  • Does Firefox 6.0 support Norton Identity Safe?

I am running FF 5.0 and have been asked to update to 6.0. Does FF 6.0 support Norton Identity Safe?
If it does not, I will not update.

Listing the actual LINK to the patch, instead of the topic being discussed would be extremely helpful, since finding that LINK for the patch is impossible!

  • Will Firefox 6.0 support Norton Identity Safe now? If not now, when?

I lost Norton Identity Safe when I upgraded to Firefox 5.0. I don't want to upgrade to 6.0 until I know it will support this plug-in. I DO NOT like Last Pass plug-in; every time I use it I get the error message that I am not on line and I know I am.

If identity safe, part of Norton 360, doesn't work with the new version I do not want to waste my time with it.

  • Does current version (6)work with Norton identity safe?

I don't want to upgrade to version 6 if it does not work with Norton 360 identity safe. I know there was a problem with one of the earlier upgrades.

Norton IDS works with Firefox 7, which was released this morning. See Norton support for details.

  • Does Firefox 12.0 work with Norton Identity Safe?

I recently updated to Firefox 12.0 and wanted to take advantage of Norton offering for free their Identity Safe app. I am running Mac OSX 10.7.3 and when it took me to the mac app store, it uploaded the extension in my Firefox ribbon on the top, but when I click on it, it opens in Safari. Is it not compatible yet with Firefox?

After you run "Live Updates" from the PC Security Section contained in the Norton Security Suite, do the following:
    '''1.''' Click on "'''Tools'''" ---
    '''2.''' Click on "'''Add-ons'''" ---
    '''3.''' Click on "'''Extensions'''" ---
'''4.''' Click on "'''''Enable'''''" to the right of the "'''''Norton Tool Bar 2011.7.7.5'''''" ---
'''5.''' Click on "'''''Enable'''''" to the right of the "'''''Symantec Intrusion Prevention 10.1.1.8-4'''''" ---- Then restart your system if needed.

  • Does Firefox 7.0 support Symantec (Norton) Identity Safe?

The Firefox 6.X does not support the Norton Identity Safe, does the new 7.0 support it? In order to keep using Firefox I reverted back to an earlier version - I use Identity Safe all of the time so it is absolutely needed.

A Norton compatibility patch for Firefox 7.0 is available as of 09-27-2011. <br />

  • Switching browser using IE tab plus - the Norton Identity Safe does not work

Using Firefox 4.0.1 and Norton 360 5.1.0.29 - which has recently been "fixed" to work together (by Norton).
When using IE Tab Plus to switch rendering engines (Firefox to IE) the Norton Identity Safe does not work by not pre filling user names and passwords to sites that are registered in the Norton Safe and also for any new sites does not offer the option to add a new site to the Norton safe . . . . . is this a Norton or Firefox or IE Tab issue? And has anyone else had this problem?

Symantec need to update their Firefox add-ons so that they are compatible with Firefox 4. They have indicated that for Norton 360 they plan to release an update to Norton 360 to support Firefox 4 in early May - http://us.norton.com/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20100720113635EN&ln=en_US
I do not know about the time scale for updates for other Norton products. Pending the update by Symantec, if you want to use the Norton add-ons you will need to downgrade to Firefox 3.6.
To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.

  • I recently upgraded to 4.0 and it does not recognise my norton identity safe. I was told by norton that it would be another month before ff 4.0 would recognise my identity safe

    ''locking as a duplicate - https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/804125''
I recently upgraded to FF4.0. after I upgraded I found out that 4.0 dose not recognize my Norton Identity tool bar, so I can't use my Norton identity safe, which I was able to use in FF3.6. I spoke to Norton and they told me it would be at least a month more before FF4.0 would recognize my Norton tool bar. How can I go back to FF3.6?

Symantec have released updates for Norton 360 and Norton Internet Security to make them compatible with Firefox 4, for details see http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/Firefox-4-compatibility-hotfix-is-now-available/td-p/428894

  • My Norton Identity Safe does not work since installing FF4.0.1

After installing FF4.0.1 my Norton Identity Safe does not work. Also, I have been getting a few pop-up windows which my Norton would normally have blocked. Norton is not showing any issues. FF is set to block Pop ups.

Symantec have made an update for their add-ons to work in Firefox 4, but they only listed them as compatible with Firefox 4.0, they need to update them to let them work in Firefox 4.0.1. • Norton identity safe with firefox 5 and windows 7 compatibility?

Will my Norton Identity Safe work with Firefox 5 and Windows 7?

This is an old thread and the question was asked in relation to Firefox 22.
We are now on Firefox 23.0.1
If anyone has a problem using Norton with Firefox 23.0.1 or Firefox 23 please start a new thread. Use [/questions/new]
    mikeymack2002 says above
''1 temporarily disable Firefox auto update''
'' 2 download the new version of FIREFOX ...''
'' just simply that it doesn't like the new Firefox update at present,''
If I understand that correctly mikeymack2002 is saying Norton does not like the Firefox updater. If that is the case it is a separate problem. Please start a new thread.
I do not wish to go off topic and continue discussing Firefox 23 and Norton here but will just add some information before locking this old and solved thread.
With regard to Firefox 23 please note this Norton post about Norton <s>not</s> '''now''' being compatible with Firefox 23

  • Just updated browser to 13.0.1 - Norton Identity Safe was disabled. Every few months when brower is updated this happens, I have contact Norton.

I updated FireFox to 13.0.1 last night and my Norton Identity Safe disappeared. I found it had been disabled. I contacted Norton and got this reply:
''"If you made to upgrade to the Firefox version 13, they made some unexpected changes which has prevented the Norton Tool Bar from loading. We/the Engineers are working to correct this as quickly as possible. It is SO annoying when Firefox makes these changes and ends up frustrating so many of us. I’ve written a letter to them complaining of their deliberate attempts to keep the Norton Tool Bar from functioning. Maybe if enough others do the same, we might not have to suffer this disruption of our convenience."''
Why on earth does this happen so often? I never have problems with the few other plug ins I use. Would be nice if there was better communication for developers of security software were kept in the loop.

Please post a link to where that response was posted. The wording that you quoted appears to have not come from a Norton employee or helper. Thanks.
Here is Norton's announcement on their updates for Firefox 13, posted on the same day that Firefox 13 was released. Norton has become very good about getting their Add-ons for Firefox updated on the same day, or within a couple of days after, the release of new Firefox versions.

  • Trouble w/Norton Identity Safe and Registration and Log In to Firefox Add-ons and Firefox Help pages

I don't understand it, but now it let me login that time to give more details. So, I don't know...this is very confusing to get an updated Version (8) and not have Norton Identity Safe. I've rebooted, run the Norton Live Update several times.
Then, the Firefox Help wouldn't let me log in to the page, said I already existed, but wouldn't let me have access to the page. Then, once I asked the question, it recognizes me. Very confusing stuff.
Could not sign in to the Firefox Add-on page, either.

  • Can only load Norton Identity Safe in one Firefox window.

I can only load Norton Identity Safe in one Firefox window. I used to be able to open up my Identity Safe and log in on any open window. Now it only opens in the first Firefox window I open, but not in any others. Can I fix this problem ?

    Hi,
You can try deleting [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Localstore.rdf localstore.rdf] and [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Sessionstore.js sessionstore.*] files in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder profile folder] after exiting Firefox. To open the profile folder via Firefox: '''Help''' ('''Alt''' + '''H''') > '''Troubleshooting Information''' > '''Show Folder'''.
[http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder & Files]
Please note that deleting the sessionstore.* files would also forfeit the open tabs so you may want to bookmark them. You can '''Bookmark All Tabs''' by right-clicking on a tab. For the [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/what-are-app-tabs?s=tab+group&r=2&as=s App tabs] you would have to bookmark them individually.
If the problem persists, the [http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Toolbar-Norton-Identity/bd-p/Toolbar_IDSafe Norton support] would also be helpful regarding any new issues in the toolbar functionality.

  • Upgraded to Firefox 4.0, and Norton Identity Safe quit working. How do I fix?

Norton Identity Safe won't work with Firefox 4.0

I just got off chat with Norton Tech support. A hot fix by the end of the week or early next week is on the way! It will be in the auto update. I went back to the previous version just because of this topic.
