Does the Netweaver Portal generates a W3C log file ?

Hello,
Does the Netweaver Portal generates a W3C log file ?
Is there any way to configure it in netweaver?
Does anybody has Any documentation for the same ?
Please Guide!
Thanks,
Smita

Hi Smita
Did you find an answer to your question, were you able to get W3C logs for portal. We have a similar requirement from our performance monitoring team, they want to collect the actual time taken in httpaccess logs for portal.
Thanks

  • WebDynpro ABAP integrated into the NetWeaver Portal - One for Mr Jung :)

    Hi
    <h2>Introduction</h2>
I've developed a WebDynpro Component that uses 8 other components.
The initial component has 1 view with a PhaseIndicator element with 8 phases.
Selecting a phase pops up a window of the appropriate components used as usage components.
Also, depending on certain config tables some windows might popup as soon as the application runs.
I've created an application for the component with the PhaseIndicator.
    <h4>The application works perfectly !</h4>
    <h2>Problem</h2>
<h4>When I integrate the application into the NetWeaver Portal it also works perfectly, in Dev that is.</h4>
When moving the application and all it's components to QA it also works perfectly if run on it's own. But, when embedded in an iview in the Portal, strange things happen
All the components that are usage components in the 1st component is displayed in the first window but not as pop ups.
They are all listed below each other with plenty of white space between them, below each other in one huge scrollable window.
    <h2>My Investigations</h2>
I've run a trace in Dev and QA and discovered that just before the Windows are displayed different code is run in the two systems. In Dev, the system executes a method of the class CL_WDR_SSR_LS but in QA the system executes the contructor class of a local method lcl_repository in the include LWDR_RUNTIME_REPOSITORYF12.
    <h2>Things I've tried - but did not work</h2>
    1) Removed my custom theme.
    2) Re-transported everything.
    3) Bounced the QA Portal
    4) Transported everything to Prod - It works perfectly in and out of the Prod system and Portal. BTW The ECC system of QA was refreshed from Prod 2 weeks ago.
    <h2>Finally - My Question</h2>
What the bleep do I do now
    Thank you for reading.

    Hi Bala,
thank you. This solved my problem.
Could you explain what the caused the problem?
    Best regards,

  • To where does the LGWR write information in redo log buffer ?

Suppose my online redo logfiles are based on filesystems .I want to know to where the LGWR writes information in redo log buffer ? Just write to filesystem buffer or directly write to disk ? And the same case is associated with the DBWR and the datafiles are based on filesystems too ?

It depends on the filesytem. Normally there is also a filesystem buffer too, which is where LGWR would write.Yes but a redo log write must always be a physical write.
    From http://asktom.oracle.com/pls/ask/f?p=4950:8:15501909858937747903::NO::F4950_P8_DISPLAYID,F4950_P8_CRITERIA:618260965466
Tom, I was thinking of a scenario that sometimes scares me...
**From a database perspective** -- theoretically -- when data is commited it
inevitably goes to the redo log files on disk.
However, there are other layers between the database and the hardware. I mean,
the commited data doesn't go "directly" to disk, because you have "intermediate"
structures like i/o buffers, filesystem buffers, etc.
    1) What if you have commited and the redo data has not yet "made it" to the redo
log. In the middle of the way -- while this data is still in the OS cache -- the
OS crashes. So, I think, Oracle is believing the commited data got to the redo
logs -- but is hasn't in fact **from an OS perspective**. It just "disapeared"
while in the OS cache. So redo would be unsusable. Is it a possible scenario ?
the data does go to disk. We (on all os's) use forced IO to ensure this. We
open files for example with O_SYNC -- the os does not return "completed io"
until the data is on disk.
It may not bypass the intermediate caches and such -- but -- it will get written
to disk when we ask it to.
    1) that'll not happen. from an os perspective, it did get to disk

  • What does the row source generator does ?

    Hi,
I am looking for a small sort of defination of row source generator. actually i have gone through the defintaion, and bit confused.please follow your defination with an example which could give me better see .i am confused in these line
"it outputs the execution plan for the sql statements" and " the row source generator is collection of row sources structred in the form of tree".
    thanks
    Alok.

The source of these words is a the Oracle documentation.
The row source generator is a translator: it converts the optimal execution plan into a concrete set of instructions for the SQL engine. That, at least, is my understanding.
Perhaps it might help to think of it as an exercise in navigation. The optimal plan for getting from A to B is to go via D and F. But what you tell the driver is, "go 2 miles down A-road, take third turning on left, go straight ahead at the D crossroads, take the first road on the right, then it's the third exit off the F roundabout and B is the lefthand road at the next t-junction". Of course, the problem witrh analogies is that they can confuse the issue rather than illuminate it.
So my advice is, don't sweat the details. Approach the optimizer as a black box and get a feel for what it does by playing with queries. Then re-read the architectural definition and see if it makes more sense.
    Cheers, APC

  • Does the iplanet Portal server support other existing standalone Webservers/application Servers the likes of weblogic, websphere etc?

If so, will the session management aspect be looked after by the iPlanet Portal server?

The new version of Portal (6.0 I believe) will run on weblogic or websphere as well as iAS.

  • Does the netweaver Sp14 trial version include TREX server ?

HI ,I download the netweaver Sp14  java trial version ,I found the install description include the TREX.
But when I installed sucessfully the netweaver ,I found the the trex server is not installed in the netweaver,
Is that mean if I want to do some index on KM ,I have to find the license to install TREX server, then I can use trex in the netweaver ?

    Hi,
I think TREX is an individual installation. Check the installation guide for the package you downloaded. You can check them from http://service.sap.com/instguides

  • Integrating display templates with the Netweaver Portal

    Hi friends,
can you please help me how to the integrate SAP xMII display template with the Netweaer portal
    Thanks
    Srikanth

    Hi Srikanth
In case of integrating into NW Portal,
    1. U first need to create an IRPT page which contains the desired Display Templates is/are present.
    2. Then in the NW Portal <b>Content Administration</b>, create an iView with URL configured in this iView, where the URL should be that path name of target source where the IRPT page is stored such as URL : http://<servername>/<TargetFolder>/<YourIRPTPageName>.irpt
    3. Do the rest content objects like Page, WorkSet and Role after u hv successfully configured iView with that IRPT page (u may test this by clicking "Preview" button)

  • Portal Java Systems_GC Heap Log file

    Hi,
Does anyone know how to read the GC Heap log file which is usually named in the format of "_std_serverN.out_"  and located under
    /usr/sap/<InstanceNumber>/work directory ?
Or if you know of any website or document that provides more information in regards to this log file.
    All inputs are appreciated!

    Hello Musa,
    You should check this documentation:
    http://java.sun.com/docs/hotspot/gc1.4.2/
It explains quite in detail the garbage collector process for the Sun JDK. If you are using the IBM one instead, the behaviour is different. IBM JDK has its own GC log (no FullGC, for example)

  • Why does the site manager create c:\ folders for files that don't belong to the site via FTP?

    Hello everyone,
now I've been using Dreamweaver since Ultradev 1.0 and I have just recently upgraded to CS 5.5 Web Edition. Before that I used CS3. I've allways been very satisfied with Macromedia and Adobe products until now
Now I don't know whats happened in the last few years but I am getting the impression that the quality of Dreamweaver used to be alot more stable.
Developing for more than half my life I understand that bugs are usual and that not everything can be cared for, but to be quite honest I also know that there are bugs that just should not happen when you ship a product.
On the other hand I do love some of the enhancements that have come with 5.5, for example the Javascript Framework integration and jQuery code hinting features but what I really cannot understand is why the heck is Dreamweaver automatically uploading files that do not belong to the currently open site to the ftp server? I cannot think of any scenario in which this would be appropriate behaviour. I'd understand it if the files somehow contained links (CSS, JS, PHP, etc.) to the currently open site, but they don't! Dreamweaver simply sets out, every now and again, to creating a totally "dumb" folder structure on my ftp servers when I open a file from outside of the site - which I do very often to copy code I used in other projects.
It's just frustrating having to cleanup the ftp servers because Dreamweaver created folders like this "c:\localhost_root_folder\client_folder\client_project_folder\www\.... and so on", and saves a file in there that has nothing to do with the currently open site.
Now I've looked for settings that would supress this behaviour but I could'nt find any.
Also, I really don't want to stop using the automatic upload function because it speeds up development time significantly.
Does anyone know how to work around this issue, or even better, does anyone know why this behaviour is happening and what it's purpose is?
    Thanks in advance.
    David

... what I really cannot understand is why the heck is Dreamweaver automatically uploading files that do not belong to the currently open site to the ftp server? I cannot think of any scenario in which this would be appropriate behaviour. I'd understand it if the files somehow contained links (CSS, JS, PHP, etc.) to the currently open site, but they don't! Dreamweaver simply sets out, every now and again, to creating a totally "dumb" folder structure on my ftp servers when I open a file from outside of the site - which I do very often to copy code I used in other projects.
Dreamweaver doesn't "automatically upload" anything unless you have it set to on save. This is a bad practice if you aren't 100% sure of what you're doing. You may see it as a time saver, but if you have to go back two or three times and clean everything up, it isn't. Additionally, you select what is uploaded or not uploaded. If you choose to upload the entire root folder every time, then Dreamweaver will upload everything inside it... not automatically, but because you chose it.
As to the "dumb folder structure", when you define a site, YOU and YOU ALONE define the folder structure. If you are working in multiple sites at once (bad practice unless your are extremely meticulous about details) odds are you will sooner or later save a file from one site, with another site open in the Files Panel and Dreamweaver will save the file to the open site, not the one you opened it from (see why it's a bad practice to do this?).
It's just frustrating having to cleanup the ftp servers because
    Dreamweaver created folders like this
    "c:\localhost_root_folder\client_folder\client_project_folder\www\... .
and so on", and saves a file in there that has nothing to do with the
    currently open site.
It reads like you have defined a testing server and are using it when  you put files. C:\localhost is a testing server protocol. If you are  testing files and then attempt to put files from the testing server  instead of the root folder, they will have the filepath from the testing  server and not from the root folder file structure. Again a bad  practice unless you are meticulous about details and remember to switch  back to the root folder from the testing server panel BEFORE you put  files.

  • What's The Terminal Command To Find Apache Log Files?

    I can't find it anywhere.
    Thank you.

    It looks like either:
    $ grep ErrorLog /private/etc/apache2/httpd.conf
    # ErrorLog: The location of the error log file.
    # If you do not specify an ErrorLog directive within a <VirtualHost>
    ErrorLog "/private/var/log/apache2/error_log"
    or
    /usr/sbin/apachectl -V | egrep 'HTTPD_ROOT|ERRORLOG'
    -D HTTPD_ROOT="/usr"
    -D DEFAULTERRORLOG="logs/errorlog"
Though red_menace probably knows better that I.

  • How does the system decide where to put a file on the desktop?

So you've just created some sort of file, and you choose to save it to the desktop.   A second later--presto!--the file icon appears on the screen.
How does the computer decide where on the desktop to put that icon?

I'm not 100% on this, but I think the system will save files to the last destination you nominated unless you designate another destination at the point of saving. I guess you previously saved something to the Desktop.
Just tested it on my two Macs and that's how it behaves here.

  • How does the icon get created for a saved file

In my program I allow saving files using JFileChooser and ActionListener.
In the constructor of the main class which extends JFrame I also set an icon by saying:
    this.setIconImage(new ImageIcon("image.jpg").getImage());
This does not only set an icon on the title bar and the minimized window, it also creates an icon on my saved files. However, the image quality for the icon on my saved files is bad, even though the image quality for the other icons is ok. The size of the icon image I am providing is close to the size of the icon image on my saved files.
How did the icon get created for my saved files? Is it possible to improve the image quality?
    Thanks for looking at this!

    I just realized that
    this.setIconImage(new ImageIcon("image.jpg").getImage())
did not create the icon for my saved files.
So what did create it? I did not program it!
However, I happen to have an icon file Ananya.ico where I have my java project. I use if for my installation file. Did Java use this icon?
    Please help! Thanks!
