Does the iPhone support "Disk Use"

Does the iPhone support "Disk Use" like the iPod?

You can purchase a Mac Mini for $600. Connect your existing monitor, keyboard, and mouse to it and you have a Mac that includes a CD/DVD drive.
If not, once you factor in the same hardware doing a side by side comparison with a PC box assembler, a Mac is not as expensive or more expensive as you might think. Take out needing to purchase anti-virus, anti-spyware and anti-adware software and the associated annual renewal cost, along with access to software included on a Mac that probably requires an additional purchase with a PC such as iLife, and the cost difference is decreased.
That and the ability to run Windows natively on a Mac if needed or wanted, and you basically have two computers for the price of one. The cost comes down even more with this factored in.

  • Does the iphone support the use of a wildcard certificate?

Does the iphone support the use of a wildcard certificate?
Our exchange infrastructure utilises a wildcard (*.companyname certificate) from Godaddy.
    - Connects fine and authenticates
    - Can manually sync and pull emails
    - Can Send and Delete emails
However server is not establishing the activesync connection and ping so mail can be pushed to the device.
My guess is its a problem with the wildcard certificate that is used, WM5.0 devices didnt work with it, does anyone one know if the iPhone supports this?
    - I can get to OWA fine which uses the same wildcard cert.
    - WM6.0 devices push mail fine.
    Thanks.

  • Does  the iphone 4s only use 4g or 3g to?

Does  the iphone 4s only use 4g or 3g to?

As far as I know, the phone uses the best available network. That's why you don't have the option anymore to switch off 3G network.
If iPhone is connected to the Internet via the cellular data network, the (UMTS/EV-DO ), (EDGE), or (GPRS/1xRTT) icon appears in the status bar.
The 3G (UMTS) cellular network supports simultaneous voice and data communications on GSM networks. For all other cellular connections, you can’t use Internet services while you’re talking on the phone unless iPhone also has a Wi-Fi connection to the Internet. Depending on your network connection, you may not be able to receive calls while iPhone transfers data over the cellular network—when downloading a webpage, for example.

  • Does the iPhone support comcast calendar

    Hi,
I have the iPhone 3gs and use comcast as one of my e-mail address. Is there a way to sync up with the Comcast calendar with the iPhone? I've looked quite a bit and can't seem to find any information on this. I'm having no problems at all sending or receiving emails through Comcast.
    Thanks, Jerry

  • Does the iPhone support pre-paid phone cards?

Just debating whether I get an iPhone to replace both my iPod Touch and my phone.
Does it support pre-paid calling cards like Bell's and the other phone companies?

The better question would be does the company you want to get pre-paid cards from support the iPhone.
For example, in the US, AT&T will not. You may be able to get it to work for voice, but as soon as they realize you have an iPhone, they will cut you off. I believe T-Mobile works fine, but you can't use T-Mobile's 3G network in the US as it's not compatible.
Check with the carrier(s) you want to use. Technically, an unlocked iPhone 4 will work on any compatible GSM network, though not all functions will work depending on the network provider.

  • Does the iPhone support 802.11n?

After reading the tech specs via the link below, it looks like the iPhone does not support 802.11n, however, I remember reading somewhere that it did.
    Can anyone confirm?
    http://www.apple.com/iphone/specs.html

No and not necessary in respect to data transfer with the iPhone since no data can be transferred from a computer or hard drive to the iPhone or from an iPhone to a computer or hard drive available on an "N" network.
Connecting an iPhone to an "N" network where all computers are "N" compatible lowers the overall data transfer speed between computers connected to the network.
"N" has no effect on internet access speed for connected computers and the iPhone which is determined by the ISP with none offering Internet access upload and download speeds approaching data transfer speeds between connected conputers.

  • Does the iPhone support WAP Billing?

One of our customers asks to integrate WAP Billing into a native iPhone app. As far as we understand the iPhone does support WAP for MMS distribution but not any further.
The question here is: Is there any chance to integrate WAP Billing into a native iPhone app? We guess embedding a UIWebView would not help as it doesn't render WAP pages.
If somebody could shed some light on this topic, that would be greatly appreciated.
    Best regards,
    RR

Direct-to-customer billing - for what type of product/service?
Expansion of the app, say unlocking of features, or perhaps being able to buy a bucket of golf balls out of a vending machine via the iPhone...?

  • Does the iPhone support WPA Enterprise?

    Hi,
I'm really keen to purchase an iPhone when they appear over here in the UK.
We've just rolled out a wireless network here configured to use WPA Enterprise i.e. no WEP. Our baseline config is WPA/TKIP and after that you use EAP-PEAP/MSCHAPV2 or EAP-TTLS/MSCHAP to authenticate using your university userid and password.
When i was configuring our 802.1X network, the one operating system that beat everything else out there hands down was OS X. It didn't matter if it was wired or wireless, OS X just worked. It was a joy to use ... unlike Windoze.
I sort of assumed that as the iPhone had OS X in the middle it would have the same capabilities as the desktop systems. However, I've heard a couple of snippets saying that it only supports WEP. Is that the case?
It would be a major pain in the a**e if it only supported WEP. While I could set up a separate SSID for an iPhone network I'd really really rather not.
Anyone got any info on the iPhones wireless capabilities?
    TIA
    Alex

    B**r!!!
oh well, one can only hope that there'll be an upgrade real soon now
    Alex

  • Does the iphone support Quicktime VR files?

Can I play Quicktime VR files on the iPhone?
    Thanks.

No. The only video formats supported are H-264 and MPEG-4. See page 201 of the User Guide:

  • Does the iPhone support a "Random Play All" feature?

After reading the iPhone manual on-line, I did not see direct support for a "Random Play All" option.
Please tell me that this was an omission in the manual and it is directly supported by the iPhone, because this is a deal breaker for our family if it is not directly suported.

It might help if I had any idea what that feature was.
Do you mean a shuffle feature-where it randomly picks music tracks and plays them?
If so-the 3g iPhone has it.

  • Does the iphone support the "crossfade" playback option?

I'm trying without success to find an option on my iphone that would let me turn on the "crossfade" playback option for my music. I love this feature on my ipod nano and the new Itunes, but I can't seem to find that feature on my iphone's ipod. Is it just not possible to do this on the iphone?

  • What encryption does the iphone 3gs/3g support?

There no mention of what WLAN encryption is supported.
Ie: WPA, WPA2, 64 bit WEP, or 128 bit WEP.
    What does the iphone support?

It definitely supports WPA2, because that's what I use on my home wi-fi network, and I'm not interested in anything less secure.

  • HT204023 Does the iPhone Personal Hotspot support WDS?

I understand that WDS is a requirement for range extending an iPhone Hotspot.  Does the iPhone support WDS?  Alternatively, Has any tried using a range extender to boost the signal of an iPhone hotspot? If so, which manufacturer and model number?  Thx.

Do you honestly think that such a feature would exist on the phone if it had the potential to damage it? Use some common sense.
