  • Does the oracle golden gate version 11.1.1.1.2 support oracle 12C database ?

    Hi experts,
    Currently in our environment we are having Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.5.0 - 64bit DB which is replicated via oracle golden gate version 11.1.1.1.2. As per the application team requirement we need to migrate this database to 12C.
    Can any one help me on the below queries
    Does the oracle golden gate version 11.1.1.1.2 support oracle 12c database ?
    Are there any syntax changes in oracle goldengate versions which needs to be taken care in extract or replicat parameter files ?
    Thanks,
    Mushraff Shaik

    Hi,
    >>Does the oracle golden gate version 11.1.1.1.2 support oracle 12c database ?
    Why do you think it will not support 12c database ?
    From a Golden Gate perspective you need to create schema and use that.  As you are moving to 12c database, ideally you should think of upgrading Golden Gate 11.1 to 12c so you can use new feature such as Multi Threaded replicate etc..

  • SQL Developer does not support Oracle 8i

    Hi,
    I was waiting a tool from Oracle like SQL Developer for a long time, finally it came, but I am a little disapointed, so Why SQL Developer does not support Oracle 8i? Other free tools like SQUIRREL can do it. I also have worked in previous projects using PL/SQL Developer and it works fine...Why a native Oracle tool can not do it?
    I am in a project where we have to upgrade the Oracle database to a newer version, but I cannot have access to the old one...
    I know there are some threads in this forum, and some people can work with 8i with no issues. Can anyone who works with SQL Developer and Oracle 8i please tell me how to do it?
    Thanks,

    That's what I thought, the issue is more commercial ($$$) than technical. Anyway...I downloaded the version 1.1 but now I am getting an ORA-02248: invalid option for ALTER SESSION error. 00604. 00000 "error occurred at recursive SQL level %s".
    Thanks,

    if I install Windows 7 on iMac (what we have done many times and it works very good) does windows support the fusion drive?

    Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
    Fusion Drive is created by software on OS X. On a computer with Fusion Drive, Windows is installed on the HDD, but when you install the Boot Camp drivers, you will be able to read Macintosh HD, so it looks like it supports Fusion Drive but only for read

  • Does NFS support Oracle RAC with TAF ?

    Hi,
    Does NFS support Oracle RAC with TAF feature. ?
    If yes, please point to some valid document to prove the same.
    Regards
    Sumit

    TAF has nothing to do with the underlying storage architecture and is therefore 'supported' with your choice of asm, raw devices, cluster file system and NFS. NFS is supported on some platforms. For more details, check the certify tab in metalink. Some information can also be found here
    TAF will be available on any rac installation, but not all drivers support it (jdbc-thin for example)

  • Does Azure supports switching between databases?

    We have 1000s of Stored Procedures, Views & Functions with 'SELECT * FROM DB1.dbo.TBL1' we constantly switch between databases (about 300 of them) within a single instance, running real-time on-line business. These are back-end SQL queries that
    we normally run from one of the ADMIN databases with in the same instance.
    I tried using 'USE <database name>' and realized that it does not support and then tried using <db name>.dbo.<tbl name> that also does not work.
    If these 2 functions does not support within Azure we simply cannot use the environment to support our business databases, could someone please confirm this - thanks.

    Hello,
    Yes. Cross database references or four-part names are not supported by SQL Azure.
    Windows Azure SQL Database supports the three-part name database_name.[schema_name].object_name when:
    • the database_name is the current database
    • the database_name is tempdb and the object_name starts with #.

  • Is Weblogic Application Sever 6.1  supports Oracle 9i database?

    Kapil,
    See http://edocs.bea.com/wls/platforms/index.html#jdbc
    We don't specifically support Oracle 9i, but that doesn't preclude you from
    using a 3rd party JDBC driver (perhaps from Oracle) to use with WLS. See the
    above link for qualifications on 3rd party drivers.
    Thanks,

    Hi Kapil,
    For questions on what platforms are supported, your best bet is to look at

    not appear that Oracle 9i is officially supported at this time.

  • IDM 7.1 does not support MySQL repository database?

    In the IDM 7.1 release notes it states a note under the requirements
    Identity Manager supports the following repository database servers...
    NOTE Identity Manager supports MySQL in a development environment only.
    MySQL is not supported in a production environment.
    Can someone comment on this. This is new.

    Note that the support for MySQL also extends to the SPE functionality; you can run a MySQL script to allow you to build a development instance without having to have an Oracle instance, thus saving money in the dev environment. However, in production, installations relying on the SPE transactional functionality in IdM would almost always use Oracle over MySQL. So far, no SPE customer we know of is running MySQL in production, thus the stance of development only, not production.
    As for the IN versus JOIN; JOIN works as construct if the sought after value appears in more than one column/table within the database (Orders.EmployeeID = Employee.EmpID). As IdM has a datasparse design and tends to do more lookups from the user interface, there is a need to rely on IN to try and find the desired records. IN is a perfectly legal basic SQL command that is supported across all databases (thus not a bug). To fork the code to handle MySQL differently (if the lookup is feasible with a join) would defeat the purpose of using standard SQL to access the repository.

    LilyHi,
    i suspect that it might has to do with Oracle's syntax for the string object passed to the prepareCall() callable statement
    begin ?:={schema.][package.]function_name[(?,?,...)]; end;
    or
    begin [schema.][package.]procedure_name[(?,?,...)]; end;

    Hello.
    Can anybody explain, how should I understand this "Certification Information" from Oracle metalink?

    "Oracle Database is certified with the following Windows Server 2008 editions:

  • Does Oracle Support Running Oracle 10 Database on VMware ?

    hi experts,
    I have 10g Enterprise on a Windows 64-bit Enterprise platform.
    I know this is a recurring question - whether or not Oracle really supports customers that run Oracle databases in a VMWare environment.
    I found a document on My Oracle Support/metalink that is dated 2007. It says VMWare is not supported.
    But I think the situation may have changed since 2007.
    So can anyone point me to a document that shows whether Oracle does/does not support running Oracle databases on VMware - not Oracle's VMware product but VMWare, inc. ?
    Thanks for any current information. John

    1) Oracle has their own virtualization solution;
    2) VMWare is a brand, not a product. Your question is best asked in context of a product;
    3) Oracle will provide you with support as long as you can reproduce the problem in a non-VM environment.
    That last means - it is up to you to prove that the problem is not related to VMWare environment.I have never seen any scenario where Oracle demands you to prove that the problem is not related to VMware.
    If its their suggested solution does not work, and they think i should, they want you to migrate it to a physical machine and test there, however this has never happend, at least not for us. We have around 100 databases in VMware, and the common talk (even from Oracle people that visits us) is that the document is only there IF THERE BY SOME CHANCE IN THE WORLD WOULD COME TO A PROBLEM FOR A COMPANY, WHERE VMWARE IS THE PROBLEM, AND ORACLE CANT HELP, they have to have a get-out clause in terms of support against VMware.
