Doesn't always charge

My wife and I both have iPod touch 5. I can plug hers ion and it connects and charges right away. I unplug hers and plug mine on and it doesn't always charge.  In fact sometimes I have to press the actual connector up toward the screen before it will come on.

Not Charge
- See:

- Try another cable.
- Try another charging source if y have one
- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • My mac book air doesn't always charge

my mac book air doesn't always charge. The charger doesn't always light up. Please advise.

unlikely your charger is bad, rather it sounds as if your IO BOARD may be defective, perform a SMC reset and re-verify same.
    SMC reset
    Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.
If same contact Apple for full in shop diagnostic and possible parts replacement.

  • When I connect my charger to my MacBook Air, it doesn't always charge..., When I connect my charger to my MacBook Air, it doesn't always charge...

While it isn't every time, there are many times that connecting the MagSafe adapter to my MacBook Air 13(late 2010) will not start it charging. There isn't always a green followed by an amber charging light. Sometimes, it is magnetically connected with no charging happening at all. No lights indicating anything.
A jostling of the connector usually gets things going. Could this have something to do with metal particles in the MagSafe port of the MBA?

SYMPTOPMS: Intermittent charging, magsafe light not lighting. Wiggling the magsafe adapter while connected to the laptop can make the light turn back and even make it turn off again.
APPLES SOLUTION FOR MY LAPTOP: I purchases a 2011 Macbook Air 13" and I was having the same issues. After taking the laptop to Apple they determined it's not the charger but the magsafe connector inside the laptop that was coming loose and affecting the charging capabilities. Check to see if you can move the magsafe connecter that's on your computer. IT'S NOT SUPPOSED TO MOVE. The genius at Apple showed me how mine was moving around easily. If yours moves around, the part needs to be replaced or the screw inside the laptop that holds the magsafe connecter needs to be tighted. In my case, they replaced my entire laptop although the replacement is now showing the same symptoms again after 1 month of very careful use.
    Good Luck!

  • My iPhone doesn't always charge and the back is cracked and is falling apart. Can I get it replaced or trade it in for a better one?

I dropped my iPhone and the back cracked. immediately after that, it wouldnt charge fuly or at all sometimes, i'm having the same problem now, and the back of my phone is falling off in pieces. I would like ti get it replaced or trade it in for a new, better one. is that possible?

Take it to Apple, with some money, and ask if it is eligible for an out of warranty replacement.  They will not trade a new 4S for a busted 4. If you want a 4S you'll have to buy one.

  • HTC Incredible 2 doesn't always charge...now dead

I've replaced the battery within the last 2 months. The phone will charge a few times but then does not charge and the battery dies. I just recently replaced the battery but I still have the same issues. I've tried different chargers and cords with the same outcome. Eventually it would decide to start charging again but now it's been dead for 2 days with no luck. I would have a flashing orange light that would go away. Sometimes a steady orange light that would go away. I've put the old battery back in the issue still remains. What is causing this and how do I fix it?

It sounds like an issue with your USB charging port. It could be dirty, loose, or defective.
I just bought this phone a few days ago, while I was reading the reviews I saw a lot of people mentioning the phone stops charging after a year or so. There is a repair part you can buy for about $7 that might fix it. Search "HTC Droid Incredible 2 Charging Port USB Dock Connector Repair Part" or click this link to view it on Amazon. Keep in mind, if you take your phone apart this will void your warranty. If you plan on replacing it, you should also take a look at a how-to video and make sure you have the necessary tools.
    Hope this helps!

  • Charger doesn't always seem to connect to computer

    Hi,
I am having problems with my charger for my MBP. The green/orange light on the charger cord where it connects to the computer doesn't always light up when it is plugged in. This also means that it isn't charging sometimes. I have to take it in and out a few times or push with slight force on it for the light to turn on and for the computer to charge. I have a case on my computer but this isn't the problem because I have tried plugging the charger in both ways/directions and both ways have this problem. This computer is only a year old so I am worried.
    Thanks!

  • PB doesn't always start up/won't run on charged battery

I have a 15" aluminum PowerBook that I've slowly been bringing back to life after it had a full mug of coffee dumped into it. I cleaned everything out and it's working again, for the most part. However, there are a couple of unresolved problems. The biggest is the computer doesn't always start up. I've also noticed that it won't run on the battery alone, even though the battery is fully charged. When unplugging the computer, the screen goes dark but the computer is still making noise -- it's running to some extent. Any pointers on how to get things running again properly would be greatly appreciated.

If you're able to charge the battery while it's in the computer, and pushing the button on the back of the battery shows all the LEDs lighting up, that suggests that you have a logic board problem. There are only 4 components to the charging circuit: power adapter, DC-in card, battery, and logic board. If what you described is that you can hook the power adapter up and charge the battery completely in the computer, the only component left is the logic board.
While there aren't any tests I've found to test the charging circuit, have you run the Apple hardware test or either of the TechTool programs to test the system? Insert your original OS X disk that says 'AHT Version x.x' in small print on the label. Reboot holding the option key down, choose the Apple hardware test, and when prompted choose the extended test. Does that give you any errors?

  • HT4060 I have to wiggle the plug to charge my iPad and it doesn't always work

What is the possible fix for my having to wiggle the connector to charge my iPad, and that doesn't always work?

That's not normal. You can try another cable. If the issue repeats, then it's something with your iPad. If your device is still under warranty, take it in and have it assessed. If they determine that it's a manufacturer's defect, they can replace it, but if they determine it's 'abuse or neglect' then they won't.
If your device isn't under warranty you may be eligible for an out of warranty replacement.

  • Charging n85 by USB doesn't always work

When I connect my N85 to my PC using the USB cable, the phone doesn't start charging automatically. I have to unplug and plug again the cable 2-3 times to get it work.
Is there any issue about it?
I'm using Windows Vista, if it matters.
    Thank you

are you using the CA-101 usb cable that came with the phone? or a generic micro-usb cable? and how is your phone configured to connect when the usb is plugged in? pc suite? or mass storage? i would get some similar bug at first w/ my n85... sometimes plugging it into computer would not connect usb.. it would just say "charging" and even sometimes when i plugged it into wall charger it would say "usb connected in pc suite mode" or whatever. but i changed it to mass storage mode and it hasnt made a mistake since. the drawback is that when you are in mass storage mode and you connect to pc... the phone is locked out from the memory card so any apps installed to mem card are not available as well as anything else saved on mem card (photos, music, etc.)

  • Time doesn't always appear

The time under the received column doesn't always appear. If I click on the message, it shows but then goes away. It's very inconsistent. Repairing permissions and restarting doesn't change the behavior.

I'm guessing you did not carefully read your owners manual, did you? Unless you are not going to be using your computer for several days at a time there is no reason to shut it down. Your manual states:
_Putting Your MacBook Pro to Sleep_
*If you’ll be away from your MacBook Pro for only a short time, put it to sleep. When the computer is in sleep, you can quickly wake it and bypass the startup process.*
    AND
    _Shutting Down Your MacBook Pro_
*If you aren’t going to use your MacBook Pro for a couple of days or longer, it’s best to shut it down.*

  • Mail doesn't always open an email message on first try

    Hello Discussion Board,
I have an issue where Mac Mail doesn't always open an email message on the first try. This is happening on two of my Macs and I seem to remember this starting with the installation of Mavericks, but I'm not entirely positive about that. It may have been happening before Mavericks.
This issue does not happen with every message I open, and it seems to happen with random messages at random times, so it's tough to pinpoint exactly what triggers th problem.
I'm not sure if it's one of these non-default settings that I use:
    1) I keep the message preview window closed so that I only see the list of email messages. (I keep it closed by sliding the edge where the message list and the preview window meet, all to the right).
    2) I keep "Use Classic Layout" checked in my Mail Preferences.
    3) I keep "Organize by Conversation" deselected in the View menu.
I've tried restoring these defaults and I can't replicate the issue but obviously, having the preview window open eliminates the need to double-click the message to open. However, double-clicking the emails opens them right up. I'm still testing this, however, I just started testing and as I mentioned previously, I prefer to have Mail configured differently.
Has anyone else come across this issue and discovered the culprit?

Did you ever solve this problem?  I have the same issue on two different iMacs, one at work and one at home and on my macbook pro.  It's becoming irritating and I wonder why Apple can't be bothered to fix it.
