Doesnt load OS, Random colored stripes appear

I just turned off my macbook, and when i tried to boot it back up, the apple "turn-on" noise played, the screen went white, as normal, but then nothing else happened. After about 10 seconds, i noticed that multi-colored, one-pixel thin stipes started to appear veritcally on my screen, as if the monitor was deteriorating or something. I panicked, and tried to turn off the book. Pressing the power button did nothing, so i had to pull the battery. Now every time i turn it on it does this. Any clues?

LOL just an update for you guys. They mailed it to the apple repair shop, replaced the cable that hooked the monitor to the comp, and sent it back. It worked. I was outside the apple store when i got the descision to test it just for the heck of it. I shut it off, and tried to turn it back on only to find that the same exact p[roblem was back. They're going to give me a brand new macbook tomarrow, and transfer all of my data/apps to the new one. A kind of bitter sweet ending. Also, how would they go about transferring data? Would they basically just copy and paste EVERYTHING on my HDD, or what? I dont know, this is my first mac. Technically its going to be my third, as the first macbook i got had a 2 inch gash in the screen, so i traded it in for this one, which is having this problem. Thanks apple. I really appreciate it.

  • Display software glitch? random colored squares appearing on interface

    Hi -
I've never seen anything like this.  There are numerous small squares displaying on the OS (desktop, dock and icons).   There's very little rhyme or reason to the patterning.  They are there upon starting the computer and remain in place until shut down.  On restart, they take on a different arrangement, but they stay in the new arrangement until another shut down.  Super bizarre.
I CAN capture them with a screenshot:
Any ideas?  This is a MacBook Pro 8,2 running 10.6.8, software-updated.  I ran AHT but nothing the matter on the hardware side (corroborated by the fact that they appear in screenshots)...
I'm going to run a few more diagnostics and then probably upgrade to Yosemite - but it would be nice to know if this has been seen before.

By thousands, if not tens of thousands of users. I have the same model as you, and since I'm still under AppleCare, I had my logic board replaced by Apple: and that 'fix' solved my problem for a year now. But others haven't been as lucky - expired warranty and having to replace up to 3-4 logic boards. Others have also had a 'BGA reball' which has worked for some, not all, though.
Take a look across the thread started in February of 2013 and see if you've problems similar to the ones you've posted -> 2011 MacBook Pro and Discrete Graphics Card.
If so, look at the few options. I know that mine will fail again one day and I'll then decide whether to reball or not.
    Good luck,

  • Strange color blocks appearing in transparency layers

I'm getting random color blocks appearing in a layered PSD file. Doesn't appear when the same file is opened on another machine. Color blocks move and change location and density. I created the original file and have worked in it previously (not today) Almost looks like video card issues. But doesn't happen in other programs besides photoshop? Anyone had similar issues?
Running CS2 on a Dual 2.3 G5 with 4 gb memory. Plenty of HD space.

This is the boilerplate text I use in connection to saving to a network (please NOTE the part where it explains that normally, it does work, but that it is impossible to troubleshoot someone else's network remotely, and that's why it's not supported by Adobe):
If you are opening files over a network or saving them to a network server, please
    cease and desist immediately
in the event you are currently experiencing problems with one or more files.
Working across a network is not supported.
    See:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/322391.html
    Copy the
CLOSED file from your server to your local hard disk, work on it, save it again to your local hard disk, close it, and copy the closed file back to the server.
Of course, the fact that Adobe does not support working across a network does not necessarily mean it won't work. It should.
Adobe's position is that there are too many variables in a network environment for them to guarantee that everything will work correctly in every network, especially given the fact that if something does
not work properly, it's probably the network's fault, and Adobe has no way of troubleshooting your network.
If you can't work locally, you are on your own, and if something happens, you're on your own. If you must work from a server, make sure your network administrator is a competent professional.
When problems arise, a lot of valuable work can be lost.

  • My Macbook starts up, goes to the white screen with the gray apple, the little loading sign loads, and color wheel appears, and DOES NOT STOP PEIROD!

My Macbook starts up, goes to the white screen with the gray apple, the little loading sign loads, and color wheel appears, and DOES NOT STOP PEIROD!
Even when I restart, shut it down; or when it runs down to no battery, when I plug in the power cord for a while, it loads up to the same stinking screen!
                                                      PLEASE HELP ME!

Restart the computer and immediately hold the option key down.
If the computer boots and you see two hard drive icons, use the arrow key to select the Recovery drive, and press Return.
You will get to a screen that looks like the image here:
    http://www.apple.com/osx/recovery/
Select the fourth item and press Return.
In Disk Utility, select the hard drive in the left column, then First Aid, then click on Repair Disk.
When that is done, quit DU and restart the computer.

I just bought a 23' for my PC.

When the screen should be black on startup, it appears a lot on colored stripes and light instead. When the windows os appeares, the screen gets kinda out of focus. Sometimes the screen turns it self on and off like there is something wrong with the signal.
If I turn on the screen after windows had loaded, everything works perfect.
im going to buy a new grapich card soon with a new pc, but i dont know if this is a graphic card/signal problem or a mailfunction on the monitor..
If its not anything wrong with the monitor will theese signal errors damage it?

  • 0FI_GL_14 Doesnt load Document num 970000xx series

    Dear All,
I have an issue regarding to the FI_GL_14 extract.
It doesnt load the Asset related douments which get posted via a program outside the standard Asset Module(not in a usual manner). The records appear in the FMGLFLEXA table in SE16, but when I do a INIT or Delta into BW it wont load the 97000xx series of documents.
    ECC6
Infopackage Load parameter are FISCAL YEAR
When I do a full load with Doc number selections 970000xxx-9799999xxx, it loads the data  correctly.
My question is is there any problem with the extractor or do I need to do some setting??
Any help would be higlhy appreciated.
    Thanks
    Rao

    Hi Suman,
    Thanks for your reply!
I looked at the transformations and its all good.
The data doesn't come into BW PSA in the first place, so there is something wrong with the 0FI_GL_14 extractor on the R/3 side which fails to pick 97xxxxx series documents.

  • Display problem - horizontal stripes appear sometimes

I've got display problem. Horizontal stripes appear sometimes (randomly?) on movies or just desktop and stop when I change screen resolution to other and switch back to 1080p. It only happens with my iiyama xb2472hd via hdmi. Everything is fine using Windows. I've tried other monitor via hdmi and the problem doesn't occur.
Any ideas how to find source of problem?
    Here is video:
    http://youtu.be/dV2d44njQXg
    My hardware:
Iiyama XB2472HD + Lenovo y580 which is using Intel HD Graphics 4000 as display device

After months of having this problem I realized that it occurs only with that monitor (Iiyama XB2472HD but probably others too) when I turn it off and than on (after some time) while Arch is still running...
Common situation: I lock the screen in KDE than turn off the display using capacitive button on the device. When I come back after few hours and turn it on the stripes appear. Switching to other screen resolution for a while makes it fix.
Could it be some synchronization problem or something like that?
Have someone any idea how to debug it ?
I believe that someone (kernel developers or Iiyama) made some bad assumptions while implementing HDMI standard...

  • Colored circles appearing into view using an expression instead of keyframes?

Hello and thank you for your time,
I'll explain this as simply as I can,
I have a comp where a satelite is orbiting the Earth (the Earth is my comp space). The Earth is also in rotating but much slower. The satelite is one comp, and the Earth rotating is another comp. The orbiting satelite is looped, the Earth comp is rotating is looped - all is good there.
Everytime the satelite makes a complete orbit around the Earth, at a specfic point on the comp space of my choosing, I would like to add a colored circle. So it would look like that circle appears into view.
So the colored cirlce would appear into view, onto the comp (Earth) and follow the slow and gradual rotation of the Earth as it moves from left to right. The satelite would continue to orbit fast.
However I would like to perform this action of "add coloured circle onto Earth" perhaps 100's of times and at specific points.
The most important challenge here is : how can I perform this action using expressions so that I do not have to keyframe hundreds of colored circles appearing into view one at a time?
The second important thing is : how can I position these colored circles in a specfic pattern laid out over the Earth and not in a random fashion?
    Thanks again!
    D

Simply add the circles in the 2D texture or a separate comp synced to your Earth and make it a spehjre by using yet one more instance of CC Sphere. The timing could certainly be worked out using expressions based on the longitude/ latitude coordinates vs. angle, but that's gonna be more than copy&pasting 3 lines of code on a forum. If you can#t do it, hire someone or simply bite the bullet and hand-animate.

  • Lightroom 5 color labels appear dark causing mac pro monitor(s) to go black, have to restart, get a kernel panic os 10.7 5

I have a Mac Pro 12 core, with a Nvidia Quadro Pro 4000 video card. I have been using lightroom with this video card since 2011 without a problem. I updated to os 10.7.5, which apple says it is the latest f  and now when i use lightroom (after about 15 minutes),  my monitor goes black, which i am sure is a video card issue which involves lightroom settings, and i have to restart my system. After restart I get a kernel panic report. I unistalled lightroom, and had no crashes. I reinstalled it and i started to get computer crashes again. (not lightroom crashes but computer  -) When i open lightroom, the color labels appear saturated and much darker than usual. I took a screenshot www.jlanceimaging.com/lrscreenshot.jpg.
Since updating to 10.7.5 i have had this issue with lightroom and the video card.
I also went into photoshop an unchecked the graphics processor but still got the crashes.
and last;y, i opened up lightroom 4 and had no problems

You don't say what, if anything, you have done to test, resolve or rule out causes, so you can always assume hard restarts, freezes, and not safe shutdowns will make for more problems (corrupt files, file system, directory, etc).
Running Apple Hardware Test; Reset SMC; repairing your drives; ruling out cables, controllers, external devices, even drivers for printers and other devices.
If you are on a UPS, it should be 1000VA or larger (1300-1500VA). If there are other devices and you could be exceeding the load on circuit breaker, also worth looking into and sometimes requires adding a new circuit line.

My IPad has one half of the screen with vertical multi colored stripes and the other half is normal.  Has anyone had this problem and if so is there a solution?

You could have a hardware issue, but try this and see if it helps.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • When I convert a Pages document to pdf black stripes appear on two of the images, how do I get rid of them?

I've made a catalogue in Pages, but when I convert it to pdf two black horizontal dotted stripes appear on two of the images.
The images are two rectangular figures I've put in filled with solid blue color. They're not there in the Pages, only when converting to pdf.
How do I get rid of the stripes? I need to use the catalogue in pdf format to send out, but the stripes are very visible whatever I do.

The solid blue figures are they just rectangular shapes with the color specified in the Color Picker?
Or did you fill them with an image?

  • Mpeg2-dvd render color stripe on right side

When I render HD720p video to mpeg2-dvd (23.976) I end up with a thin color stripe on the right side of the output video.  The stripe usually appears wherever I have a crossfade between images/videos.  How can I solve this problem>

    Thanks Ann,
I have not had this problem since upgrading to CS6.  This is my 40th project and the only one with this problem, so far.  I've check and rechecked everything and the compositions/setting, etc. are consistent from project to project.  All comps and source files are 23.976.  No scaling was used.
As you suggested, the issue is with the crossfade.  Unfortunately, I cannot always overlap the clips because of the audio portion (I need to crossfade the video only). These are people interviews where I've had to edit out a short segment (say 7 seconds), then rejoin the clip by butting  then together to reconstruct the audio.  Any ideas for thIs?
    Thanks again,
    Steve

  • I have vertical colored lines appearing on the Mini Ipad screen

I have vertical colored lines appearing on the Mini Ipad screen

I had the same problem with my first gen ipad mini. The solution was not  to do a hard reset, but instead to push the sleep/off button until the  red slider appeared, then slide to OFF. Wait a few seconds then push the  sleep/home button until the Apple logo appeared. The lines were gone.  I  called Apple Support and they wanted $19 to troubleshoot over the phone  and $99-$199 to bring to the nearest Apple store. This may not be a  permanent fix, but it resolved the issue. I purchased my ipad mini from a  local electronics store in May of this year. Believing it to be new and  still under warranty I called the AppleCare store and discovered that  it had "previously" been purchased in November a year ago and was no  longer in warranty. As stated, I've had the device since May and it has  worked wonderfully until today when I turned it on and it had colored  vertical lines displayed on the screen. The lines would change color at  times and even became a solid black stripe. The strange thing was that  when taking a screen shot the lines were not noticeable and didn't show  up on the picture. The Customer Care support tech told me to search  other display issues. On one of the support threads it had something to  do with videos/video apps and that is where I saw to do the SLIDER OFF.  It worked even when the hard RESET had not.

  • Colored stripes on my screen

Problem with Mavericks. Various colored stripes on my screen. They disappear after a restart but they come back after some hours.

This sounds like an issue with your display. The next time they appear, take a screenshot. If they do not appear appear on your screenshot, it is display related. If they do appear on your screenshot, it is related to your graphics processor. I highly suspected the former. Both are hardware issues and both are pricey fixes out of warranty, but a faulty display is cheaper to fix than a faulty logicboard. Best of luck.

A white space (bar, border, stripe) appears in the rightside of the play window. Some slides only so it appears to flash. It shows up in the preview as well as SWF output, but not in the design mode/window. The space varies in width up to ~.2 in. wide and as tall as slide. It is beyond the play/control bar but on top of the thick border I've added. The previous two projects didn't do this.
