so youre telling me all i gotta do is install the lastest bootcamp updates and thats it? its compatible?
what about a non mac computer like a sony vaio for example, does it work there?
Yes, it is compatible with Windows via Boot Camp on your Mac. I have been using it ever since it had come out. I love it! It has proved to be the best mouse that I have ever used.
As for using it with a Sony VAIO, it will not work unless you have the specific drivers. At best, you will get limited functionality.

  • Does the Magic Mouse work with Macbook pros?

I've read on a website that the Magic Mouse only works with the iMacs they ship with.
    So, no Macbooks?
    Can someone confirm this?

I just got my magic mouse and it indeed does work with my 2.8ghz MBP.
HOWEVER, none of the scrolling features seem to work. The mouse connected to my bluetooth without any problems, it left and right clicks fine but zero touch surface scrolling seems to work.
Tried reconnecting, on/off, computer restart etc. and no love from the magic mouse whatsoever.
I'm all ears for any solutions.

  • Does the Magic Mouse work with a MacBook (early 2008)

Just wondering before I decide to buy it.

As long as bluetooth is installed it depends more on software level.  Since you show as 10.6.7 then a definite yes.
    Here are the software requirements:
Mac OS X v10.5.8 or later with Wireless Mouse Software Update 1.0* or Mac OS X v10.6.1 or later with Wireless Mouse Software Update 1.0
Note that the update isn't needed with 10.6.2 and later because it's already included.

  • HT4111 does the magic mouse pair with an ipad?

Does the magic mouse work with an ipad?

bburik, I do not think so. Ipad is all touch screen, and the pointer will not show up on the ipad. The ipad is made to only be touch screen. But what you can do, is buy an external keyboard for the ipad, and then you can at least type with an actuall keyboard. But no magic mouse.

I have boot camp in my MacBook Pro to use AutoCAD. Can I use the magic mouse on my Windows side and use it to work in AutoCAD?

Yes and no. The gestures wont work so it just becomes a regular scroll-wheel mouse.

  • Does the iPod Mini Work with Windows?

I am thinking of buying an iPod mini but I don't have an Apple computer. Does the iPod mini work with Windows efficiently? Thanks....

    Hello Ian,
Can you be really specific about the necessary Windows XP updates needed? I run XP Pro on a rather new computer and just got an IPOD mini. I'm ready to tear my hair out because iTunes seems to crash my computer every time I change one CD for another. iTunes runs REALLY, REALLY slow for me. Also read on the board that iTunes 6.0 and the mini don't work well together. True or not true?
    Thanks - Genevieve

  • Does the lnkfix_vista.zip work for window server 2008 R2 enterprise ?

All icons on my exchange 2010 server show as .lnk, any icon I click on starts notepad... does the lnkfix_vista.zip work on Windows server 2008 R2 enterprise ?
    thank you.

This issue because there is no SPN for the Front End pool FQDN. Rather than adding an SPN I just deleted my front end server from the topology builder and added a new one using the FQDN of the actual lync server and it worked fine.

  • Does the magic mouse not have the feature of viewing all open pages on desktop like you do when you use the side buttons of the wired mouse?

Does the magic mouse not have the feature of viewing all open pages on the desktop like you do when you use the side buttons of the wired mouse?

No, you'll have to use Mission control for that.  It's either located on the dock, the F3 key on recent laptops on a swipe on the trackpad.

  • Magic Mouse works in Windows 7 x64... Until Reboot

So I've tried every troubleshooting solution I could find and after hours of fiddling around, and I finally got the Magic Mouse to work in Win 7 x64 (Boot Camp). However, after rebooting it no longer worked. I have downloaded the drivers listed on Apple's website and did the extract 64 bit version. I am using Boot Camp 3.0, so "Generic Bluetooth" is not listed in the Device Manager... only the correct Apple Bluetooth Radio is listed. The steps I went through to get the Magic Mouse up and running the first time are kind of a blur, but I believe they went something like this:
    1. Uninstalled Magic Mouse and Apple Bluetooth drivers from Device Manager
    2. Let Windows find new hardware and reinstall
    3. Chose to search for Bluetooth devices > Right Clicked Magic Mouse > Checked HID Mouse (or something similar) in Services tab
    4. Windows installed drivers and mouse worked. Magic Mouse was listed as Bluetooth HID instead of Apple Wireless Mouse (which I've seen before)
Tested this configuration out and everything seemed to be working great. However, I rebooted my system, ensured I didn't have any issues in Mac OS X (which I didn't) then booted back into Windows. At this point, the mouse no longer worked. I noticed in the Device Manager that there were 2x Bluetooth HIDs listed instead of the one I saw earlier. When I displayed the Bluetooth devices, the Magic Mouse was listed with a yellow exclamation point. I attempted to disable each and reboot to see if one was conflicting with the other, but it did not resolve the issue. Anyone know why this is happening or what I can do to get this mouse working?

Just to update... I can now add the mouse each time I load up Windows. I just need to uninstall any Bluetooth HIDs located in the Device Manager and remove the mouse from the list of bluetooth devices. However, each time I reboot into Windows, the first thing that happens is it install another Bluetooth HID. During the login screen the mouse is unresponsive and when going into the device manager after a reboot there is always two of the same Bluetooth HIDs listed. This seems to be the problem during the startup but how do I stop Windows from installing the same device twice?
I have also attempted to install the 64bit drivers supplied on the website and the mouse changes from Bluetooth HID to Apple Wireless Mouse. Once it finishes installing, the mouse no longer works. I have to repeat the steps and uninstall the Apple drivers to get it to work again

  • Is it possible to disable the magic mouse scrolling in windows 7?

I've partitioned my hard drive with bootcamp to run windows 7 for a handful of games that aren't mac friendly. The problem is that once I installed the drivers to use the magic mouse, the scroll keeps jumping around at inconvenient times while I'm playing which makes it pretty difficult. How can I turn the scrolling off? I like having the scroll on the trackpad, but I only want the left and right click on the mouse.

I use MagicMouse on iMac with Windows 7 running (installed through BootCamp). Got sick of annoying horizontal scrolling. The solution described above has helped me to disable it. Here is what I've done in steps:
    1) go to http://www.autohotkey.com/ and download an app (a script editor).
    2) Install and run the program - please note that it will not open as it runs in the background
    3) Rightclick on the desktop -> choose "New" -> "AutoHotkey Script" (a new script file will be created on the desktop) -> name it as you wish (e.g. "Mouse_HScroll")
    4) Rightclick on the file you've just created and choose "Edit Script" from the menu.
    5) Add these three lines below existing text in the file:
    WheelLeft::return
    WheelRight::return
    #MaxHotkeysPerInterval 5000
    6) Save file
    7) Run "Convert .ahk to .exe" program from the package installed earlier and browse the file you've just created, hit ">Convert<" -> .exe file should be created. Run this file -> the scrolling should be disabled now.
    7) You may wish to move this file to Start/"Autorun" folder, so it would be launched automatically each time you reboot your Mac/PC.
    Hope this helps! Good Luck

  • Why does the magic mouse battery level drop suddenly?

I typically get, oh, about 3 weeks off of a pair of AA alkaline 1.5V batteries on my magic mouse.
What I don't understand though is not really being able to track the battery level in the bluetooth menu on my iMac 21.5".
The battery level even now is at 100%. What happens is is that it stays at 100% for several weeks and then all of a sudden drops to 7% or so, and I get a low battery warning. Then after a couple of days the battery will drain out.
After it drops down to 7% I can usually track the battery drain in the menu. But I never see it at 90% or 80% or 50%, etc. It just drops down suddenly near the end of the battery life.
Do other people see more continuous changes of the battery level?
The same thing happens with my bluetooth Apple keyboard that came with the iMac. Right now it is showing a level of 100%. It typically lasts for months instead of weeks, but I will never see an in-between battery level value until I get a low-battery warning.
I'm thinking of rechargeable batteries for my magic mouse. But I see too many negatives posted here in the forums about that, so I am hesitant about investing in those batteries and a charger if it's not going to work well.
    Thanks,
    doug

Maybe it's a Mac model issue? I'm running the late 2009 model, purchased in February 2010, and running Lion.
But I've never seen the battery level display in-between values.
Here's what it is showing now and I replaced the batteries over a week ago.
Do your batteries also last a few weeks in the magic mouse?
    Thanks,
    doug

  • Will the magic mouse work well with my iMac G5?

I was wondering before i buy the Magic mouse cause my mighty mouse is getting old, if it will work with my iMac?
i did upgrade to leopard so i was wondering if it will work?
    thanks!

Based on the system requirements, on the product listing page at the Apple Store
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB829LL/A
it will work. Scrolling works with Leopard. +Momentum Scrolling+ makes the scroll continue a bit after you stop the motion with your finger, like the action has "momentum." Snow Leopard is required for that feature to work.

  • Does the Magic Mouse Laser Light Up?

I was having a bit of trouble with my Magic Mouse and it was not tracking properly. A battery change seems to have helped. But I looked at the underside of the mouse and did not see any light coming from the optical port. For the life of me I cannot remember if the Magic Mouse is supposed to have a red laser light visible on its underside or not. Can anyone help with the answer?
    Regards,
    Steve M.

    Steve,
The Magic Mouse doesn't have a visible laser light, just the green power light.

  • Can the Magic Mouse work without clicking?

I thought it would have the same options as the Magic Trackpad on my Macbook Pro, but see no way to open/close programs, etc. without clicking. I have an injury that makes the clicking action painful, so have been grateful for the tapping option on the trackpad, and bought the Magic Mouse thinking it would have the same features. I get the swiping between pages, scrolling etc. Anyone know if I'm missing something on this? The demos on the settings didn't give the option, so I'm thinking the Magic Mouse isn't as talented as the Magic Trackpad.

If you want to, 'er, "teach" it more tricks you will need a third party utility like MagicPrefs.
    Other mouse utilities:
    BetterTouchTool
    SteerMouse
    MagicDriver
I don't know if any of these guys will do exactly what you want but it may be worth looking at them.

  • Simple question.  Will my Magic Mouse work in Windows 8 Boot Camp 5.1 (Mavericks)

I think my question says it all.  My magic mouse is not working and will not pair with my Windows 8 Boot Camp install done from the Mavericks Boot Camp setup.  Should it work?  Does it not work?  Thanks.

you don't mention what mac you have because I suspect that the bluetooth driver for windows only support 1 input at the time over bluetooth
my magic trackpad works fine with bluetooth but my bluetooth mice require being run as usb device it can't connect using bluetooth at all
