Does the iPad work well with Photoshop?

I'm an a student, and i really want to know if the iPad would be good with Photoshop or another digital art app. I'm using a mac with a computer tablet, but I was wondering if using a iPad would be better.
If the iPad is better, is there any way for me to get Photoshop on it without purchasing it from the app store? I have it in hard copy.

You have to get free or purchase all apps from the iTunes store.
There's an free iPad app called Photoshop Express. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/adobe-photoshop-express/id331975235?mt=8 The full Photoshop or Photoshop Express app for a computer is better.
 Cheers, Tom

Did you already ask in the HP site?
The chances of finding someone in this user forums who has that device without specifying your platform is not that good.
    BOILERPLATE TEXT:
Note that because this is boilerplate text.
If you give complete and detailed information about your setup and the issue at hand,
such as your platform (Mac or Win),
exact versions of your OS, of Photoshop (not just "CS6", but something like CS6v.13.0.6) and of Bridge,
your settings in Photoshop > Preference > Performance
the type of file you were working on,
machine specs, such as total installed RAM, scratch file HDs, total available HD space, video card specs, including total VRAM installed,
what troubleshooting steps you have taken so far,
    what error message(s) you receive,
if having issues opening raw files also the exact camera make and model that generated them,
if you're having printing issues, indicate the exact make and model of your printer, paper size, image dimensions in pixels (so many pixels wide by so many pixels high). if going through a RIP, specify that too.
    etc.,
someone may be able to help you (not necessarily this poster).
a screen shot of your settings or of the image could be very helpful too.

Realize that people that aren't having problems tend not to "brag" that they're doing fine.  Those that are having problems are usually very vocal.  So a lot of the "bad reviews" may just be those that had a problem, not necessarily the real experience of the millions of people that are doing just fine.
...and I'm afraid to download it and my computer is 2009, yours runs smoothly?
I'm running Lion fine on my 2008 MBP (4,1. 2.4GHz C2D, 4GB) and late 2009 Mini (2.0GHz C2D, 8GB.)  Minimum RAM for Lion is 2GB, but IMHO you really want 4GB.  If you have a lot of apps open (or have demanding apps like Photoshop,) then get more RAM if you machine can handle it.
Also, make sure the rest of your apps or drivers are up to date before upgrading.  Incompatible drivers for things like printers and such are what I've found to cause a lot of stability problems.

  • Does the IPAD mini come with, or have an optional, adaptor for charging from the cigarette lighter in the car?

Does the IPAD mini come with, or have an optional, cigarette lighter adaptor for charging?

Thanks much for the links, Johnathan.  I am going to be spending this summer kayaking in SE Alaska working with a conservation group out of Sitka, measuring data from remote wilderness areas.  I found a human powered 12v charger made by Freeplay Energy that utilizes a common cigarette lighter plug in.  With one of the adaptors you have identified for me I should be able to crank power into a mini in the middle of nowhere.
I had hoped I could download the free Sirius XM app and receive satellite radio in addition to other mini uses, but Sirius informs me they don't cover SE Alaska, but could still receive broadcasts whenever I'm in one of the Sitka harbors that provide wifi, i.e. internet radio.
If any other helpful takes on my situation occur to you be assured I'm all ears.
    Thanks again.

  • Does the iPad get slower with time?

i have an iPad 4 for over a year. Does the iPad get slower with the passage of time or because of small amount of available?

As with any piece of electronics, the more stuff you get on there, the more clutter and the more 'junk' (not meaning offensively, just junk as extra files, fragmented files, etc) that it has to run through.
If you think it's getting too slow, you can fully back it up, then reset your iPad back to factory settings (erase all content and settings) and then restore from that backup.
It's not impossible, just something to do carefully because if you haven't backed everything up correctly, you will lose it. (content and apps from iTunes can always be redownloaded but content made on your iPad can be deleted if not backed up)
I've had my iPad 2 for almost three years now and really haven't noticed a major decline in function. So unless you see something drastic, I really wouldn't worry about it.

  • Does Canon XF100 work well with Final Cut Pro

Does the Canon XF 100 work well with Final Cut Pro 7.03

I have read the information about this camera and I have looked at several discussion groups.  Apparently you cannot edit in native format with this camera. This has been confirmed to me by a Canon rep.  You have to bring in footage thru log and transfer which means it takes more time as it converts.  I have never had to do this before.  Because I have always imported thru log and capture.  So because I was wondering if anyone out there can tell me if they are using the camera and if it works well inspite of it.  Or anyone has a better camera recommendation but in the price range of the XF100.
    Thanks,

  • Is it true that Thunderbird does no longer works well with POP mail servers and only works well with IMAP servers?

Our email host is telling us that our outdated POP mail server doesn't work well with Thunderbird and it the reason we're having sporadic difficulty sending out emails with attachments when using Thunderbird (no problems when sending emails directly from the email host's web portal and bypassing Thunderbird). We'll often get notification when using Thunderbird and trying to attach PDF'd documents to an email that "Sending of message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to SMTP server timed out." The email host company is advising that this problem will be solved if we upgrade from the free POP email to the not free IMAP email. True? Or are they just using this Thunderbird problem as an excuse to sign us up for unnecessary services?

I think they are using this as an excuse.
Messages are sent via SMTP. Both, POP and IMAP are protocols to receive mail.
In any case, it would be '''their''' 'outdated POP mail server', not yours.
Check this article for troubleshooting the problem.

  • Does the ipad mini come with a micro sim card?

I am interested in purchasing an ipad mini w cellular option.  I am moving to the UK for a year and want to use a provider there but switch back to a US provider next year. Does the ipad mini come equipped with a micro sim card?

The US AT&T model comes with an AT&T SIM. For other carriers you will need to get a nano-SIM from the carrier.

  • Does the iPad 2 runs with Wi-Fi using an ADSL modem plus a Belkin Wi-fi ?

    Hello everybody,
I am trying to connect my wife iPad2 to my Wi-Fi network ; I use a Thomson Speedtouch ADSL modem plus a Belkin Wi-Fi router.
My Internet provider is Orange in France.
Does my hardware Wi-Fi configuration permits to run the iPad2 in Wi-Fi mode ?
My modem system is likely obsolete for Wi-Fi on an iPad; the modem is perfect with the Ethernet RJ45 cable but likely not
    for Wi-Fi ???
    Thanks for any advice

Isn't your router connected to the modem, which provides wifi to your house? This is how a local wifi network is created.
The iPad doesn't care about the modem.
If it conects to your wifi, it will use that to go to the internet.

  • Does the iPad come equipped with Pages after purchasing it?

I am trying to figure out how much it will cost me to buy an iPad with iWork, and a case(irrelevant)and i am having trouble figuring out the whole deal with iWork. It says that it is only compatable with Macs and I'm a PC, so if I were to buy an iPad, how would i be able to utilize the iWork apps??

    Welcome to Apple Discussions
No, you have to purchase it from the App Store, either in iTunes on your computer or on the iPad. The three iWork applications - Keynote, Pages & Numbers - are individual applications for the iPad & are not the same as the iWork suite that runs only on a Mac. You can buy one, two or all three.
Pages can open Word documents & export as Word documents. I've not had a need to do that, but others who have posted in this forum have. If you have a problem doing that, please post back. We are all other users trying to help.
