Does the iPad 2 still have issues with light bleeding/yellowing?

Hi,
I placed an order for an iPad 2 back in April but cancelled the order when I heard about initial quality control issues such as light bleeding/yellowing.  However, I am keen to buy a iPad 2.  Could anyone who bought an iPad 2 more recently (say, since mid May) advise whether they too have had these issues?  I can't afford to spend £500+ on a device that doesn't work like it's supposed to.
Thanks!
Tony

Hi there Tony!
All iPads should work as expected, to have a fault with one is usually a random, and rare event. Your iPad will probably be perfect, only a few out of a very large number have defects.
However, if your iPad does not meet your standards when you purchase it, I would take it to the local Apple Store. You receive a 1 year limited warranty, and they will be happy to replace it if any defects occur.
Hope that put your mind at rest.

  • Does The iPhone 4 Still Have The Reception Issue

hey guys i wanna know does the iphone 4 still have the "Death Grip" which is the reception issue (antenna issue) with iphone 4 when u hold ur hand (or fingers) near the antennas and the reception goes down to like 1 bar (n sometimes makes it go to no service).
i think someone said they have made newer models of the iphone 4 what have fixed it but i am not 100% sure
have they fixed it if i buy an iphone 4 now or does it still have the reception issue
here is what it is if u dont know what the reception issue is : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ixIHyEPO5g

My blackberry still has the reception / antenna issue. And always has. In fact, it is so bad that I can terminate the connection if I hold the phone with my head and shoulder.
My iPhone 4 (not s) on the other hand has never been a problem for me.
A lot of noise—not much benefit. However Apple did apply new engineering to the problem—which is great!

  • Why does the iPad Mini not have music play count?

I bought an iPad Mini and also have a macbook. I had listened to various music on my iPad Mini the other day, however when I connected the iPad Mini to the Macbook and iTunes via the lightning connector to sync, it synced the ratings I gave the songs I listened to on the mini, but no play count, as if I had not listened to anything. I hope there is something I can do about this as I often look at my play count!!

It should work work but these kind of bugs pop up between updates, both hardware and software. Try closing all apps in the recently used list on the iPad. Double tap the Home button, tap and hold one of the icons at the bottom till they wiggle then tap the to close them. Tap the Home button to get back to the Home screen then hold the sleep button till you see the slide to power off message. Once it has powered down completely hold the Sleep button till the Apple icon appears.

    Does it even really matter...?
Many people including myself rely on playcounts to control smart playlist to manage large libraries. Smart playlists can be created to show your most or least played tracks and used more or less as your favorites or other uses. Along with playcounts the date is transferred so to keep a fresh list of music on my smaller iPods a smart playlist set to songs not played in the last month keeps some fresh tunes on it.
Playcounts are also used to manage Podcasts in iTunes to delete older episode. Bookmarks, which can also be effected by this, can mess up audiobooks, movies and podcast playback between different devices. So yes, it does matter.

  • Does the iTunes Store still have $4.99 movies?

Does the iTunes Store still have $4.99 movies? If they do, how do you find them? It seems that the iTunes Store no longer links to discounted movies.

Thanks to Jesse M for the "See all >>" suggestion, which is better than nothing, and to iNexxFear for all your hard work, but I absolutely need the search results to come up with full functionality. The possibility of searching painstakingly by separate categories for Composer, Album etc. merely puts me at the mercy of the overworked, undereducated interns who have to type in such information, unaided of course by iTunes' hopelessness at categorising anything other than pop songs.
However, I've found a fantastic solution of my own. It's called Amazon. Only 69p a track. Searching isn't perfect, but it's far better than this appalling leap backwards by Apple.
Yes, I'm upset. But I see the thin end of a wedge that's turning Apple into Microsoft.

  • HT204158 does the ipad smart case have a warranty

Does the iPad smart case have a warranty?

    Heidi,
I purchased a smart case as a gift for a relative, at a local Apple store. In a few months it developed the same problem as your case.  I took it back to the Apple store and was told there was a 1year warranty which  covered manufacturing defects, as long as the product was not abused.  I told them that the glue problem was a Factory defect and I wanted a  replacement, which was granted to me.  Talking to someone face to face does give you more leverage than talking to phone personnel who might be a few thousand miles away.  So, if you have an Apple store in your area, you may get better results there.

  • HT4101 Does the Ipad camera connection  kit work with the Ipad 4 and if not is there an adapter?

Does the IPad camera connection kit work with the Ipad 4 and /or is the an adapter ?

You want the newer Lightning to USB Camera Adaptor.

The old Camera Connection Kit also works and I use it on my iPad 4, however, to use this your will need the Lightning to 30 pin adaptor.

  • Does the iPad 3 gen, have a voice recorder?

Does the iPad 3rd gen with retina display, have a voice recorder?

Not as a built in app - no it does not. If you need a voice recorder, you will have to download an app from the App Store. An app like Quick Voice Recorder.

  • Does the new iMac still have these?!?!

    Heyy,
I was wondering, and I'm quite curious. When I look at the new iMac design I see things that it might not have that the last generation had.
    1) Does it still have a sleep light, if it does, where is it?
    2) Does it still have the magnetic side where the Apple Remote sits?
    Thanks,
    Ramin

    Heyy,
Thanks for the fast reply. I'm extremely surprised that Apple would do this. I still prefer my iMac (white one), and this pushes me even further away. Even though it's newer, I don't think it's better (except for processors and hard drive), but they can me upgraded(with a lot of hard work!)
Again, thank you for the information.

  • Anyone still have issues with shipment?

I ordered mine on Sept. 4th, 9am. And it still hasn't shipped from China. >< Is this normal? :-/

I'm afraid it is pretty normal yep
It just depends on where you are in the world (more and more USA people seem to be getting theirs if they ordered near the launch), and how many people are ahead of you in the queue .. mine was ordered on the 2nd (with engraving) and still hasn't shipped either to UK, we just have to be patient if we decide to continue with the order
Some people have cancelled their order and bought it from a local supplier, but I'm happy (relatively speaking .. read that as impatient hehe), just to wait since I quite fancy the personalisation.
Edit: my deliver date says 10-15th.

  • Hi, what Firmware does the iPad 2 Refurbished have?

    Hi,
I Want to buy an iPad 2 Refurbished. But my question is, what Firmware is on it?
    iJay360

Either 4 or 5 - but if it's not the latest version then you can update to it yourself for free (and if you do it before adding any content to it then you don;t have to worry about potentially losing any content during the content) :
To update to iOS 5.0.1 you need iTunes 10.5 on your computer. When you've got iTunes 10.5 installed then connect your iPad to it, and if iTunes doesn't prompt you to update to iOS 5.0.1, then select the iPad on the left-hand side of it, and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side click the Check For Updates button.

  • Does the Ipad 2 GSM version work with networks abroad, as in their microsim

I realize that its a GSM model, and that, theoretically, it should work with GSM networks abroad. But remember the GSM Iphone 4? Even if you had chosen to purchase one without a contract, it will not work with GSM networks abroad. Apparently, it was locked to ATT, with or without a contract. I've tried this before. My Iphone 3Gs will not work with international sim cards. However, the iphone 4 I purchased from the UK, unlike the American iphone 4, works with any international micro-sim as long as the carrier was on a GSM network.
So my question is, will the current American GSM Ipad 2 work abroad with international GSM micro-sims, or will it not work like the American iphone 4?

As has been stated in approximately 47 other threads on this subject, the iPad, unlike the iPhone, is not locked to a carrier. Yes, you can use it in other countries with an appropriate microsim. The problem that you could run into is, if you need any kind of warranty service before the iPad is released in your country, you may find yourself in a bit of a bind.

  • Does the iPad 1 support ibooks made with ibooks author?

Well, i'm planning on buying an ipad 1 because is still capable and is cheaper than the 2 right now, and something wich is very frustrating for me is, do some apps are still fully compatible? as the title say's, the new books made with ibooks author are compatible?

With the current software ..books created using iBooks Author cannot be viewed on iPhones.
iBooks Author creates books that can only...be used with iPads and on Macs with Mavericks installed, by using iBooks.
Thats it...no rumours. Blogs or to be more accurate...some of those who  contribute to them seem to either be totally stupid, or like to make themselves look as if they have inside knowledge.
Apple created iBooks Author to allow self publishers create and publish books to the store. But not just novels or text only type books. iBA made these books allow audio / video ..and much much more than any novel. That being so....most interactive multi media books will not really display well on a screen the size if the iPhone.
Apple are more concerned in getting iPads in use more by business and education at all levels.
The only rumour that may well become fact is a larger sized screen for a bigger iPad  mid to late 2014.
