Does the Macbook Air 11 inch use the same charger as the 13 inch?

I'm looking to buy a in-car charger for my macbook air 11 inch and am wondering if it will also work with my sister's macbook air 13 inch.

Not sure about in-car stuff but generally you can use it for both.

Does my Macbook Air 13 inch need to be replaced if it only gets 5 1/2 hours of battery (by just surfing the web) and I just purchased it?
The only reason I got the 13 inch was because it had a better battery life over the 11. I can't imagine the 11 inch getting 3 hours or somethings that's ridiculous.

There are a lot of things that affect battery life. Flash Player is a major culprit in decreased battery life. Watching streaming video is another. Check out "Click To Flash". Helped me a lot. I have the late 2010 MBA 13 with SnowLeopard (no Lion) and average 7-9 hours of battery life.

HT1237 Why does my MacBook Air (11-inch, Mid 2011) has the SMC version (1.74f3)?

According to the article (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1237), the latest SMC version of MacBook Air should be 1.73f65 (SMC 1.6). However, I found the SMC version is 1.74f3, which should be MacBook Air (13-inch)'s.
Can someone tell me why?

Does the Kate Spade Fairmount Stripe 13 laptop sleeve fits Macbook Air 13 inch perfectly? Or is it like still big for MBA? As it states that it was designed for MBP. I would like to get one sleeve which is not too big as this would defeat my purpose of getting a MBA.. I'm considering to get the MBA 13 inch partly because I fell in love with the Kate spade's sleeve. Otherwise, I would rather get the 11 inch. Can anyone who purchased the Kate spade fairmount stripe 13' sleeve give me some useful opinions? Thanks lot !

If that's the one you want then no. It doesn't fit 'perfectly' because it wasn't designed for the MBA. It will cover your laptop completely but for obvious reasons it'll be too big.
Also I'm curious as to how a sleeve being too big defeats the purpose of getting a MBA. O.o

If you really have a new MacBook, iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand come with the Mac for free.
As you see their price at the Mac App Store, it's clear that there's a problem with your MacBook. Simply return it if you purchased it less than 14 days ago and you will receive a new MacBook

Is anyone else finding the Macbook Air 11 inch slow for programming work?

I have a 2010 Macbook Air 11 inch, and it noticeably lags when I use tools like Gnu Screen, Tmux, and Vim, especially with vertical splits and during Screen/Tmux window switching.
Does anyone notice this performance issue?

Try resetting your system's System Management Controller (SMC) to see if that helps the problem. The SMC is responsible for managing the feedback for the fans to respond to temperature changes.

I have a brand new MacBook Air 11 inch, 4gb RAM and 256 gb SSD where the screen flickered abnormally and got dead all of a sudden while uploading a photograph in FB. Can anybody help?

I have a new MacBook Air 11 inch, 4gb RAM, 256 SSD and use Mavericks OS. It is still under waranty period.
Just few days ago while I was uploading a photograph in facebook, the screen started flickering abnoromally. I tried using the escape button but nothing was working so switched off by pressing the power button.
After few minutes I tried to switch it on but my system never waked up. Called up the Apple Support, did SMC and PRAM but nothing worked. Then I was advised to take it to Apple's authorised service centre.
At the service centre the engineers diagnoised and then said that the MLB/mother board needs to be replaced. Had waited for six-long days and today they had replaced the MLB/mother board. Now, the system came to life but nothing has booted. The screen goes white and a '?' question mark icon keeps on flickering.
After thoroughly diagnoising it the engineer said that now the problem is with the SSD and the worse thing is all my important documents and photographs etc are no more there. And I don't have a backup of the same!
While Apple Support contact centre is assuring they would replace any other parts if found faulty, but I feel differently. First, the MLB/mother board was changed now they say it is SSD problem - so if the SSD too is replaced there are possibilities of more faults coming up. All I can see and feel that this particular machine has turned out to be architectually deffective that calls for immediate replacement.
Right now I am using a friend's windows pc to write this mail.
Feeling completely miserable - all my expectatations gone after investing in such an expensive machine, loss of all my data, wastage of time and energy and to top it all affecting my daily work.
Can anybody please advise what shall I do?

Take the system to an Apple store to be fixed or replaced as the one you have has defective hardware.

try this
1- You have to restart your MBA holding down the Command+S keys, and this will take you into Single User Mode and it’s Terminal interface.
2- Then you have to check the filesystem. to do this you have to type the following command in the terminal interface:
fsck -fy
3- Then you have to mount the root drive with write option enabled so you can apply and save any changes. Type this in the temrinal interface:
mount -uw /
4- And then type this command exactly as you see it here:
rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
5- Reboot your MBA by typing this in the terminal interface:
reboot
6- After you reboot, you will be see the “Welcome Wizard” startup screen. Follow the wizard and create a new user account. This new account name must be different from the onewhose password you want to recover.
7- Continue and boot into your Mac OS X with the new account you have just created, this new user account is an Administrator and has administrative access
8- Now that you're logged in, go to System Preferences
9- Click on Users & Groups
10- Click on the Lock icon and use your newly created user name and password if asked. This will allow you to make changes to other user accounts
11- On the user panel select the user account whose password you have forgotten and then click on the Change Password... button.
12- Enter your new password
13- Reboot/restart your MBA and now you can log back in with your old account. If you want you can delete the user account you created following this steps.

Macbook air (11 inch) shows very low battery percentage when the charger is plugged in

My macbook air cannot be used when the charger is plugged in. The battery percentage will go all the way down to 0% very soon and the computer will shut down then. For example, it shows 1:40 left in the battery when I did not plug in the charger, but once I plug the charger in , it will show 0:43 left instantly. What might be the problem and how to resolve it?
PS: the macbook air can be charged when I shut it down. And it is no problem when the battery is not empty and the charger is not plugged in.

the thing is that when i did the clean install they did check with a hardware test first and nothing was wrong, i guess it was a false-positive, is there anything in the kernel report from which i can say it's either hardware or software related

You have a lot of things going on here...you are keeping the Air plugged in all the time, you should run on the battery periodically to give it some exercise, you are keeping it on all the time which may be keeping it under constant or near constant load, and you are doing all of that to download pirated content, for which you will get no help on here.
