Does this ram fit into my MacBook?

Hey gang.
It's time to upgrade my ram, therefore I have been looking at 2 gb. sticks. I was just about to order Kingston HyperX ram, but then I got to thinking if the ram can even fit into the ram slots since the HyperX ram has a little extra height to it (consult picture)

So what do ya say? does it fit?
Best regards

Any RAM the meets the specifications outlined in the Adding Memory section of your user manual will work. Since you didn't provide a specific model number nor the image posted provide any specifications, it's impossible to give you an answer to your question.
I did a little bit of research, despite the fact that I can't read Norwegian.
The photo came from this:
http://www.komplett.no/k/ki.aspx?sku=350893
Which is this:
http://www.valueram.com/datasheets/KHX5300S2LLK2_4G.pdf
PCB : Height 1.180” (30.00mm), double sided component
The following says that the memory should be no more than 30 mm.
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1651
It should be OK. This is a CL=4 memory, which theoretically yields a small performance boost. Other World Computing sells some CL=4 kits.

  • I recently bought a Macbook Air and a Thunderbolt Display and the laptop's power is supposed to come from the display, but the power cable on the display does not fit into the Macbook Air.

I recently bought a 11" Macbook Air and a 27" Thunderbolt Display. The laptop's power is supposed to come from the display when connected, but the power cable on the display does not fit into the Macbook Air.

If your MBair is a 2012 model, it has a Magsafe 2 power connection.  The monitor probably has the old magsafe connection.  If this is the case, you need this adapter.

  • Will a Macbook Pro HD fit into my Macbook?

I have a friend that is exchanging his internal HD from his Macbook Pro. He offered me an excelent deal on his old 250Gb HD. Will it fit into my Macbook?
    Thanks for your inputs!

The only reason it would not fit would be physical size of the drive. Go to one of the online stores, look for a hard drive of the same capacity for both the MacBook and the Pro. If they are the same then it should fit.
Once you are ready to install the drive back up your entire existing drive with time machine. Install the new drive (its easy I replaced mine with a 250 gb) the instructions are on the internet. Then boot from your OSX disk. Repartition the new drive then restore your drive from the time machine backup and reboot. When I did this the only thing that happened when I rebooted is that OSX wanted me to reregister. Otherwise everything looked and worked the same.

  • Will this RAM fit ?

Will this RAM be supported in a 2010 MBP ?
Only difference I can see is that standard RAM is 1066mhz and this is 1333mhz.
    http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/laptop-memory/ddr3-sodimm/ddr3-sodimm/ocz- ddr3-pc3-10600-ddr3-value-sodimm-8gb-edition.html
And does anyone know of any other memory providers that make RAM to fit a MBP ?

204 pin looks like it would fit, however I think what you are looking for is PC8500 DDR3 1066MHz 204 Pin?
You can read more on bus speed and overclocking. Depends on what you are primary using your computer for. You can decide for yourself, google "1066mhz and this is 1333mhz."

  • When I edit photo's in Iphoto on my ipad2, it decreases the resolution. Why does this happen and does this also happen on a macbook air?

I have made pictures on high resolution with a Canon 100D camera, which means the pictures are 5-6 MB.
But when I edit them on my Ipad2 in Iphoto it decreases the size and resolution of the pictures to about 0.5MB
Does anyone know why Iphoto decreases the resolution of my pictures when I edit them?
And does this also happen with Iphoto on a macbook air?
    Thank you.
    Onno

I have made pictures on high resolution with a Canon 100D camera, which means the pictures are 5-6 MB.
Are the photos raw photos or jpeg? When you edit raw photos in iPhoto on your iPad, the raw image will not be processed, only the embedded jpeg. That will reduce the resolution of the image considerably.
But when I edit them on my Ipad2 in Iphoto it decreases the size and resolution of the pictures to about 0.5MB
How do you save he edited version after editing?  That will determine, if the image will be scaled down,
For a full-resolution edit you need to share the edited photo to the Camera Roll,
see this help page:   Edit a photo
If you edit a photo in the iPhoto Camera Roll album, the edited photo automatically appears in the Camera Roll on your iOS device, at the resolution of your device. If you want a full-resolution version of the edited photo sent to the Camera Roll, tap and tap Camera Roll. The full-resolution photo appears in the Camera Roll, and is transferred to your computer when you sync the Camera Roll with your computer.
And does this also happen with Iphoto on a macbook air?
iPhoto on a Mac has a lossless workflow. iPhoto will always store the original image file that you imported and compute an edited version from this stored original.  The quality of the photo you will see outside iPhoto will depend on the methode you use for sharing. You can export at the original size or scaled down, depending on the purpose you want teh photo for, small for email and web presentation, full versions for printing, for example.

  • Why won't my usb cords fit into my macbook air usb ports?

I've had my macbook air for three years now and for the past month no usb cable is able to fit into my usb port. it's as if something is blocking it and I'm not sure why.

Use compressed air to blow out any accumulated debris and then gently wipe it down using a Qtip

  • Does this case fit the iphone 5c

Hey does this case work for my new iphone 5c http://www.exotic-ideas.com/iphone-cases-skins/goodlen-wooden-iphone-5-case-skin -handmade-wooden-cases-for-iphone-5-5s-5c-walnut-rosewood-white-maple-cherry-woo d-4-choices-2-parts-clip-on.html

Talk to the vendor selling the case. We would have no way of knowing. Maybe they have different actual cases depending on the device you are purchasing it for? Contact them to see what they can tell you.
    Cheers,

The specs of the corsair vengence seem to be the same as what goes into it and it is at a great price, the crucial memory is rather expencive and i cant buy of macsales as i live in ireland.
Not the same timings - the one you want is at CL 9 - the one being sold by OWC is at CL 11 which is 2 wait states slower.  The same goes with Crucial and Corsair - they're all at CL 11
The ones you want might work - you willing to take a chance?
Why not spend the extra $$ and get the one that's Apple Certified and not have any issues when you install them.
Here's a set of Kingston for your Macbook if you want to save some money.
In any event, it's all up to you.
Good luck with that - hope it goes smoothly for you.

  • Does this shelf fit my iMac 27 inch late 2012

    Hi,
Does the Twelve South BackPack 2 Adjustable Shelf fit my imac 27 inch late 2012?
I just ordered one from apple just now and noticed afterwards (should have read it all first) that it said not compatible with imac (fall 2012) models.
Is that me? I bought the imac in January 2013, it's the new slim model. Should I cancel the order or will it fit. I wanted it to hold the USB Superdrive out of sight?
    Thanks, Crankyhead.

Best Buy carries that item (at least in this area) and they also have the iMacs, so I'd suggest going there and checking it out.
FWIW, there is no 2013 model iMac; anything sold at this time is the late/fall 2012 model. As for whether it fits or not - I don't have a late 2012; I bought a backpack for my mid 2010 and did not care for it (didn't appear to be solid enough to hold a hard drive which is probably heavier than a superdrive), so I returned it.

  • Can I use this RAM for a 2010 MacBook Pro: Kingston 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333?

I don't want to waste money or ruin my MacBook Pro?
    Here are the specs:
    Kingston
    Model
    KVR1333D3SOK2/8GR
    Type
    204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM
    Tech Spec
    Capacity
    8GB (2 x 4GB)
    Speed
    DDR3 1333
    Cas Latency
    9
    Voltage
    1.5V
    ECC
    No
    Buffered/Registered
    Unbuffered
    Multi-channel Kit
    Dual Channel Kit

No you can not use it.  Your mac uses DDR3 1066, not 1333.  You need this type of ram:
    204-pin PC3-8500 (1066 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM

  • My headphones will not fit into my macbook air

Yesterday they fit perfectly with no problems, I have been using the same or similar pairs since i got the laptop. But today, they just will not go into the jack. It is not the headphones, they work just fine on my iPod and other devices. So it is a problem with the laptops jack. Anybody have a suggestion?

I went and checked, there was a headphone jack thingy (part of headphones that goes into computer) inside that had broken off from my brother using it. I got it out though by putting super glue on the tip of a de-fuzzed quetip. And stuck the broken piece to it, it was successful, and no glue got left in the port. Thanks for the help.

  • Does Adding Ram To A New MacBook Pro Void The Warranty?

I am considering getting one at the end of the month and this answer will probably help me decide whether to get the 2 gig or 4 gig model.

Not an issue at all. I have upgraded all of my systems, and never have I had an issue with Apple support.
