Does thunderbird have an out of office function?
Is it possible to set an out of office reply in Thunderbird?
No it is not.... there are various tutorials about for using filter, but it is entirely unsatisfactory when you get it.

I need to do live streaming with a Mac Book Pro 2011, using a new model of Sony HD camcorder (http://store.sony.co...ber=HDRAX2000/H) ..this camcorder model does not have firewire out/input ..it comes only with a component video output, USB, HDMI and composite A/V video output..
I wonder how can I plug this camcorder to the firewire port of my laptop? Browsing on internet I found that Grass Valley Company produces this converter http://www.amazon.co...=A17MC6HOH9AVE6 ..but I am not sure -not even after checking the amazon reviews- if this device will send the video signal through firewire to my laptop, in order to live streaming properly? ..anyone in this forum could help me please?
ThanxI can't broadcast with the built in iSight webcam... how would I zoom in or zoom out? or how would I pan? I've seem people doing it walking with their laptops but that's not an option for me... there's nothing wrong with my USB ports but that's neither an option to stream video because as far as I know through USB you can't connect video in apple operating systems ..you can for sure plug any video cam or photo camera through usb but as a drive to transfer data not as a live video camera... is by firewire an old interface developed by apple that you can connect all sorts of cameras to apple computers... unfortunately my new sony HDR-AX2000 camcorder doesn't have firewire output...
thanx -
Does Thunderbird have an eraser? If so whereis it?
Apple mail has an eraser. Does Thunderbird have an eraser? If so, where is it?
I have no idea what an eraser is, other than something I was made to clean for my teacher when I was at school millennia ago. As that was for chalk I am fairly sure that is not what you mean.
So perhaps you could explain what it is, as I am unaware of any Mac users who frequent this forum that I could consult. Undo perhaps (Ctrl+Z)? -

HT4641 Does pages have a document password protection function
Does pages have a password protection function since adobe PDF for IPhone3gs or IPad2 does not?
If you were to think laterally about this, you could also create encrypted archives for just those folders or files you were interested in to minimise the possible harm. Similar to the disk images Magnus suggested, but slightly less trouble. Modern Macs are very fast at unarchiving these files so you can work on them then archive them again without too much trouble.
I am a great fan of those tiny USB harddrives and thumbdrives, which easily slip into your pocket so you can take them with you.
My backup consists of a set of three 4Gb USB thumbdrives for my documents and 3 differently colored USB harddrives for my larger material.
If your work is on these, you simply detach them from your computer and keep them locked up or on your person.
Nobody will be able to access those without bailing you up.
… And of course you can use a combination of any and all of the above suggestions. -
Does thunderbird have a quick view feature like windows live mail?
This feature provides a view of all emails in all of the inboxes for all the email addresses.
''Sorry, confused this thread with a different question!''
As far as I can tell, Thunderbird does not have a built-in "AutoPreview" feature which can show the beginning of the message body in the inbox.
There may be a tooltip when you hover over the line in the Inbox, but that is a lot slower than having the text there automatically.
The text may appear in a notification pane pop up that shows your newest messages, but that is transitory and doesn't help for older messages.
So, I guess you would need an extension to add this, if such an extension exists. -
I searched online to find out how to find my address book and found an article that said to look in Users\username\appdata\local\thunderbird. I did not find it there, so I did more searching and found it in Users\username\appdata\roaming\thunderbird. Do I need the Users\username\appdata\local\thunderbird directory, or is It a leftover from a previous version of Thunderbird? I would like to delete it if I don't need it.
Background info:
When Thunderbird program is installed it puts it here:
* C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird\
or if using windows 64bit, it will be here:
* C:\Program Files(x86)\Mozilla Thunderbird\
when you run Thunderbird, it will create a default profile and this is where all your mail accounts, address books, filters, passwords etc are stored. Use for backup purposes.
* C:\Users\Windows user name\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\Profile name\
Windows also creates some cache folders and files, which is stored here:
* C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Thunderbird
These files and folders do not contain any emails etc and are not required for backup purposes.
You can clear the cache from Thunderbird.
Tools > clear Recent history.
Windows uses the AppData\Local.

Does anyone have any idea why various functions in CC 2014 on Mac would just stop working?
I'm working away and all of a sudden Place won't work. Or update links, or duplicate etc. and from that point on, whilst I can still manually move things about I can't do much else and have to restart Illustrator.
It's a clean install on a MacBook Pro running OS X Yosemite.I'm using RDC 2.1.1 on a Macbook Air 11.6 and multiple monitors (Dell 19" + internal).
I use RDC when on location at a client's site. I recently changed from a 13" Aluminum Macbook with Snow Leopard (latest) to the MBA running Lion.
I think I re-installed the RDC app from a web download.
It works pretty well most of the time. About 2 or 3 times a day I have to shut it down and re-start it.
Symptom? It seems to freeze. Usually when it "freezes" I can Command+Tab to another screen and wait for a few seconds and then it begins to work again.
I also installed CoRD Version 0.5.5 (5500) which works without error. If you cannot get RDC running, try CoRD. The Function Key mapping is not quite as cool as RDC but it is a strong app.

My ISP says it doesn't impose a limit on the number of recipients in a group email, BUT still I get a Thunderbird error msg. Why?
Well, no, because 4 or 5 times a year, someone writes in with pretty much exactly your question because they too have had a message refused with the "too many recipients" warning. We suggest they use a Mailing List and all is well.

I was just wondering whether ExtendScript has any concept like a main method, whereby if the current script is included by another script like a library import it will not execute this main function/method and only execute it when the script is run directly.
Similar to Java's main() method and Python's __main__.
If not, is there a workaround to mimic such behavior generically?I cannot reproduce this. Can you create a very simple repro of this issue and post to OneDrive?

Outlook 2007 Out of Office does not work
Hello,
Our local network uses Exchange Server 2008 and has clients connected with Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010. Recently one of the users reported that Outlook 2007 cannot access the Out Of Office function. When he tries Outlook reports that the server is unavailable.
I confirmed this on 2 machines which use Outlook 2007. I also tested on 2 machines using Outlook 2010 and they do not have the problem. Per a ms support kb article, I tried using a new Outlook profile for one of the Outlook 2007 machines and it made no difference.
I am able to use the Out of Office feature when using Outlook Web Access for the machines which use Outlook 2007. Due to this I’m pretty sure the issue is Outlook 2007. The machines are current for Windows and Office updates. Any suggestions on how to resolve
this?
Thank you,I believe you mean Exchange 2007.
OWA is a completely separate mechanism to access the Out Of Office service. Not relevant.
Check your AutoDiscover for your OOF address, with that address attempt to connect to that address via client machine, you should get an XML return. If no return or error message, move forward from there. -

Hi,
I've just installed this patch:
http://sunsolve.sun.com/search/document.do?assetkey=1-21-139162-01-1
Which, among other things, it says:
6646791 Outlook connector to implement its own UI for Out-of-Office functionality.
I applied the patch and rebuilt the connector. When doing a diff of the new .ini file and a previous one, I find two new variables:
Use_UWC_Url=0
ExpungeOnDelete=0
So I deleted the existing profile and reinstalled with the new .exe. But I'm still being redirected to the uwc URL when trying to set the out of office message. Does someone know if this feature is really implemented in the patched connector?
Thanks,
n.

Outlook 2013's Out of Office auto replies gives an error.
Outlook 2013 says the Exchange server is unavailable when you click on the Out of Office button. It connects to an Exchange 2013 server with autodiscover set up. It doesn't change when I increased the size of the ruleset cache nor does it change
when I add a SRV record "acbrownit.wordpress.com/2012/12/20/internal-dns-and-exchange-autodiscover/". The internal and external virtual directory addresses are also correct. OWA works but I needed to be able to do this with Outlook.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.Hi ,
As per my knowledge this is purely related to autodiscover issue .
1.Please have your outlook anywhere internal name and autodiscover name in internet explorer proxy exceptions .
2.Same time please check whether you have properly configured the web services and autodiscover url in all the cas servers .Because web services are responsible for availability services like OAB,OOF and free busy informations .
3.Then do the test email configuration and check the outlook is receiving the correct url for web services and also ensure the outlook is properly patched.
4.If you wanted have out of office to get work for external users you should have an autodiscover record in external dns and also the autodiscover queries should have to be routed to the proper cas server or LB
In addition to that web services virtual directory should have to accessible for external outlook users in internet .
Most importantly you should have to check whether you have disable out of office replies for remote domains or not .
Have look in to the below mentioned blog which will give you more clarity about OOF:
http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2011/09/08/configure-automatic-replies-for-a-user-in-exchange-2010.aspx
Please reply me if you have any queries .

Out of office message when sending mail to Lotus Notes from SAP
Hi,
Is it possible to have an 'out of office' message when sending mail to Lotus Notes from SAP?
I'm sending account statements by mail via a modified version of function FI_OPT_ARCHIVE_CORRESPONDENCE. The SAP username is send as a parameter, and later converted to the e-mail saved in the user profile. This works, - but I would like to have an out of office reply if the user I send to is out of office.
Hope someone can help...
Regards,
LeneAs Thomas pointed out, you can use regular SMTP mail to send the contents to Lotus Notes. You can use the function module SO_OBJECT_SEND or any of the SAP Office function modules to do this.
Only thing to remember is that the SMTP may have been disabled by your basis team due to security risks involved. An alternative could be a lotus notes connector available from IBM.
