Does WebI has Freezing Columns functionality like excel while viewing repor

We have many measures that are dependiend on common dimensions, so we have 1-2 dimension column and 15-20 measures columns displaying the required data.
Client is looking for freezing dimension columns; functionality so that they can associate the measures as they more horitontally.
How to fix this issue?
Export to excel and they can use freeze is workaround I already know
Any other workaround or solution or best approach for these types of issues?

You can use LiveOffice.It will allow you to bind WebI or directly Universe data in Excel.

I have a couple of questions .
Issue:11.I have a input query assigned it to a web template.The query displays the KF's by fiscalperiod/fiscalyear. There are around 10 characteristics and additional KF's by fiscal period.Is it possible to freeze the characteristics like in Bex analyzer or Excel spreadsheet. Is it possible to do it at the template level.

To do the export to excel, do I have to attach a planning function for export to excel button. I know there is a function to export to PDF file. I don't see a export to excel function.Please advise.

issue 2
it is quite easy in WAD 7.0; all you have to do is to use command wizard - > export -> excel...
After that you have to choose web items which should be exported. If you don't choose anythink, every web item will be exported.

Import Web Page content into table, like Excel imports a Frame from a page

I have a need to import specific content from a web page (specific frame on the page) and store that data in a table. We currently have Microsoft Excel setup with a link to the page and import a specific frame off the page into Excel. But I would like to do this directly into PeopleSoft. Has anyone done something like this before?

You haven't explained what the format of the text file is and
how you want to display it. You can get the contents of a file with
CFHTTP (if it's in a web-readable directory) and treat it as a
query if it is in a delimited data format. Then you can use
CFOUTPUT as you would with any other query.
You can also use CFFILE to read the contents of a text file
and display it in your page. You can use HTML PRE tags or you can
replace the CR/LF with a BR tag to force a line break.. Lots of
options, depending on your particular situation.

Its not about hacking. There are many instances when the facility has to be given to the user for their convenience. These type of facilities can be given with warning that it is not advisable but if it is used it is upto the user. So if the person using it can see that it will not cause any problem to the implementation can use it

Does T61 has a bluetooth function

I bought a T61 and a bluetooth laser mouse. The mouse cannot be used because the system cannot find the bluetooth device.
I wonder if the T61 has a bluetooth device. If it has, how to turn on the Bluetooth device? Thank you all.

Not all T61 have bluetooth, it depends on the model of your T61, if you have it you can activate it by pressing Fn + F5, there is an option to switch on your wireless card and bluetooth module.

If you don't have the bluetooth module, you can install it yourself, the connector for the bluetooth module is in the screen case. I recommend you just get an external bluetooth adapter if you are only using the bluetooth mouse and it works just as well. I use the Wireless Notebook Presenter Mouse 8000 with the bluetooth adapter (packaged in with the mouse) for X60 and it works just as well as the internal bluetooth on my T60, R61i and T61p.

Freeze Column or Header row in Web report (NW04s)

Hi all,
there are lots of proposals on how to freeze (or lock) the lead column or the header row in BW3.x, but can't find any information on how to do it in NW04s Web reports. I believe you require some Java scripting. Any ideas?
I know you can do paging, but this is not good enough.

I am not sure but I read this some where ---> "There really is no suitable solution on the Web that mimics the functionality found in Excel. However, depending on the volume of data in your report, there are some satisfactory work-arounds. One is to use frames in your HTML page. You can type the static headings of your columns in the top frame, and scroll the report in the frame below. Not elegant, but it works. The second option is to maximize the number of data rows shown at a time, to say 25, and then use the BW navigation icons on the Web to flip pages, maintaining the headings. Both solutions require some work in the Web Application Designer. On a future note, there is a Web Analyzer available in version 3.5 that should replicate the freeze pane functionality from Excel. "

Hi,
If your template is static, you can write the excel function anywhere in the template. If the template is dynamic, then you can write the function after the expansion ( at the end of the expansion).

JTextArea with freeze pane functionality

Greetings. I am trying to implement a plain text viewer that has some sort of "freeze pane" functionality (like that found in MS Excel)
I took the approach of using 4 JTextArea and put them into a JScrollPane, its row header, column header and upper-left corner. All these text areas share the same document.
Everything works as expected. When I scroll the lower-right pane, the row and column headers scroll correspondingly. The problem I have is that the document in the lower-right pane now shows duplicate portion of the document that is already showing in the row and column headers.
Knowing that this should merely be a matter of shifting the Viewport on the document, I went through the documentation and java source, and just couldn't find a way to translate the view. SetViewPosition() works to a certain extent, but the scrollbars allow users to scroll back to the origin and reveal the duplicate data, which is undesirable.
Your help with find out a way to relocate the view to the desired location is much appreciated.

Try a reset, which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release. A reset is similar to computer restart.

Excel like 'Freeze column header' functionality in sharepoint OOB list view webpart

Hi,
I have OOB external list dropped on a page as listview webpart. It contains many records and hence while scrolling down headers are no available, hence it should freeze all column headers while scrolling down the page. Its directly dragged and dropped
on site page hence no server side formatting can be done.
Is there any way we can apply some client side script to freeze column headers to listview webpart while scrolling down? or any settings that can be done to acheive this?

Normal techniques for freezing the header row of an HTML table tend to fall short when it comes to SharePoint 2010 lists due to the lack of THEAD elements.
You can try something like this, although you may want to test it in various browsers in case the column heading alignment is off.

Edit: Also, you may want to inspect the HTML attributes on the external list view to be sure the class names match up with the querySelector parameters above. Specifically, the table should have a class of "ms-listviewtable", the header row should
have a class of "ms-viewheadertr", and rows of alternating background color should have a class of "ms-alternating".
If any of those are different in your case, you may be able to adjust the above code accordingly.

FREEZE COLUMNS AND ROWS IN WEB REPORT - PLEASE ADVISE ME

Hi Experts,
I have a web template that contains a query. My customer wants to freeze columns and rows in this report like we do in Excel. I know that in BW 3.5 this is not a standard feature of Table item. In forum I have found some messages regarding with this issue. I inserted a JavaScript code that I have found in forum, but this does not help. A codewriter wrote some other JaveScript for example alert(), that works but some part of taken code from forum such as defined functions do not work.
Other solutions advised in forum such as fixing row numbers or column numbers do not fix my problem.
My questions:
1 - In new version of BW, BI 7.0 have this issue with WAD in standard been solved?
2 - Does it really possible at the same time rows and columns to freeze? I want to freeze 2 rows from top, 2 columns from left.
Could anyone have an idea?

And before SPS13, i frame is useful to realize what you want to do. Using 2 "Analysis" web item. and display of 1st analysis web item is restricted only thin the header of the table and the 2nd Analysis web item is used as "table". display of this "analysis" is also restricted to 10 - 30 rows.
but this consume hardware resource.

How to get Excel to function like InfoPath with SharePoint libraries?

When working with InfoPath, there is a way to promote fields from your form to a SharePoint Library so that when you submit the form, it submits the actual form and the metadata from the fields in the form to columns in the document library in SharePoint.
Well, I'm trying to accomplish this with Excel, but am so used to doing it with InfoPath I'm running into a lot of walls. I've found an add-in that allows me to insert a table and publish/sync it to a library in SharePoint, so that data from that table is
sent to the library.
Trouble is, I need the spreadsheet to also be "submitted" to the library so I can send it to specific users based on a workflow. So basically, I need metadata from the form to be sent to the library for the purpose of triggering the workflow so that
it routes the spreadsheet to the correct user. But in order for it to route (or provide a link to the spreadsheet in the workflow email) the sheet, it also needs to get submitted to the library.
So I'm trying to get InfoPath functionality out of this.

Excel does not integrate with SharePoint like that. Is there a reason you're dealing with entire spreadsheets instead of converting them to lists and/or using InfoPath for form purposes?

Actually, it does. You can promote fields from Excel, InfoPath, etc. to SharePoint and use them to do exactly what I was looking to do above. I actually did this for a huge project and it worked.
And yes, the Excel spreadsheets have an addin that is required for the business process on the client side.

Adding "Filter Criteria" to the XSLT List View Web Part impact on "Export to Excel" functionality within Document Library

XSLT List View displaying all the list items within the Document Library. In order to implement the Search functionality within Document library out of box "Text Filter" web part is configured as explained below. The solution is similar to
the one suggested at

"Text Filter" Web Part added to the page.
Filter Criteria (i.e., XSLT List View columns) added to the XSLT List View where the filter parameters take the input from the "Text Filter" Web Part .
3. Both Web Parts (XSLT List View and the Text Filter) are connected.
When the search criteria is entered into the "Text Filter" Web Part, it is passed to the relevant Columns of the XSLT List View and the documents (List Items) that match the search criteria are shown within XSLT List View.
Search functionality working as expected.
Query: Selecting the "Export to Excel" icon from the ribbon generates the excel spread sheet with no data except Column Titles from the Document library. In the investigation it is
found that adding the 'Filter Criteria' on XSLT List View is causing this bug. When the Filter Criteria is removed, then "Export to Excel" functionality is working as expected.
But it is mandatory to add "Filter Criteria" to implement the search functionality with in the document library.
Help: Help/input appreciated on the work around to get the "Export to Excel" functionality work when the "Filter Criteria"
exist on the XSLT List View.

In the investigation it is found that removing the 'Filter Criteria' on XSLT List View makes the "Export to Excel" functionality work. But the 'Filter Criteria' is mandatory to get the 'Document Search' functionality.
I think that due to technical limitations it should be concluded that 'only custom development can make all work, no code solutions using the SharePoint Designer can meet all the requirements.
If you can think of any alternative solution that could help in resolving the current issue or fix the issue without any custom implementation please inform. Otherwise this issue would be marked as resolved with your suggested response.
