Does your iphone turn on and off randomly

After updating my iphone it now has been randomly turning on and off not sure if this is a bug or if i need a new phone

It started Monday for me. Just shuts down or freezes. Rebooting the only thing that brings it back.

I dropped my iPhone 4S in water two days ago, but I put it in rice almost immediately. It was working fine yesterday, but now it won't stop turning on and off randomly. Like it would stay on for maybe 1-5 minutes, but then the screen will turn weird and the display starts to fade and then power off. Then it will just power on again, but only if it is connected to the USB and is charging.
Can someone please help? I don't have apple care or insurance, or whatever, so will Apple fix my phone if I go to their store (I don't mind paying, of course)?

By taking it to a third party repair shop, you have voided the warranty if you had one still, and now apple will not touch your phone. You should take it back to the repair shop that messed up your phone and see if they can refix it. Or you will need to buy a new phone.

How do i fix my iphone turning on and off by itself?

My iPhone's battery got stuck due to overcharging. When the battery drained out, i plugged in the charger and it would turn on until the apple logo appears and then turns off. This happens till the charger is plugged in. When the charger is plugged out it totally turns off and when i try to turn on it would'nt. How would i be able to fix this problem?

Kinda hard to say, not having your phone to inspect and not being one of them.

Restore first from a backup, and if needed as a new iPhone. When restoring from a backup, and subsequently syncing, no data will be lost. Restoring as new + syncing will lose all settings, app data and messages.
6. if restoring doesn't work, what recourse do I have?

When I have it plugged into the main power supply it only goes up to 3% of power and when I plug it into iTunes it runs out of power in about 2 minuites.

I'm having a similar problem with a Toshiba 46XV640UZ. The image turns on and off, randomly, intermittently, whether via live stream, DVR recording, or DVD output. Usually for 15 minute segments or longer. When the image is on, it is crystal clear--perfect. When it shuts itself off, it is black, totally dark, even when I shine a flashlight on it. The image goes on and off immediately-no lines, pixelation, or slow darkening or fading of the image. Whether the image is on or off, I have sound that is constant, so the power is definitely working and not going out. The TV is getting a constant audio signal, which tells me my cables are fine. There is no way the cables are being hit, or touched, based on where the TV is mounted and connected.
The image problem occurs via my Xbox and Cable Box. My Xbox is connected through video cables and my cable box is connected through a HDMI cable, so the problem is not isolated to one cable type or cable input. The TV is not a smart TV.
Anyone have suggestions or a similar problem? I'm seeing a lot of complaints here, but no responses from Toshiba representatives. Has anyone received any help from a Toshiba rep here? Or are we just providing them with free trouble shooting feedback concerns for their next generation devices?

from the information you provided i can't tell if it is a hardware problem or a software problem. I do have an idea though, try to press your home button and lock button at the same time.

Did you restore as NEW, not using backup at all?

Probably because it is physically failing. Make an appointment at the genius bar and let them have a look at it.

The problem is your friend's music does not belong to you. It is owned by your friend.
I'm afraid you cannot do what you are trying to do. Restoring the iPhone is what you would have to do.
In the future, put your music on the computer and transfer it to the iPhone, not the other way.
