Does using the skype app (from my iphone to a computer)over 3G cost me money, or is it free like Wifi?

I was at a family dinner last night and included my college daughter at the table via Skype on my iphone. She was on her laptop. After about 30 minutes, I remembered that my mother-in-law does not do technology, and has no internet, so I was on 3G, and not Wifi. I have AT&T. Does anyone know offhand what fees (if any) are involved? I don't have unlimited data, although I never come near the alloted amount of data usage I am allowed per month. Skype has always been free when I've used it over Wifi. Am I just paying for data usage, or am I going to get charged for making some kind of call? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you don't have unlimited data, then you could incur overage charges for Data use. How much will depend on what data plan you have. Check your AT&T account at att.com for details or contact customer service.

Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first.

I think I found the reason. On my iMac that is hosting the music library a song already was playing. This seems to block out me from selecting another song though my Apple TV.

Hello - This isn't a response since I have the EXACT problem. I paid "MyTechHelp" $100 because they said they could fix it and they couldn't. I've narrowed my understanding to this:
1. The phone does not need to be jailbroken
2. Plug the phone into iTunes and back up the phone then restore and it will be Unlocked. I got a message from iTunes saying congratulations "your phone is unlocked"
3. Don't pay to unlock or jailbreak ..I wasted $200 already doing that
4. The APN needs to be reset to your carrier ... If I figure out how I'll respond soon
5. I tried unlockit.co.nz and that doesn't work

I am wondering about the pay subscription. It asked me what my region was. My question is: Would I be able to call from my Kindle Fire to my mom's landline phone with this subscription? Yes you can install your current sim into the mini iPad. You have to cut the current sim to the nano sim. There are cutter available on eBay and amazon. You go to your local best-buy. They have it for sale. Just be carefully to align properly or else you will end damaging your current sim. Any little damage to the current sim will render it unusable.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

Using the Skype app

When using Skype I am experiencing very bad sound feedback when I talk. There are no settings etc within the Skype app and having checked the iPad settings there does not seem to be any setting that can be altered regarding this issue. Can you advise what I can do to eliminate this feedback as it spoils the Skype video call I have with my daughter.

Thanks but the feedback only occurs on the iPad. If I use my Sony Viao this issue does not happen. Is there settings that I need to alter on the iPad.

I have a iPhone 3G. I want to eventually get a new one (when the next gen ones are available). I want to keep the old one so one of my kids can use it as a "touch". Can I sync the same apps to each phone? I know you can share the same app on an iPhone and iPad, but not sure if this can be done with 2 phones.

You can sync as many devices as you want to the same itunes account, there is no limit. You can have the same content on each device or different content, the choice is yours. Itunes will keep everything straight, by device, on subsequent syncs.

Yes, the Mac can read NTFS drives, but not write to them.
If you have the drive formatted FAT or exFAt then the Mac can read and write to it. But before formatting, remove the data as it's erased, and format it on the PC as it's easier. Right click on Windows and Format.

Moving your personal data via the external drive is likley the best option, there are other methods like Migration, but they are problematic and take a long time, a drive is simple, fast and direct.
