Doesn't recognize currently installed Photoshop 14. Alert box says I need to upgrade to Photoshop 14 or higher.

I am trying to install a Photoshop panel designed for Photoshop 14 and 15. We have Photoshop 14 (Photoshop CC) installed and I received an alert box stating I need to upgrade to Photoshop 14 or higher. I removed Photoshop CS6 from the computer and wonder if there are residual Photoshop CS6 files still on the computer. Should I remove the extension manager and reinstall it? How can I find all of Photoshop CS6 remnants and remove them? This Photoshop panel installed perfectly on my MacBook air also running Photoshop CC. This problem seems computer specific. Thanks

I wonder which version of Extension Manager you used. To support Photoshop CC, you have to use Extension Manager CC. Extension Manager CS6 only supports CS6 products. If you did use Extension Manager CC, could you see Photoshop CC in the left panel of Extension Manager CC? If only "Others" is shown there and you haven't moved or renamed PS installation folder, there should be something wrong in Product Configuration Database (PCD). You have to reinstall PS CC. It has nothing to do with PS CS6.

  • How to reinstall iphoto on my iMac.  it is currently installed but wont open and says i need to reinstall from appstore

my iphoto is not working and it says to reinstall from appstore but in the appstore it shows already installed and there is no option to reinstall. do I need to try to move my current iphoto to the trash? if so what about all my pictures

    To re-install iPhoto
    1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
    2. Download it from the App Store to reinstall It's on your Purchases List* there.
For older versions that have been installed from Disk you'll need these additional steps:
2a: On 10.5:  Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows:  In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
    /var/db/receipts/
    2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
    /private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
    3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
*Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

If you're not using chrome you can just go to adobe's website (http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/) and download the newest flash player.  You run the .dmg and then open the application, which updates flash.  With the latest version of flash there should be a preference pane within system preferences to allow you to change settings and check for updates.

You have a Retina MacBook Pro, it runs OS X 10.7 or 10.8.
It won't run Snow Leopard (10.6) and Rosetta is only for Snow Leopard to run older PowerPC processor based programs when Mac's used to have those instead of the Intel processors they all have now.
So that software your installing is incredibly old, if you bought it, return it for a refund.
Also you don't need a anti-virus for OS X, Apple installed one for all OS X 10.6.8-10.8 users.
If you need anti-virus to clean the Windows files of their malware before passing it on, then the free ClamXav does the job.

  • I've installed iPhoto11 and when opening for the 1st time it says that needs to upgrade my library and it is doing this since yesterday. Is this right??

I've installed iPhoto11 and when opening for the 1st time it says that needs to upgrade my library and it is doing this task since yesterday. Is this right??

No. Quit and try again. If that fails again,
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

Trying to get icloud, installed snow leopard, now it says I need OSX, but my processor isn't right for it. Is this possible? Do I need to buy a nw computer? will I loose all my mobile me storage?

You will lose the entire contents of your iDisk whether or not you migrate to MobileMe as there is no equivalent in iCloud and MobileMe will be terminated at the end of June. You will need to download any data which you don't have on your Mac already.
Snow Leopard is not compliant with iCloud and most of the facilities will not work. You can migrate from MobileMe to iCloud at http://me.com/move even with Snow Leopard: when asked to confirm that your Mac is running Lion just lie and say 'yes'. Of course you won't be able to access iCloud directly from your Mac.
If you have MobileMe mail set up to collect mail from external POP accounts you should cancel this before migrating, or you may find it still working in iCloud (where it isn't supposed to) and with no way of stopping it.
This will be the situation with Snow Leopard when you have migrated:
Your email, calendars, and 'Find my iPhone' will be migrated to iCloud. Contacts and Bookmarks cannot be migrated from a Snow Leopard Mac.
Your iDisk, together with website hosting and Gallery, will continue to work as before until next June.
Syncing of Dashboard Widgets, Dock Items and Keychains between Macs, and Mail Accounts, Mail Rules, System Preferences, Signatures & Smart Mailboxes between Macs & iOS devices, will cease altogether.
You will be able to access email and calendars on the iCloud website at http://icloud.com provided your browser is reasonably up-to-date.
You will not be able to sync contacts or bookmarks from a pre-Lion Mac.
You will be able to enter the server settings for email manually in the Mail application and access your email.
You will not be able to sync your calendars directly.
Some people have been able to set up calendar syncing by using the method detailed here - this is an unsupported hack and may not be reliable, and may stop working at some future point.
There appears to be no method of syncing contacts (though Address Book on a Mac can be synced with Google or Yahoo address books - I don't know how reliable this is).
There are a couple of third-party solutions which may be of interest.
BusyCal is an iCal-like calendar application with extra facilities: it can sync with the iCloud Calendar while running on Leopard, Snow Leopard or Lion. A single user licence (two machines allowed) is $49.99.
Soho Organizer can sync Calendars and Contacts with iCloud on Leopard, Snow Leopard and Lion. A single user licence (multiple machines allowed) is $99.99.

i hv iphone 2g and when i want to install skype it says it need more upgraded software .. so can i upgrade my 2g 3.1.3 software ??

there is no such thing as an iPhone 2G.  An origional iPhone can't upgrade any higher than 3.1.3.  The next model is the 3G, which can upgrade as high as 4.2.1

If your iDevice is using a version of iOS lower than 5, you will need to use iTunes on your syncing computer to perform the upgrade. Use the Apple link below as a guide for the upgrade.

  • I just installed Yosemite on my MAC. My PhotoTools pro won't work. Says I need to upgrade to Perfect Photo suite. But THAT won't work unless I have CS6. I am now running CS5. Do I have to purchase the new one or can I pay the $9.99 month?

It also says I need 8 GB of RAM and I only have 4 GB. How do I get more and how much would I need to buy? I know nothing about Cloud either.

Well, I'll try and answer. The upgrade to Yosemite more than likely broke the older software. I don't know much about Phototools and what OS it was meant to operate on, but you will have to discuss that with OnOne,
You have a choice to upgrade to CS6 from CS5 for $200 or pay $10 monthly for the Lightroom and Photoshop | Adobe Creative Cloud Photography Plan
But of course look at the  System requirements | Photoshop
You usually can open up your Mac and add memory. Check with Apple Mac Memory Upgrades From OWC. Easy Guides & Free Install Videos.
8 to16 GB is pretty common these days, get as much as you can.

  • TS3772 I've installed Quicktime but Itunes still says I need to install it, what should I do?

Yeah I've installed Quicktime onto my laptop but when i go onto Itunes and try to watch a video it says I need to install Quicktime what do I do?

First could you confirm your Windows version, XP, vista,or 7.
Could you confirm that your Quicktime works OK and that you have the latest version.
If so you may have a variation of an old error we used to see.
It is most common on laptops that are used at work and connect to a work network but it can occur in other situations.
If this is the problem you will need to edit the %Path% variable, but we need to know if this is necessary first.
In order to check this, type
    cmd
into your search box and click cmd under Programs.
For XP use the Run command to open cmd.
The black cmd window will open.
Next copy&paste the following into the cmd window and press return:
    echo %path% >documents\path.txt
I think for XP it will need to be
    echo %path% >"my documents\path.txt"
Unfortunately I don't have XP to check that this is correct.
If you can't get it to work, just type:
    echo %path%
And the path will appear on screen and you will have to work from that, but it is easer if you can do it the other way.
The first way will place the contents of the %path% variable in a text file called Path in (My) Documents.
You will need to check that each folder in the list actually exists.
In order to save time you can copy&paste each folder in the list into the address bar of Windows Explorer. You will get an error if the folder doesn't exist.
Make a note of any that don't exist and post back. Most commonly the thing you are looking for is a network location.
If you are having trouble with this you can paste the text file into your next post and I can take a look at it.

  • Trying to install turbo tax.  It says I need os x 10.6 or newer.  I have 10.4

I need some assistance.   I am trying to install turbo tax 2012.  I have been using it for years.  It says I need OS X 10.6 or newer.  I currently have 10.4.11.  There are not updates available. do I have to upgrade? or what other suggestions do you have?

What year, screen size, CPU speed is your iMac?
To run the H & R Block software, you need to upgrade your OS X to 10.5 Leopard.
Unfortunately, this is a pay upgrade.
We need your iMac specs to determine whether or not you can install OS X 10.5.
You need to find a source for the original black retail install DVD disc.
Unfortunately, these are hard to come by and will be more expensive than Apple's original $129 U.S.D. price.
    Try Amazon.com
Here's another site I am familiar with.
    Fastmac
This may be your only option if this version of OS X can run on your iMac.
If not, then you'll have to consider the option of a new or "newer" Intel iMac for the future.

  • How do I create more room on my MacBook Pro so I can install Snow Leopard?  It says it needs 5GB and I have 4.something.

How do I create more room on my MacBook Pro so I can install Snow Leopard?
I've only got 4.something GB left and it says it needs 5 GB?
Which then begs the question, will I be able to do anything with the computer.
I think I need to get some stuff off, but do not know where to look up what is taking up the most room.
I have an extra hard drive.
    I have iDisk.
I have a Time Machine, but it backs up one of my three Macs.
    Thanks.

A utility like GrandPerspective is a good one for seeing what is taking up space on your hard drive.
Video and photo files tend to take up a lot of room.
