Does WLS6.1 support Oracle 9.2.0.1?

Hi,
We are having the situation that our UAT (test environment) using WLS6.1 and Oracle 8.1.7 while Production environment using WLS6.1 and Oracle 9.2.0.1.
Should our production go back to Oracle 8.1.7? Are there any likely problems we are going to have if we run our application (tested in v8.1.7) on Oracle v9.2.0.1 (not tested)? Is there any thing we need to do for WLS6.1 and Oracle9.2.0.1?
Please help!
Thanks in adv,

  • Does Studio Creator support Oracle ADF Faces and other components?

    Hi everyone
    According to:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/htdocs/partners/addins/exchange/jsf/doc/faq.html
    "Although ADF Faces is "vanilla" JSF we have not been able to run with Java Studio Creator Build 04.06.2. We are working with Sun to resolve the issues in Java Studio Creator."
    Does anyone know if Oracle ADF faces now work with Studio Creator and if so which version.
    In addition I am also looking for JSF visualization components. In addition to advanced 3-D graphs (send as PNG to client) I am also looking for components to visualize the structure of a website. These all need to work with Studio Creator.

    Importing 3rd party libraries used to be complicated. The .complib stuff was added precisely to make it easy.
    It does make packaging slightly harder for third party -vendors-, since there's one extra step, but this makes everything easier for (the much larger number of) users of the third party components, since the packaging format specifies a bunch of stuff that we used to have to ask of users when trying to add the jar and associated metadata into the IDE.
    The complib stuff is documented, so if you're producing a 3rd party JSF library, or if you really want to use one that hasn't yet been packaged, you can do the steps yourself.
    See http://wiki.java.net/bin/view/People/EdwinGoei -- the first couple of links describes the process. Yes, we're working with third party vendors to get this done for their component sets, and yes, there's talk with other IDE vendors to standardize all this.

  • Does oracle10g is supported by XML editor XML Spy??

    All:
    I have installed XMLSpy 2004 R3 professional edition and trying to Connect Oracle XML DB.
    But I am getting error that "Invalid userId or Password".
    I am trying to connect to:
    Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.1.0.2.0 - Production
    With the Partitioning, OLAP and Data Mining options
    Does XML Spy supports Oracle 10g? if so which version?
    ANd Plz let me know the steps to Connect..
    I appreciate your help and Thanks in Advance.....
    Srikanth

    You first create a special user for XML DB in this case xml_dev with password masterkey:
    CREATE USER xml_dev IDENTIFIED BY masterkey
    TEMPORARY TABLESPACE temp
    DEFAULT TABLESPACE users;
    GRANT connect, resource, dba, xdbadmin TO xml_dev;
    CONN xml_dev/masterkey@LOR;
    Create some repository folders:
    DECLARE
    v_return BOOLEAN;
    BEGIN
    v_return := dbms_xdb.createFolder('/home/DEV/');
    v_return := dbms_xdb.createFolder('/home/DEV/xsd/');
    v_return := dbms_xdb.createFolder('/home/DEV/lom/');
    COMMIT;
    END;
    Then connect with http or WebDav with port 8080 (maybe what you are missing) :
    http://<server>:8080/home/DEV/xsd/
    In XML Spy just put the URL user and password, in this case:
    http://<server>:8080/home/DEV/xsd/
    User: xml_dev
    Pass: masterkey
    Varify that you have the http server (apache) running on the server.

  • Does the oracle golden gate version 11.1.1.1.2 support oracle 12C database ?

    Hi experts,
    Currently in our environment we are having Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.5.0 - 64bit DB which is replicated via oracle golden gate version 11.1.1.1.2. As per the application team requirement we need to migrate this database to 12C.
    Can any one help me on the below queries
    Does the oracle golden gate version 11.1.1.1.2 support oracle 12c database ?
    Are there any syntax changes in oracle goldengate versions which needs to be taken care in extract or replicat parameter files ?
    Thanks,
    Mushraff Shaik

    Hi,
    >>Does the oracle golden gate version 11.1.1.1.2 support oracle 12c database ?
    Why do you think it will not support 12c database ?
    From a Golden Gate perspective you need to create schema and use that.  As you are moving to 12c database, ideally you should think of upgrading Golden Gate 11.1 to 12c so you can use new feature such as Multi Threaded replicate etc..

  • SQL Developer does not support Oracle 8i

    Hi,
    I was waiting a tool from Oracle like SQL Developer for a long time, finally it came, but I am a little disapointed, so Why SQL Developer does not support Oracle 8i? Other free tools like SQUIRREL can do it. I also have worked in previous projects using PL/SQL Developer and it works fine...Why a native Oracle tool can not do it?
    I am in a project where we have to upgrade the Oracle database to a newer version, but I cannot have access to the old one...
    I know there are some threads in this forum, and some people can work with 8i with no issues. Can anyone who works with SQL Developer and Oracle 8i please tell me how to do it?
    Thanks,

    That's what I thought, the issue is more commercial ($$$) than technical. Anyway...I downloaded the version 1.1 but now I am getting an ORA-02248: invalid option for ALTER SESSION error. 00604. 00000 "error occurred at recursive SQL level %s".

  • Does NFS support Oracle RAC with TAF ?

    Hi,
    Does NFS support Oracle RAC with TAF feature. ?
    If yes, please point to some valid document to prove the same.
    Regards
    Sumit

    TAF has nothing to do with the underlying storage architecture and is therefore 'supported' with your choice of asm, raw devices, cluster file system and NFS. NFS is supported on some platforms. For more details, check the certify tab in metalink. Some information can also be found here
    TAF will be available on any rac installation, but not all drivers support it (jdbc-thin for example)

    Yes, you have to specify it as java.sql.Types.OTHER and use the

  • Does Oracle Lite support Oracle Spatial

    Does anybody know whether Oracle Lite or Personal Oracle supports the Oracle Spatial plug-in. Also, for extra credit does anybody know what the difference between Personal Oracle and Oracle Lite is?
    We will be needing to provide some attribute and spatial data from our Oracle Enterprise database to several laptops for field personnel using an electronic map we developed. We would like to use a portable version of Oracle that supports Oracle Spatial objects.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Dan

    oh, I didn't realize it was so limited. No, that won't do. We're looking for a "mini" version of the real production database including stored code, triggers etc. Should be scaled down enough to allow rapid syncing of data and schema changes from the production (or really QA) database, but full enough to include the objects necessary to allow the developers to test their code changes to the front end applicaiton on their own environment.

  • Rep. does not have support for Oracle Designer

    We're new to SCM and just useing SCM with JDeveloper.
    Sorry for newbie stupidness. Searches of this forum didn't
    turn up any hits on 21247 or other strings.
    Given: brand new install of SCM. Created a private workarea
    with RON. Attempting to use RAU to enable branching and
    versioning.
    I'm having some chicken-vs-the-egg problems. I can't
    enable branching in my shared workarea with RAU because it
    seems to want to pop up the Migration Dialogue and then
    this error occurs:
    CDR-21247: Error Cannot proceed!
    The target repository does not have support for Oracle Designer
    objects
    Any help or tip would be greatly appreciated.

    Curt,
    If you managed to create a private workarea from the RON then versioning is enabled. You would have enabled this from the RAU.
    Oracle 9i JDeveloper release candidate provides a wizard to create the workarea and private branch.
    There are now two flavours of the repository, one with Designer + file and folder support and one with just files and folder support.
    If you have no structured Designer components you do not require the Designer support to use JDeveloper with Oracle SCM.
    I suggest you try the JDeveloper wizards. The RAU also offers a menu to examine repository object state. Check that you have no invalid
    objects, they can be recompiled using the RAU.

  • Does Discoverer3.1 Supports Mulitple Oracle Home

    Dear all
    Does Discoverer3.1 Supports Multiple oracle Homes?
    if no, how to Install oracle and Developer Suite on same machine?
    Regards
    Jai singh Tanwar

    duh, here.. Install Oracle.
    If you have multiple homes already, then in Windows, run regedit.Search for hey
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/software/Oracle/all_homes.
    Set key HOME_COUNTER to 1.
    Then install Discoverer on a new Home.
    If you have nothing installed yet, you might want to try installing Discoverer first (install support files in a new home first, then install Discoverer). Then you install Oracle on a new second home.
    I hope that helps. I'm running Discoverer 4. So check on the installation doc if there's any tricks listed for multiple homes...
