Does the iphone 4 s work in brazil?

does the iphone 4s works in brazil?

thanks, wjosten.
I think this is it (provisioned incorrectly).  If you see my other thread (I started one after getting called out for 'hijacking'), I specifically explained my use case to the in-store rep (traveling, need international capability to mirror the same plan on my berry, etc.):  apple provisioning error.
I gotta say, I rarely post on these boards and it's a tougher board then sfgate/wsj!  wjosten, there wasn't any malicious intent to 'hijack,' any thread:  I was looking for the same answer as the OP.  Depending on where the OP is buying her phone you at least pointed out to her that she needs to be specific in the store on enabling international service.
Anyways, thanks again!! :-)

Why does the iphone 4 work only intermittently with the Sony HCB150 speakerphone?

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
If the issue persists, take the device to Apple for further assistance.

  • Does the iPhone 3G work with iPod Hi-Fi?

As the topic says, will I be able to dock a iPhone 3G into my iPod Hi-Fi?

not sure if this applies here...
    reposted for discussion sake:
    ..The Charging System...
Most chargers on the market today are designed to charge via USB or via 12v through the firewire portion of apple dock pins (pins 19,20 12V DC and pins 29,30 Ground). This was an easy choice for the manufacturers because your car is already a 12V based system that kept the charging solutions inexpensive to make. If they already had 12V available, why step it down to 5V to charge via the USB pins? Makes sense right? As you know, Apple has eliminated 12V charging from their newer units but has left a sensing circuit on the firewire pins just to tell you that your old device doesnt work anymore. Your existing chargers will not harm the Iphone, but they are certainly useless.
The new way to charge is through the USB pins on the Apple dock connector ( pin 16 USB GND, pin 23 USB Power 5 VDC, pin 25 USB Data negative, pin 27 USB Data positive ). BUT, you cannot just apply 5V to pin 23 and ground to pin 16. The Iphone is also sensing voltage on USB Data positive (approx 1.8v) and USB Data negative (approx 2.5V).
    ...The Audio System...
If you had an older gen Ipod like an Ipod Video then the audio outputs were real easy, it always put line out audio through the audio pins in the dock connector. The Iphone is a different animal. The audio and serial pins are still the same on the dock connector, BUUT, there is an accessroy pin (pin 21) that senses the type of accessory that is plugged in. If the correct resistance is NOT on pin 21 then the Iphone completely ignores the connection and does not redirect the audio to the dock. Thus most of your old Ipod Interfaces are now obsolete..
I personally have an IPAC-OEM interface (pac-audio.com) to my Buick Regal that worked great with my Ipod Video (charge, audio, steering wheel controls). When I plug in my Iphone 3G, it gives me the aircraft warning (I hit no) then audio Video works fine. It wont charge, but again, audio, video and steering wheel controls work as they should. I sent them an email this morning asking when they will have an Iphone solution. They may already have it, but havent updated their site.
I also have a ic-ALPA interface from PAC that connects to my Alpine stereo in my other car via the Alpine AI-net. It will do charge and audio on my Ipod Video, on my 3G it does nothing. Ofcourse as we've seen above, it's a 12V charger which does nothing on the 3G and it lacks the proper indicator on pin 21 to tell the 3G what to do.
There's a lot of manufacturers that are going to have to play catchup for a while. Wonder how long that will take?
So, I think that settles it for the most part, I hope this helps.

  • Does the iPhone 4S work with the tom-tom car kit?

The tomtom car kit still works fine with my old iPhone 4. I can not get it to work with my iPhone 4S at all it does not recognize the car kit.

I also posted this problem on the tomtom fourums and got a fix from a user. In addtion to the iphone 4 adapter I used a peice of velcro on top of the existing adapter I had in place. Now it works with the iphone 4S. I guess the 4S is slightly thinner the the 4.

ok thanks- that is what i thought - i used to have a different cell that the alarm would work even if you had the phone turned off. so this is a good to know, so that i don't have the phone turned off if i need to wake up in the morning using the alarm.

  • Does the iphone 3gs works well with ios 5

I need to buy an iphone 3gs for my daughter and need to know if it works well with the new IOS 5 or what ?

I have the nearly the same problem.
My problem is exactly that the music will play, but not over the internal loud speakers.
When in plug in the earphones i will hear the music.
Also the loud speakers would be fine, because the loudspeakers would work when i make a hands free phone call.
There must be a bug in the ios 5.1.
I also had a phenomen when I was connected in my local network, I have some airport express, I see these airport express device, the dock connector, but not the internal speaker or the iphone to select as an sound source.
And i tried to make a reset. Doesn't help.
Maybe i try next to set back the phone to manufacturer settings and restore it.

  • Does the iphone internet works exactly like the one on the computer?

I'm planning to buy an iPhone. But before i do that i need to find out if the iphone can view every website just like the one on the computer. Does Safari support all websites including JAVA and flash players. Can i view Youtube and pics and other videos on the Iphone using the interent website? One last thing how long does it take for a page to load?
    <Edited By Host>

The iPhone does not support Flash, nor does it support Java. You can only view videos encoded as h.264 (there's a YouTube app on the phone which accesses a special section of the YouTube library that's been recoded).

  • Does the iphone 4 work with Ford SYNC?  I recently lost all my contacts and think it had something to do with SYNC.  Any suggestions?

Anybody else had problems with Ford SYNC and iphone 4?
Lost all my contacts.  Any way to recover them if they haven't been backed up?

The complaints I've heard most are due to the fact that the iPhone will not let you use the sync system to read and compose text messages, etc. I vaguely recall somthing about address books not syncing properly, but I've never heard of the sync system wiping the address book on the phone. It shouldn't be possible as the iPhone only supports PBAP for contact syncing, which is one way.
In any event, if the contacts were not synced to something and have been lost, there is no way to recover them, no matter what it was that wiped them.

  • Does the iPhone 5 support Sprint's 4G Wimaxx?

this is the answer i got from an Apple Support representative before he disappeared without saying anything:
    Now Chatting with Kaeleb
Hi, welcome to the US Apple Online Store.  How are you?
does the iphone 5 work on sprints 4g wimaxx and 4g lte?
Yes it sure does, the iPhone is designed to run Sprints network wherever you have it available.
i was told by a sprint representative that the iphone 5 is only capable of supporting their 3G or 4G LTE and doesn't supoort their 4G wimaxx
    Then that information is correct
Our iPhone is designed to run whatever network the carrier allows for, if they have features not offered specifically they would be the ones with that information. The network information comes from the carrier.
yes but is the phone capable of it? it either has the antenna to connect to it or not
All iPhones have antennas to connect to a cellular network, the type of network it connects to is determined by the service provider, in your case Sprint.
I haven't heard from you for a few moments. Would you like to continue chatting?
your not giving me useful answers
I am giving you accurate information
Wether its useful or not, the information your looking for comes from Sprint.
there are specific antennas and frequencies that must be used depending on what you're trying to connect to
And since you have already discussed this with them, I have no idea why you are here asking us about something Sprint has already clarified for you.
your the company that designs and manufactures thephone
Your not getting it. As you said, we make the phone.
    With an Antenna
The type of network* is determined by the service provider.
because prior to ever speaking with sprint one of your apple representatives gave me information contradicting that
4G, 4GLTE etc, all made up by the carriers to determine their networks.
what im asking is: is the iphone 5 made to be compatible with 4g wimaxx
whether or not sprint allows it to be
I get what your asking but your not quite understanding the answer. The iPhone is made compatible to connect to cellular network. Apple does not have information regarding which network types it will connect to, its designed to work on a GSM or CDMA network, the network strength which is 4G etc, is determined by the carrier. Here at Apple we have nothing to do with that.
We don't make iPhones designed specifically for 4G, 4G LTE, 4g wimaxx or any other network. Its made to run on a GSM or CDMA type network.
you manufacture 3 different iPhone that have specific antennas radio frquencies based on which carrier its going to be activated on
From the your carrier determines the compatibility.
    Thats not true
We manufacture 2 types as I told you
    GSM and CDMA
Sprint and Verizon are both CDMA
a verizon iphone cant be used on sprints network and vice versa because the use different frequencies
    both cdma but different
like the differnence between wimaxx and lte
Not true, its because the phones are locked to the carriers services. It has nothing to do with Antennas, I am not sure where you are getting your information but if you can show me on our website where it says anything about 3 different Antennas then I would understand where you are coming from.
Let me get you the number to our technical support team so that we can find a resolution to this issue. 800-APL-CARE(800-275-2273)
    one moment and i will
I am a sales chat and here to assist customers with the online store, I am not going to be able to leave this chat open for you to contact technical support.
    i already spoke to them
Ok great, do you have any online sales questions I can answer for you?
they weren't able to give me an answer and aid to look online
I find that hard to believe, this team knows for a fact and are the experts they would never direct anyone to go online for that information. You may have spoke with customer service. You need to call technical support from the number I just have you.
    well they did
    GSM model A1428*: UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz); LTE (Bands 2, 4, 5, 17) CDMA model A1429*: CDMA EV-DO Rev. A and Rev. B (800, 1900, 2100 MHz); UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz); LTE (Bands 1, 3, 5, 13, 25) GSM model A1429*: UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz); LTE (Bands 1, 3, 5)
This is a final warning to stop this type of response. If this conversation is not kept on a professional level, this chat will end.
    thats from your site
you asked me to show you thats what i did
You can call technical support but I need to assist customers with their purchases today.
i have been nothing but professional
    i am a customer
i own a macbook air and mac mini
as well as 4th gen ipod touch and an old iphone 3gs
Great, this is a sales chat.
and this is how youre going to treat me?
I have helped you to the best of my ability, your in the wrong department
All I am doing is getting you to the correct team, because obviously you have not been given the information your looking for.
well you helped me as much as your so called technical support that youre trying to refer me to. even though i already stated they werent able to help me
I guarantee you didn't speak with the technical support team. There is no way they would send a customer online to seek that information, they are well aware that the online store chat is for online sales assistance. I am not going to continue to argue with you. This chat is not going anywhere with this back and forth. If you want assistance you will call our technical support team.
    800-APL-CARE (800-275-2273)
thats who i spoke to at 10:03
put me on hold several times and said he was unsure and for me to look online
    in your chat community
Then I would suggest calling back because for whatever reason the agent you spoke with the last time must not have been an Apple trained technicians, as they get this question plenty and know the answer.
Thank you for choosing the Apple Store. If you have any additional questions, please chat us again.
You are currently not in a chat

All the information you need is right here: http://www.apple.com/iphone/specs.html
Notice there is no mention of WiMax.
It doesn't really matter anyway as Sprint is rolling their WiMax network down for use by MVNOs. Actual Sprint customers will not have access to WiMax at all. It was a failed experiment.

  • Does the iPhone Remote control a Mac mini in the same way as ATV?

    My ATV1 has packed in.
Rather than having my MBP switched on just to listen to music through a new ATV to my hifi I am thinking of using a Mac Mini in the same way as ATV1.
Does the iPhone Remote work with the Mini the same way as it does with the ATV or do you need to use a mouse and switch on the screen?

If intending to use the Mini s a home theater system,
you may want to consider getting Rowmote or Rowmote Pro
app for the iPhone and the companion app for the Mac.
Not only will you get Apple Remote functionality, but
you will also get trackpad and keyboard functionality
as well.  This will make it even easier to navigate the
    Mini on the TV.

Always be prepared. I once went to Curacao, where the plugs are different but the hotel provided one outlet that had North American style plugs. I didn't have any adapters so I got lucky that time. I carry them now when unsure.
Also, a short extension cord (three feet or so) with three or four outlets can also be a lifesaver.

Thanks for the quick response. What you have said makes sense but there is no rhyme or reason to he data used. I reset my cellular data counter to zero so both sent and received read zero. I was connected to wifi and let the phone to go into sleep mode. I waited about ten minutes and sent myself the same email four times, each with a 750 kb attachment. It was sent to my .me address so it was push mail on my phone. Sure enough I checked a minute later while bringing the phone out of sleep mode and checked the data. It showed just 10kb sent but 1mb received which just doesn't tally with the 4 x 750kb mails received. It just isn't making sense.
He knows what you asked and has already answered it!
I thought I had read where the iOS4 (or maybe just the iPhone 4) was supposed to be able to keep wifi connections alive while inactive. If the phone is sitting there on a charger with a wifi connection available, why use the 3G?
