I don't mean the content. I find these Flash forums very
useful and helpful. It's the performance of the actual forum site
that makes me increasingly want to avoid this place. Click any
thread and it may or may not load, and when it does (often on the
3rd or 4th attempt) it takes between 30 and 90 seconds to load. I
note that many newcomers to this forum post the identical messages
3 or 4 times, probably because the molasses-slow performance makes
them worry their message didn't get posted. Am I the only one this
is happening to? If not, has it gotten gradually worse and worse
for you over the past couple weeks?
It's very frustrating because I enjoy learning and
contributing to the discussions here. I just want to find out if
it's a problem for me alone.
I'm using latest IE and Firefox on a clear, unshared 6MB
broadband connection. No problems with any other forums on the web,
just this one.
I have noticed that the forum (and only this one for me) has
been increasingly slow in the last day or two. Looks like it is
time for them to do some pruning, heh. And as it seems, something
seems to keep refreshing on this forum bout every 15 secs or so. If
it is not just me, then that might be contributing to the problem.
Anyways, back to hoping for an answer to the question I posted.
And, btw, personally I stay away from using email clients for
just about anything but an intranet, due to a large portion of
viruses dedicated to mail clients....specially Microsoft made
ones.

When you say the pro, do you mean MacBook Pro as your equipment shows or is that incorrect?

I have seen some posts floating about here complaining that photos don't or at least don't immediately sync to all devices. I think a small number of these people may not realise that syncing requires wifi and not 3G, one must also remember this community is like a doctors surgery, it is where people come if they have aches and pains.

I am working for active noise control inside a duct, I am using real time application with sampling rate 10 000, max. frequency 1500 Hz and 2 outputs.
I had a DAQ card 6221 M series is this sufficient for this application or I might use another.

Dear members of Oracle OLEDB team, you are the only one who can answer this (one page at oracle.com says that you are monitoring this forum):
ADO has Cancel method both on Command and Recordset object, which should cancel pending async call (every damn page on Internet says so). Oracle OCI interface has OCIBreak method that does exactly that. Now, why is Cancel method not working anything but waiting till the async call execution is fully completed (the call to Cancel method really blocks the calling thread!!) - it does not cancel anything, it just blocks the code !
I can expect that Microsoft didn't bother about this "insignificant" issue, but this is Oracle provider for Oracle server written by Oracle... - why is your provider behaving the same ?
I expect you to reply with really good explanation to this quite important issue, this is not a hundredth-time-"how to retrieve recordset from a stored procedure"-beginners-question

Please don't misunderstand, fetching is not a problem, only "heavy" command execution ("heavy" select statement in my case)There was, in the early 8.1.7 days at least, a bug in OCI where the break/ cancel call didn't work properly. I have no idea whether it was fixed or not and I've long since forgotten the number. You may be able to find it on metalink. You don't say what version of the client you have or whether you've installed any patchsets for the client. If you're not on the latest patchset for your platform, and your platform isn't at least 8.1.7, I'd strongly suggest upgrading.
Note that as a general rule, these forums aren't monitored by Oracle developers. From time to time they'll pop by, but it's not something that's likely to be their #1 priority. You could log a TAR on metalink to get an answer from an Oracle person.

Sync To CRM Time - Does This Cause Issues For Anyone Else?
I have been a long-time Eloqua user. Primarily, the companies that I have worked are B-to-B and serve small businesses. In the small business lead generation world, when you wait to respond to leads - you lose. The first one in usually gets the deal. We have all of our lead generation activities running through Eloqua, including our PPL campaigns where multiple competitors are also responding to RFQ's and also our inbound sales call center uses it (via form) to submit leads in order to take advantage of the de-duplication and validation power in Eloqua. The latter causes my sales team to wait 15 minutes while they are they are waiting for the lead to get created and transferred to them in CRM.
Here is my issue. At best, it takes Eloqua 15 minutes to sync the leads to SFDC. These programs are "straight to queue" integrations too. I am running integration events straight from the form processing steps, so there are no program builder delays here. The guys in Support have been really great, and have been working with me to see what can be done to decrease the lag time, but 15 minutes seems to be the acceptable rate. So, I am starting to think of ways to take them directly to SFDC and just live with the issues of duplicates and no validation.
I can't be the only one that this causes issues for. Does anyone else have this issue?Hi John,
I too have had these issues. The main problem is not program builder. The integration queue/engine is prone to backlogs. Rumor has it that the integration engine is shared by the campaign engine and a bunch of other services in the platform. Either way, the integration queue will always have a lag.
My solution was:
1. Push data from ELQ form to a SFDC Web-toLead Form IF ELQ contact has blank LeadID and ContactID (does not exist in SFDC) -- this creates leads instantly in SFDC.
2. Run an apex trigger from SFDC to do a blind form submit to Eloqua with the email address and SFDC Lead ID for the leads created from step1 -- this will ensure that creating duplicate leads in SFDC is minimized.
3. Send notifications from ELQ form to Sales Reps if ELQ contact already exists in SFDC as Lead or Contact. -- even without the updates on the lead or contact records in sfdc, this gives the reps an immediate heads up.
4. Send the rest of the information that I couldn't fit into the post-data-to-server step for the new lead.
Of course I also baked into the form processing steps a bunch of conditions to mitigate spam. -
Problem: Why does this only work for powers of 2?
I wrote this program to create a golf league schedule for, ideally, eight players. However I want it to be flexible enough to permit for other denominations, such as 10 or 12. When I run the program it works perfectly for any number that is a power of 2 (2,4,8,16,32,etc...) but it will not work for other even numbers such as 6,10, or 12. If anyone has any insights it would be most helpful.

}//end WeekAh, I have discovered the problem. The reason for the infinite loop was because of the resetting of the counter/index after every successful match entry back to (a - 1). This was causing matches to be put into weeks where they didn't belong, which caused the program to infinitely loop because it couldn't find an appropriate week to place it's next match. The only time the count should be reset back to zero is when a new player A is being processed or the last valid array index has been referenced before an out of bounds exception would be thrown. I'm still not entirely sure why this doesn't occur on powers of 2 but theh again I haven't put too much thought into it having solved the initial problem! :)

After downloading Maverick on the MacBook Pro that I bought in 2011, I am unable to open iPhoto. The message says "You can't use this version of the application "iPhoto" with this version of OS X. You have "iPhoto" 9.2.3" What??? That is ridiculous. Why doesn't Maverick download everything? I've tried the "fixes" I found on this forum, but none of them work for me, because there is no workaround via the library. I can't access the library.
I have an old iPhoto version and it still works with Mavericks, the version before yours, that is puzzling.

Follow a logic tree and hope that the questions asked were for the actual problem. The real problem is that words mean things and if we each have our own meaning.
Freeze--- 5 minutes I see no change? 10 minutes? 2 days later the computer has not done anything?
Hangs up - - no change in 5 minutes? no change in 10 minutes? no change in 30 seconds? 2 days later the screen is different it turned it's self off.
hesitates - - no change in 30 seconds, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 2 tv shows later there is something different.
I am a patient person. Hesitates no change 30 seconds; hangs 2 tv shows later; and freeze 2 days later. Some one else may react differently 2 seconds for hesitates, 30 seconds hangs, freezes 31 seconds.
So the cook book teck may ask whats your problem give you 4 answers to choose from. And each of us may give different answers from our unique prospective. Me it was hangs up where the same problem may be a hesitation or a freeze to another. Of course then the teck decides to enter another answer cos she don't think you know what you are talking about....

In the develop module, when I switch to B&W treatment, my understanding was that a different set of sliders such as fill light, brightness would appear. I just see the same sliders as with color treatment. Any thoughts - Thanks
