I came across your post about the Notebook, and wanted to assist you! I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion x360 Notebook and Screen Rotation not working after an update to Windows 10. Here is a link to configure the touch display to identify your screen as a touch screen. The document is for Windows 8 but the procedure is the exact same troubleshooting.
Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system at the time of purchase or that need updating. If your computer is having problems finding and installing operating system updates, try using the Windows Update Troubleshooting tool to fix the problem.Here is a document that shows how to update drivers that are not working correctly with Windows 10.I hope this helps. Is there a lock symbol at the top of the screen next to the battery indicator ? If there is, then depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (rotation lock or mute notifications), then you can lock/unlock the rotation by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad above the volume switch, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. If there isn't a lock symbol then try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

I venture to say the recipient is a Windoze user and if so, state of the art Windoze ignores or doesn't recognize photo orientation data that is included with a photo's EXIF data.
There are 3rd party photo viewing apps that provide for this but not incorporated with Microsoft software.

Double tap your home button to bring up the most recently used apps (task bar). With your finger hold it on any of the those apps until they all start to jiggle. Each app will now show a in the upper left corner. Touch the minus on the Mail App to fully close it. Touch your home button once again to stop the apps from Jiggling, then again to get back to your home screen.
I would then Reboot your iPad: Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time for at least 10 seconds (ignore the red slider to shut down) until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons and your iPad will restart.
Try the mail app and see if you can navigate again.
If neither option helps, it sometimes helps to delete the mailbox, then reinstall it.

Lightroom Imports Photos Upside Down

I just started using Lightroom to import my photos directly from my camera. It worked fine for the first few times, but now it is reading all of my photos upside-down.
XP's Camera Wizard correctly reads the orientation from the camera, so I think this is something specific in Lightroom. I've checked the settings, but didn't see anything about orientation.

After installing Lion my time machine using a Time capsule backups take a very long time, particularly indexing the back up, does any one know why and a fix?

I have installed Lion over Snow Leopard and noticed a marked increase in the time it takes my time capsule/time machine to back up. It seems to spend a very long time indexing the back up. Does any one know why and more importantly is there a "fix"?

The first index with Lion takes a very long time. Could take over 10 hours. You just have to wait. You can see the progress by opening Console and entering backupd in the search box

Hi:
Please click on the devices in the device manager. Then click on the details tab. In the properties drop down list, select the second item (Hardware ID's). Post the top string of characters you see for each device.
Those will identify the model devices you have and I can try and find the drivers for them. Is it Windows 7 32 or 64 bit you have installed?

Re: The second photo on the right.
When it is viewed on the computer (Mac Pro, Mac Mini, via Safari, Firefox, Chrome, Opera) it is fine.
When it is viewed on the iPad (original, no camera), it is upside down.
It stays at the wrong orientation regardless how the iPad is rotated.
This does not happen with all photos on this site.
Any ideas?

Cameras can embed orientation data into images so that display/editing software can automatically show them the right way up. The second (and third) images would both appear to have been rotated without amending the orientation data so that the iPad sees them as being "upside-down" and corrects. I downloaded the full size original of the second image and Picasa also displays the image upside-down. Under properties it gives Orientation: Rotated 100 Degrees.
Now we know why, there is the separate issue of whether or not the iPad should obey or ignore orientaion data for images rendered as part of a web page. It certainly leads to an inconsitency with other views of the same page.

I think that this is a philosophical question. I, for one, hold my iPad in landscape mode with the Home button on the right-hand side and in portrait mode the Home button is on the bottom.
