Does wireless Key board Model # A1016 work with the Macbook air?
I have an old Apple wirless key board Model # A1016, I am trying to pair it with my Macbook air. Doesn't seem to be working, does anyone know if it is even compatible or not?
My understanding is that the BWI uses an 802.11b wireless standard that is perfectly compatible with the built-in reception that the MBA has.
Is there anything that would lead you to doubt the compatibility?

Will any wireless keyboard and mouse work with the Macbook Air?
I just need to know if my existing keyboard/mouse will work or if I need to purchase new.
Any BlueTooth keyboard or mouse should work. I have a nifty Kensington BT keyboard that switches from my desktop to MBA to iPad with the flick of a single key and I have a BT Magic Mouse.

Time Machine - is there any way to allow it to work with the MacBook Air 2011 lid closed?
When the Air sleeps, Time Machine stops (although it does pick up immediately after the machine wakes). I had been leaving it on overnight, but Applecare techs tell me there's no need for that, as there are no utilities running at night, contrary to what I'd seen elsewhere.
The risk is that I'll miss the last backup. Is there any way around the problem, other than calling a manual backup and waiting for it?
This is Lion.Sorry, I guess I wasn't precise enough. I'm concerned about this (remotely likely) situation:
10:15 p.m., TM backs up, next backup scheduled for 11:15 p.m.
11:10, I put the machine to sleep for the night. Previous backup 55 minutes ago, numerous files changed or added during that time.
7:30 a.m. next day, SSD crashes during wakeup. The last 55 minutes of operation have not been saved to the USB hard drive.
Is there an automatic way to avoid that gap in the backup? -
Does anyone know if Numbers will work on the MacBook Air?
If you just downloaded "free" Numbers then yes you have the current version that runs on OS X v9.x
If you need a Mac data processor (not specifically Numbers) then Open Office.org, Neo Office.org both have spread sheet (aka "number like) apps included with them. They also are free. -
Hi, does anyone have drivers that will enable a Tascam US-144 (old model) to work with the latest version of Lion? The drivers available on the manufacturer's download site are for a newer model and were not designed specifically to work with Lion. Does anyone have a tried and tested fix for this? Thank you.
Message was edited by: john.rmMost likely you have Office 2004 which are PPC-only applications and will not work in Lion. Upgrade to Office 2011. Other alternatives are:
Apple's iWork suite (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.)
Open Office (Office 2007-like suite compatible with OS X.)
NeoOffice (similar to Open Office.)
LibreOffice (a new direction for the Open Office suite.) -

Does Microsoft Entourage 2008 for mac work with the new Mac OS X v 10.7 Lion
Does Microsoft Entourage 2008 for mac work with the new Mac OS X v 10.7 Lion?
I am just about to install Lion just need to check to see if if my work e-mail will workSarah,
Check this link:
http://roaringapps.com/app:2533
It contains some issues that people have encountered with Lion and Office 2008. It appears it can work, but you may have to go through some of the steps a few of the posters there have listed.
That website also contains a pretty large list of applications and if they will work with Lion.
Hope this helps! (I am not affiliated in any way with the site linked). -

Does the ICURVE work with the MacBook Pro?
I'm in need of a laptop stand for my new MBP and saw the Griffin iCurve PowerBook/iBook Stand online. Does anyone know if it will work with the MBP? Does anyone have experience using one of these stands (good or bad)? I'd love to hear your opinions. Thanks a lot.
BrettGoogling for "icurve macbook pro" produces this as a top hit:

There were more, but I didn't bother verifying their relevancy. I leave the heavy lifting to you. -
Can we copy a CD tutorial onto an iPad? Does it work like the MacBook Air when downloading or copying using the iMac?
So it can be .mp4 format.
If not you have to convert it.
Try import it into iTunes then sync it to your iPad.

Does "windows on a mac" work on the macbook air?
Does "windows on a mac" work on the macbook air? because watching the video, is says somthing about an installation disk. Many thanks
Hi pglhi,
You can absolutely install Windows onto your MacBook Air. There's two ways to do it:
1.) Using BootCamp
2.) Using virtualization software
If you use BootCamp it natively installs the Windows operating system on a portion of your hard drive that you partition as a dedicated Windows environment. You typically want to allow about 15-20 GB for this at a minimum but your mileage may vary.
With virtualization software you run Windows from within the OS X environment, using a program like Parallels Desktop, VMWare Fusion, etc. So you'd launch the Windows OS just like you'd start up a program. Because you're virtualizing the environment you're also "double dipping" into system resources. So the RAM and CPU usage that WIndows would be allocated is in addition to what's already being used by OS X. As such it can be a bit more demanding than a Boot Camp environment.
But the MacBook Air can handle both, just fine. If you do go the route of Boot Camp you'll need an external CD/DVD drive - or - have USB drive configured to support the Windows installation environment. -
My G2 iPod that I use as an external drive to archive memory cards on the go cannot link with my new 13" Macbook Pro cause it uses a firewire 400 lead. It will not work with a USB lead. Is there a firewire 800 ipod lead or converter available? Can any one shed some light on this please?
As far as I know, if a harddrive works with a Macpro, it should work with the Macbook: if your Macbook is low on power, plug in the AC adapter
If your Macbook has a firewire port, then it should be fine. BUt i would do somemore research first. -
