Does the warranty cover the power adapter?

Lately my power adapter's light has been cutting in and out. Tonight I noticed it's frayed where the cable meets the input of the adapter. I'm wondering if the adapter is covered under Apple's warranty. I have Apple Care.
Furthermore, the battery also doesn't seem to be holding much of a charge these days. The computer is about two years old and the battery only has about 55 minutes of life fully charged. Is the battery covered under the warranty?

Hi,
Neither is covered. The frayed cable would be considered damage which is not covered. And the battery is a consumable item and is only covered for the first year. The average life of a lithium ion battery is about 2 years so it's time for a new one.

.. Does the warranty cover the screen? Mine cracked.. My iPod's 4th generation.

No. But sometimes if you make an appointment at the Genius bar of an Apple store they will replace your iPod at no cost.. Otherwise the exchange price is $99, $149, or $199 depending upon the capacity.

  • So i recently lost my phone and i was wondering. does the warranty cover the loss of an apple product?

I recently lost my Iphone 4 and ive had it for only a few months now. does anyone know if the warranty will cover the phone and if i would be able to get a new one for free?

Your standard warranty does not cover loss or theft. For that you should have purchased insurance from your insurance agent. If you purchased the extended warranty, then look below to find your coverage limits:

  • Does my warranty cover the mac book pro charger?

I got a new Mac Book pro for Christmas and the charger already stopped working. Luckily I had an old one. Anyone know if my warrantly will cover the dead charger? Not trying to spend like 75 bucks on a new one.

The Mac, so they can corroborate the serial no. and confirm coverage. Can check here:  https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do
After this experience, consider the benefits of extending the warranty for two more years, post-Xmas, with AppleCare.

  • Does my warranty cover the repair of dead pixels?

    Hi everyone!
First time posting on these discussion boards and have a question regarding my MBP. I purchased this retina display 15 inch macbook pro last year in October and pretty much fell in love with it. This is my first time buying a mac product having previously been a windows user. I started noticing that a few of the pixels have died, showing no colour, standing out in white. It began with just one but now I have 5 small clusters showing quite noticeably. I do know that it came with a warranty and it's not even been a year yet, can I return this for repair? Any help would be appreciated!
    Krishna

One:  Buy AppleCare for your system before the one year mark.  That extends the 1 year warranty to 3 and extends phone support to 3 years as well.  But the "one year from purchase" deadline is rarely waived.
Two: Go to the Genius Bar and ask them.  We are just users like you, and anything we say does not guarantee what Genius Bar will do.  I have heard from other posters that apple has a minimum number dead pixels that are just considered "acceptable", but then my memory is even older than I am.
    Good luck.

  • Does the warranty cover the black screen of death

It ouch randomly goes dark.. How do I fix

    Try:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
If not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
If the iPod is defective, within warranty and not abused Apple will exchange it for a refurbished one at no cost.

  • TS1713 Does my 1-year warranty cover the replacement of a damaged Magsafe adaptor?

The cord on my 85W Magsafe adaptor has been damaged. Does my 1-year warranty cover the replacement of the adaptor?

The cord directly connected to the adaptor was starting to rip off, and so my mother used electrical tape to fix it. The tape ended up melting, somehow causing the cord to rip off, but not completely. The charger works to an extent - it's very on and off. However, I still would like to replace it for a new one. Will I still be able to replace it? With warranty covering it?

  • I'm traveling to London for the summer, does anyone know a good power adapter/converter for my MacBook Pro?

I'm traveling to London for the summer, does anyone know a good power adapter/converter for my MacBook Pro? I know there's the Travel Adapter Kit but it's only for iPhones, iPods, iPad, etc.

    Apple World Travel Adapter Kit
The World Travel Adapter Kit includes the Apple USB Power Adapter, USB Cable and six interchangeable AC adapter plugs for use with iPod, iPhone, and iPad. The adapter plugs can also be used with Apple MagSafe Power Adapters, Portable Power Adapters, and AirPort Express, so you can plug your power adapter into most electrical outlets around the world.

  • HT1349 Is the Apple Magsafe 2 Power Adapter covered under Apples one year warranty?  I cant figure out how to check the date.  The serial number is to long to enter.

I need help finding out warranty information on the Apple Magsafe 2 Power Adapter.  When I enter the serial number, it is too long for the box.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

I got this from my father.  It looks like it is an aftermarket package and not something that came with the original Mac. I will try to attach a picture of the item box and the barcode label.  The actual part number is MD506LL/A .

  • Hello, my MacBook just fell on the floor and there is a massive smash on the rear aluminum part. Is it fixable? Does the warranty cover this type of damage? If not, how much would it cost me to get it fixed?

Hello, my MacBook just fell on the floor and there is a massive smash on the rear aluminum part. Is it fixable? Does the warranty cover this type of damage? If not, how much would it cost me to get it fixed?
PS: I bought it on the USA, but currently living in Brazil . I guess though there is a apple store in the shopping mall.

Accidental damage is not covered by warranty. As to cost to fix, we can not say as we do not know what internal/external components were damaged. Take the computer to an authorized repair center for assessment and estimate to repair.

  • What does the warranty cover exactly?

Well my itouch just randomly goes dark.... So dark I cant see it. One minute its on then bam it shuts off. Also, the headphones are not as loud. Does my warranty cover this? If so, do I have to travel to an apple retail store or can I lpmail my itouch to them? I have an ipod touch 4g 8 gb.

    You can check the warranty:
    Hardware Warranties
Basically, it covers defects in manufacture. It does not cover accidental damage like caused by dropping it.
You can make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store are send it to them, For details see:

  • Does the warranty cover cracked screens?

Does the warranty cover cracked screens? I dropped it by accident?

SantannaF, just what are you saying?
    - The warranty that covmes with the iPod does not cover a broken screen.
    - When this post was written, there wan an extented warranty, AppleCare that yo could purchase the increased the waranry period from one year to two years. It still did not cover accidental damage like a broken screen.
    - Now, Apple offers for a price, AppleCare+. That covers replacment for a broken screen for a fee of $29
extends your coverage to two years from the original purchase date of your iPod and adds up to two incidents of accidental damage coverage, each subject to a $29 service fee plus applicable tax.1

  • HT1349 Does the warranty cover external damage?

I've had my Iphone for less than a week and I have just dropped it and the screen has smashed.
    Does the warranty cover it?

If you purchased AppleCare+ coverage when you purchased your iPhone, your accidental damage would be covered for the cost of the "deductable" ($49 in the US). If you did not purchase AppleCare+, then as Kappy said you will have to pay for replacement.
    Regards.

  • Does the warranty cover loss/stolen ipod touch?

we think my son's ipod that he just got for Christmas was stolen/lost yesterday, does the warranty cover this?  Is there a way to track it or see if someone's using it?  He is devastated.

    Not covered by warranty.
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have to iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.
