Does your iTunes Hang or Does Not Start after install??

Instead of disabling or turning off ViruScan, Firewalls or Internet Security programs... go to the program's home site and look for way to add iTunes to exception list to run.
In my case I run Symantec Internet Security 2005. I went to Symantec Site, searched for iTunes and found the following link.

I then added iTunes to the exceptions list for my Personal Firewall.... voila.. iTunes works now no problemo.

JAVA_HOME is set to "/opt/java" in /etc/profile.d/jdk.sh. If you just installed the jdk, the behavior you're describing is expected as JAVA_HOME hasn't been exported.
Try logging out and then logging back in.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

ITunes 10.1.2 not starting after update

iTunes will not start after being updated to 10.1.2. Also experienced internet explorer being extremely slow. Tried to repair the installation, but same result. Uninstalled iTunes, restarted the computer, and internet explorer started working again. Reinstalled iTunes from Apple web page. Same result as after update. Everything worked fine before update, no errors during installation.

I have just had exactly yhe same problem.
Try this!
Go to the itunes support page and uninstall / reinstall Itunes + quicktime exactly to the troubleshooting instructions.
It takes some time and patience but it works on my Vista operating system. Windows 7 should also work as the instructions refer to both systems.

IPod service manager will not start after installing iTunes 10

iPod service manger will not start after loading iTunes 10. iPhone will not connect. I've removed reinstalled, wiped the registry reinstalled and deauthorized, removed and reinstalled from several different downloads. I have full permissions fo rservices and am administrator.. We now have three other units in teh office with the same issue.

Don't know about fixing PitStop. However, have you tried a simple repair on Acrobat. If Acrobat won't open you can do that from the Programs and Features menu (Add/Remove Programs in OS prior to Win7).

Windows 8.1 is not starting after installing Bluetooth driver

I cannot start Windows 8.1 Pro (64Bit) after enabling Virtualization ( because I need HYPER-V ) from BIOS settings.
It was perfect before installing RaLink Bluetooth Driver update.

HYPER-V and Bluetooth individually works fine. But laptop is not starting up when both are installed. Please help me.

InDesign does not start after installing it first time due to missing plug ins ("Zusatzmodule")

I was using up to now InDesign CS3, but I bought the upgrade to InDesign CS 6.
After installing the new version I tried to start it, but during the start it complains about missing plugins and stops.
So, I can not run CS 6.
The missing modules are: SVG Export.apln and Dynamicdosuments.rpln.
What can I do to make CS 6 running?

I have to admit, that unfortunately I dont understand the reply. I was uninstalling, running the Adobe CS cleaner tool for CS 6, reinstalling (as suggested in other entryies of the forum). No improvement.
Question A: Do I have to run the cleaner tool for all CS including CS 3? I am a bit afraid of side effects and have nothing running afterwards. Since nobody confirmed in the forum that this will help I dont dare to play around.
Question B: Coming back to your proposal, what do you mean by proper admin privileges? I am the only user on this laptop and never did something to any admin configurations.
Finally, I installed CS 6 on another laptop. This works. However, this one I dont want or can't work with for other reasons.

You haven't indicated if you have tried multiple DVD/CD's or just the one. Look under the "Apple > About This Mac > More Info.. > Disk Burning " do you see the Superdrive? If the system recognizes it but it doesn't work try a
SMC RESET

Wait 15 seconds.
Attach the computers power cable.
Wait another 5 seconds and press the power button to turn on the computer.

Oracle web tier install+config: opmn does not start after install

Centos 5 box.
After a silent install of web tier 11.1.1.2 opmn will not start. The installation was "complete" but I found some errors in the various log files.
When I try to start a process (for example) using opmn this error occurs in the log file:

The configuration of completed successfully.
Checking a screen shot of someone else's configure output theirs continues beyond
"Bootstrapping OPMN configuration files..."
and correctly generates the instance etc.
I have tried a reinstall, and also tried a generate a new instance using the silent config tool. Same errors each time.
Log also states;
Oracle Instance Home
                        Instance Home Size: 0 MB (or 40mb)
                        Available: 0 MB
. This varies between installs and configs but available is always 0. There is Gb's of space available in the directory and the user has write permissions.
Can anyone tell me why it is failing to correctly generate the wallet?

Solved. Oracle_home and Instance home must be subdirectories of MIDDLEWARE_HOME. MIDDLEWARE HOME and command to not install updates must be added to response file. Helpful to install and configure separately.

Apache does not start after installing the policy web agent

We get the following error when we start the apache webserver on linux which has opensso policy agent installed/configured to it.

Once I had an iAS 1.0.2.2 running without problems. However after installing Patch 7 for Forms (released 27 august 2001) I get exactly the same error messages as Pieter. I have tried starting apache as administrator, comment out mod_ose, set wv_gateway_cfg, but none seem to work. Please help.

Itunes will not start after installing 10.5 Windows DEP error XP

Have not found a definitive fix for this anywhere.. so will try posting again.
Having upgraded to itunes 10.5... now Itunes will not start. Just get Data Execution Prevention error, and closes. Using Windows XP. Have tried repairing itunes, removing it reinstalling, removing and reinstalling Quicktime.. (Quicktime works fine). Disabling DEP for itunes.. re-enabling doesn't make any difference either way. Tried different profile.
Please help!!

ITunes will not start after installing newest version

After installing the newest version of iTunes, I click on the iTunes icon and the license agreement flashes on the screen and disappears before I can click on the agreement. I am running Windows 2000 professional edition. Quick time will also not start. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, with and without firewall software running. Nothing seems to help.

ITunes or QuickTime will Not Launch after Install

I received my new iPhone 4 a few days ago & have tried & tried for the past days to make iTunes 10.6 work & also QuickTime 7.7.1. They both install but when I click on the desk top icon a few seconds pass and an Error Message appears for iTunes & QuickTime that says "iTunes or QuickTime has encountered a problem & needs to close". The "Error Signature" is as follows for the iTunes; AppName: itunes.exe AppVer: 10.6.0.40 ModName: gdiplus.dll ModVer: 5.2.6002.22509 Offset: 0002 edde. I have installed/uninstalled til I'm sick. I have done the control panel Add/Remove in suggested sequence & also removed any leftovers from iTunes and QuickTime from my registry; still no iTunes or QuickTime 7.7.1. The only QuickTime that will install & work is version 7.1.6. I am running XP Home Edition, Service Pack 3. I need iTunes desperately for my new iPhone 4 !! Please Help !!

Thank you soooo much for explaining the gdiplus.dll error I was receiving. Before doing your recommended sfc /scannow procedure I did a little more browsing & found the FIX !!! The reason for iTunes not opening was the fault of a CORRUPTED FONT !! It has taken me all nite to go through a gazillion fonts that I have installed on my computer on a trial & error basis but I did find the FONT that was keeping iTunes from not launching; Dr.PoDecorCyr.ttf , I started out by choosing the larger size Font Files making a new folder on my desk top & taking away & adding back to Windows Font Folder in the Control Panel until I found the culprit. I hope this info will help others. In Windows XP go to Start Menu to Control Panel to Fonts. Again Thank You Muchly !

Manages Exchange server health Service is NOT starting after installing EDGE role using Exchange2013 SP1+CU5 setup

I used Exchange 2013 SP1+CU5 to install Edge role on Windows server 2012 R2 workgroup machine
then after installation the service "Exchange server health Service" was not starting automatically or manually with the following error "Error 1075: The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion"
and in the Event Viewer I have this error:
Event Id: 7003
The Microsoft Exchange Health Manager service depends on the following service: MSExchangeADTopology. This service might not be installed.

The Exchange 2013 Edge Role has a reduced set of services compare to a CAS or MBX server role:
Active Directory Web Services
Microsoft Exchange ADAM
Microsoft Exchange Anti-spam Update
Microsoft Exchange Diagnostics
Microsoft Exchange Credential Service
Microsoft Exchange Health Manager
Microsoft Exchange Service Host
Microsoft Exchange Transport
Microsoft Exchange Transport Log Search
The above one was from Exchange 2013 Sp1. Not sure whether Microsoft Exchange Health Manager service has been replaced from CU5.
Just restart the edge server once again and ensure that you are able to see this service again in services console.

CSA : Cluster not started after installing CSA 6.0.0.209

After installing CSA 6.0.0.209 on Win2003 Server,
the cluster service is not started.
The server said that the network connection service is not started.
The CSA is registered in the Management Center.
And the group is in LEARN MODE.
What is the source of this problem?

First off, do you get any events from that machine in the csamc ? If not, does it solve the problem if you disable csa and try to start the cluster service ? If so, then you could have a deny rule that has no log (even though that is highly unlikely if you are using the default policies) Also what clustering software are you using, microsoft or some other 3rd party sw ?
