Does the anyone know if the IHandy flashlight app contain malware?? If so what are the removal steps to insure the malware is removed??

There is no malware that can affect an iPhone unless it's been jailbroken.
Some apps request to do things, like access your location or contacts, and can continue to do so in the background. If this app requested permission for either of these things, you should delete it. A flashlight app has no need for such information.

  • I was trying to do a favor for my gf, and I uninstalled bonjour. What are my next steps with the cloud and ios5

I was trying to do a favor for my gf, and I accidentily on purpose uninstalled bonjour. It has seemed to really screw up iTunes for me.  What are my next steps to get this back to normal? I have downloaded and using the icloud and ios5. I have two iPhones 3gs and our iPad2. And our computer is windows xp(yes it is time for an upgrade)

Try the troubleshooting help here.  http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/phone/
You may need to restore your iPhone.
If it won't restore, try here. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
If nothing helps, you need to contact Verizon for information for an exchange or refund. This is a user to user forum, not Apple.
Apple's policy for a refund or exchange is within 14 days of purchase. Verizon's policy may be different.
Definitely try restoring .. hopefully you won't have to go through the hassle of an exchange.

  • Flashlight app possible malware?

According to the attached video the top ten flashlight apps are malware.  Does anyone know if the iphone flashlight is secure?

The one that comes with iPhone seems OK. The ones we download are the problem. One expert says if the app takes up more than a megabyte it's probably malware. This makes sense since turning on a flashlight is such a simple operation - not worthy of megs of memory. You can check the amount of memory used by going to Settings - General - Usage - Manage Storage. The expert says if you have a large (> 1Meg) flashlight go to your provider or an apple store to get reset to factory setting. Deleting the app is  not enough.
The "expert" specifically says "apps you download from the Google play store". You cannot download iPhone apps from the Google Play Store. Unlike Android phones, apps on your iPhone cannot access any of your data without asking your permission, so if a flashlight app asks to see your contacts, location, or any other information then I would delete the app and report it to Apple.
It's well known that Android phones are highly susceptible to malware. One of the security companies a few months ago identified 297 apps that were malware. All but 3 were for Android devices. The 3 that could infect an iPhone all had been removed from the App store and deleted from phones within days of their release.

  • Apps that go free & VPP - what are the rules?

    Hi,
Just wondering what are the rules once an app goes free & volume licencing? If an app goes free for a certain amount of time & you download it & use configurator to distribute to iPads is this ok?
    Thanks

AUR queries should be posted to the aur-general mailing list.
As indicated in the thread linked by Karol above, it is permitted to append unsupported architectures to the arch array of a PKGBUILD that builds on officially supported architectures. That does not necessarily mean that we will allow packages that only build on unsupported architectures. This should be discussed on the mailing list. I have a vague memory of this coming up before and I think the consensus was that such packages would not be supported, but that consensus may have changed. Personally, I do not see a problem with such packages right now and I expect official supported to be extended in the future,  so I am in favor of allowing them.
Packages that install pre-compiled binaries should be distinguished from normal packages with a "-bin" suffix. Such packages are permitted as long as they do not violate applicable licenses.

  • My macbook battery will not charge. I have tried unplugging and doing an SMC reset but it did not seem to change. I have yet to try another magsafe charger. The charger has a dim green light while plugged into the computer. What are my next steps?

    Hello Everyone,
This is my first time using the forum. My macbook battery will not charge. I have tried unplugging and doing an SMC reset but it did not seem to change. I have yet to try another magsafe charger. The charger has a dim green light while plugged into the computer. What should my next steps be, besides trying a new charger as well as being the most cost effective?
    Thanks

    Hi ..
    The battery may need replacing.
Check the battery maximum cycle count > Mac notebooks: Determining battery cycle count
And check the adapter >  Apple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters

  • Just lately autoplay does not come up when I connect my ipod, what are some possible reasons that could cause this?

It's been opening every day but all of a sudden stopped yesterday. My ipod itself is working fine but does this mean my ipod is corrupt? Would it be more of a problem with the hardware of my ipod or computer?
    How can I fix this?
Is it okay to still sync my ipod if I can't fix it?

    Does iTunes see the iPod
Does the iPod appear in My Computer
What if you insert a USB stick with photos?
    Maybe

  • What are all of the folders containing no photos?

There are a large number of folders in my library that don't show any pictures.  They seem to have the year, month, and data coded and then another number.  It would be 20130828-101915.  They seem to contain no photos.  What are they?

    hard to say
they may be left over from old versions
The best plan is to not ever go inside the iPhoto library - there is no need to and there are no user servicable parts in it

  • Adding new fields to assignment block, what are the steps to do this.

    CRM 7.
Could someone tell me what the steps are to add new fields to specifdic assignment block. Assume that these fields do not already exist in any given structure/table.
My understanding is that I need to use transaction EEWB and then somehow use the component  "BSP_DLC_FS" and view "factsheet". But having never used EEWB before I'ma tad lost.  I'm in EEWB and have crfeated a project and believe that I now need to create an extension. When doing this I am displayed a box with 4 fields, being: Name, Description, EEW Bus object and Extension type. What are my next steps?
I assume that the EEW bus object is 'BUPA' and the extension type is 'ADD_NEW_FIELDS'. However, how do I know for sure that the EEW bus object should be 'BUPA', bearing in mind that I'm adding new fields to the Account (BP) main address communication data Assignemnt block?.
I wondered if anyone has a link to any guide docuemnt about how to do this?.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
I attempted to use EEWB to add new fields to BUPA but am hitting the error: BDT-DC is Not Prepared for This Application Object
On searching I can see that there are ways around this, via SM30 against table/view V_TBZ1_DC, changing the BDT BC settings, whatever they are. But it gives me a warning when this happens and mentions that only SAP are allowed to do this, but it will allow me to create a transport if I press on past this. Should I need to make this change though, or have I just done something wrong within EEWB I wonder.
    Jason

    Hi Jason,
You can try using Application Enhancement Tool (AET) to create new fields instead of EEWB,

  • Does the flashlight app harm i-phone's LED light?

Does the flashlight app potentially do harm to the phone's LED light?

I assume you're asking about iHandy Flashlight, or something like it:
    http://www.ihandysoft.com/flashlight.html
All LEDs become less bright as they age, that's just a fact of life. The effect may be so subtle as to not be noticeable though, and I have never experienced a visible light LED actually fail completely.
The fact that the app is in the App Store is sufficient for me to conclude that it will not be harmful.
I imagine your iPhone will be outdated in the four or five years you might be expected to use the app. I wouldn't be concerned about it.

  • Malware in flashlight apps for Android - has anyone confirmed the information

There's a YouTube video warning about malware hidden in popular flashlight apps for Android - has anyone confirmed or debunked this ??  http://www.youtube.com/embed/Q8xz8xKEFvU

I should have been a bit more specific on which 7.7's I am referring to.
Specifically, has anyone with the Verizon branded SCH i815 model received the update?  Or has anyone bought or received a refurb tablet from Verizon that had the ICS operating system already running?
It is clear that the other wi fi 7.7's that Samsung sells can be and have been updated by Samsung, but my conversation with Samsung indicated to me that they cannot or will not update the SCH i815 because it is a Verizon specific model.
What I am looking for here is info on the SCH i815 as to whether ANY of them are running ICS and how/where did that occur.
    Thanks,
    Harry

  • Deleted a Flashlight App and now I cannot send texts nor get the iOS 8.1 update.  Was the App a malware?

Since deleting the Flashlight App early this morning and all of my mail has stopped coming in since 1:40 am.
When I connect it to my computer to back up my phone, it just asks if I trust this computer but does not show up in My Computer.
    Any suggestions?

Removed and replaced Sim per Troubleshooting instructions. Problem fixed.

  • What does the Sun App Server Use as a web container?

Does the Sun App Server use tomcat? Or is it some derivative of Tomcat?
    thanks for the info.

    Thanks.
Just to clarify for any others who are interested, heres the deal:
    1) Package the static HTML files using the 'deploytool' (See Packaging Web Modules in Chapter 3 of The J2EE(TM) 1.4 Tutorial). This creates a .war file with the required deployment descriptors(?); anyway it creates a bunch of .xml files that have the right data in them.
    2) Take the .war file and drop it in the 'quick deploy' icon (copies the .war file to the 'autodeploy' directory for the App Server instance).
    Anyhow thats the drill.
    Good luck.

  • Malware from doing the nastiest things on Safari?

Can I get any malware on my iPhone if I do the following on Safari:
    1) Watch explicit adult videos on all the adult websites that reportedly attacked its users with 100% fatal malware.
    2) Visit reported and verified javascript malware injector websites and clicking on the "Mess Up My Stuff" button to say that I actually want the website to inject the malware into my device if it isn't automatic.
    3) Click on all the ads and pop-ups on the most shady website and keep clicking away (no filling out of personal information, just clicking).
    4) Download all the iPhone-downloadable things that are known to contain malware from Safari.
Assume I'm the dumbest person to use an iPhone and I like to do these things on a regular basis. Would the statement "It is impossible to get a virus on an iPhone" still hold true?

There are currently no known viruses or trojans that can affect an un-jailbroken iOS device. There are no iPhone downloadable things in Safari.
The worst I've seen happen is cookies that can cause Safari to keep redirecting, usually to the App Store. It's generally easily fixed by deleting cookies and history.
One of the joys of owning an iOS devices is knowing that you will essentially not have to worry about this sort of stuff.

  • Does the retail version of Leopard OSX 10.5 contain I Photo? /iLife/

Does the retail version of Leopard OSX 10.5 contain I Photo? /iLife/
    Thanks

In my opinion I would increase memory to 2 GBs of RAM:
    Maximum Memory
    2.0 GB
    Memory Slots
    2 - 200-pin PC2-5300 (667MHz) DDR2 SO-DIMM
Then I would install Snow Leopard:
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
               terms apply.
