Does the Zen support the feature: Artist - Alb

Greetings,?My Zen arri'ves Monday , and I was just checking to see if it has the same menu feature that my Dell DJ has which is if I select the Artist I can then view the albums by that artist and select the entire album or tracks to play? Since my Dell's firmware is by creative I assume it will, but I just need to verify this. This feature was a late addition to the Dell but?a much needed one, so I would expect it to be in the Zen's firmware. Thanks,DaveR

Umm..of course which mp3 player doesn't have this?
You click artist, and the albums show up in two different menus(text or album art) then you can just move over it and just click pause/play button and it will play whole album. Or you can select it and push enter and play a song.
You can also just select any artist and press the pause/play button and it will play all the songs from that artist.

    Basically I brought a album of the iTunes Store, Depzman - 2 Real, specifically, edited the album features, such as, artists and put the featuring artists, which before I edited it was placed in brackets at the end of the song title like most iTunes songs, but when i put it on my iPhone which is on manually handle music and videos, the artist which i removed from the song title do not appear, only the album artists, I have reset my iPhone completely using the delete all settings and content in the hope of it being the iPhones fault and it has not changed, urgh, what a waste of time / effort, now I have now gotten to the point of fed up cos I feel like I've tried everything, ive re-downloded them and done it all again, still nothing, so now I'm puzzled and don't understand why it wont appear the same on my iPhone as it does in my iTunes library, please can someone help me solve this pain in the ***, I'm OCD when it comes to music and if it doesn't appear the way it should i get annoyed / frustrated -.-

    Is it possible to enable HA feature in csr1000v?

    HA provided across a network segment within AWS is not a simple solution due to the restrictions that they place on the L2 segments.  As an example, here is Amazon's suggestion for NAT HA:

    With that said, we're working on documenting a solution that will work around some of the restrictions through overlaid connections.  At a high level, one way that you can do this is with a couple of CSR1000Vs connected via a GRE tunnel over their Amazon segment.  You then would have to setup BFD and configure an EEM script to watch for a peer down event.  This script would then have to modify the AWS VPC Routing table (the VPC gateway) so that the hosts use the appropriate CSR as an exit point.  The unfortunate piece is that from the CSR1000V we cannot call the AWS API directly so this requires use of a second EEM script to SSH to a helper VM and execute the AWS VPC commands.  Hopefully within the next couple of weeks we will have a configuration guide to step through the individual components, as there are many moving parts.  At a high level this solution was presented in the Cisco Live session BRKARC-2023 around slides 35-40 (Session PDF) are some of the network diagrams and an example of the EEM script.  
    With that said, another solution that you might consider is Cisco InterCloud:

    This allows for a secure Layer 2 extension from your data center into the public cloud which could remove some complexity in dealing with the AWS infrastructure.  This solution is not one that would be for the one off, single CSR type deployment, however if you are looking at scale it could be a good alternative.  
    As for TAC support with the Advanced License, this is the hourly paid model that we have within Amazon.  Support for this type of licensing is currently only offered through the support forum, however we are looking at other options that could allow direct TAC engagement on a case by case basis rather than a term license.  Depending on where you are at with regards to your deployment it may be appropriate to engage your Cisco Account Team to help determine which solution is best for you.  I can help track them down if you want to send me a private message.

  • How can I get my ipod to list the "album artist" instead of "artist" in the music menu, but still show the artist with the featured artist when a song plays?

    For example, I am putting Kanye West's album "808's & Heartbreak" on my ipod. The track "Amazing" features Young Jeezy. So in iTunes, I list the track name as "Amazing", the artist as "Kanye West ft. Young Jeezy",  the album artist as "Kanye West", and the album as "808's & Heartbreak". What I want is for my iPod to have a list of album artists instead of artists, so that I can find the song "Amazing" under "Kanye West" instead of "Kanye West ft. Young Jeezy" or "808's & Heartbreak".
    And when the song plays, it should say:
    Amazing
    Kanye West ft. Young Jeezy
    808's & Heartbreak
    Is there a way I can do that? I tried using the "album artist" field thinking it would do what I wanted to do, but it didnt. I also tried using the "sort artist" field and typed "Kanye West" in there, but that didnt work either. I wish iTunes was simpler and easier or atleast CAME WITH A MANUAL. Any help would be greatly appreciated THanks

    Have you tried a different pair of earbuds/headphones to rule out a pair of damaged/faulty ones?  You might also want to make sure the headphones are securely and firmly seated in Nano's headphone jack.  Lastly, check the headphone jack for any signs of debris or damage.  You may need to have the headphone jack replaced either by Apple or a third party repair company.
    I assume this static is present on any track you listen to versus only particular ones?

    I'm trying to figure out if the feature's guide comes with a new ipod nano? My sister bought one awhile ago and all that is in the clear box is a Quick Start Guide. I know I can find the feature's guide online but trying to figure out if she ever had a hard copy of the feature's guide booklet as I can't find her copy. Maybe I'm looking for something that is in my imagination.

    Thanks, my sister got an ipod touch the other day with a new Macbook and she told me to get her manual for something I was trying to figure out. So I thought I was using it the other day and can't find it. Now she thinks the touch one is at her office. Then I decided to get all the new stuff together in a bag: her Macbook info, her nano stuff and her ipod touch stuff (she tends to leave stuff all over the place and since I use them sometimes I thought I would organize it all). After collecting it all I wondered if there was something for the nano which I didn't see in the box.
    Anywho now I know the answer for the ipod nano anyway.

  • Why does cellular not support phone features?

    iPad Mini with Retina display has a celluar capability. Why does it not support full phones features, doubling as an iPad and phone like the iPhone 5S does?

    And I don't mean to seem rude. I have worked in product development many years with a very large company. I have also challenged engineers and developers to look beyond the basics to deliver something that sets the trend adn differentiates itself from the pack.
    Apple as that trend-setter created awesome products in the form of the iPad Air and the iPad Mini w/ RD. It is extraordinary in the leading technologies they incuded in the  package. It would have been BRILLIANT though, to have converged both as an IPad and a phone. It would have propelled the iPad light years ahead of the competition.

    To be clear move to SD card only moves the Firefox application files.
    It is not possible for a normal user to access the Firefox for Android profile. If you have a rooted phone you can find the profile in
    /data/data/org.mozilla.firefox/files/mozilla/

  • Does iPhoto 6 support full-featured slideshow copying between Macs finally?

    Hi,
    I created long slideshows with the slideshow feature of iPhoto 5.
    It seems that full-featured sharing and copying of that slideshow to another equal equipped Mac is not possible with iPhoto 5. Only the copying of that slideshow as a bare album seems possible with the standard Sharing feature, and with Drag & Drop — while losing all those time consuming optimized transition and timing settings.
    Well, for the "best digital lifestyle applications on the planet" (similar called by Steve), I expect that Apple did work on that issue with iPhoto 6. Have they? Does iPhoto 6 integrate a logic step further now, which allows copying of permanent slideshows and photo books between two Macs?
    Please let me know of advances or tricks on that hardly missed feature.
    I am very curious. Please excuse my English, hope you got the idea.

    Unfortunately, nothing has changed in that area.
    The only way to do it easily is to create a new library for each slideshow and book specifically. Import the images you are going to use for your book or slideshow and do your book or slideshow in the newly created library.
    This library can then be burned to disc and copied to another computer running the same version of iPhoto. Use the Option key when launching iPhoto to open the newly copied library from the disc.

    The SDk doesn't deal with BlueTooth or USB. Your only option is wireless data. (WiFi, 3G, etc)

  • Featured artists - On the Artists ipod menu

    I got an ipod for Christmas and having some troubles!
    I imported Justin Timberlakes new album, when I tried to find it on under 'artist' it lists all the featured artists aswell..timberlake feat snoop Dogg etc.
    Is there any way I can change this so it's just under one name??

  • Does the 6th gen nano have a mecanical or piezoelectric accelerometer?

    I know that there are basically two types of pedomenters: mecanical/spring action and piezoelectric. They maybe 2 or three axis acceleromenters but when it comes to sensors, its one or the other. One has to be vertical to trigger properlly and the other can be thrown in a pocket because it doesn't have to be in a certain position to work. Now this one says that it has a 3 axis acceleromenter but is that mechanical or piezoelectric? I don't hear a click so that makes me think that it must be piezoelectric but you know what they say about assuming things. I can't find this spelled out anywhere except that in the version that required a shoe sensor had a piezoelectric sensor in the shoe. However they say we don't need the shoe sensor anymore, soooooo....does that mean we have it in the 6th gen nano itself? I'd love to know.

    The reason I don't just delete the 'feat' bit is three fold:
    First, like Erik Dyson, I want things to work properly. Second, I like to know who is being "featured" so, if that track strikes me because of the contribution of the featured artist, I can find more information about the featured artist. Finally, I just like to have as much information accessible to me as possible.
    Now, the question is, does my Mini Cooper (BMW) iPod control software will use the iPod OS to identify the artist for the "Artist" category or if the Mini Cooper software will ignore the "Sort Artist" ...

    Hi, In the Indian Classical instrumental music there are two artists with duplicate pages due to slight variation in name or spelling. These are Hariprasad Chaurasia, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia Pandit is a title.     The usual reason why an artist appears several times is because of spelling differences, capitalistion, or guest artists.
    For example, "Dire Straits" and "Dire straits" may appear together in your iTunes Library, but become separate entries on the iPod. "The Clash" is different to "Clash, The".
    If one track on an album is listed differently to the rest, say as "The Clash featuring a guest artist", then this too would be listed separately to "The Clash".  The usual fix for this is to add the featured artist to the track name and remove it from the artist's name.
    The hardest one to spot is stray spaces after a band name . You can see the one I deliberately put in at the end of that last sentence, but it's not so easy in the Artist field, where full stops (period) are not used.
    An easy tip is to copy the artist name from one track, and paste it into all the others by that artist. Then Sync the iPod with your Library for these changes to take effect on the iPod.

  • Featured Artists Organization & Proposed Solution

    Hello, I am new to the Apple forums, so please forgive me if this is the wrong place for suggesting a new feature or just generally making it clear what I'd like to see in the next update.
    One of the most prevalent problems that I encounter while using iTunes is that many songs I enjoy have featured artists accompanying them. These featured artists usually are listed next to the song title. For example: Ready For Your Love (feat. MNEK) - Gorgon City. I find this visually distracting and that it detracts from my iTunes experience. The current solution I have come up with is putting that "featuring tag" next to the artists name. I'm sure many of you can already realize the problem with this plan, though. When I am sorting by artist whether it be on my iPhone or in iTunes, iTunes understandably but incorrectly divides each song with a different featured artist but the same main artist into separate different artists due to the "featuring tag". This can lead to an album having up to 16 different individual artists. This is a nightmare when I'm in the mood for a single artist, but all of their songs are divided into separate tracks.
    My proposed solution is for Apple to create a separate line of info in the details section of a song, which would allow for the main artist to have their name in the artist track and the featured artist in the featured artist clause. For Example:
    Song Name: Ready For Your Love
    Artist: Gorgon City
    Featured Artist: MNEK
    Those who prefer the standard way things are run now will not have to change a thing, but those who sincerely care about organization will have a solution to this problem.  I sincerely hoped this issue I am having with organization will be addressed soon in some manner, whether that be in the form of my idea, or some other system. Thank you for reading.

    First, you're not talking to Apple - this is a users' forum.  You can submit enhancement ideas to Apple via their iTunes feedback page.
    Second, iTunes already supports what you're suggesting, albeit in a different way and without the use of a distinct Featured Artist tag.  For those cases where:
    an album is credited to a single artist
    one or tracks has additional "guest performers"
    you can set the Album Artist to the first value (this is necessary to ensure that the tracks are properly grouped in all albums views) and the Artist to an appropriate value, as in this example:
    where the Artist values are those you see beneath each track name, and the Album Artist is "Van Morrison".  This approach also resolves most of the issues around sorting/searching that you mention.
    It may not be as simple as your suggestion, but it does work.  The other issue is that Apple can't just make changes to the tags that iTunes uses:
    they have to be consistent with the standards set for media tagging, since these are used by many other applications that can work with the same files
    both purchased digital media (iTunes Store, Amazon, etc.) and the Gracenote database used to look up details for CD import would have to be significantly modified to support any new tag
    A lot of the information that's associated with media based on the second of these points doesn't follow a regular pattern - as well as the approach illustrated above you'll see many cases where the "featured artist" is included in the song name and not the artist value - as in the example you quoted.  From a purely data perspective your suggestion is a good one - I'd actually extend to allow multiple "featured artists", so that in the case of track 10 of the album shown above, you'd have:
    Artist = Van Morrison
    Featured Artist = Georgie Fame
    Featured Artist = Annie Ross
    and of course you'd also need the corresponding sort values:
    Sort Artist = Morrison, Van
    Featured Artist = Fame, Georgie
    Featured Artist = Ross, Annie
    but unfortunately that starts to head in the direction of completely restructuring the iTunes data structures as a normalized database.
    Bottom line - nice idea, but it ain't going to happen ... too much work to do, not just for Apple but also for the media providers, and I'm sure that they'll say that 99.9% of their customers are happy with what they have today (and they'd probably be right).

    Does the Zen Micro support chinese interface?.. Also, does it display songs' lyrics on playback? For example, coming with a tag for every songs.. Lastly, may I noe whether a microphone is needed for voice recording.. or can we juz speak directly into the player without using any other external hardware n everything tt has been said will be recorded?..     You must know, Miss Catherina, we who buy your music players are not strictly music listeners. We love music and we love to sing along with our music. You seem to have small regard on this. In fact, it's one of the major features I am looking for in an Mp3 player. My answer might be displeasing if you would ask me why then did I buy a Creative Mp3 player if I knew it didn't have that feature. But I actually trust Creative much when it comes to sound quality and digital products. And if your Zen Micro just didn't really look that nice and cute. ;-) Anyway, I'm saying this LYRICS feature is really great--would be really great. And I'm not actually just saying a lyrics-display feature, I'm saying a TXT-VIEWING functionality, so you can read long .txt files on it from your Notepad. Your player would be as good as PalmPad, I think. Wouldn't you like that advantage? mpio's HD300 (and HD200 firmware upgradable) has that feature...

    Does Acrobat XI Pro support the feature of syncing settings in Creative Cloud? I downloaded this software from my Creative Cloud account but I do not find the sync settings option in it. Is this feature not available?

    No it doesn't.
    Acrobat isn't part of the Creative Cloud product range, it is included in the CC subscription packages but it doesn't include features of the "... CC" products such as Sync or Typekit.
