Does the Pre support Bluetooth PAN connections?

Hello, I am new to the Pre and I am not too sure to its limitations, especially with Bluetooth. I can search for BT devices on my Vista laptop and find the Pre. However, once paired, it does not find any services. If I try and and pair the Pre with the Vista laptop, the Pre cannot see it.
My main aim to create a PAN connection so that I can get the internet whilst on the move. However, I am unable to do anything with my current BT pairing, not even see the file system or transfer any files across.
Any help or information on this will be grateful.
Kind Regards,
Harold Clements

In order for the Pre or another webOS device to transfer files, it would have to support a relevant network protocol (which mobile OSs tend not to support). So, that's not possible. What the Bluetooth PAN does support, however, is tethering (if allows by the carrier, of course), and use by applications like Chapura Pocketmirror that include their own protocols for file transfer.
You can find a list of car kits supported by the Pre/Pre Plus here: http://kb.palm.com/wps/portal/kb/common/article/50373_en.html.

At this itme the PRE does not support the SPP profile.
    These are the profiles currently enabled on the PRE;

  • Does Palm T X Supports Bluetooth PAN Network

    Hello Guys
I have HTC P3000 phone for my cell usage and i have activated internet connection on the same. But the phone supports Bluetooth pan for internet sharing via Bluetooth. Earlier i use to surf the net on my Palm TX via my old cell phone. But now i am unable to pair my PDA phone with my Palm TX. IS there a way out to connect Palm TX and HTC P 3000?
    Thanx

Without a specific driver for the HTC that would install on the TX, I'm afraid you're out of luck...
You can try some of the Generic ones (Standard GSM?) that are included on the TX.

  • Why is iOS 8.2 not updating on iPhone 5S?  It got me to Agree and nothing happens.  Am doing the update via a Wifi connection.

    Hello,
Why is iOS 8.2 not updating on iPhone 5S?  It got the user to Agree to the Terms and Conditions but nothing happens.  The user is doing the update via a Wifi connection.  Current OS version on the device is 8.1.3.  User did a hard reboot of the device and still the same result.  Not tried using iTunes as a workaround as we want to know why it's not updating via a Wifi connection.  Storage space available is 9G.
If you know of someone who is experiencing the same issue, please let me know the fix.  Thank you.

    1. I do not know if this will help you or not. In researching this issue with my wife's iPhone 5c 8GB, the most common answer you will get is to adjust this or that setting, and disable this or that App. These at best are only a band-aide solution at all. The best reply I got was from a Verizon Rep that stated "By design, iPhones do turn off WiFi when they go dormant. So if a download is in progress, or information is being back-up wirelessly and the phone goes dormant, it will switch to use cellular data if it is left on". Afterwards, I discovered the exact same information here on the Apple Support Forum to support this statement.
    2. Later onward, I read that if you keep your iPhone connected to a power source, it will prevent it from going dormant. In which case, this will prevent the iPhone from turning off the WiFi, and keep it connected to the WiFi. So far, this has help the most in controlling the amount of data usage being used, by my wife's iPhone.

  • Does the iphone support the use of a wildcard certificate?

Does the iphone support the use of a wildcard certificate?
Our exchange infrastructure utilises a wildcard (*.companyname certificate) from Godaddy.
    - Connects fine and authenticates
    - Can manually sync and pull emails
    - Can Send and Delete emails
However server is not establishing the activesync connection and ping so mail can be pushed to the device.
My guess is its a problem with the wildcard certificate that is used, WM5.0 devices didnt work with it, does anyone one know if the iPhone supports this?
    - I can get to OWA fine which uses the same wildcard cert.
    - WM6.0 devices push mail fine.
    Thanks.

    kfc01,
The iPhone Deployment Guide (linked from http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/enterprise) says it does for VPN.
    Hope this helps,

  • Does the iPhone support "Disk Use"

Does the iPhone support "Disk Use" like the iPod?

You can purchase a Mac Mini for $600. Connect your existing monitor, keyboard, and mouse to it and you have a Mac that includes a CD/DVD drive.
If not, once you factor in the same hardware doing a side by side comparison with a PC box assembler, a Mac is not as expensive or more expensive as you might think. Take out needing to purchase anti-virus, anti-spyware and anti-adware software and the associated annual renewal cost, along with access to software included on a Mac that probably requires an additional purchase with a PC such as iLife, and the cost difference is decreased.
That and the ability to run Windows natively on a Mac if needed or wanted, and you basically have two computers for the price of one. The cost comes down even more with this factored in.

  • Does the Airport support Airprint

    Does the Airport support Airprint?
I have severa IOS Devices and wuld like to use an existing Printer (HP USB) from these devices.
Would it be possible to access this Printer via Airprint if i Buy an Airport Extreme and connect the Printer to the USB Port?

Sorry, but just connecting a non-AirPrint printer to the USB port of an AirPort base station will not make it AirPrint capable. Yes there are a number of Apps available to print from iOS devices.

  • Does the wrt350n support jumbo frames?

Does the wrt350n support jumbo frames? Maybe in an upcoming firmware? thanks in advance

"Jumbo Frames" is a basic requirement of the Gigabit Ethernet specification. What you are saying is that the WRT350N does not actually function as a gigabit device. Sure enough it connects as one but does not transfer data at its native gigabit speed.
10Mbit connections can transfer up to around 1.2Mbytes per second.
100Mbit can transfer at around 12Mbytes per second
1000Mbit/Gigabit is supposed too transfer at up to 120Mbytes per second but cannot achieve this unless jumbo frames are active.
I beleive this gives me grounds to get a refund for a mis-sold product.
So, I guess the question needs to be re-asked.
Will the firmware ever be updated to support actual Gigabit speeds ?

  • Does the MX712 support wireless scanning using the MX Navigator EX v. 3.1.4 software?

Does the MX712 support wireless scanning using the MX Navigator EX v. 3.1.4 software?
When I attempt to scan wirelessly, it presents and error message asking if the scanner is turned off, or I need to have a USB connection to the laptop.
    Thanks - Joel

    Hi JoelAK,
Wireless scanning is supported, however, it appears you are using the wrong version of MP Navigator EX.  The version that is appropriate for your device is MP Navigator EX VER. 5.1.0.  This application can be downloaded from our website.
On this site, be sure you have the most up to date drivers as well.  Once setup, try the scan again using the correct version of MP Navigator.

  • Does the SGE2010 support 10gb Mini GBIC?

    Hello,
I have one 48 port SGE2010 and one 24 port SGE2000P at separate sites that are connected with single-mode fiber. I was wondering if the SGE's will support 10gb Mini GBIC transceivers or only 1gb Mini GBIC transceivers? I would like to connect the two switches at 10gb.
    Example transceiver:
    https://www.cdw.com/shop/products/Proline-Cisco-SFP-10G-LR-Compatible-10GBase-LR-SMF-SFP-mini-GBIC-module/2146046.aspx
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello,
I have never actually seen a 2Gb connector, but even if you found one the SGE switches are only able to do 1Gb on it's ports.  You may be able to configure a link aggregation between the two switches, but that really only gives you more bandwidth when there are lots of different hosts communicating over the link. I go over why this is in this post, starting with the second paragraph of my reply.
If you really would like a faster link the next step up is 10Gb.  The SG500 switches can support a 5Gb link between them (although this still uses either the 10Gb stacking cable, or a 10Gb mini-GBIC), and the SG500X supports 10Gb fiber connections.
We also have recently come out with the SG500XG, which can do 10Gb on ethernet ports when you use Cat6A cable.  I understand you may not be looking to upgrade just yet, so Link Aggregation is probably your best option with the switches you have now, but take a look at the post I linked first to see if it will really give you the improvement you are looking for.

  • Does the Ipad2 support .epub (ebook) files?

Does the Ipad2 support .epub (ebook) files?
And: does it support websites built with flash?

Epub boooks are supported. There are a number of different ebook apps, and generally books are locked (due to digital rights management systems) to the app/retailer that they were bought from e.g. iBooks (Apple), Kindle (Amazon), Barns & Noble, Nook - so won't be able, for example, buy a book from Amazon and read it it iBooks, you'll have to use the Kindle app.
Flash is not supported on any iOS device (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch). Some apps claim to (e.g. Skyfire) but judging from the reviews the results are varied. More info on why it's not supported here http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/

  • Does the iPad support flash player yet?

Does the iPad support flash player yet?

As has been said here many times now, Adobe has ceased development on all versions of their mobile Flash player, and since the chances are vanishingly small that Apple will ever develop their own, iOS devices will probably never natively support Flash content or apps. If Flash capability is criticial to your needs, you'll probably want to choose another device, though even Android and Windows phone and tablet devices are less and less capable of Flash support.
