Does this looks Normal Usage?

I just bought iphone 4s, and a bit confused about the timing of its battery. Can some one please tell me is this usage time is normal for iphone 4s?
Thanks.

There is no such thing as "normal" because no two people use their devices exactly the same.
That being said, do you have issues with battery life?  Does the device make it through a full day on a single charge?
Personally I've never understood the fascination with, nor cared what the usage stats show.  I never look at them.  If I can make it through a full day on a single charge, that's "normal" for me.  If I cannot... something odd is occurring, typically a rogue app in the background.

    Computer is in excellent condition, has been well loved and well upgraded:- 200GB hard disk (5400rpm) Dual 867 MHz, 1MB L3 cache per processor 1.25GB DDR SDRAM 16x DVD+/- RW (Superdrive) 4x DVD+ RW (original Superdrive) 4x USB 2.0 ports 2x USB 1.0 ports 2x Firewire ports Airport Card (WiFi) Ethernet Card 56kbps Modem Digital in/out for audio Again it is in excellent condition, well loved.
    Oh and there is still 2 slots left for memory upgrade and 4 other slots for your other upgrades, i.e. more firewire, usb, graphics card, music adaptors etc. I used the machine mostly for video editing and graphic design and it handles everything I throw at it. It is a beast of a computer but sadly by job entails I have a laptop now I will also include all the software that comes with it.
    Think it sounds good? What price do you reckon???
    Thank you!

    G4 I hope

    If you do decide to bid I'd keep in mind that it's the base model MDD G4 with a 133MHz system bus (the others had 167MHz). It's also one of the original models that got the nickname of wind tunnel as they could be fairly noisy, so much so that Apple under went a power supply replacement program using quieter fans, which may be an issue if it's intended for audio use. I'm not sure whether it's had the power supply replaced, but Verax also offered a noise reduction kit, which may give some indication of how noisy it can be.
    I'm not trying to put you off though, but I'd keep the above in mind if you do intend to place a bid.

    Hi i received the nano 7th gen for Christmas and I only seem to get 5 hours of battery life. I use the Bluetooth and Nike app so I expect more drain on the battery.  But I got more time out of running with my iPhone. Does this sound normal? I thought I should get close to 30 hrs of just play time alone.
    ALso, my wife got me the Belkin armband to run with the nano but I sweat through the band resulting in the back of the iPod to get wet. Surely this is not good. Anyone have a recommendation for an armband that keeps moisture away from the pod?

    iPod Nano are small and they don't use Wi-Fi access so you get less power time on a Nano. As for iPhone, since you got apps, Wi-Fi + 3G access, and everything else, they give you more time so you can keep using. Nanos are ment to listen to music, listen to radio, view your photos, watch videos (without Wi-Fi) and since you got BlueTooth on the nano, it counts as wireless access so it drains your battery faster.

  • Does this look sort of right?

    How do I create an object called myBook that would call the constructor that requires 3 arguments?
    Does this look sort of right in terms of making a conscructor?
    //Constructor
    setTitle(newTitleFloat);
    setUnit(newUnitFloat);
    setQuantity(new(QuantityFloat);
    calculateInterest();

    It's hard to know what you need w/out more information. But as a for instance, If I had a class with the following fields:
    class MyBook
        private String title = "";
        private double unit = 0.0;
        private int quantity = 0;
        private double interest = 0.0;
    }Then a possible constructor could be:
        public MyBook(String title, double unit, int quantity)
            this.title = title;
            this.unit = unit;
            this.quantity = quantity;
            calculateInterest();
        }Assuming of course that the class also has a method called calculateInterest().
    It could be called like so:
        public static void main(String[] args)
            MyBook myBook = new MyBook("Tale of Two Skivies", 3.55, 5);
        }ps: please learn to use code tags. It makes your code much more readable.

    Does this make you feel better about Adium?

    I have seen safari go up to as much as 300+ MBs and iTunes hit around 200+ MBs.
    That is completely normal, don't worry about it. As you can see mine is quite lower, but it will eventually rise after extended use.

  • New PC - does this look suitable?

    I'm looking to replace an old PC with a custom build:
    - i7-3770 3.4GHz
    - H77 chipset
    - 16GB DDR-1600 RAM
    - 3TB HDD
    - 256GB SSD
    - DVD Writer
    - On board graphics only
    - RaidMax Super Hurricane case
    - 500W PSU
    - Win8 or 7 64 bit
    - Card Reader
    I will continue to use a 30" (2560*1600) monitor.
    Does this spec look suitable for Lightroom / PSE and some basic video editing in Premiere Elements with plenty of headroom (I assume LR5 will gobble even more resources than LR4!!)?

    I would look seriously at a Xeon Quad processor instead of the i7 even if the Xeon had only 2.8 Ghz or 3 Ghz.
    Processor speed is not everything; you also need to look at workload, i.e. throughput.
    Don't be taken in for a "gamer's PC" - a gamer needs speed above all but the games have a relatively "thin" data stream.
    16 GB of RAM seems almost overkill; I have 12 GB and run Lr and Photoshop (+ a bunch of other programs) at the same time with no problems.
    I would replace the 3 TB drive with 3 drives @ 500 GB each. Keep in mind that with Lr that constantly reads and writes to and from the HD, the read-and write cycles build up. If you have only one internal HD it has to do all the read-and-write cycles and that can slow down your system, i.e. your RAM and processor have to wait for the drive to spin and do its reading and writing.
    But if you have 3 internal drives you are able to distribute the read-and-write cycles on 3 drives simultaneously.
    I'm not sure about your onboard graphics. When I looked into the specs of my new computer (now about 9 months old) I found that onboard graphics alone would not be optimal.
    Again, i think it's good enough for browsing the web and gaming. But photo editing, particularly if you have a camera with a full-frame sensor, i.e. large Raw-files, it's a different matter.
    I would not go with onboard graphics alone - my personal opinion. But then again, you can try it out, and - if there's a slot for it - get a graphics card later.

  • Does this look right? (see photo)

    look at the connection piece for the power charger. The two end parts (and other places) are black. Does this mean I need to go to the Apple store to get this replaced somehow?
    in the past, I have experienced burning myself when I touched the charger...
    it currently smells really weird. it has a smell of metal (but stronger) along with the smell of something rotting.
    the computer has trouble charging. The charger itself works on my mom's Macbook2008, but not on mine. It works only about 33% of the time, and it is becoming annoying. Even when it is charging, one touch to the charger and I need to spend at least 5 min trying to get it charging again.
    This is a early2011 MBP. Are there similar problems out there on other MBP's of the same type?

    I would take that computer to an Apple Store or reseller to get it diagnosed just because of security, and it's dangerous to have the MagSafe in that status, more when you have problems charging the MacBook

  • Trained for ADSL2+, does this look about right

    I got migrated from ADSLmax over to ADSL2+ about 10 days ago, and since then the line has been training. Please could someone look at the stats below and tell me if this looks about right?
    I changed from a HH1.5 to HH2.0. I was hoping to get about 19MBit/s, based on the fairly low attenuation, but it appears to have settled on 14.5MBit/s. I have left the router switched on without interruption for about 1 week now. It drops and reconnects about once per day, which I assume is normal during training. The noise margin seems to have settled on about 6dB, which I believe is fairly normal as well.
    Any thoughts?
    I suspect that this is probably as good as it gets for me, but would appreciate someone knowledgeable checking for me, thanks

  • I'm having issues with my battery - does this sound normal?

    I've had my 13in MBP barely 8 months and its been going downhill for the last month or 2 now.
    When i first got it, the battery was great- the battery estimate consistently said 9 hours plus after a full charge and it would easily do this- i got a whole day of web browsing at uni and and hour or 2 of Illustrator and still had some battery left when i got home.
    For the last 2 months however, the battery has been pants. The highest estimate value i get when i turn on after a full charge is around 3-4 hours and its not lasting well at all, I can browse the internet for an hour or 2 and the battery drops rapidly - i loose between 30-50% in this short space of time. I would expect this kind of drop if i am using a high power program such as the adobe suite but for just browsing the internet (not even streaming videos just normal web) this seems a lot.
    It has had some abuse (99 cycles already) but it still seems to have just gone quickly.
    i downloaded the coconut battery app and it says my battery capacity has dropped to 90%, is this normal for an 8 month old machine? i expected to have to replace the battery eventually but if its deteriorating this quickly its going to get expensive :|

    After 99 cycles, you can expect a certain loss of charge with a lithium battery. But before you become too concerned, I'd like to give some advice that might make things easier.
    I haven't used your MBP, but I can almost guarantee that your battery is suffering from lithium battery fatique. It happens when your battery is hot all the time. Even doing mundane activities like web browsing, heat reduces the performance of lithium batteries.
    Your battery health is a bit lower than some, given the vintage of your machine, but it's well within an acceptable range - especially since it's getting a lot of use. But I'll suggest a few hints that might cut down on the wear and tear on your battery.
    - Keep your machine cool! Make this a priority. I've seen some MBP users with their machines on their laps - which doubles the temperature. Take breaks in your routine to keep your machine cool. You might want to download a free application like SMC Fan Control. Use a cooling pad. Reduce the brightness of your machine.
    - Think about using your power cable more. You can cut down on battery use simply by using the power cable judiciously. You won't have to worry about the amount of cycles if it's getting powered through the power cable.
    I hope you'll post here with your results or questions!

  • Z77A-G45 OC, Does this look good and how can it be improved?

    -Please take a look at my rig in my sig
    -Can I take this higher with the air cooling I have, or is there really no need since I'm basically just gaming? (WoW, Witcher 2, Battlefield 3, Skyrim)
    -I've run PRIME95+ blend for 4 hours with no problems/errors
    ALSO, I want to overclock my video card, but no luck so far. Any time I increase it's values my PC shuts down
    -Do I need to change the voltage to my VGA independently from my CPU voltage settings, and if so, where do I do that?
    Thank you so much for your input. I'm having fun messing with this stuff, but it's more complicated than I realized.

    EDIT: BTW, for some reason I can't change the core ration limits, they're gray now, did i change something I wasn't supposed to?
    Make all you changes in UEFI /Bios not clickbios, if those aren't there, you probably either have EIST disabled or Turbo Disabled. In some bio's you need to use the +/- keys on the number pad not mouse clicks to change them. If you are going to use clickbios II you need to enable making cpu mulitplier changes in the OS.
    Download and install www.cpuid.com this program will help you moniter how you OC is doing.

    Also, should I be changing my voltage manually, and not on [Auto]. I'm assuming just start low and increase till stable?
    With the Turbo method, all voltges are in Auto. You are correct in regards to a hard oc.

  • Setting up a new network - How does this look?

    Hello,
    Current layout of network - http://i30.tinypic.com/fkywav.jpg
    We currently use this way of setting up our network and we may be moving to a new office so i'm looking at the best way of setting up the new network while we have a relatively clean slate. All wiring is done via CAT5e ethernet.
    We run OS X Server 10.5 and use the following services within the building. File sharing, email, internet. We backup all machines individually with external drives but i'm looking at getting a large storage device to enable everyone to backup to one location using Time Machine Server.
    I'd like to know if the way our network is currently set up is the correct way for what we need. In the near future i'd like to start using iCal sharing, and hosting websites internally for web development.
    Regards
    James

    What you have will work; it's fairly typical network.
    The physical plant, and the plans for expansion, and the current speeds and feeds are also key details when designing a network.
    Cat5e? Don't skimp. Go Cat6 or better. Wiring is always around and in use for far longer than any of us want, and the cost of installation is comparatively vastly higher than the cost of the wire itself; retrofitting is to be avoided.
    As part of avoiding unnecessary retrofitting, run extra Cat6 or better wiring in parallel, too. Prepare to segment your network based on business organization or on physical organization, or both. The extra runs can provide physical redundancy, and bandwidth. The incremental cost of building out with extra (spare) wire is negligible. The cost of not having a wiring run where you need it is higher.
    Without knowledge of the physical plant, I'd also look at the establishment of wiring closets and such; you'll usually have a star at the core of the network in a smaller configuration, then stars at the wiring closet(s) (if any) and out at the desktop. This may be a plan now, and you have the wiring in place for the main runs to retrofit a server closet as you need it. Long wire runs out from the core are a pain. In a moderate or larger network, you'll be using the backhaul connections to the network cores; runs between server closets. (And if you may add server closets, remember the need for cooling can arise.)
    Depending on your plans and your network activities, I might (also) establish higher-bandwidth wiring between the wiring closets; what amount to backhaul connections. Either used up front, or in the closets should you need to place switches further out.
    Also look for corner cases, such as a business and operational environment where you'll be running a dozen or two client netboot operations at exactly 8:01 each and every morning as each staffer arrives and boots up the workstation; these cases can play havoc with aggregate bandwidth and server requirements.
    You may want to consider a parallel network (whether WiFi or wired) for guest access; a conference room or conference center network. You'll almost certainly want 11G and 11N WiFi for your own internal use, too.
    Yes, I usually overbuild these things. Planning and wiring are (comparatively) cheap. Installation isn't.
    Backing up to a Mac OS X Server disk or a TC disk via TM is part of what you need. If you get corrupted archival volume(s) or if your RAID array is somehow damaged or lost or stolen, you're in deep sneakers. I've had a couple of TC archives corrupted; stuff happens. Plan for off-site archives.

    This picture is right off of the Apple website.
    Is this the new, larger iPad that is coming next from Apple that everyone keeps writing about?

    I have had some time to look at this, it could be either the cover/screen for a MacBook/Pro/Air.
    It's kinda hard to tell, but if this was a larger iPad, I think the Apple Logo on the back should be turned 90 degrees clockwise?
