Does the Resource Profile LOGICAL_READS_PER_CALL count TEMP

Does anyone know if the profile resource LOCIAL_READS_PER_CALL counts reads from the TEMP/SORT segment.
The reason I'm asking is because we had an adhoc report user write a query that caused a huge cartiesian product that consumed all of the temp tablespace, 8.5G. The knee-jerk reaction would be to add more space to the TEMP tablespace, but the poorly written query was the problem. The user running the query does have a profile that restricts the LOGICAL_READS_PER_CALL to 3500000. The query did fail since it could not allocate any space from the TEMP tablespace, but not before it caused two other sessions to fail for the same reason. The query had several sort/merge operations so I was hoping that when it was reading back from a temp segment it would be added to the counter and would then terminate the session.
If this counter is not used for TEMP reads does anyone know of another way to limit the amount of temp space for a particular user?

Logical read concerns the block read into the buffer no ? So I don't see relation with the tablespace TEMP.

Does the Lens Profile Creator work with Photoshop Elements 8.0..?

I am very new to the world of Photoshop, so please forgive if this is an obvious/stupid question...
I am using Photoshop Elements 8.0 and I have a couple of pictures that I need to remove the 'fish eye' lens distortion from around the edges...
The blurb for the Lens Profile Creator says that it is for use in the "Adobe Photoshop® family of products"...
Does this include Photoshop Elements 8.0 or do they really mean it is just for Photoshop CS5, Camera Raw and Photoshop Lightroom...
Any help will be appreciated...

PSE does not have the user-interface to turn on lens-corrections, nor does the ACR 6.1 update for PSE contain the lens-profile database installer, so if PSE is the only member of the PS-family that you have installed then effectively you cannot apply lens profiles.
If a computer has the lens-profile database installed and lens-distortion-correction has been enabled in the XMP sidecar for a particular image, both requiring PS-CS5's ACR 6.1-updater or LR3 to be installed and one of those used to enable lens-corrections for the image, then PSE can use ACR 6.1 to apply a lens profile, because the version of the ACR 6.1 plug-in for PS and PSE is the same plug-in.
BTW, removing fish-eye distortion completely, which is what enabling lens-corrections does by default, will leave a rather poor looking image that has been completely rectilinearized but has severe stretching of the pixels at the edges, so only the center is useable. With my 8mm Sigma fisheye, I reduce the Distortion part of the correction down to 44 so the black corners are gone, but there is still some bulging of the image.
If you want to experiment with lens-corrections, you could install the 30-day trial of LR3.

Does the SIP Profile work for Symbian Belle?

This is an interesting device, however besides having to have a seperate application for Wifi Hotspot, I am wondering if the so-called "application" for SIP VoIP calls, as per older handsets will in fact work or would it need upgrading.

I had the same problem while testing Nokia 603 and it took a week to get the solution, so I'm happy to share my experience now...
SIP profile works fine, but you still need to download a widget from Ovi Store in order to configure Internet telephony profile and activate VoIP calls. Unfortunately it seems that no VoIP provider has released own widgets, so you can't use Internet calls even if you setup SIP profile and registration to SIP server is ok. But there is a solution...
You can download a little app from Nokia develeoper site, which enables hidden configuration and let you access to manual configuration of Internet telephony profile... same as it used to happen with older Nokia devices.
After installing the app you can create a default Internet telephony profile associated to the SIP profile created before. After doing this, when you enter the contact list or oper the dialer, you can find a new menu option to call via Internet. Not easy, but it works!

I know the IP Profile can drop but how long does it take to improve the speed if my line could/ can handle it

How does the Default profile works?

we are using MSCS cluster.
On last week, I found SAPGLOBALHOST and SAPDBHOST are pointed to wrong server in default.pfl in
<CLUSTER>\SAPMNT\PRD\SYS\profile. I changed both parameter to currently server name and restart service. Therefore, we lost zcsa/installed_languages parameter in PRD_DVEBMGS01_<CI_SERVER> file. I have to add this parameter again in RZ10.
My question is:
Why SAP can start up correctly when the SAPGLOBALHOST and SAPDBHOST were wrong ? I don't think anybody changed this parameter without notice.
Where is the old zcsa/installed_languages parameter stored? I searched all servers, I couldn't find this parameter.

Check SAPGLOBALHOST and SAPDBHOST parameters in Instance profile. If the values in the instance profile is correct it will override the default profile values. Also check the environmental variables like DB_HOST etc.
When you change the value of zcsa/installed_languages didn't save it as a new version?If you save as a new version then go to profile directory and check DEFAULT.PFL.<n>

Printing the Resource Profile in the Tracking View

As above.
Struggling to print the profile section of the Tracking View - there's a checkbox to print the profile, but it's greyed out.
Any suggestions - or a "it's not possible" - appreciated

Hi,
after selecting a resource in Resource Center, use "Resource Assignments" in the ribbon. In Resource Assignments view, use "Timephase Data" (second button from left).
This will give you information about Actual Work.

Where does the resources bundle files need to be

Hi All,
Does any of you knows where all the custom resources bundle files that will be used on BCC need to be?
I have something like this:
BCC module /src/com/mycompany/resources/WebAppResources.properties
But when I try to use it

I think this is to follow which "kind" of substitution is used. The meaning depends on each customer...
Values from the drop-down box come from customizing.

Does the 25,000 song count against the 5GB limit?

I was wondering. You can upload up to 25,000 songs. That's great and all, but does it take up your 5GB limit on iCloud, thereby forcing you to purchase more storage space?

Nope, the 25k song limit and the 5G limit for other iCloud things are entirely separate. Music doesn't touch the 5G.

Restrict the reources on OIM resource profile

Is it possible to restrict the resources that show up on the resource profile.
I have a requirement where AD administrators should o nly manage their resource.

Go to Resource Object and Remove the Allow All check box , it wont show up in resource file for any user

How to enable only one resource profile outof 3 while disabling user in OIM

Hello,
I have 3 resource profile for AD user with 3 diffrent IT resources.
When i try to disable the user in OIM, then it disables all the resource profiles attached for that user.
I would like NOT to disable one of AD User Resource profile out of 3 .
How can I do that?

This is the same post as one made about a week ago.
I would suggest the following:
1. Create an adapter that has an input of the domain, or some other identifying attribute. In this adapter, use logic to return a response of either DISABLE or DO_NOTHING.
2. Create a new Process Task called something like "Disable Resource Determiner". Attach your adapter you just made, and on your response codes, for DISABLE, trigger the disable task, and on DO_NOTHING, then do nothing... Set this adapter to be triggered on disable.
3. On your previous disable task, remove the disable trigger.
Now when your disable is triggered, you have logic to determine which target resource is being used, and then whether or not to disable the resource or do nothing.

OIM manipulating provisioning - description on resource profile

I have an OIM installation with AD and Exchange connectors. When users are provisioned, going back to the resource profile, you can see the resource and several data, for example the Description field. For AD User, descriptions shows the windows logon name (what I think it is correct), and for Exchange, it shows a number (probably a key of some table). Trying to discover from where this description field is taken, I realized that it comes from the ORC table, ORC_TOS_INSTANCE_KEY (if I change it, it changes in the description of the resource profile too).
I have many questions about this. First of all, who puts this value in this field of the ORC table. I followed the provisioning tasks for AD and Exghange (Create User and Create Mailbox), and got inside the code (I decompiled it with cavaj), but the logic of the adapters attached to that process task and the code in the java classes, only creates efectively the user or the mailbox, and returns.. so, when the resource profile is being modified?
Other question related to that, is where are the conventions of the process tasks names for provisioning? For example, FIELD Updated reacts over the event of modification of FIELD. Create User sounds logic for provisioning when a resource is granted on an application, but Create Mailbox? How is this task attached with the provisioning submit of a resource?

You are right, the number that you see in the description field in the resource profile is the ORC KEY. If you need to change this to show any value in the process form, you can do so by going to the provisioning workflow form in the design console and click of Map Descriptive field.
I dont think it has been documented anywhere about the field name<space updated> task.
The name Create User or Create Mailbox has no significance. you can really keep any name for the task. The way OIM understands that it needs to execute this task is if it sees the task is marked as "Required for Completion". all tasks marked required for completion will be executed by oim before it can say that provisioning has been completed. For e.g i a provisioning process all you might need to do is send a mail and not create any account etc.
then you have a task "Send mail" (or any name) mark the task as required for completion. Now when this resource is granted by the admin to the user, this task would have executed. The name is not of essence when it comes to provisioning.

Particularly the section on "Creating Consumer Group Mappings", we can use the SET_CONSUMER_GROUP_MAPPING procedure to set the consumer group based on a session attribute, where the session attribute is one of -

If you take a look in v$session for an active APEX session, you will see that the MODULE contains the application details, the action contains the page details whilst the CLIENT_INFO contains either APEX_PUBLIC_USER, nobody or the login name (if the user has authenticated).
Unfortunately the SET_CONSUMER_GROUP_MAPPING doesn't seem to let you use the CLIENT_INFO (i.e. the username), although you could potentially get round this by manually setting the module or action yourself (say to something like "app_id:page_id:username").

"%userprofile%\appdata\local" is counted in the users profile

In our environment we see some strange behavior on laptops. Users report that their user profile is becoming too large. We use the user Profile Management tool from Microsoft.(Limit profiles size - proquota.exe @ 100mb)
So “%userprofile%\appdata\local” is counted in the users profile.
After that userprofiles are inconsistant. Users log's on with a TEMP profile or cannot logon anymore.
This seems just a symptom of a underlying problem. We can solve it by giving the user a new userprofile. But we have seen this problem too frequently now.
How is it possible that de default variables %LOCALAPPDATA% en %APPDATA% suddenly are missing. The day before the user has no problem. It mostly happens on laptops after a VPN or WIFI connection. It looks like if the connection is lost before the local user
profile is synchronised to the server profile.
We also see Event 1530 frequently. Can this be a clue?

Is the missing of these variables the cause or effect of a corrupt user profile?
Should we think of leaving roaming profiles for laptops? And look to UE-V or another solution?
Giving the user a new user profile is a workarround but not a solution.
We are using:
We use Windows 7 x86, latest patches, Office 2010.
A Windows 2003 domain functional level
We have an OU in AD wich contains the users and computer in subfolders.
We use Loopback processing for Group policy so the user policy is linked to the client OU and not to the user OU.
We user folder redirection to the homeshare (DFS namespace)
User profiles are on a DFSnamespace but single server.
We user Offline files for the Homeschare.

3. Please help collect profile trace on a problematic client by below steps:
Logon to a client with local administrator account.
Open a command prompt with ELEVATED.
Run "logman -start profile -p {eb7428f5-ab1f-4322-a4cc-1f1a9b2c5e98} 255 3 -ets" (without the quotes, if we face error, please do not use copy, manually input this
command)
Switch user (do not log off the administrator account) and try to logon with the problematic user to reproduce the symptom.
After you login, please logoff the domain user and back to local administrator account.
Run command
"logman -stop profile -ets" with administrator privilege.
Then send me the profile.etl under
%SystemRoot%\Debug\UserMode folder

Why does the iPad Mini not have music play count?

I bought an iPad Mini and also have a macbook. I had listened to various music on my iPad Mini the other day, however when I connected the iPad Mini to the Macbook and iTunes via the lightning connector to sync, it synced the ratings I gave the songs I listened to on the mini, but no play count, as if I had not listened to anything. I hope there is something I can do about this as I often look at my play count!!

It should work work but these kind of bugs pop up between updates, both hardware and software. Try closing all apps in the recently used list on the iPad. Double tap the Home button, tap and hold one of the icons at the bottom till they wiggle then tap the to close them. Tap the Home button to get back to the Home screen then hold the sleep button till you see the slide to power off message. Once it has powered down completely hold the Sleep button till the Apple icon appears.

Many people including myself rely on playcounts to control smart playlist to manage large libraries. Smart playlists can be created to show your most or least played tracks and used more or less as your favorites or other uses. Along with playcounts the date is transferred so to keep a fresh list of music on my smaller iPods a smart playlist set to songs not played in the last month keeps some fresh tunes on it.
Playcounts are also used to manage Podcasts in iTunes to delete older episode. Bookmarks, which can also be effected by this, can mess up audiobooks, movies and podcast playback between different devices. So yes, it does matter.
