Does theJ2EE migration kit support migrating from Oracle9 iAS?

Hi,
We currently have an application based on Oracle9 iAS.
1) Does the J2EE migration kit support migrating from Oracle J2EE to SAP J2EE?
2) If the answer is NO and since the documentation doesn't mention Oracle, I am wondering if SAP is planning on including support for migrating from Oracle too?
Regards,
Tobi

Hello Anirban,
what kind of projects are you trying to migrate to NWDS?
The Migration Kit (Plug-In) in its surrent version supports migration of projects from IBM, JBoss, BEA to SAP - on the same Java EE technology stack level! If you want to migrate SAP 6.40 (J2EE 1.3) projects to SAP CE (Java EE 5), there is a support in the SAP NWDS to do that. You can start importing your "old" projects by saying "migrate projects" in the import statement of the IDE.
Try it out!
In case you should encouner difficulties, shoot me a mail!
Cheers, Goran

Thanks in Advance. You can use manual or using exp/imp can upgrade your database.
1.Take cold backup from 9i database.
2.Install 10g software and create need directories and restore cold backup
    3.Startup database with upgrade option
    sqlplus "/as sysdba"
    startup upgrade pfile='pfile_location'
    @$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/catupgrd.sql;
    shutdown immediate;

We are working in a project where they need to calculate commission "on the fly" according to the princing discount they gave to the customer on a quote (Oracle Quoting). As once confirmed the quote turn into a sales order in OM we would like to know if it (project commission) migrate to the sales order.?

Calamulus wrote:I completely agree; my confusion arises from the fact that the wiki has forever stated that the ondemand governor works like the conservative one by adjusting the frequency between all speeds available
It does. But like litemotiv says, it only does so for brief moments. Because most of the time it's more beneficial to switch to highest freq, so the job is done as fast as possible, allowing to cpu to go to idle as soon as possible.
Calamulus wrote:This can mislead users into thinking (like I did for about 3 years, if it turns out the wiki is mistaken) that by selecting ondemand they get the functionality that is actually offered by conservative instead.
It is the same functionality. It's just that ondemand is better at it. Conservative was only created for some buggy amd processors which had trouble with fast switching, so it shouldn't be used. Unless you have one of those old amd processors of course.

  • HT4796 does the migrate from pc to mac work? I have been running it for 20 hours and it looks to hung up on still copying my music and i dont have that much.

Need help on the migration back up?

    Karsten,
Most interesting reply and I certainly appreciate the sample illustration -- it's most helpful. However, I have this effect enabled and what happens is quite odd. Let me explain a little better as maybe I didn't word it correctly. Here's what occurs...
1- Before the slide transitions to the next slide, it becomes fuzzy (not part of the transition itself which comes after)
2- After the fuzziness the slide sort of notches upward a hairline before the transition. Thus, here it is: Normal Slide > Fuzziness > Notch > Transition > Normal Slide -- repeats.
Side Note: I noticed on my daughter's DVD player, the side would do the above, but would know go a step further. the imposed soundtrack would actually pause for a split second (in addition to the above) before the transition itself.
I called mac and was offered some studio 4 pro, and when I looked at the price I almost fainted ($999.99) which is quite steep for me and certainly more software than I need. That said, I'm looking into iMovie as an alternative (iDVD would have been great and fast on the work-flow), but I need to come up with a system using my Mac as I may have a wedding coming within the next several months. Before I offer this service, I need to learn the Mac (which I love) and the software of choice. I went to a local book store and purchased this book:

    hopefully it will help me.
    Sincerely,

Thank you for sharing the solution.
If your question was resolved/answered, you should mark the thread as "answered".
Then you should make e new thread/question for the new error you get. This will make it alot easier for other users, modetrators and Microsoft to help you. It will also make it much eaiser for othe people with the same issue to search the forums.
    Thank you.

  • Complications migrating from Snow Leopard Server to Mountain Lion Server.

I'm migrating from Snow Leopard Server to Mountain Lion Server. The article "OS X Server: Upgrade and migration" (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5381) says
"Make sure that any DNS or DHCP servers on which your server depends remain running during the upgrade"
This advice is reinforced by the details of the article "OS X Server: Steps to take before upgrading or migrating the Open Directory database" (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5300).
As the server I'm migrating from provides these services it will need to be running during the migration process. This would seem to limit my options to doing the migration from a Time Machine backup (or, making a seperate clone of the server's drive and connecting it externally to the new box)
My main concern is the seemingly inevitable clash that is going to occur on the network as the new server takes on the roles of the old one - while it is still running.
What are my options here ?
This is my second attempt as on my first try I did the migration from the TM backup with the network down - and none of my local network users or their home directories were migrated, although the settings for the mount points were, but there were no actual directories where they pointed to!
Clear directions on how to procede would be VERY MUCH appreciated
    Thank you.

Moving from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion means first installing the client (non-Server) version of Mountain Lion and then install Server.app this means that for at least part of the process you will not be running DNS, DHCP or Open Directory.
If you are going to end up using the same DNS name and IP address after the change then an approach you could follow would be as follows.
    Destroy any Open Directory replicas
Archive your Open Directory Master (to make a backup)
Note down your DNS records in case they get messed up
Export via Workgroup Manager your users, and groups (you might not need this but better safe than sorry), make sure you do not include the diradmin account
Keep a full back of the server (you should always have backups)
Note down your DHCP server settings in case they get messed up
Note down any other service settings
    Install Mountain Lion
    Install Server.app
Install Workgroup Manager (extra free download)
    Run Server.app
Make sure settings for services are as much as possible the same as before
If your lucky that may be all you need to do, otherwise...
Restore Open Directory archive, if your lucky that will be all you need to do, otherwise...
    Make new Open Directory Master
    Run Workgroup Manager
Import users and groups you previously exported
You will then have to set passwords for each user as these are not preserved via Workgroup Manager export
When I did this, I was also being forced to change all my IP addresses so I had no choice but to use Workgroup Manager to export and import accounts.

  • Migration from Withholding Tax ( Classic ) to Extended Withholding Tax

    Dear All,
I am doing the Migration from Withholding Tax ( Classic ) to Extended Withholding Tax, I am getting the following error.
I made all the customization and done the necessary process flow steps.
Now I am doing the last transaction i.e. Migration Programme ( J1INMIG )
I am getting the following error. i.e.
Health Check not carried out or health check has reported errors....
    Message no. 8I775
    Diagnosis
Before migration of data is carried out, it is advisable to carry out the integrity of customizing in both SAP ECC and CIN.
It appears that either the health check is not carried out, in which case it can be run using transaction j1inhc, or the  health check has reported errors.
    Procedure
Run health check program if not already run.
Resolve the errors reported in customizing and re run the health check.
In case you do not wish to use health check tool, manually update the field 'STATUS'as 'X'  for the company code.
So I checked in Health Check ( J1INHC ). Here All are showing the Green Status.
EXCEPT THE FOLLOWING IS IN YELLOW STATUS .
34            Invoice with Payment Type tax code  created in classic  cannot be executed after switching to EWT.
These documents have to be processed before switching to EWT.

I noticed that because the above documents are having the openitems and down payments. And If I clear the these documents it is becoming Green Status.
It means now my Health Check is correct, Because all are showing the Green status.
    Now If I run the Migration Programme ( ( J1INMIG )
IT IS NOT EXECUTING. IT IS GIVING THE MESSAGE THAT NO DOCUMENTS FOUND.
Kindly advise I don't understand the above Migration programme execution and the error details.
    Regards
    Kumar

    Hi All,
Nobody has not answered my issue.
Otherwise anybody can explain in detail about " MIGRATION PROGRAMME " ( J1INMIG ).
I want details about this last T.Code only i.e. J1INMIG and remaining all the necessary steps I completed.
An early reply will be highly appriciated.

  • Migration from WebSphere - Weblogic: RAS logger

What would be easy way or strategy to handle ibm ras logger when we migrate to weblogic?

    Guys:
The link provided caters to Websphere Studio to WebLogic 8.1. My requirement is migration from WebSphere 5.x to WebLogic. My current architecture is as follows:
    1. Front End: JSP (Ver 1.2), XSL, XML
    2. Middle Layer: EJB (EJB Ver 2.0) (Stateless Session Beans) (Deployed in IBM WebSphere 5.0)
    3. RDBMS: Oracle 9i Enterprise Edition - Release 2.
    4. Modal View Controller architecture (MVC)
    5. Number of JAR files: 137
    6. One WAR File
    7. Appserver OS: W2K.
All the files needs to be migrated to WebLogic 8.1 including the deployment descriptor.
Is there any tool for this conversion? Any white paper, proof of concept, document on steps, approach, risks, mitigation, etc will be helpful.
    Thanks in anticipation

  • Oracle10g database migration from MID to MIT

    Dear all,
im currently doing the migration from production server (MID) to dev server (MIT).
i've use 2 method below but all encounted the error and fail to import. hope some one can point the error and explain the some of my problem.
    1. used oracle exp and imp
    full database.
    - i've exp the full database and drop all the current R3 table by following selection syntax.
            select 'drop table sapsr3.' ||table_name|| ';' from user_table.
    - but some table fail to drop because some of the table name consist '//'
    - after doing imp, R3 cannot be start and keep show yellow status.
    - log file display 'waiting for termination icman'
Q1. is that the method i did is correct?
Q2. how do i drop the table which start from '//'
    single table.
    - i've exp a single table from database then imp.
    - while i check on SQL+. the table exist and consist data.
    - but when i check on GUI. the table doesn't exist.
Q3. is that the table imported is only import to oracle. but not R3?
Q4. how to make it completely update to R3?
    2. used SAP brtools.
    full database.
    - i've export a complete database backup(MID) by selected
backup and recovery -> database backup -> backup device type (disk)
    - then import the backup to MIT
restore and recovery->while dabase reset->select consistent database backup()->
check the status of database files()->restore control files and redolog files()->
restore data files() ->reset program status()
note: () means the whole process.
Q5. database restored from MID to MIT, but the MIT could not start R3. may i know what i miss to cross R3 could not start?
    single table
    - export single table thru segment management-> export table from MID.
    - import single table thru segment management-> import table to MIT.
Q6. error show oracle_home didnt set. but i've check on system enviroment and oracle_home is there. and i double confirm the variable by enter 'set'. Oracle_home still there. should i set oracle_home in cmd again?
note: pls state which method is preferable and which question is answering.
thanks and appreciate from yours reply.

finish patch the r3load and add the dbs/ora/tnsname = <SID> in the tnsname.

I figured that would cancel what I did however it removed the mailbox from the SBS 2008 list.
Please tell me that I can get it back.  It still shows up in the old SBS Exchange System Manager but now when an email is sent, it sends back a no delivery message.  It's like the account doesn't exist any more.

    Hi
I have not tried any migration from 5.2 to 6 yet. But I have seen a similar behavior when applying 5.2SP5 patch to a 5.2SP4 installation.
Have you checked that there is no problem with ports below 1024.
What I mean is that in the scenario I describe above the admin server run as root and the ds as user ldap. The upgrade should be run as the ds user. This means the upgrade process always fail as the slapd process will start again in the middle of the upgrade process. And the ldap user cannot start the slapd process as it uses port 389 which must be opened by user root. If you start over by changing the ports to high ports before the upgrade it seems to go better... But then the start of the admin server fail as this of course run as root to be able to start a ds server... Well done script Sun!
So maybe you experience a similar problem. Or you maby have SSL enabled and not autostart files with passwords...
    A longshot but worth asking...
    Regards
    /Per-Olov
