Doesn't sync my library with iPod... Help me please or I'll dye...

Hi, please please help me if you can. I was working all the summer and I've bought iPod nano for my money and... Firt it worked well and everything was going well but.. From Friday I cannot sync my iPod with library. I tried restore it, but it didn't help at all. Actually, the problem is, that if I download some file from internet and then I want to put it into my iPod, I can't. It doesn't sync it, without any error messege (it doesn't show any error messege). It syncs unly "official" CD's. For example, my boyfriend has sent me a song he sang for me, but I can't have it on my iPod. You can see my English is horrible, I've got the iPod in UK so I don't know how I will resolve this. I am just a woman, and this is complicated technical problem, so it's extremelly stressfull situation for me. Heeelp please!!!

Ok, so, basically... You have to have songs in your PC when you are syncing. Never ever upload the song to iTunes and then delete it because f*ing iTunes will not sync it to your iPod. That's it.

  • Can't sync music library with iPod Touch

I gave my iPod to my son. He erased my music library and put his on. He gave iPod back. I erased all his music and tried to reload my music library. I updated iTunes from Apple website. Could not successfully transfer ANY music.
I searched through discussions and found some suggestions. I restored iPod to original settings, removed everything.
Apps I originally had on the iPod and some new ones synced beautifully. Music library would not. Unclicked manually managed iTunes. Unclicked Sync all iTunes in library. Clicked APPLY where applicable. Uninstalled iTunes on PC and reinstalled. iTunes will not sync.
I cannot put a checkmark on all songs in the library. The checkmarks will only go so far down and then quit. There are too many to do that manually.
it has 59.42 GB capacity, 4.3.1 software version.
So what do I do to syn my music library? And what are the exclamation marks appearing to the left of the column for check marks? Sometimes they appear and sometimes not.
I would appreciate any help you can give me. I am at my wit's end. Thank you.

For anyone who might read my post and have the same problem, the above link, second option to try work like a charm. I have my music back. I had to go looking for it and clicking on one of the pieces to play it in iTunes worked. Not all the music was located right away but it was still findable.

  • HT1296 how do i sync all music with ipod on new computer

How do i sync all music with ipod on new computer

Connect the iPod and sync with iTunes the same way that you sync any iDevice with iTunes. If you are trying to transfer the music on the iPod into iTunes on the computer - connect the iPod to your computer and launch iTunes. Right click on the iPod name under the devices headings and select transfer purchases. That will transfer the purchase songs on your iPod into your iTunes library.
If you provide a few more details of what you actually are trying to do, it would be a little easier to provide you with the help that you seek.

  • Replacing iTunes library with iPod library?

replacing iTunes library with iPod library?
Can anyone tell me how I can replace my entire iTunes music library with my iPod music?

The transfer of purchased content to authorised computers has been introduced with iTunes 7, look under under File>"Transfer Purchases from iPod". A paragraph on it has been added to this article: How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer
The transfer of non iTMS content is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there's a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to your Mac at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
If you prefer something more automated there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve music files and playlists from your iPod, this is just a selection. I use Senuti but have a look at the web pages and documentation for the others as well, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    Senuti Mac Only
    iPodRip Mac Only
    PodWorks Mac Only
    iPod.iTunes Mac Only
    PodView Mac Only
    iPodAccess Mac & Windows
    YamiPod Mac & Windows
    PodUtil Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac & Windows
If your library is currently empty and your iPod is set to update automatically take care when connecting to iTunes. You can use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on a Mac hold down the Option and Command (⌥ and ⌘ Apple) keys. This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and it will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer. For the duration of the transfer change your update setting to manual so you can use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it: iTunes Keyboard Shortcuts for OSX
Whichever of these transfer methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync again.

    thanks

If you get any message about "Another User", an "iPod Service Error" alert appears, or “Please reinstall iTunes" appears, turn off the 'Fast User Switching' - even if no one else is using the computer (Win XP environment).
==>Start=>Control Panel=>User Accounts=>Change the way users log on and off ==> Remove the check mark from FUS.

  • My Ipod doesn't sync songs anymore, can anybody help me out with this?

Hi all. Yesterday i did a Recovery on my computer and that wiped everything clean off of my computer, including the Itune program that i downloaded. And now, every since i downloaded Itunes again, it won't sync songs into my Ipod anymore. When i would download a few songs into Itunes, I would press on the sync button a message comes up saying that my ipod is synced with another Itunes library and can only be synced with one at a time. This won't let me transfer the songs onto my ipod. When i tryed to sync my songs again another message pops up saying to 'erase and sync'. Meaning that in order for me to sync the new songs onto my ipod, then they are gonna erase all of my existing songs that is currently on my ipod already! I don't wanna do that. I thought about restoring my ipod but i'm afraid that that would erase all of my songs off of my ipod as well.  What do i do? Help would really be appreciated. Thank you.

Your iPod is designed to sync with only one iTunes library at a time.  It will recognize the iTunes library on the restored/rolled back PC as a new library.  If you sync the iPod with this new/different library, all content will be erased from the iPod and replaced with what is in the new library.  So what you will want to do is copy everything from the iPod to your new iTunes library on your PC first.
See this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering the different methods and software available to assist you with the task of copying content from your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes.

  • Help on syncing multiple calendars with iPod Touch 4g 64g

In our university, we use iCal with Blackboard. Also, our main *email* is Entourage - pretty sure it's the most recent version for Mac.
How can we sync the Entourage calendar with iCal, and be sure that they are all merged and 2-way functional for the iPod touch and laptops (I know for multiple computers we'll have to set up home sharing - for now let's just focus on the calendar syncing).
I have instructions for syncing Entourage with iPod Touch, and it's been recommended to use Google to sync with iCal (thanks llllass) but we don't want to use Google or MobileMe to get to iCal.  iCal is already built into the iPod Touch, as I'm sure you know.
Any advice on how to make this super simple?
    Thanks in advance.

My first suggestion is to try Stanza, as it is a much more configurable ebook reader.  You can use the
Calibre (ebook management/conversion utility) to transfer ebooks from your computer to your iPod Touch.
    <http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/30657/calibre>
Looking at iBooks on my iPod Touch, my font selection and font size are only present when I have an ebook open.  If I tap the center of a page, the top edge of the screen has
Library | Table of Contents | Brightness | aA (font size, and font selection) | Search | Bookmark
Where the aA icon brings up a control that has a small a and a large A.  If I tap on the large A, each tap increases the font size until it gets REALLY BIG.  Tapping on teh small a reduces the font size for each tap.
Landscape lock.  OK for the iPod Touch as a whole, you put the iPod Touch in the orientation you desire, then you quick double-tap on the home button.  This will bring up a list of your running apps.  Now slide the list to the right, and you will see music controls as well as on the far left a screen lock button.  Tap the screen lock button to lock your iPod Touch in its current orientation.  Unlock it later when you want your iPod Touch to be able to rotae again.
NOTE:  Stanza as an ebook reader, it has its own configuration control that locks Stanza into a specific orientation, independent of the iPod Touch orientation or the iPod Touch orientation lock.  Another reason I like Stanza.
Wallpaper.  I think you can only change it to something else.  Settings -> Wallpaper, then tap on the screen you want to change.  Now select a different Wallpaper from either the Wallpaper selections, or anything in your Camera Roll, or your Photo Library.

  • Cross Check Library With iPod?

    Hey Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to cross check your iPod library with your iTunes library. The reason I am asking this question is because I go to my friend's house and get music off of their computers, and now when I look at my iPod, it has 3976 songs. However, my iTunes library only has 3967 songs. I wanted to be able to do a quick check of what songs are not in my iTunes library.
    Thanks for all your help.
PS - No, syncing would not fix my problem for having the same on my ipod as that would erase all my songs on my ipod. Thanks.

I figured it out. If you've been on manual management on the previous version, when you download 7.2 you have to reactivate your manual management on the options list or your Ipod does not connect with iTunes. As simple as that.

  • Synced Google Calendar with Ipod Calendar, but what about the other way?

    Hello everyone,
I have a ton of appointments on my Ipod Touch calendar.  I decided to sync them with a brand new empty Google calendar.  I followed these steps I found on the web to add the Google calendar to the Ipod Touch:
Open the Settings application on your device's home screen.
    Open Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    Select Add Account...
    Select Other.
    Select Add CalDAV Account.
    Enter your account information:
In the Server field, enter [ google.com ]
In the Username field, enter your full Google Account or Google Apps email address.
In the Password field, enter your Google Account or Google Apps password.
In the Description field, enter the name you'd like to appear on the account.
Select Next at the top of your screen.
After you've completed setup, open the Calendar app on your device and syncing will automatically begin.
Now since that was done, new entries I add in Google Calendar show up on the Ipod Touch, but not the other way around.  Is there a setting option I missed?  I need to pre-populate Google from the Ipod first I asume.Thanks.

Unfortunately, the only solutions available require Outlook in order to work... The best, and the one I've decided on using, is SyncMyCal.com. There is a free version available that requires you to sync manually, but once you sync events into Outlook, you can sync them to your iPod touch.
With the 1.1.2 update for the iPod touch, which enables you to directly add events on it... you can set SyncMyCal to also publish events back to your Google Calendar.
I really wish this functionality was built in directly.
iTunes already supports syncing with Yahoo! Address Book... Considering how close Apple has been with Google as of late, it's hard to believe some sort of syncing plugin for gApps hasn't been introduced yet.

  • I can't sync my playlists with ipod classic or a new ipod touch.

I have been having problems with my iPod Classic in my car.  Colleague used his iphone with no issues. I reset my iPod classic to original factory settings but now when I sync my playlists with iTunes are not included.  Very strange.

I'm having the same problem with my 30GB U2 iPod. I used iSquint to convert my video, and it plays perfectly fine on my iTunes, but it just goes to a black screen when I try to play it on my iPod. The movie is in Mpeg-4 format, which is supposed to work on the iPod-- right?

  • Sync TomTom 910 with iPod playlist

Hi there, I posted this message before, but some thing went wrong I guess...
I recently purchased a TomTom 910 GPS car navigation system with a 20GB harddisk (about 10GB available). The TomTom manual says the TT can import iTunes playlists, but without any further info... Can anyone tell me how to do this? I have a playlist in iTunes which I use to sync my pod and I want to sync my TomTom with the same playlist. I have already installed TomTomHome etc. And will the TT accept mp4 files? The manual only mentions mp3.
    Thanks,
    Nick.

I have sat here for 4 days reading and installing everything I was told to install to be able to sync with my palm.  I am not smart about bluetooth or wi-fi. Geek squad came out and set up my wi-fi in my office. Can someone tell me or give me the A B C's of getting this thing to sync. I don't like the new phones that have everything on it. I love my palm because IT WAS SIMPLE TO USE AND SYNC.  As bad as the economy is I hate to have just wasted $300.00 on a palm that I cannot get to work. .  I have wasted alot of time reading and calling and installing and it still doesn't work. After about 8 hours today I got the desktop to download. No wonder palm is going under.  Help me please !!!!!!!
