Does the iPhone 5 really need a case?

Does the iPhone 5 really need a case? ive been reading articles that says it doesn't, opinions please...

In that case (no pun intended), you may not need one. I agree, it does look and feel better without the case.  I bought a clear case so it still shows off the design, but the problem is the case itself scratches easily.
It's your call. But I would say, if you are not worried about dropping the phone (with AppleCare+, a replacement is only $49 as you may know), you do not absolutely need a case.

Does the iPhone 4s need a data plan inorder for "siri" to work or can you just use your local wifi?

It can use both in all the commercials they are using wifi im trying to find out just how much Siri depends on data but so far I think it mainly uses it to pull info up and for some reason to dictate email but it does work on carrier data I guess it's just slower  so you don't neccersarily need a data plan in place or have to dig into it to use Siri If you have wifi close by

  • At what point does the iPhone 5 need to charge?

At what voltage does the iPhone 5 need to charge?

When it gets low, typically at about 10% you get a prompt.  It is a good idea to let it go completely flat once a month

  • Why does the iPhone 4 need to send an SMS to activate FaceTime when the iPad 2 doesn't?

    Hi there.
I keep wondering why iPhone 4 need to send a international SMS to activate FaceTime when the iPad 2 doesn't?
It cost's 2,50 dkr ($0.48) every time it does that.
I have a mobile subscription where i get 5 hours talk time, Free SMS, Free MMS, Free talk to all with same subscription and 5GB data for 129 dkr/month ($24.77).
But the internation SMS is not free.
And it really bugs me that my danish iPhone has to send an SMS to England to acticate FaceTime that i only can use on WiFi.
I also have a iPad 2 (WiFi model), and it can activate FaceTime fine via WiFi. So why can't the iPhone 4 do that?
I really really need a good explanation to why i have to pay to activate FaceTime.
Why can't you make local numbers to send the SMS too, or do it via WiFi just like the iPad 2.
The strangest this is that you have to be on WiFi to use FaceTime, so why use the mobile network to activate FaceTime?

Where are you, what network are you on and where did you get your phone?
The fact that it uses SMS isn't really the issue here and no-one on this forum can answer the "why" question. We are end users, not Apple. The accepted answer is if it's going to tie facetime to your phone number (which it does) then that's the way it's got to work.
The puzzling part is why it would be sending one to England... unless of course, you purchased the phone in the UK and actually live in another region entirely.

  • Does the iphone 6 need a new SIM for Apple Pay?

There appears to be some disagreement on this issue. I activated my AT&T iphone 6 by putting my ip5 sim in the new phone. Everything works normally, but I got a text message from AT&T saying that my phone needed a new sim for all network features to work properly. Some people have been told by AT&T that this has to do with NFC/Apple Pay, that even though Apple Pay is built into the phone itself, it still needs some kind of special secure SIM to authenticate the phone or something. Does anyone have a definitive answer either way? It's not a big deal to just go to an AT&T store and get a new SIM before Apple Pay rolls out, but after experiencing a major activation headache on launch day, I'm reluctant to "fix what ain't broke", so to speak.

I've read nothing that indicates you'll need a new SIM for Apple Pay. However, it seems as if the easiest thing to do is to wait until it rolls out, and see if the SIM you have works. It's not as if being unable to use Apple Pay for a day or two should be a big problem.

  • How much free space does the iphone 3GS need

I only have MB's left, and after syncing it says 1.24GB, yet other times it will be 8, 7 or 600 left. I was wondering just how much space does it need to properly run
Everything is fine with it, fingers crossed, and probably a month till I get the new 4S. But just wondering.

If you do run out of Space, you will get an alert when syncing...
'Not enough free space' alert when trying to sync

  • Does your iPhone 4S need protection

I have a iPhone 4S since 3 weeks, and i really like the design. At the moment, i have a switcheasy Nude, but i dont like it, so i will send it back to the store.
So im looking for a new case, but im not sure if the iPhone really needs protection.
I think the bumper is pretty cool, it keeps the design of the iphone cool en slick. But wont scratch the backpanel of the iPhone too much? I allways put the phone in my pocket, and make sure that keys and stuff like that is in the other pocket. So is back protection really necessary ?
So who of you have an iPhone 4 or 4S, and have only the bumper as protection, so no sticker of something on the back? Do there appear any scratches??

I have never used any case or other form of protection on my iphone and have no damage.
I keep the iphone in my front pocket.

  • Does iPhone 4S really need a case?

So I just bought an iPhone 4S, and I'm wondering if it really needs a case, or a screen protector, or both. It just looks so good without it.

No.  A case will provide protection. How much depends on the case.  A screen protector is supposed to provide protection against scratches.  There is a debate on if this is necessary.  Personnally I use a holster case and a clear plastic case that surrounds the back and sides.  I also use a screen protector because it seems to reduce fingerprint smudges on the screen.

  • Does the iPhone need a case?

I'm getting my iPhone tomorrow and was just wondering, do they really need a case/screen protector? If so, would a hard case or silicon case be recommended?

do they really need a case/screen protector?
    I use a C.E.O. Glide from Marware.

It over protection if my phone is in my pocket or brief case.
But when I actually use the phone, it's out of the sleeve in all in naked beauty!

Does anyone know if my G3S Iphone will sync Itunes on my MAC Power PC G4, OSI0.4.11?  If it will, what operting system does the Iphone need?

My apologies, I read your post the wrong way. I see now that the original poster was confused about the specs and you were simply responding with the appropriate info.
I've gotten defensive after reading the forums. The forums are full of posters just looking to prove someone wrong or stupid, rather than being helpful. I shouldn't have assumed you were one of those people. Sorry.
I did my homework and discovered that my PowerPC will run Leopard. It can be purchased for $129 by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE. This is much cheaper than replacing my laptop.
I hope to upgrade my Mac soon, though! Can't believe this thing is still ticking. I love Apple.

Always be prepared. I once went to Curacao, where the plugs are different but the hotel provided one outlet that had North American style plugs. I didn't have any adapters so I got lucky that time. I carry them now when unsure.
Also, a short extension cord (three feet or so) with three or four outlets can also be a lifesaver.

  • Does the iphone 5 and iphone 5s use the same case

Does the iphone 5 and iphone 5s use the same case

Twice now you've given this useless answer.  What's the point in even replying?
Case dimensions look to be identical, but some cases will hinder the fingerprint scanner.  My Griffin Survivor will fit my brothers 5s easily, but as the home button is entirely covered, it's useless to him.

  • Why does the IPhone 4 get really hot, when you are making a phone call??

I can't seem to find the answer to this riddle . why does the iPhone 4 get really hot when you are making phone calls or when using face Time ??

    It doesn't.
There must be an issue with your iphone.
    Have you tried reset?  Restore?
Have you made an appointment at the genius bar to have them look at it?

  • I'm going to Italy. Do I need a voltage transformer or does the iPhone 4 convert automatically?

Does the iPhone automatically convert from USA voltage to continental Europe voltage?

I just returned from Italy (Florence, Venice, Rome) and the iphone voltage DOES convert automatically 110-240V.  As Julian stated, all I had to do to charge my iphone was attach the round prong adapter to it.  Ciao! Enjoy your trip.
