Does Yosemite support mac pro duel monitors?

Does Yosemite on early 2008 mac pro support duel monitors to the extent to make one desk top?

as long as that box is checked, each display is independent.
If you want the original "Extended Desktop":
Uncheck the box
close the preference pane or switch to another and save changes.

There is no 2007 23" Cinema Display
There is a 2002 23" display that has the Apple ADC connector
    http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/09/AppleDisplayConnector.jpg
There is also the 2004 23" display with a DVI connector.
For the latter you just need a mini display port to DVI connector that plugs into the Thunderbolt port
For the former you need that connector plu an DVI to ADC connector

does new 2012 mac pro ssd need trim enabler

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
If they need TRIM (I think that the flash storage included with the MacBook Pro does not need TRIM), Apple turns it on by default with the MacBook.
However, there are some people that doesn't recommend TRIM because it may hurt (rather than improve) performance > http://blog.macsales.com/11051-to-trim-or-not-to-trim-owc-has-the-answer

  • ITunes downloaded, but does not open-Windows does not support Mac script

I have recently bought a Toshiba laptop with pre-installed Windows Vista. I have managed to download iTunes, but I cannot open it. The computer posts a message saying that it does not support Mac script. I suppose that I need additional software (daemon tools?)? I would be grateful if someone could advise me in relation to this issue.
    Toshiba Satellite   Windows Vista

No, you should need nothing additional. I suspect you may have tried to download the Mac compatible version of iTunes & that's why your getting this message. Make sure you have checked the Windows version & nothe Mac version on the download page.

If money is no object, OWC will swap 2010 or 2012 Processor shelves for whatever you want as long as you have a working Mac Pro 5,1 shelf to swap and a ton of money.

  • Does my new mac pro retina come with antivirus. And, for how long

does my new mac pro retina come with antivirus? And, for how long?

    Yes it does.
It's called OS X Lion - fully updated.
There are no known viruses for MAC OS.
Your current OS is your best protection
If however, you want to feel more secured, download ClamX AV and do a scan once a week to give you peace of mind.
    Good luck

  • What graphics cards does the original Mac Pro support?

I am thinking about buying a used original 2007 Mac Pro. This Mac Pro would not come with a graphics card, so I am obviously responsible for finding one for it. I found a Radeon HD 5770 that I like on Newegg, and want to know if it would work with the Mac Pro. I really can't imagine it not, but don't want to toss a piece of hardware in my new machine that won't work.
Here's the graphics card in question: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127490
So, will it work? If not, is my only option for a 5770 the one that is available on the Apple Online Store? What other cards does this Mac Pro support?
    Thanks, guys (and gals)!

    http://forum.netkas.org/
    http://myworld.ebay.com/macvidcards/
Apple's 5770 $249 for now is the 'safe' but not best in price and whether you want to run OS X ____ ? limits you also, so unless you run 10.6.5 or Lion even the 5770 is out

  • Does Yosemite support Highpoint RAID cards?

Mac Pro, late 2010 12-core Westmere model with 24GB RAM.
Just updated to Yosemite. Discoverd the Highpoint RocketRAID card is no longer recognized and peripherals using eSATA are not mounting.
I don't recall whether it stated a driver was installed on previous versions of OS X, however I do know that the RAID card was supported natively at that time and attempting to add drivers resulted in the card not being recognized.
I've tried restarting, using a few RAID management tools from the vendors of peripherals I have, and updating the driver manually, and none have worked. Any suggestions?
Does it matter that the RAID controller is listed on 3 lines in the System Info, or is this just a glitch?
    The Vendor ID is 1103.

The model in my machine is the RocketRAID 644M. I've had no luck finding anything helpful online. From what I've seen this model should still be supported.
When I first installed the 644M, I tried to install drivers from the included disk and that prevented the card from working. The drivers are part of the system, if I recall correctly, so installing drivers ends up pointing the device to the wrong driver files.
I'm seeing this in the System Info Extensions pane:
    HighPointRR:
      Version: 4.3.3

I'm going to try backing up this kext above and then deleting it and maybe that will solve the problem.
    Thanks!

  • Display does not work mac pro

I tried connected 4 27" LG 1080p monitors to the mac pro (Late 2013), only two come on at a time no matter what ports i use. All the monitors have come on at least once but not all at the same time. Is there something I need to do? Also under system report it shows both graphic cards but the displays only show up on one card regardless of port. any ideas?

The warranty entitles you to complimentary phone support for the first 90 days of ownership.
If you bought the product in the U.S. directly from Apple (not from a reseller), you have 14 days from the date of delivery in which to exchange or return it for a refund. In other countries, the return policy may be different. If you bought from a reseller, its return policy applies.

  • Installing Yosemite on Mac Pro Early 2008

I seem to be having a problem installing Yosemite on my Mac Pro, 2008. This computer is running Snow Leopard 10.6.8, fully up to date. I checked Apple's website to check compatibility and I am understanding my machine is compatible. When I go onto the app store, I get a window saying "OS X 10.10 is not compatible with this system."
    The system contains:
2 x 2.66 Dual Core Intel Xeon Processor (Quad Core)
8 GB Ram DDR2 ECC      (Does it need to be DDR3?)
    Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
    NVIDIA GeForce 120 512 GDDR3
    750GB HDD
    10.6.8 Snow Leopard
I own a late 2013 MacBook Pro Retina (15" i7 2.3ghz, GeForce 750) and I connected my laptop to the Mac Pro VIA FireWire 800 (used thunderbolt adapter) and set the Mac Pro into "Target Disk Mode" and used the Yosemite installer and installed it to the HDD on the Mac Pro, but when I booted up the Mac Pro (after it installed), I got the blinking folder of death (Instead of Apple logo, flashing folder with question mark). At this point I had to use the Snow Leopard install disk, and start the Mac Pro using the disk, wipe the HDD and reinstall Snow Leopard and go back to phase one.
Please let me know what I can do.
    Thanks!

You said "2 x 2.66 Dual Core Intel Xeon Processor (Quad Core)"
Do you really have a two dual-core processors? If so then you do not have a 2008 Mac Pro. The 20 came with qual core processors. If you click on the Apple icon in upper right and select About This Mac what model Maac is listed? A 2008 is 3.1. A 2006 is 1.1 and 2007 is 2.1. Only the 2008 and later can go to higher than Lion without a hack

  • Yosemite and Mac Pro 2012

Ever since I updated, last Thursday, to Yosemite (on my Mac Pro 2012), I am now listed ON MY OWN COMPUTER as "Standard," not ADMINISTRATOR, which I am and have always been!  Therefore, I can't open many panes in System Preferences or change any settings in it.
I have re-installed Yosemite TWICE (after restarting and/or shutting down several times) and, after the reinstall, I get the "Log In" page and NO OTHER SET UP PAGES!  I can't seem to set myself up as the administrator, in order to manage my OWN computer - a Mac Pro 12-core, 2012.  I even changed my password to this computer.  HELP!

  • Does Yosemite support Windows DFS

Hi, Does Yosemite offer native support for Windows DFS ? I have used third party tools in the past like AdmitMac , is this still required ?
    Thanks guys
    Bob

This is great news, since I have to integrate Macs and iOS in a Windows AD Network with DFS. Are the macs now able to use these windows printer pools also? I had problems with these some years ago with 10.6 or 7.
Is there any documentation available to learn about the integration on these devices? Why is this kind of information so hard to find? Does Apple have documentation about it? Some years ago, there were these nice videos with hints and tips, but they are all gone.
    Any other resources of information?
    Thank you.
