Does Universal Connector read only the changes or the whole of the database everytime

Does the Universal Connector read only the changes in the external database into the Connector View every scheduled cycle or does it read the whole of the database into the connector view every time ?
I need to write a indirect connector for Lotus Notes database using the universal connector and univeral text parse.So I want to know if the Import and Dump scripts that I will have to write will have to read just the changes that took place or the whole of the Notes DB everytime ?

SQL Server 2005 Database Mail - Mail configuration information could not be read from the database.

I'm trying to setup Database Mail and send a test message, but it's not working.
I've done several step-by-steps and all and I can't get it to work. Also checked several posts in this forum but none helped. I think it used to work before (2 months ago) but we had to turn it off.
I've enabled it in Surface Configuration, have tried recreating all profiles, restarted SQL Agent, checked version mismatch...
I check the Database Mail and I get the following message:

IPOD CLASSIC ON READ ONLY , CANT CHANGE IT

i have an ipod classic which at some point it was changed to " READ ONLY ". now my classic wont open and windows says i need to format it though after trying many time only to have windows tell me that its unable to format. when i try to open ipod classic , whatever page im on

"tunes or any other window it freezes my ipod and will not un-freeze until i reboot my computer so at the moment all i have is a 160GB IPOD CLASSIC THAT DOES NOTHING. HOW CAN THIS B TAKEN OFF SO THAT I CAN ONCE AGAIN HAVE MY IPOD BACK.

It looks like MANY people have various problems with iPod Classic 160GB models on Windows 8.1, while they work just fine on other computers. I suspect crappy Apple drivers that don't work correctly on Windows 8.1. I have a Classic 160GB iPod and you would think that it is corrupted/damaged/about to die on the Windows 8.1 computer, but works just fine on everything else.

Business Connector - Read only - Administrator role

Hi Community,
We've currently got SAP 4.8 running in our environment.
The situation is that often developers need to check the extended settings, logs, or what jobs are scheduled.
The two main roles are Developer or administrator.
The only way to get access to the web GUI admin page is to assign the administrator role.
Does anyone know how to assign a "read-only" role for the web admin page?
I would then assign this to a developer rather than give them full administrator access on business connector.

Cannot put in read-only the vendor screen - Authorization

Hi all,
I would like a role to display in read-only mode the vendor (business partner) screen (BBPMAININT).
I assigned the BBP_PD_VL and BBP_VEND authorization objects with the 'display' attributes but the user still has 'edit' rights on the vendor profile.
What am I missing?

I am afraid, it's not possible to make read-only mode using SAP Roles (using PFCG transation and authorization values). BBPMAININT transaction is a Web transaction and is Intended for Edit/Change/Display in same transaction.. and hence cannot be controlled via Authorizations/ Roles.

Does adobe cloud synchronize only the modifications of a pdf file?

I have a large PDF file in adobe cloud on my iPad. Whenever I annotate it, will the entire file be reuploaded (consuming lots of bandwidth) or only the annotations are (consuming very minimal bandwidth). Please let me know!

I was able to sync the annotations I made on an iPad to the PC just a few minutes ago. Though the annotations were not visible when I viewed the file on the browser in acrobat.com, when downloaded, it had the annotations, indicating that syncing does occur. Could you please check again!

Why Does iTunes Continuously Read From the Hard-drive?

Hi. I have recently discovered an odd behaviour from iTunes: instead of reading an entire song from the harddrive and storing it in ram during playback, iTunes reads small chunks of data very frequently. For example, when playing a 128Kbps song the HD reads 68KB chunks approximately every 3 seconds, and when playing lossless WAVE files the HD is constantly reading at 200KB/s. I found this out by having iTunes open and playing music while having all other programs closed, and monitoring the disk activity from Activity Monitor (and I'm sure that it's iTunes that was reading from the HD because when the music was paused the HD was idle).
So, my question is why would iTunes do this? This seems like an extremely inefficient use of the harddrive for several reasons:
- Constantly reading small chunks from the HD uses much more power than reading large chunks infrequently because idle hard-drives use much less power than active hard-drives
- This will slow down other applications that need to make heavy use of the HD because iTunes will be constantly interrupting anything else that is using the disk (this is especially true for Photoshop or any other program that uses lots of swapfile space)
- It puts unnecessary wear on the HD heads
- It is dangerous for laptops, which can easily get thrown around or bumped. Momentarily reading a large chunk of data and leaving the HD idle for the majority of the time will be much safer for the HD heads
- Hard-drive-based portable music players read large chunks of data infrequently because it is well-known that this saves power and protects the HD in these devices.
So... is there any reason that iTunes is exempt from these reasons??

I too have wondered about this. You'd think with 1.5GB RAM that itunes would take 3MB of it and leave my drive alone for a few minutes. I don't really feel comfortable doing drive intensive activities such as file copying while itunes is running.

ONLY ONE FIELD DOES NOT GET PREPOPULATED FROM THE DATABASE

I would really, really appreciate if someone can comment or suggest something that would help with the resolution to the issue I am currently experiencing.

How to test the form:
Open the form.
Click on the yellow button to add new Task.
The problem is with Additional Product fields ( in blue). You can add as many of them as you want by clicking on the Red button with the +. Add some data and uploade in database. When you download it from the database, data will come back fine for all of them, except for the first one.
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

The code is behind the Red button with the +. Very simple. Perhaps is the indexing issue with the database. I do not know enough about it, to be able to send any suggestion to the DB guy.
According to the DB guy, data uploades without issue. It is the blank field when the form with data is downoloaded.

Wizard in a dialog window does not show errormessages from the database

I have a main window and some wizards defined with JHeadstart. The wizards are started as dialogs to get them in a separate windows from the main window. This gives me a cancel and a save button for the dialog in addition to the ones for the wizard.
I have managed to take away the cancel and save button from the dialog using custom .vm files. The problem is that then pressing the FINISH button for the wizard it closes the dialog window without showing errormessages from the database (ie constraint messages) and these only appear in the log. If I use the save button from the dialog it gives the errormessages, but does not exit the dialog even if there are no errormessages.
Is this a bug or is there another way I should have done this ?

Your finish button should call a custom managed bean method that executes the commit, checks whether there are errors, and only close the dialog of there are no errors.
To close the dialog in code, you can use this:
AdfFacesContext adf = AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
adf.returnFromDialog(null, null);
which is similar to using the <af:returnActionListener/> that you probably now used but should be removed from your finish button.

Handling in java special characters read from the database

Hello,
I have a java application which processes data from the database. During processing I have to handle some special national characters which are specified with integer codes. The codes are defined in UTF-8 and the list of these characters and their codes is constant.
How to handle them in java where char primitive type denotes characters in UTL-16, not UTF-8. Should I use class Charset and decoder like below?
Charset charset = Charset.forName("UTF-8");
CharsetDecoder decoder = charset.newDecoder();
The problem which I see here is that class CharsetDecoder provides no method which would take integer code of the character in UTF-8 and return char value (in UTF-16).
The only way I see is to provide ByteBuffer, but then I have to encode the codes of these characters in UTF-8 somehow (how?), as they have two bytes codes like 50048.

Please verify the followings:
Make sure that from the SharePoint front end and application servers that you can ping your SQL server.
Make sure that your Farm account has permission to the configuration database.
Lastly verify that your database didn't for some reasons go into recovery mode.
once everything is fine and you are still having issues, restart the SQL host service on the SQL server.
Once the service is restarted you will need to reboot Central Admin and then your front end servers.
In addition, as you built your farm inside the firewall, please disable the firwall, or create rules for SQL Server service in the firwall on SQL server.

Its not App Server. It is developer-related, but then so is SQL and PL/SQL and oracle text.

In the latest Firefox where "browser.download.panel.removeFinishedDownloads" no longer exists, how does one automatically clear only the download history

In light of the latest Firefox and the fact that it does not listen to my download retention setting and that "browser.download.panel.removeFinishedDownloads" no longer exists, how do I clear the download history automatically after each download without clearing browser history too? If this is not an option then it is either a serious bug or an important feature removed. If this continues, this is a big reason for me to discontinue using firefox. Really guys! Why?!

Oh, wait, the downloads I keep seeing are not located in any particular folder but scattered across my computer in different folders I manually save them to. Would this make any difference? In any event, I can still see the download history, and I so much prefer the old way.
