Doesn't Recognize Scanner

I use Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and have for approximately three years.  My scanner is a Dell Photo AIO Printer 966.  Until last week, I had no problem scanning documents.  Beginning last week, I received an error message from Adobe 9 Pro that my scanner couldn't be found or was incapable.  My computer recognizes the scanner.  I've run repair for Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro.  I've uninstalled the program and reinstalled it.  I've run out of things to try.  Any suggestions?

10.9.2 doesn't recognize scanner in Canon MX725 (WLAN) after upgrade.
I've reseted the printing system. Printing works fine.
    Any Suggestions?

So after installing the ICA driver, did you try removing the MX725 from Printers and Scanners and adding again?
And is the MX725 still failing to appear under the Shared entry of Image Capture?
If it is not showing in Image Capture then open System Information (Applications > Utilities) and select Printers in the left column. The right pane will show information about the MX725. Please copy that information and paste back here for me to check.
You could also try installing the MX725 TWAIN scanner driver via link below. This download includes Canon's IJ Scan Utility, which will install in Applications > Canon Utilities.

  • Acrobat Pro on Mac OS X 10.6.2 doesn't recognize scanner

I recently installed Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.2.0 on my MacBook running OS X 10.6.2 (Snow Leopard). I can't scan from within Acrobat because it doesn't recognize my HP OfficeJet 4315 scanner. I can scan from the Apple Image Capture software just fine. I can edit documents just fine in Acrobat; I just can't scan from within Acrobat.
When I select "Create > PDF from Scanner" I get the following dialog box and no device is in the "Scanner:" dropdown list.
    Please help! Thanks.

Well, I had no idea what I was doing with the whole SANE/Twain thing (although I did read about the SANE project) but I did go ahead and install the Snow Leopard components for SANE as you suggested. This did not help. Now in Acrobat a scanner named "SANE" shows up in the list, but when I select it and try to scan I get the following error message:
I did not see my HP scanner in the list of supported scanners on the SANE site, but thought I'd try anyway.
I have not yet tried the other suggestion you made.
    Thanks for trying.
Sorry won't work unless you machine is listed, or type similar to yours is listed. in one of the components is installed in the system preferences go through that list and turn off all items except for your brand of scanner. And try again.
Also restart computer, and unplug and plug back in your scanners usb connection.
If that doesn't work. Then you have to go to Silverfast and see if they have a package for your Scanner. If so. You will have to pay for it. But is well worth it.
I never have understood which despite having Scanner in Acrobat praticaly since day one. They have never been good about scanner support in Mac anyway.

  • Photoshop CS5 doesn't recognize scanner

    Hi there,
I bought a new iMac G5 (OS 10.6.4) four days ago only to find Photoshop CS5 was not recognizing the scanner on my two year old Samsung SCX 4500 Printer/Scanner (the printer works fine). I downloaded the most recent Samsung scanner driver (1.0) and Photoshop still doesn't recognize it. Both Preview and Image Capture on the Mac recognize the scanner which enables me to scan and then upload to Photoshop, but that adds a step I'd rather avoid. Unfortunately it seems that a lot of people are losing printer/scanner compatibility when they upgrade.
    Any thoughts on a fix?
    thanks

  • Acrobat CS4 on iMac doesn't recognize scanner but Acrobat 6.0 does

New iMac Snow Leopard OS; Creative Suite CS4 Designer edition.
I purchased a new iMac with CS4 Designer edition (including Acrobat Professional) but when I tried to scan to Acrobat Professional it couldn't see the scanner and there were no devices visible. Luckily I still have the CS version of Acrobat (6.0) installed which DOES see the scanner, so I am able to scan to my Epson scanner using that software but I need to be able to scan into the CS4 version. It is not clear to me how to get the software to recognize the scanner.
Can anyone give me a clue how to fix this?
    thank you

You need a intel native driver. Otherwise it won't work in CS4

  • ColorSync doesn't recognize scanner

The Devices panel in ColorSync Utility shows no scanners, even though I have a CanoScan 1220U connected that I use regularly via the PhotoShop import plugin.
I'm trying to get started with color management and this has stopped me before I have really begun because I'd really like to get this scanner onboard; the color has been most unsatisfactory.
I have installed the profile provided by Canon in the correct folder and, indeed, it shows up in ColorSync's Profiles panel. But if ColorSync doesn't know the scanner is there, what good is that?
Any ideas would be most appreciated.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro doesn't recognize Scanner

And this happened out of the blue.  I've had Acrobat 9 installed on this new HP system for a few months and it's attached through our network to an HP Officejet Pro All-in-one, which it uses to print and scan.  All of a sudden about a week ago, Acrobat up and decides that it will no longer scan from this printer.  I've uninstalled the printer, the drivers and reinstalled them and everything.  Every program in Windows 7 detects the printer fine and prints to it with no problem, ACROBAT PRINTS TO THIS PRINTER, but when I go to Create a new PDF from the scanner, it tells me to choose which scanner I want and the only option is another scanner elsewhere in the office on the network.
How do I get Acrobat to acknowledge the scanner on this printer again?

I have just encountered the same problem. Anybody know answer? Linda

  • Adobe Acrobat NI Pro doesn't recognize my wireless scanner, a Canon MG5520, but it prints from the same MG5520. This is ridiculous!

Adobe Acrobat NI Pro doesn't recognize my wireless scanner, a Canon MG5520, but it prints from the same MG5520. This is ridiculous!

I just used the "Quick Menu" in Adobe Acrobat XI Pro after wasting hours several days when the SSID and Network key/password were already activated and the Adobe software claimed no scanner was available. . These Adobe user manuals are next to useless. Now I'm still dealing with this problem: "Save As was unable to find tables in the document No file was created." (i.e., from the pdf file I created using NI). Well it's obvious there are tables in the pdf, but so far I haven't been able to get a result to determine the intrinsic accuracy of Adobe's pdf to Excel capability.

  • Acrobat x pro doesn't recognize epson scanner

Acrobat x pro doesn't recognize my epson perfection 1670 scanner. Other applications recognize this scanner. What can I do?
All software and drivers are updated.

Twain Sane can be downloaded HERE.  Others have recommended it as well and it is a viable option if your scanner is no longer supported under Mountain Lion.
It is a bit of work to install and configure, but the developer says a preference pane is available and makes it a bit easier. Check out the site for instructions on how to install and configure it.

The Scan program that comes with the 4635 doesn't recognize the scanner. I can scan using Photoshop or Image Capture. The printer works fine.

Hello , and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! I see you're having problems scanning.  I would like to help! I would suggest deleting the printer from your print system, using this document: Uninstalling the Printer Software. Once you have deleted it, I would suggest verifying and repairing the disk permissions: About Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions feature. I would also suggest running your Apple updates:  OS X: Updating OS X and Mac App Store apps After the updates, I would recommend reinstalling the printer: HP Officejet 4630 e-All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Drivers Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. • Photoshop elements 13 doesn't recognize my Epson scanner

I have a Epson Workfoce 545 wireless printer/fax/scanner and newly installed Elements 13 doesn't recognize the scanner.  Do any of you in this community have a suggestion?

The scanner is NOT present in the network.  The "all in one printer" that the scanner is a part of  is listed, however.

  • Acrobat X won't recognize scanner

I recently installed Acrobat X on a Windows 7 x 32 computer. It recognizes my Epson RX-595 as a printer but doesn't recognize it as a scanner. I went through all of the troubleshooting tips with no luck. Any ideas?

Are you sure you have installed the TWAIN driver for scanner?
You can very easily verify this with the following steps:
    1. Go to C:\WINDOWS\twain_32.
    2. Do you see a folder or .ds file with the name of your scanner.
    3. If not, then you have only installed the printer driver and you need to install the scanner driver to get it working.
If you see that TWAIN driver is installed, can you please try scanning with some other applications like mspaint, word to see if this scanner is visible to other applications?

  • ITunes doesn't recognize either of my iPods

I downloaded the latest update recently and since then iTunes doesn't recognize either of my two iPod touches (4th gen), even though the computer does. My iPad (1st gen) is still recognized normally. I tried uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling it several times, and that didn't work. The iPods are recognized by iTunes on other computers. The computer in question runs windows 8.1, if that makes a difference. From the look of these forums it looks like I'm not the only one who has this problem. Please help.
