Does the new MacBook Pro come with a disk drive

Hi
Does the 13" retina display MacBook pros come fitted with a disc drive ??
Thanks

No, it does not. However, when you are customizing the MacBook Pro with Retina display on the Apple Online Store, it gives you the option to purchase an external disc drive, AKA the Apple Super Drive. If you are purchasing from an Apple Retail Store, they sell these there, too, so just ask.
I hope I answered your question.

great laptop I just got one two days ago...
You would remove the battery then unscrew the cover and reveal the Memory Slots there are 2 which will have 2 1GB sticks in there if you wanna upgrade to 4GB you will need to remove the 1GB sticks and replace with 2 2GB sticks...

  • Does the new macbook pro 13" with i7 usually heat up a lot?

Hi Guys, Ive got a brand new 13" macbook pro with the i7 processor. It gets really hot when im doing something simple like watching online videos. is this usual? i only got the machine yesterday

From a processor standpoint, watching videos is anything but "something simple." Lots of stuff has to happen to make nice movies on-screen. So the answer is "yes"--it's normal.
The limits on my 13-inch 2012 MBP for core temps are shown as 221F/105C. What you "feel" may be warm but probably not to those levels. Macs are designed to do a safety shutdown if the internal temps get too close to the point of being dangerous.
When watching videos, place the MBP on a firm flat surface so air gets underneath, and make sure nothing obstructs the hinge area on the back of the case. The air intakes and exhaust are both there. Don;t set it on your lap without a lab board or use it on a blanket of pillow.
If you wish to monitor your temps in real numbers so you don't have to guess, I recommend this free utility:

If it continues to be a concern to your peace of mind, by all means have Apple check it out. It's under warranty.

  • Does the newest macbook pro come with iDVD?

i made a video of my summer vacation and tried to finalise it with iDVD but i was unable to find it. Is that normal or is it supposed to come with it? And when i tried to finalise it and export it to iDVD it said it was possible but it couldn't find it.

No, iDVD and iWeb are no longer included with new Macs. They are  only available on the stand-alone iLife installer DVD now. I think the change occurred when Lion was released.

  • Doesn't the new macbook pro come with any graphics software?

I know windows comes with Paint. Does Mac have anything similiar to this?

I do not know Paint so hard to comment. However GIMP is  freeware compariable to photoshop.
I too use Graphic Converter and about 5 or 6 others.
    ImageTricks is another freeware.
    hope this helps

  • Does the new MacBook Pro have an optical drive?

Quick, easy question - does the new MacBook Pro come with an optical drive? Or does one have to purchase an external optical drive if one wants one?

Depends on which one you buy. The Retina models do not and if you need one, have to purchase the external SuperDrive for an additional cost. The other non-Retina models, 13" and 15", do come with an internal slot-loading SuperDrive. There are, as yet, no more 17" models and no announcement whether they will be released later.

Does the Mac Book Pro come with a dvd drive?

Currently, only the 13" "classic" style comes with one. For a Retina model you need to buy an external Superdrive.

  • Why does the new MacBook Pro 13 no longer come with a graphics card?

Why does the new MacBook Pro no longer come with a graphics card?  Or at least make it so you can opt for one.

I know how you feel. Your MacBook Pro has integrated graphics 384 MB or 512 MB. If you are a gamer, creative professional or just want more VRAM get a 15 inch MacBook Pro with up to 1 gig of VRAM or a windows gaming laptop with up to 16 gigs of VRAM (a ridiculous amount!). If you get a windows pc, you can always install virtual box. There is no point in buying a 13 inch MacBook Pro unless you need a lightweight laptop with all of the extra "goodies". There is also no possible way to change the graphics unless you know how to "unhook" the card from the processor and install a new one. Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • Apple new macbook pro dosent have a disk drive. Does the older model have a problem with the disc drive and so is removed in the new model?

apple new macbook pro dosent have a disk drive. Does the older model have a problem with the disc drive and so is removed in the new model?

No. Apple replaced the disk drive with a solid state drive (SSD) instead. The SSD is faster the old disk drive.

  • Does the new MBP not come with any cd's?

Does the new MBP not come with any cd's (startup discs, etc).  It does have Lion installed

Yes.  New school does not need them. There is a Recovery partition build into the new Lion OS that takes the place of DVD's.
