  • Does OS X.5 Still Come With OS 9?

Does OS X.5 Still Come With OS 9 to allow you to run older applications that won't run on OS X? Thanks!

Thanks Allan. In particular I'm interested in AOL 10.3.7 for Mac OS X. It seems like the newer Mac Desktop as well as the email systems at the two colleges where I teach (each uses a different version of Microsoft Outlook) to not allow me to download my emails in the pre-existing folders in my hard drive. I've had all my saved emails organized on my hard drive using one version of AOL or another for a good 10-15 years now, and I don't want to lose that capacity. I have looked in vain for a way to do the same thing with either the newer AOL Desktop or Outlook, so if I'm missing something I'd appreciate it if someone would point it out. Otherwise though I'd like to keep using AOL 10.3.7. Currently I forward all my emails from either Outlook account to my AOL account and then use AOL to save each email. This allows me to do things like look back at my correspondence with students to see what they and I said previously, etc.
    Thanks.

  • Does the headphone jack have a video output?

    Hi,
This quesiton is regarding either generation of ipad.
Does the headphone jack have a video output, akin to the ipod video?
    If so, what's the resolution.
    Thanks
    AS

No iOS device has had video out through the headphone jack since....the model of the Classic since before the current one? I admit to not being entirely sure on when it was dropped. None of the current devices (iPad, iPod or iPhone) have that capability.

  • Does any body know if all itouches come with a warrenty?

so my itouch is cracked bad. does anybody know if all ipod touches come with a warrenty and if apple replaces ipods for free under warrenty?

When you purchase an iPod, it comes with a 1 year warranty with 90 days of phone support and an option to buy AppleCare to extend another year (total 2 years) after purchase. Unfortunately Apple does not replace because of accidents, spills, modifications, etc.:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=servicefaq&geo=United_States&product=ipod
Look under "What types of damages are not covered by my warranty.
But you can get it repaired by Apple for a price.

  • Does The Headphone Jack on the mac book air also work with microphone

(MacBook Air) Does The headphone Jack work as a microphone jack like the MacBook Pro does

The current MacBook Air uses a TRRS 3.5 mm mini jack, just like the iPhone. As long as the intended device (headphone/microphone) is compatible with this jack standard, you are fine.
    TRRS (tip, ring, ring, sleeve)
You can also buy adapters that will "split" the connections into separate Mic and speaker channels, for use with recording equipment using other jacks. Say, for instance you have a microphone that uses a 1/4" jack.

  • HP ENVY 6t has many issues with USB headphone, Bluetooth and more serious issue

HP ENVY 6t doesn't work with USB headphone, unfortunately. could u let me know how to fix it?
Bluetooth mouse has been working for a day, it suddenly stopped working. Having checked the PC bluetooth connection, which said "Working properly".   Could you let me know how to re-connect, or re-work?
"Not complete shut-down" blue screen issue right after receiving the HP PC when I closed display to be in sleep mode.
I see the "Safe mode" "...." or "Normal mode" screen always.
The HP PC is not stable UNFORTUNATELY.
Even if just brand new HP PC, there seems to be many issues.

I would recommend using this document for your mouse: http://goo.gl/XDRRy
And using this document to troubleshoot your headphones issue: http://goo.gl/hV9fu
Most of the time with USB headphones, you have to download the driver from the manufacturer before they will work properly.

  • Does new MBP still come with an OS DVD?

Just ordered a new MBP and am wondering if it comes with an OS DVD.  reason I ask is that upon arrival I will partition the HD and wonder how I get the OS  reinstaled.  Like clone it, but with cloning the recovery partion will not clone.
    Thanks

Since the Lion release, new Macs don't come with DVDs. Instead, they come with OS X Recovery, that allows you to reinstall OS X. See > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718
To start in OS X Recovery, hold Command and R keys while your Mac is starting. OS X will be downloaded from the Mac App Store each time you want to reinstall OS X. Apart from that, iLife apps are installed from the Mac App Store, and you can reinstall those applications free of charge.
Note that an application like Carbon Copy Cloner will also clone OS X Recovery to an external drive

  • The music sound from my i pod is muffled through my headphone.. does the headphone jack need replacing

Iv had my ipod for few years.. now the sound through the headphone is muffled i brought new ones but the sound is still the same.. does the headphne jack need changing and how much will it cost ?

    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Check also Settings > General > Accessibility > Hearing. Make sure that the sound balance is not set all the way to "R".
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.
    Apple - iPod Repair price
A third-party place like the following will replace the jack for less. Google for more.
iPhone Repair, Service & Parts: iPod Touch, iPad, MacBook Pro Screens
    Replace the jack yourself

  • Does the headphone jack wear out over time?

I've had my touch for nearly two years.  It has been working almost flawlessly until now.  When ever I shift the headphone jack at all, I loose some sound or all of it.  If the cord is totally still, I get sound okay, but this just isn't practical.  At first I thought it was just the headphones, because we all know that headphones rarely last over a year.  However, I tried plugging in my cassette adapter and the same thing happened.  Looks like it might be the jack.
Has anyone had this issue?  If so, how did you attempt to resolve it?

The physical law of entropy is stronger than God. Therefor, anything and everythign will break down given a long enough time. However, I think you may be worrying a bit too much here. Your express should generally last long enough.. until you plan to change 802.11n to another better format.
Yes, some go bad time to time, hence why limited warranty is only a year from DoP.
I suspect your issue may be due to interference. I'm curious what band are you using on those expresses.

  • Does the Mac Pro REALLY still come with the old white plastic keyboard?

Just looking through the Apple Store and it seems it's the old version of the keyboard included. Mind you, it also says it includes iLife 06. Would be disappointing to get the old version - worst of both works - wired AND nasty quality. Our 2 Macs have both had the white keyboards failing in the last 2 years.

All of the pages on the UK site say iLife 06 including http://www.apple.com/uk/macpro/specs.html and the online store.
I get on ok with the white keyboards but they're really poor quality. My wife's F key stopped working within 24hrs, then my Eject key stopped working, then my replacement arrived with several keys loose in the box. Mind you, never before have Apple keyboards been so cheap to buy - they really are cheap enough to be disposable now (especially the wired versions). It's a bit of a pain to be with a faulty keyboard when you have important work to do - I really would rather pay a little more for better quality. That's what Apple used to be about.

  • Does the iBooks app for iPad still come with the free Winnie the Pooh ebook?

Hi I heard that the iBooks came with a free ebook of Winnie the Pooh, I was wondering if it is still the case, if so how do I get it?

Go into the iBook store, search for Winnie the pooh and download it.
    It is free.

  • Does the Helena Beats demo come with the non-app store version of Logic Pro?

    Thanks in Advance

Yeah, I have the project since I got the App Store download - there are some Logic synths, Ultrabeat and EXS24 tracks and also some audio tracks of bounced synth plug-ins or external instruments, so you can tinker with it to a reasonable degree. What I meant was that I haven't heard the released, mastered version of the song, which ought to sound better - its always interesting to look at other people's work, though.
There are a lot of vocal tracks, so I guess all the audio files for those make the project the size that it is. As I suggested before, a large enough memory stick should do, as long as the Apple Store staff are OK with it.

  • Will an I pod touch 5 from amazon still come with the 1 year apple warrenty?

Will an I pod touch 5 bought from amazon uk still have the 1 year apple warrenty?

If it has a warranty in effect then it will only be usable in the UK. If you want to extend the warranty with AppleCare+, then you need to do that within 30 days of purchase (new.)

  • Does Stickies still come with new Macs?

I've tried using Notes since Mountain Lion came out, and while I like the fact Notes syncs with iCloud, I do not find it to be as useful as Stickies.
(I like sync because I can switch as seemlessly as possible between my iMac and MBA when ever I need to without missing anything.)
Notes should not have been talked about as a "replacement for Stickies"... it is a completely different app and nothing like Stickies.
Today I am giving up on Notes and going back to using Stickies... the benefit of sync to iCloud is not enough to make up for:
    - the ugly lines and extra border space taken up by Notes.
    - the absence of the "send to new sticky note" service.
    - the big ugly fonts
    - it's inability to maintain font color and formatting when I copy/paste info out of Xcode.
Probably more differences I dislike... but those are the big reasons why I cannot stand using the Notes app, despite several months of effort trying to like it.
(sure, Notes is a nice way to get certain info onto my iPhone... but it's not a useful desktop app outside of that.)
Why not just implement iCloud sync for Stickies... an app that was already awesome for its simplicity and only lacked sync?
And finally: Is Stickies gone on new installations of OS X?
    Thanks,
    Brian

    Thank you.
I went to the Apple store just to verify, and indeed it is still installed into the Utilities folder on new Macs.
They no longer put Stickies along the icon bar, it is replaced by Notes at that location but still available for people like me who want it.
Unrelated, but I held the iPhone 5 while at the store and the weight difference from the iPhone 4 had sounded minor to me, but turns out to make a *huge* difference when holding it, I was amazed at how light it was.
