Does this seem legitimate?

I don't know if this is the proper forum for my subject. If it isn't, I'd appreciate knowing where I should post this question.
I have been subscribed to Boxee for probably six months, but I haven't used it because something was wrong with it. I still don't find it to be user friendly, but I'm now trying to learn.
Today I noticed that I had received eleven messages. They all use identical language to tell me that my computer might be hosting malware. Maybe they'e just being helpful, but maybe there's something more sinister behind these messages. Here's one of the messages. Does it seem believable?
"Dear, [NAMES DELETED]
There are viruses' activities from your computer! Highly recommend you to scan your computer for malicious and potentially unwanted software. If you do not follow this, I will have to make a complaint to your Internet Service Provider with attached log file (your IP address, etc.). If you want to find a report about your computer's security and solve every problem with it, please click here: http://www.**************

Niku: Thanks for the quick reply, Don. Thanks also to Miriam and the intrepid b noir. I'll take your collective advice and resist the temptation to click on their suggested link. I'm also in the process of dealing with a message that allegedly came from UPS. The problem is that Earthlink said not to open it because it contained a virus. I would ordinarily have ignored such a message, but it is a fact that the package I mailed to myself in December never arrived, and the message UPS sent (I finally did open it) mentioned that it had been sent in December. Therefore, because of the December mailing and because of Mac's strength in dealing with viruses, I took a chance. That enable me to read the message, but I couldn't open the attachment that came with it. Now I waiting to see if UPS answers my message (No, I didn't supply any valuable personal information). If they don 't answer today, I'll call to see if such a person works at UPS.
