Does Verizon offer a "call my phone" service.

The other day I lost my phone in my apartment.  It took me an hour to find it, in plain sight, on a shelf where I never place it.
Unfortunately I gave up my land line years ago so I couldn't call my self.
Is there somewhere on this site where I can just put in a request to have a bot call my phone.  I don't know what the free services on line would do with my number.

What plan are you on??? If you are on the More Everything plan, the hotspot is included in your monthly service charge. There are no extra fees, simply the charge for the amount of data used.
Keep in mind, your Verizon iPhone does not have simultaneous voice/data capabilities. You would not be able to supply data to your phone or other devices if you are on a call.

  • Does Verizon offer free calls to family/friends not on verizon like other companies?

Does Verizon offer free calls to family/friends not on verizon like other companies?  I recently added my boyfriend. We thought it would be ok if he called his family at night to keep in touch. We thought that the long standing 'Free nights & weekends' would keep us in the safe zone.  that was obviously not the case. I hate to tell that he can't talk to them as much as he does.  I'd rather not increase the plan. His family members either have landlines or with different cell phone companies.
Any recommendations?  And has Verzon done away with Free nights & weekends?
    Thanks,
    animatdjul

Yes Verizon Wireless offer calling plans that include Friends and Family. We have a single plan of 900 minutes that include 5 numbers to F&F and we have family share plans 1400 minutes and 2000 minutes that include 10 F&F numbers to add to your list. The promotion include cellphones that are not within the Verizon Wireless Network, landlines, and 800 numbers. The plans  do not include numbers added  outside of the United States..Hope this information helps!

  • Does Verizon market a basic cell phone any longer?

Needing a basic phone.  Does Verizon offer one?
What is a simple phone?  Here's what it is not:  It does not surf the web.  It does not play music or videos.  It does not take photographs.  It doesn't even need to text.  It doesn't need to be festooned with buttons that activate services the user doesn't need.  It doesn't need to beep when you shift it in your pocket or put on your seatbelt.
What does it need to do?  It needs to be able to accommodate a user wishing only to dial calls and receive calls, take messages and retain a list of contact numbers.  It needs to have buttons placed INSIDE the folded unit so the user while accessing the phone doesn't turn something on or up or down or off.  Beyond that, it just needs to sit there quietly until a call comes in.
Does Verizon offer such a phone?  If not, can anyone suggest a carrier that does.
[Sorry for the rant, but I am pretty burnt out on paying a monthly fee for a simple phone that is clearly not designed from the user innerface point of view.  My current Samsung Grunt has proven to be a huge disappointment largely because it possesses too many features.  I just want to make a ****** phone call.  ]

No. Verizon does not supply outward facing public IP addresses for residential accounts. That would be the WAN IP that could be seen and used on the public side of your router. To get a static IP for your WAN address you would need to have a Verizon business account, flat out plain and simple, no conflicting information. Regardless if it is a HSI or FiOS account the Static IP is optional for small businesses, and yes it does cost more.
    http://search.verizon.com/?st=zz&tp=s&rv=s&q=Static+IP
If you want to be able to contact your router remotely based on a domain or domain host Dynamic IP, there are various companies that do this. You would just configure port forwarding to the service and computer on your internal network. A free host ID on their domain or a paid domain name with more elaborate features. I have used both at one time or another. The last time was for a temporary speed test server I was running for network speed tests on my GPON 150/65 connection I had. Some people use it for security cameras, or home control systems where they do not wish to connect through a third party. There are many reasons for wanting this. But remember, it is against Verizon's TOS to run a server on a residential account. But I have only heard of them going after someone with a warning because of excessive traffic being generated on a FiOS account.

  • Does Verizon offer any incentives if you bring them a new customer?

I think I have convinced my sister to switch from AT&T to Verizon.  Will Verizon offer me any incentives, e.g., a greater discount on my upgrade for referring her to them as a new customer?
I am due for an upgrade on October 24, 2011 and I would like to upgrade from a Blackberry to a Droid Bionic and I was hoping Verizon might discount the Bionic for me if I refer my sister to them.
Or would it be better just to add her as a family member?  Ironically, if she signs a two year contract as a new customer, she can get the Bionic for $149.00 at AmazonWireless.com, whereas if I upgrade as an existing customer, I will pay $219.00. One would think Verizon would be more generous to their loyal customers, as I have been with them for over five years.  Any advice? Thank you!

If you are saying the you receive a bigger discount through AmazonWireless for being a new customer rather than a renewing customer with Verizon, then it is AmazonWireless and not Verizon that is being more generous.
If you are purchasing the phone through Verizon, the cost of the phone would be the same, regardless if you are a new customer or a renewing customer.

  • Call Manager Phone Services to Personal Address Book

    Cisco Forum:
I'm trying to configure Call Manager (8.6.2.x) for Phone Services so that we can use the IP Phone's Service button to access the Personal Address Book & Fast Dials.  While I have the option (Test PAB-Fast Dial) appearing when the Services button is selected, the process ends with the bottom screen shot showing "Error in Authentication."
By using the Directories button then selecting the Personal Address Book, I can successfully log into the application.
What am I missing?  Below is the current URL being used.
    Thank you.

    Nelson:
The URL that is working for us is:
    http://10.2.5.234:8080/ccmpd/pdCheckLogin.do?name=#DEVICENAME#&service=pab
then use your own IP address for the Call Manager node.
Our Call Manager configuration is shown below.
To access the feature, we hit the Services Button, are prompted with a Personal Address Book option, select it, then are promoted for a UserID/PIN (shown further below), at which point I enter my LDAP ID and a PIN.  The PIN is created in Call Manager under User Management ==> End User ==> PIN.
    Good luck with your process.

  • Why does Verizon have to make a phone look ugly with it's logo???

So, I have this nice otherwise good looking phone, except for the freaking Verizon logo on the front of the glass at the top. I was looking at other providers' G3 and none of them did that. What is up with this and why do they feel the need to do this? Verizon didn't make this phone so they need to get their branding off of it. Stuff like this makes me want to go back to AT&T, and I think is the reason Verizon doesn't even get some of the nice phones that come out...........AT&T will at least allow them (and they work because of GSM) on their network. Anyway sorry for the rant.......just aggravated.

If that is all that is bothering you having branding on a cell phone, then god bless you.
The branding is money for Verizon and LG. The phone don't work any different from non branded LG phones.
if you go to a carrier as soon as the phone comes on you see all the Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile or AT&T internal crap.
That would or should tick you off more.
Loads of other problems in the world much more important than branding on a cellular phone.

  • Does Verizon offer any plans to those who bring their own verizon cellphone?

I have got one verizon iphone4s, and I don't think share everything is suitable for me since I only have one device and have to pay at least $90 a month.
I would like to purchase plan only, I don't need a new phone. (seems like prepaid plan is not available to my iphone)

    Here's how it is:
Yes you can go to Verizon with your own IPhone and activate without a contract.
You will always be eligible for upgrade and will not be in a contract. Your contract date will be the day you start service which means you wont have one.
TECHNICALLY: All new customers are only able to go to Share Everything Plan. BUT Customer Service and store reps can just change it to the 450, 900, or Unlimited plan talk only or with Talk and Text. If the store wont do it, start a plan with share everything then just call customer service for a smaller plan with tiered data.
The Nationwide 450, 900, and Unlimited are not inactive plans (Grandfather Plans) so new customers can be switched to the older Nationwide 450, 900, Unlimited plans. You just need to ask for it.

        Hello to you Thiminh!
Having the ability to make a phone call to the people you talk to the most at any time of the day is super important! It will be my absolute pleasure to double check into this for you.
Depending on the type of plan that you have Verizon to Verizon phone calls should not deduct from your minute allotment. Which plan do you have?

  • What does Verizon offer in the way of wireless modem/routers?

My stepson currently has verizon DSL service and right now has a single port, Westell 6100 modem/router for a wired connection only.  He's getting a new laptop and wants to continue to connect his desktop machine directly to the modem/router but wants to connect the laptop using it's built-in wireless "N" NIC.
The issue is that my stepson is VERY non-technical and I feel very stongly that the best direction for him is to go with a wireless modem/router that is provided by and supported by Verizon.  Can anyone tell me what make/model of wireless modem/routers Verizon is offering and whether any of them are supporting wireless "N" vs. the older wireless "G" standard?

    Hello there,
You are on the right track!
I just traveled this road myself. You're right if you don't use verizon equipment nothing else will work.
Contact verizon DSL support tell them based on your application you want a VersaLink Model 7500 by Westell
    It's a 4 port plus wireless combo modem/router.
It will address all your application wishes. Tech support  will assist you with the set up.
Trust me you are going to love this Westell hardware.
    Hope this helps Good luck!

  • Does Qik use WiFi and Cell phone service ?

At home we have WiFi in the house connected to our Router, which connects to our ISP.
Using an iPhone in our house, using Qik,...will all the vido data use our WiFi connection ?
...to send a new Qik video ?
...to receive a new Qik video ?
If we are out of the house, with no WiFi available, will Qik use our "cell phone network" ?
(Which will use "data minutes" I assume.)
I guess this is separate from "TXT messaging",   and if I have a limit on TXT, that is independent from Qik ?
    Sound correct ?
Just want to have a good idea of when Qik uses each network.
    Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi,
All depends on the connection type that your phone is using. If you are using WiFi connection with your iPhone at home, then Skype Qik usage - as any other internet usage on the device - will go through WiFi.
When you are out and connected through "mobile internet", then Skype Qik will use this connection for sending/receiving videos.
It does not affect your text messaging limits in any way, as it uses internet connection for sending/receiving videos.
PS. On iPhone (iOS 7 and up), you can actually go to Settings > Cellular to tell the app to use WiFi only, if needed.

  • Upgraded to iOS5 on my Verizon iPhone4-Incoming calls causes phone to reboot?

It took a few attempts before the upgrade was successful and everything appeared to be great until I started receiving phone calls today. Each time the call would come in I would go to slide to answer the call and screen goes blank then the white apple appears and the phone reboots and comes back to life with no indication the call came in?

  • Does Verizon ever provide a different model phone if the customer has basically had the same issues with 3 prior 'replacemet' (refurbished) phones?

I have owned a Samsung Galaxy Stellar for the about the past year and a half, which is only my second smartphone. I am not a whiz at all this but I'll try to be coherent. I had problems with the Stellar  from the beginning: Very slow loading browser, problems with the cursor, etc. After about 6 months, the phone dropped, and no, I didn't throw it on the ground!
I have insurance and it was still under warranty, so it was replaced, by Assurian, I believe. The replacement phone had the same problems, plus a whole lot more. During calls, the wifi, and/or Bluetooth options would appear, or the phone would suddenly go on mute. In addition, when I tried to access my voicemail, what I heard was my own voice and outgoing message, not the one from Verizon asking for the password. These problems were intermittent, which made the Verizon employees  dubious, but it's like the car that you take to the garage that suddenly works fine. Anyway, there were some other problems too, so I got a replacement phone again, which is the phone I currently have had for about 3 months. A few days ago it went from bad to worse. In fact it went Crazy!: Every call I make or receive is immediately dropped. Maybe after 5 or 6 tries, I can  complete a call, but rarely. When I do, the mute and speaker options spontaneously activate, at the same time!!  When I go into my voicemail, the messages are deleted in rapid fashion, one after the other, and I cannot get them back.   Or, as I said earlier, the Wifi/Bluetooth screens appear, and it's difficult to punch in any numbers as I have to hit the back arrow many times. Strangely, the phone makes odd sounds: It buzzes or makes this odd chiming sound! If I didn't know better, I would think that I have finally lost my mind! I could go on but you have the gist.  The phone is simply not workable. I  phoned tech support, and she was very nice. After an hour on the phone, it worked ok, until the following day. She didn't do a factory reset, but she had me take the sim card and battery out. She did things on her end, which unfortunately I don't recall, but the phone worked ok until the following day, when it went crazy again.
I took it to the corporate Verizon store where I live, The guy said "It's a lousy phone, a cheap, bottom of the line phone." By the way, throughout this time, I had had about 6 hours with tech support, between this phone and the last one.
THIS IS MY QUESTION: I asked him if I could have a totally different phone, since this model is clearly defective. He said no, but they could send me another replacement. He told me to call trech support  while I was there in the store and ask them, because they don't do repairs at the store. The tech on the phone  told me the issue is with my Gmail account! That there is a virus on some phones and each time I get a replacement phone, because I have kept the same Gmail account, the virus keeps getting 'transferred', for lack of a better word, to the next phone. I was totally incredulous. Virus? She said, "Well, I use the  term loosely, but it's just a weird glitch. When you get a replacement phone, bring it back and we'll save and upload all your data, and set  you up with a new email account." I was confused and annoyed, as I had never heard of this, and felt I was getting the runaround. I asked her if they could give me a different phone (free of charge) and of course the answer was no. By the way, I should mention that the Stellar is no longer made. These are my options, according to the 3 different Verizon employees I spoke with: I am eliblele for the early upgrade which they call the Edge. From what I understand, it's the full retail price paid out over 2 years, with a partial payment made at time of purchase. One person told me that after 24 months, they would accept what I paid as payment in full? Sounds too generous. Option 2 is $50 of a new phone, and option 3 is to buy a new phone at a Verizon store that is having an android sale. So, I acquiesced to getting another replacement which I will keep until I buy a new totally different phone. My impression is that it's not like buying a bad toaster. They don't refund your money and let you get whatever you want for the same price! My question is this: Does Verizon ever just replace a phone that has had problems, with a totally different model? I have made as much of a stink as I can muster towards that end, but I am wondering if anyone out there has actually been able to pull that off?
Thank you for any feedback ,comments or stories!

amysue, We defintely want you to have a reliable and working phone. Our apologies that you have had issues with the current model, the Galaxy Stellar. After reviewing information about the overall function of the phone, it does not appear that Samsung has recalled the device or stated that all Stellar devices are defective, with that being said, the warranty would still only cover the same make and model. The only time a completely different phone is sent out is if the manufacturer deems the entire make and model overall faulty. It is common to have a few glitches and a master/factory reset, in addition to all other troubleshooting, will help resolve these issues. The Stellar is no longer made because there have been several Samsung galalxy devices launched, and this is common with any device manufacturer. Our recommendation is to take advantage of EDGE, if you are seeking a new device with low monthly payments. This gives you the chance to explore different device options without having a contract and you can EDGE up to a new device once meeting certain requirements. We hope to resolve your concerns here or by calling customer support.
