Does updating multiple apps on my MBP use a lot of battery power?

Tonight my MBP battery % dropped AFTER I updated seven iTunes apps, most being bug fixes. It went from 85% to 73% after the updates were completed. Earlier I was using my Beats Pill with NO drop. I had already put the Beats Pill off by the time I did the updates.

Do you mean Mac app store apps? Running Mavericks on a 2011 Macbook Pro should handle it fine, but it can depends on the type and size of the seven apps. It also depends on you wi-fi connection and your screen/keyboard brightness. Wi-fi updates can use a lot of battery because it's time consuming, especially if they're large files.

And yes just like any feature in iPhone if you use it for any long length of time it does require battery power to provide those services. Posted below are some Battery saving tips
1. Settings-WiFi- turn Ask to Join Networks off. This way the iPhone is not always searching for a network. This can save possible battery life.
2. Settings-General-Bluetooth turn this off if your not using it. By default it is off
3. Settings-General-Mail - Change Auto Check to Manual. This will reduce the times iPhone goes out automatically checking for email and using bandwidth/extra battery life. That way when you tap on Mail your manually requesting to go out and have it fetch your email when you want it.

All apps - all paid and free apps include DRM protection which is tied to the iTunes account that was used to download the apps. You can't transfer iTunes content downloaded with one iTunes account to another iTunes account or merge accounts.
You must use the iTunes account and password that was used to download the apps in order to download app updates for those apps.

You don't need an app to do this. Here's how you get the battery info. Go to Settings>More>Battery. This will show you all the active apps and their individual battery usage.

Seems Firefox is suddenly using a lot of CPU power

My desktop, recently, started sounding like it was really laboring while I wander around the net. And there's a delay as I type messages like this... the letters show up a second or two behind the keystrokes.
I looked at CPU usage (Win XP with all updates) and while I'm doing this, it sometimes peaks to 35% or higher for Firefox.exe.
My laptop has recently started telling me Firefox is using a lot of memory and I should close and restart Firefox. (Also updated Win XP)
It's becoming a big PITA...

It didn't show up when i searched for the problem on Google and it didn't show up when i search here on Firefox's support site either.
And the reason it didn't because it's mostly not about my problem.

Firefox 9 after a while starts using a lot of CPU power, need help!

After a while (2 hours or more) firefox 9 (not the plugin container) starts eating up more and more CPU power, usually just to 25% (because usually i close it and restart it after that), but today i had work to do and i couldn't restart it right then and that resulted in firefix using about 50-60% of a 4 core 3.2GHz CPU (AMD Phenom II X4 955).
I'm not doing anything extraordinary just writing emails and just plain normal browsing)
I only notice this because my CPU fan speeds up and makes a lot more noise if using more then 20% CPU power.
I'm pretty sure regular users wouldn't notice anything until it started to slow down their whole PC
I'm using Firefox 9.0.1 running on Win 7 64bit, i have about 20-30 tabs always open (loading) and i haven't tried disabling any add-ons.
I've read on forums that this might have something to do with flash data piling up, or with having to many tabs open.

i have two tables test1 and test2. i want to udpate the column(DEPT_DSCR) of both the tables TEST1 and TEST2 using select for update and current of...using cursor.
I have a code written as follows :

The above code when run says that it runs successfully. But it does not updates the desired columns[DEPT_DSCR].
It only works when we want to update single or multiple columns of same table...i.e. by providing these columns after "FOR UPDATE OF"
I am not sure what is the exact problem when we want to update multiple columns of different tables.
Can anyone help me on this ?

Is it necessary or even advisable to install updates to apps you don't use?

I normally don't install updates to apps that I don't use (such as Garage Band) or have installed (like Remote Client) and intuitively it does not seem necessary but I am wondering if there is any time it is advisable to do so?

Unless you're on dialup and can't spare the bandwidth, I can't think of any reason why you'd NOT want to. It hurts nothing. And what if you decide at some point to dabble in one of those apps? Or let somebody else use your system for those apps? And, best of all, you can make those notices for those updates go away forever! (yes, I know you can hide ones you don't want to ever update, I'm just sayin')

I have no idea how to update my apps on my iPod using the new iTunes

My iPod Touch says that I have 27 updates which I know is right but when I click to go on the Apps Store and update them it just takes me to a white screen...
So I tried using the newly updated iTunes which I'm not use to yet but I don't have a clue where to find a "Check for updates" link for my apps. I'm finding it diffiuclt to even simple things...

You can only update via the ipod with ios 5 or later.
You need to update via itunes on your computer as always.

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself independently backed up against loss. To use a device with a different setup you transfer the old library from a computer or a backup directly to the new setup, not the device to the library. Media syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.

Updating multiple records without having to use a cursor

I am trying to update multiple records in a table.
Eg
Table A -20 records
Table B -10 records.
Would like to update Table B with the updated records in Table A for those records which the primary key matches
and I dont want to use cursors. Is this possible??

I Cant update any Apps on iPhone 4 using iOS 7.03

Ever since updating to ios 7.0.3 on my iPhone 4. Now, I cant update any apps on my iPhone. I click update and waitng circle starts to animate. But then it stops, i've tried using both wifi and cellular doesnt seems to make different.
Could you please fix this problem. It happen as well on my wife's phone. She is using iPhone 4s.

Fixxed it. Just press and hold home button and power button at the same time until apple's logo come up.
