Does using the home button in 4s would result to being damage in the long run? I really don't like the assistive.

I do prefer using the home button. Will it somehow be 'damaged' in the long run? I just need assurance. *TIA.

Any mechanical component is subject to failure.  If it does fail, if your device is in hardware warranty, it would likely be replaced.  If you are still within the first year, purchase AppleCare to extend the warranty for an additional year.

My lock button isn't working. I am using the assistive touch thing right now. Can I get my phone fixed or replaced?

Rice is hit or miss but if you can (assuming you live in a home with a furnace) sit it up with the speakers facing down on an air flow register for about 10 minutes.  The heat from the furnace will not harm the sensitive components and will dry the phone out nicely including the display layers.  DO NOT USE a hair blower!  The iPhone is capable of drying out much more easily than phones with removable backs as the iPhone while sumbermeged in liquid (for a short time) will take on limited moisture hence can be dried and keep on keeping on.  My dauhter dropped her iPhone 5 in a toilet and it was fine after spending 24 hours in rice and 10 minutes on the air register while the furnace was producing heat.
One last thing.  DO NOT POWER ON the phone until the drying out efforts have been completed and certainly DO NOT plug it in.

There are no user serviceable items in an iPhone. Apple does not

Hi. Does using the cover lock help battery life?

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • Using the Assistive touch option

My last discussion was related to the Home button malfunctioning in a recently bought iPhone 5. The store exchanged it for a new one and now I would like to use the assistive touch option to keep from having to press any of the buttons: volume, home, lock. It works fine except when the assistive touch is On it mutes any sound and only vibrates. Unmuting it doesn't work either.  A pop up screen keeps asking to enter a voicemail password code. In Setting, the password selection is Off so there is no code to enter. I have searched the iPhone 5 Users Guide to learn why this happens but there is  no specific information.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • HT4623 one day before,i update my iphone5 system,but i really don't like the operation,i want change back to ios6.1.4,what can i do?

one day before,i update my iphone5 system, but i really don't like the operation,i want change back to ios6.1.4,what can i do?

OK, I downloaded the utility, but during the installation process I was advised to shut down Outlook, or restart it after installation. I immediately cancelled the installation. Obviously, this thing is going to muck about with Outlook. I don't want anything to be touching or looking at any of my installed program unless I tell it too AFTER I fully understand what it is doing and how to reverse the whole process in case it gets mucked up.
I looked for a manual or some sort of documentation on the configuration utility, but there does not seem to be any.
Anyone have a link to program documentation for
iPhone Configuration Utility 3.6.2  for Windows?
I find it incredilble that there does not seem to be a stand alone, plug the usb cable in, and make a back up (system image) of an iPhone. After all, the thing seems to be hand held computer. Why not have a simple back up utility? Even the newer phones only have, what, a few GB. Lots of images would fit on an outboard TB disk.
Then if every thing gets FUBAR, simply restore the phone the the last working image.
Does no one keep controled squential backups of iPhones and iPads like you should do with any other computer, workstation or laptop that is a serious business tool?
iTunes for back-up. Does and business seriously do that?
iCloud? I'd be fired if the boss caught me putting client contact information on 'the cloud' or anything outside my secured hard drives. (Unless we have a specific paid contract for services).
My company does not even allow wifi in the office. Security begins with a hard wired connection.
    sigh....

  • I just updated to ios 7.0. I really don't like it! How can I go back to the old iphone software?

Hello! So I updated my iphone 4s software a few days ago to the ios 7.0. I really don't like it! The calendar is the worst part of it! I used to love the calendar, notes and clock/timer app on my iphone! Now I hate the new layouts and how they work! Is there any way to go back to the older software on my iphone?

I was in the same situation. Today I went to my wireless carrier's store and upgraded my hardware to iPhone5. It comes with iOS 6.1.4.
I had backed up my 4S before foolishly installing iOS7, so I was able to recover all the apps, most settings, etc., as usual, in iTunes.
    Hope this helps.

  • When I sync my photos to iPhoto from my iPhone 4S it like saves about 200 on my phone. I really don't like that because they're like really old and stay the same... Can you take that setting off? Or just make it you most recent pictures instead?

it had to do with Maverick/Aperture not supporting the same date formats as before in Smart Albums when I upgraded.
Smart albums based on dates have always been problematic, if you use smart settings that require a date string to be entered. How the date string will be interpreted, will depend on your settings in the System Preferences > Language&Text > Advanced > Dates formats and the "Region".
It is much safer to use "Calendar" rules in Aperture instead of "Date" rules with date-strings. Calendar rules will remain valid, if the region settings are changed in the System preferences.

  • I can't play my music any more when my phone is off? I use to just double click the home button and it would play music. Now it doesn't. Why?

I can't play music on my iPhone 4 anymore when my phone is off. I use to double click the home button and I could play music with out having to enter my pass code every time. Now it doesn't work that way any more. Can any one tell me how to fix it?

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data by resetting your device, but it can cure some glitches.

  • How does "use the hot fix installer to apply this update (ColdFusion 10 Update)" work?

I am building a ColdFusion 10 server on Windows Server 2008-R2 from scratch using the Lockdown Guide. I am stuck on the Updates. The mandatory "manual" update is installed, but I don't see how to jump to Update 10. In the administrator, when I check for updates it shows Update 10, but there is no download button. There is a download button for Update 7, but nothing happens. Is there not manual download and installation option? What am I doing wrong here? This should be the easy part. Thanks.

It sounds like the updates page is not loading properly.  Have you tried refreshing that page in CF Administrator?  Also, you might try restarting the ColdFusion service.  You might have a proxy/firewall issue as well.  Here is the direct download link for the update: http://download.adobe.com/pub/adobe/coldfusion/hotfix_010.jar.

  • Does using the reset setting function delete the email accounts

I want to use the reset settings function but I am worried that it will delete my email accounts.

If you are talking about a Reset where you hold the home and sleep buttons till you see the Apple logo, no that will not delete your email accounts. If you are referring to a RESTORE of your iPhone as a new phone, yep that will clear the email accounts.
