Doesnt allow me to add songs! And error message: [-50]

its been at least a week since my ipod doesnt ALLOW me to add any songs, video or etc. i have an ipod video, the 30GB. i share the same computer with my sister and parents. theres 2 shuffles, one nano and my video. so we pretty much have all of our music on the same computer. recently, after dowloading the new itunes 7.1 it doesnt allow me to add music. at first it would say that it could find the original file or whatever, and then it tells me that it could be updated( im pressing apply...not update) and this weird number comes up: [-50] on the message.
im really frustrated!! even though i have space for like 7500 songs i only had near 350 songs, which is a good thing, but because i share this computer with other people, i could uninstall itunes, cause all their music might be lost. i dont mind my playlists getting deleted or whatever, but i really need to find a way to fix this! i also had at least 110 videos in it, but each of them at least 3 minutes long, theyre music videos.
i know some other people are having the same problem, but im not sure if anyone is getting the [-50] number on the message that appears, or if that number means anything.
please ivd gone through everyhting and im thinking on calling the phone line. any suggestions??

Okay. See if you can get the videos to play better in iTunes if you launch iTunes in safe mode.

Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router.
Reset the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings)
Restore the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Restore)

Were the photos taken by your new iPhone? If so, did you not import them off your phone to your computer (as you would any other digital camera) before the restore? If not, restoring wiped the data off the phone and your pictures are gone.

I am having the same problem. I have just tried this. Unplug iphone > open itunes > delete all music from itunes library > close itunes > re-open itunes > add music from original folder > plug in iphone > select songs > press sync > unplug iphone using eject button onscreen > checked phone .... still nothing in music folder on phone. On itunes the "On this iphone" tab the songs remain there but greyed out.

i have the same problem with my 3gs and tried to add my email acc+pass in the outgoing server but it got rejected.
just bin on the phone(45min) with my carrier support about this issue they are pretty much scratching there head, the settings i should use gets verified with no problems when i add the outgoung server, but still cant send mails.

This error occurs when the SLStore Folder is set to read-only. To resolve it, remove the read-only check from the SLStore folder (Windows) or give it read/write access (Mac OS). step in the link above.

Images with success and error messages

Hi,
I am using theme 20. I want to add a success image on all success messages and an error image on all validation failure messages. I can do this by putting img tag in messages individually. Is there an easy way by which I can make sure that all success and error messages are always displayed with a corresponding image without including img tag in every message?

Hi Bhavesh,
in page template there is Subtemplate region related to success, error and notification messages. You can put there your HTML tags and add some css class or image for every page using this template.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

Normally, when you connect via http, the browser doesn't check for site identity, so I don't understand what's happening there.
Do you have any security-related add-ons that force popular sites to use a secure connection, or claim to provide anonymous browsing?
Were you making the connection on your own network or on a public network (e.g., school, coffee shop)? If it was a public network, maybe the error indicates that your traffic was being intercepted???
Without hands on, this is a tough one to diagnose.

Look in your Home > Music folder. There should be an iTunes folder there and it should have a number of files and folders including one called library.itl You want to guide iTunes to that file. If you don't see that file or folder then in your next post you will have to be very specific as to what you do see or how you have your iTunes set up because that's where it should be according to default settings.

Before I started to resync calendars one by one as suggested in the troubleshooting article, I remembered something that came up in a sync when I first attempted : a 'which one do you want to keep' message about a repeating calendar event, which came up with three options, one from Calendar, and two from iCal on the phone. I deleted that event, then went through the calendar resync one by one, and all seems OK now.
In Music there is a way to find 'ghost' items that show up as grayed-out on the menus, so that you can try to reassociate or delete them. It would be nice to have a similar way to work with Calendar!
