Does U410 support USB hot plug?

Hi,
Do any of the USB ports in the U410 support 'hot plug'?
(I have a Logitech Wireless Headset that uses a USB 'nano receiver' and I'm trying to work out if it's safe to remove the nano receiver whilst the laptop is on (and potentially sending signals (e.g. playing music) to the nano receiver))
Scott

hi Scott,
Yes, you can unplug the receiver to automatically switch the audio to the built-in speakers.
In an event that the audio doesn't switch back to the built-in speakers, try set the laptop speakers as the default playback device under Sound Properties

  • Elements 8 does not support USB 2.0 Webcams?

From what I've gathered Adobe Premiere Elements 8 does not support USB 2.0 Webcams, only supporting USB 1.0 .  Is there a driver or something to allow support for USB 2.0 Webcams?
    - I have an Xbox Live Vision Camera.
    - Windows 7 Professional (Awesome)
    - Adobe Premiere Elements 8 trial version
I don't wat to buy this until I know my webcam will work.  I liked the onion skinning ability of Adobe, but if I can't get my webcam to work it doesn't really help.
    Thanks.

USB Web-cams pose all sorts of problems for most NLE programs. One possibility would be to use the capture software that came with the camera, of other, and then using the files in PrE. Depending on what the potential capture formats/CODEC's are available, conversion might be required.
    Good luck,

  • Does SignalExpress support USB-9211/15 & USB-6015/16 ?

    Does SignalExpress support USB-9211/15 & USB-6015/16 ?

    Hi gsa,
Here is a list of hardware which is supported:
    - NI M Series and E Series DAQ (DAQmx only)
    - NI High-Speed Digitizers
    - NI Signal Generators
    - NI Dynamic Signal Acquisition (DSA)
    - NI Analog Output
    - Third-party devices (*Requires downloading or creating a LabVIEW based user-defined step)
You see, that you must program a LV based user-defined step in SignalExpress if you want to use the USB boards.

is there a driver that can make this work?. I configured

  • Does LabVIEW support USB 2 interface?

I need to transfer data from the USB port 2 but I'm thinking of using LabVIEW for interfacing. Does LabVIEW support USB2?

Yes, you can talk to USB devices using the LabVIEW 7e VISA VIs (see the attached image of the VISA USB Function Palette).

  • Does MSI P55-GD65 support eSata hot-plug?

I believe the title is self-explanatory, but I'll explain anyway..
I have a MSI P55-GD65 motherboard which has an onboard eSata port. I have a second eSata port in the front plate of my case.. The thing is, that the only way for it to recognize my eSata external hard drive, is if the drive is connected and powered BEFORE I boot my PC. Not very convenient when it comes to portable devices. Is there anything I have to change in the BIOS or any drivers I should install (for Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit) so that I can power on and off my drive while my PC is working?

Actually, I did some more digging after my post, I figured out how to do it (I tweaked the registry because I had installed Windows 7 with sata mode set to IDE), and now it works fine..
There's only one issue. My external drive does not appear in the devices I can "safely remove". So I don't know how risky it is to just turn of my HDD while the PC is powered on..

I can't even get mine to wake up from S4 hibernate using a PS/2 keyboard, let alone USB or remote.      Mine wakes up from S3 standby, though.  I'm hoping it's fixable with a bios update.
I'm using Windows XP x64 so maybe it's related to the fact that I dont' have a 64-bit driver for the SM Bus controller.  Who knows?

  • Support USB Hub

I am certain this question has been posted and answered many times but I couldn't find it and just needed a quick answer. Does the Express support a powered USB hub?
I was told by a Mac Genius that it does not and I was surprised. I brought in my Express because the USB port is malfunctioning (I bought it used so not sure if it was working before I plugged the hub in). He also said something about a hub would "disable" my Express. I'm not sure if he meant it would fry it or just not properly work.
I need a hub to connect to my Express since I have two printers. I know the Express does not support a hard drive.

Does the Express support a powered USB hub?
Sorry, but unlike the 802.11n AirPort Extreme or Time Capsule, the 802.11g or n versions of the AirPort Express' USB port does not support USB hubs with multiple USB devices.

  • HT204655 Photos for Mac does not support semi professional camera Nikon D7000!

Since Nikon does not support USB storage mode, the (semi)professional line of Nikon cannot be used to import pictures!!
This is a serious flaw in the program. Aperture supports Nikon D7000, Image Capture supports the camera but the latest and greatest has forgotten all about supporting market leader's camera's?
The main and only reason NOT to use Photos... Or did I miss something here?

Sorry guys, forget all about it. I switch my camera off and on again (while it was connectoed to the Mac) and it appeared in Photos.
No idea what happened, but I can import my pictures.

    Hi,
I purchased Huawei Dongle and trying to connect with my new MacBook Pro (OS- Mountain Lion) USB port 3.0 but unfortunately it does not support.
When I plugged in my macbook the power is flowing in dongle due green light blinking twice in every 3 sec but no connection found or diver shown.
Please let me know how I have to use it. I got some suggestion for USB hub 2.0 but It does not make any sense and driver installation.
So please suggest proper direction to use it and provide link to install any driver.
    Thanks

Yes Clinton I did same, but they were (Huawei customer support) surprised about this problem, They behave like they have no idea about USB 2.0 and  3.0 knowledge. They handsUp that reason I posted my problem in this forum.
So is there any better solution to use any mediator between these USB version handling, Please let me know.

  • Does anyone know yet if the new iPad will support a USB microphone plugged into Garageband via iPad's USB Camera Adapter?

    Hi,
I've ordered a new iPad 64Gb which will arrive early April. My hobby is making music, so does anyone know yet if the new iPad (3rd generation) will support a USB microphone plugged into Garageband via iPad's USB Camera Adapter? I am hoping to use such a portable setup to record live performances of voice & acoustic instrument.
    Thank you,
    John.

When in doubt, try it out. I bought the Apple camera connection kit & used it to connect my Blue Snowball usb mic to my new iPad 3rd generation. It works just fine. I made some test recordings in GarageBand on my iPad 3 using my Snowball mic. They sound great.

  • Memory hot plug supported in Oracle linux 6.0 ?

    hi,
I am testing Oracle Linux 6.0 on a vm, I tried to hot add memory, but i noticed that the respective modules like acpiphp and acpi_memhotplug not present.
Also i got the below information from the site, http://blogs.oracle.com/wim/2010/10/playing_with_sr_iov_in_oracle.html
"----------To enable pci hotplug in the guest, please do the following :
in the guest you have to load both pciehp and acpiphp
you can do this easily by doing :
    **echo "modprobe pciehp" >> /etc/rc.modules
    echo "modprobe acpiphp" >> /etc/rc.modules
    chmod 755 /etc/rc.modules**
note - this is for testing purposes only. We do not currently have official support in the product for this.--------".
I tried doing the above mentioned procedure, then also the mem-hot plug is not working.
So I feel mem-hot plug is not supported.
Can any oone confirm me about this.

  • Why iMac goes into coma booted in Ext HD Tiger hot plugging USB cable?

    Folks:
Had this question posted as "iMac goes into deep coma w/hot plugging USB cable??" on the "using your iMac G4" forum, got 63 views but have not received any replies there. Since I was booted up in Tiger 4.11 on my FW Ext HD, thought I'd try to post over here to see if I get some sage advice from this forum.
Was trying to experiment with ways to get my scanner to work if I finally decide to upgrade my iMac to 10.4.11 by booting up Tiger using External HD by firewire and then plugging in the scanner after that. As soon as the USB plug touched the port the computer "went black"--total crash. Took about 5 mins before I was able to resuscitate the machine with the power button. I repeated my experiment in the same manner and down she went again, down and out . . . . Tried to start it for a few minutes, nothing, went to dinner, came back, nothing. Finally, unplugged it for a minute and then she came back to the land of the living . . . .
When I restarted from the 10.1.5 internal HD I plugged the scanner in and opened the scanner app in Classic and all was fine. I like being able to use Classic apps and if it wasn't for the fact that my Camino browser is starting to crash when browsing the newer websites I'd have no reason to upgrade. Even if I get a new Intel computer I won't be able to boot back into the Power PC operating systems, right?
Anyway, would like to know if it is "well known" that you can't hot plug peripherals when booted up in external HD or if this is a "special problem" that only I am experiencing?
    Thanks,
    e.e.p.

Since the issue could be in the peripherals or the computer involved, this could
be a hardware failure of some kind. If you have replaced the USB cable, and all
other variables have been double or triple-checked, even a problem with the
computer's power supply could be at fault. Or there may be a partial short in one
of the electrical circuits involved with this USB cable and whatever it supports.
Please re-explain these other operating systems and their locations, since the
10.1.5 and other stuff seems irrelevant. Unless there is a hardware failure.
    And that is a possibility.
If you got an old early model Intel mac with 10.4.11 running in it, that would not
support Classic OS9 based apps directly. However, there are several sources
for replacement parts and also complete repaired and guaranteed PPC Macs.
There are limits in some, in what OS X versions and practical uses they may
allow now, with less online support & dwindling apps to run on the older OS X.
You may be able to look into the system logs and crash reports, via Console
Utility, to see what kinds of errors reports & crash logs the computer created.
Also, in System Profiler, there should be a Software> Logs section and it may
have some recent activity logs there. You can compare log creation times with
the intervals of these failures and see if a report matches your experience in
a real-time error log or other.
Is this USB port where the failure occurs, located in the external drive enclosure
or in the computer attached to it? What kinds of external FireWire devices and
USB devices are involved? Have you ran just the bare-bones computer & seen if
there are problems in just that, by itself? Troubleshooting invites checking it alone.
If there is an overload of some kind regarding a power supply failure under
only some circumstances, you could try a powered USB hub when using
several items attached to the computer; so it would carry that load.
Anyway, it sounds like a magical mystery tour is in store, in there.
    Good luck & happy computing!

Hello i am using TimeMachine to back-up entire Mac image (data + system) on an usb-local drive. I would like (on top of it) add a specific plan to back up some files on a remote network drive. Does TimeMachine support multiple back-up plans ? How ?

Time Machine is capable of backing up to multiple locations, and can be used to back up to both a local hard drive and a networked drive (provided that that drive is in or connected to a Time Capsule or another Mac that is sharing it over the network). The catch, though, is that you can't specify different things to back up to different destinations. Whatever you exclude from Time Machine backups is excluded from ALL backups, and whatever is included is included on all.
So, get a large enough drive that you can back up everything you want in all locations, or use something else for maintaining the network backup.
