Does updating to Mavericks install iTunes 11?

Hey, us guys still on iTunes 10.7? Does updating to Mavericks install iTunes 11 or do I have to stay on Mountain Lion. Thanks for your responses!

Did you delete 11 by using the App Zap or the terminal? If you did use terminal when you entered in these commands:
killall iTunes
killall "iTunes Helper"
sudo rm -rf /Applications/iTunes.app/
Do you enter all 3 together and then shoot or do you have to enter each one at a time and enter each command individually?

Does updating to Maverick OS take a long time?

When I frist installed it (not counting download time which was about 30 minutes) I believe that the actual installation time was about 50 minutes. First reading was "About 35 minutes..." I think, but, in total, it took about 50 minutes.
Your actual time may vary, depending on your machien configuration.

  • IPhone stuck on connect to iTunes screen do not use iTunes or have it installed on my PCs; does anyone know of an easy fix other than updating windows then installing iTunes?  I don't have time to go through the process again and at this point will d

Hi all- I'm new to this online community of Apple support; my iPhone 5s is stuck on a screen that has the connect to iTunes icon, this started after I upgraded to IOS 8.1.1 from the beta to fixed version; I don't use iTunes and have an IPad, home PC, office PC, and Galaxy Tab, and I went through (failed) the process of installing itunes on my office PC but needed to update windows; after going through all redommendations I could find, including Apple phone support, I still haven't had success.  Does anyone know a way to get my phone past that screen?  I don't have time to keep doing updates and installation attempts;'I don't care about the content at this point; but I can't get to the settings to "reset all" and start from scratch; I bought i loud for storage and have an old 4s that has a broken screen butt still works and I have another active 4s on my plaN.  Im not tech savvy myself; but I know some community members are pure geniuses! !I just need a fast way to fix this bug;'I use it for work and it's been inaccessible all week, the only time I have to go to an Apple Store is this weekend; I don't want to move to the iphone6 because it's too big.  I didn't know this community existed; it's cool; for this issue, I just have no time for a new phone or phone support again; I'm posting this question as a last resort; any feedback is appreciated......and I apolo in advance if this post goes under the wrong thread

No. You have no alternative but to plug it into a computer running iTunes and restore it.

  • Unable to update, or re-install, iTunes on windows 7...

my family uses our desktop computer for syncing their iPod Touches with iTunes. Recently, they began having an issue with having iTunes open up without running it as an Administrator. It became more and more difficult to get it to open. I finally decided to uninstall iTunes and then re-install it. Uninstalling it was like trying to surgically remove cancer or something. It was everywhere. Online forums advised me to use a free windows program called revo uninstaller. I did, and boy does it remove everything. Keep that one in your back pocket. It cleans registry entries and everything else. So I tried to re-install iTunes and I keep getting this security error: 5. I can't get it to re-install for anything. My kids are searching the internet for this fix and that process, and nothing is working. HELP!
I tried installing the current iTunes, and even tried to regress back to 10.6.3 as directed on several help websites.

  • IPhone App Update - big Problems installing ITunes again

    Hello!
Yesterday I tried to Update to 4.02. ITunes loaded the big Update file with my small bandwidth within 1 hour. After that ITunes told me that the firmware-file was damaged. So I tried it again 3 times. The same.
I uninstalled ITunes, Quicktime, etc. Like a solution on the apple support website displayed. Then I loaded ITunes (64) again (I have Vista x64). The installer displayed that there is an error installing (without any idea what was wrong.
Then I decided to install my PC completly new. After that I installes ITunes again and got the same message. So I installed ITunes 9.0 what worked proper. I thought I could update via ITunes so that I finally have 9.2 installed.
The Updatefile was loaded, but after downloading the Updater sayed: wrong signature of downloaded file. ITunes will not be installed.
Has any of you an idea what this could be? The reason why I wanted to update is that my Iphone doesn't update any apps. It displays that I should connect via ITunes to get the updates.
Sorry for my bad english. I'm from Germany.

it seems that problem is with your computer,
and 'wrong signature of downloaded file' indicates problems
like virus infection, Bad Ram or Hard Disk, or bad internet connection.
so it's better to use another computer and other internet connection.

  • After updating to Maverick, my itunes is out of whack.

I updated my MacBook Pro to Maverick.
Now some albums in iTunes are messed up. Several songs are showing as stand alone instead of being in their albums. I can't figure out how to put them back into their album....any ideas? Dragging them doesn't work.
Thanks for any ideas to fix this.

You'll need an updated drive forr that screen if and when one becomes available it will be on the manufacturers website.
The only way to go back to a previous version of OS X once you have upgraded it to wipe the complete drive and reinstall or restore from a Time Machine backup made just before you upgraded. Apple does not include any system for going back to an older version of OS X once you have upgraded to a newer version.

  • HT1689 ran out of space while trying to ask question! ipad synced, new ios update 10 hour installed, itunes apparently stopped working, ipad mini requires connecting to itunes. ipad detectecte recovery mode, RESTORE.  Restore what? Whole bloody thing?

I just synced the iPad Mini. then installed ios7.04. After 10 hour installation found that iTunes was frozen, and ipad required to be connected to itunes!restarted computer, reconnected ipad Mini.  Now "ipad detected in recovery mode, restore" Click on "OK" and the only usable default left is reset factory settings.  Does that mean i have to go through the whole rigmarole again?

Unfortunately yes it does. You might want to temporarily disable your firewall and antivirus software and that may speed up the process. However, you have to restore the iPad again, if it is in recovery mode.

  • App Store auto-update in Mavericks (re. iTunes 11.1.3)

iTunes Version 11.1.3 has been launched today. I have upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mavericks and I understand that now software updates can only be accessed via the App Store. I checked for updates in the App Store and the result is "No Updates Available". Do I have to update iTunes manually or will it be updated via the App Store by and by?
    From MacUpdate
    https://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/5661/apple-itunes
    What's New
                         Version 11.1.3:
This version of iTunes resolves an issue where the equalizer may not work as expected and improves performance when switching views in large iTunes libraries.
This update also includes additional minor bug fixes.
Adds support for Arabic and Hebrew.
    Improves performance and stability.
    Thanks

oops... sorry to reply to my own thread, but I think I may have found some answers in this thread which came up in 'More Like This' on my right - thanks folks
Why no iTunes in the Mac App Store?

  • Why can't I open, update, uninstall or install itunes?

I can't open my itunes, I have gone through the support on Apple website, but when I try to uninstall itunes (as it says to do) it gives me an error message. I can't figure it out.
An error occured while trying to create the directory c:\Program Files\iTunes.Resousces\fi.lproj\CDPlaylistPlacard.nib
    Then it tells me
The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2330.

That error is consistent with a damaged file: c:\Program Files\iTunes.Resousces\fi.lproj\CDPlaylistPlacard.nib
    First run a disk check:
    http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=315265
If that fixes errors, try installing again.
If not or the problem remains, try renaming CDPlaylistPlacard.nib
    As something else.
If Windows will not allow you to do it, then rename then containing folder. This will prevent the iTunes installer seeing the damaged file.

  • Update not properly installed, itunes asking to reinstall...how do I save music?

I tried to install the latest version of itunes and I got an error message, that it wasn't properly installed. Now, when I open itunes, I get a message that I will be unable to rip or burn any Cd's and I can't sync my ipad, because my itunes has an old version of the software. I want to uninstall and reinstall itunes, but how do I get past loading all my CD's again? Can I save the music without backing it up to an external hardrive?

Could you post your diagnostics for us please?
In iTunes, go "Help > Run Diagnostics". Uncheck the boxes other than DVD/CD tests, as per the following screenshot:
    ... and click "Next".
When you get through to the final screen:
... click the "Copy to Clipboard" button and paste the diagnostics into a reply here. (Use your Ctrl-V keyboard shortcut to paste.)

  • Does updating new version of itunes mess up music in my existing version?

I keep getting the option to download the new i tunes. Will this affect my existing library, etc?

Upgrading will normally not affect the tracks and settings already in your iTunes.
That said, it's wise to make a backup of any tracks that you've purchased from the iTunes Music Store or that would otherwise be difficult to replace and of your playlists before you upgrade, just in case something would happen to go wrong.

  • Unable to install itunes 8 - get different message

I go through the whole download process and have tried to download automatically and manually, through tools and Apple file download icon from the Apple folder but I still get these messages:
