Dolby 5.1 output in iTunes success

I've read alot of articles about how itunes doesn't seem to support AC3 Dolby 5.1 output.  The trick I found is that if the movie you're trying to view has two audio tracks, the 2ch stereo one needs to be deleted.  I was trying to simply change output from 2ch AAC to the 5.1 AC3 and playback would freeze, or itunes would crash.  If I deleted the AAC track with Quicktime Player 7, saved and reopened the video with itunes, it would play fine in 5.1 AC3 audio with no other audio options.
My output in the Audio MIDI Setup is set to, Built-in Digital output, 48000.0Hz, 2ch-24bit integer.
This is working on my 2008 Mac Pro through the optical output to my Yamaha RX-V663 receiver.

Oddly enough I tried this with AC3 2ch audio and it doens't work.  Only seems to work with 5.1, in case you were wondering.

Yes, you should be on Quicktime version 7.7. by now. Have you ever used Software Update?

Had iTunes successfully installed on my computer (Windows XP) for some time. I can't access it now.
I keep getting the message -

    HELP!

C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\CommonFiles\Apple\AppleApplicationSupport\icudt46.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or contains an error.
Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. Head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post. (Although the procedure is for Vista and 7 and you've got XP, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things.)

  • ITunes successfully syncs iPod with no errors, but nothing shows up on iPod

I plug in my new 80g iPod to by synced, and iTunes "successfully" syncs the iPod.
I look on my iPod to see if the songs were transfered and my iPod is still completely blank!
So I plug in my iPod again to see if I can find a problem, and the "Capacity" bar on the bottom of the iPod screen in iTunes shows all my music and video file space as 'Other' data.
    What is going on here?
I tried to restore the iPod and the same thing happens.

    Hi!
I got the same problem since today.
My Ipod contains 74,37Gb in total and Itunes says 56,6 PHOTOS, 61,66 OTHER and 12,66 FREE SPACE. But this afternoon I saw I had about 700 Mb free space. I don't know what happened today, but I can only see the PHOTOS on my Ipod, no music and no video's.
    Can't find the solution...
    Best regards,
    JJ

    Hello,
Have you tried running MSconfig on your computer, this is what I have done in the past to rectify the issue:

  • Input file should be deleted only after the output file is successful.

    Hi Experts,
Could you pleas solve the below issue.
In  a file to file scenario, the input file will be picked from a directory location and after processing output file will be placed in the output directory location specified in the receiver communication channel.
In the sender communication channel for the scenario mentioned above, if the processing mode is given as delete, the input file will be delete as soon as the file was successfully read by the adapter, but this will not ensure that the file processing is complete and the output file is being created.
If we have a scenario in such as way that the input file should be deleted from the input folder only if the complete process is successful and the output is generated. how can we achieve this functionality?.
And one more thing if we got the successful output the output file should be placed in one folder. and the if the output file is having errors it should be placed in other folder.

    Hi,
In Receiver communication channel I have used the below command in Run Operating System
.And I have kept the processing mode of sender communication channel as test.
    cmd.exe: /C "del /Leela/test.xml"
You are running the comman line program configured in the receiver File Adapter, but in command line you mentioned the Sender File Folder , So i guess it's not getting processed.
    Try this:
Try to run the command line in the Sender File Adapter Side
"Place this in " --> Run OS Command After Message Processing.
Hope this would work and get in parrallel with u r requirement.
    regards
    Srini

  • What is sufficient privileges? what is error code 80070216? why am I told to uninstall and reinstall when I get an error msg AFTER it says itunes successfully installed?

Can anyone help me? I don't know what happened to my itunes. I opened it up, purchases a lot of songs, plugged in my ipod ... nothing.  This was about 2 weeks ago. Sense then I've followed the sets provided; uninstalled everything apple related, "tried" reinstalling itunes, now I have "No Entry Point found. please uninstall itunes and reinstall."  This message comes up AFTER it says intunes was successfully installed.

To add on, I checked out other advise and just did as suggested; uninstalling mobile support, etc. then reinstalling itunes (again). Still says Congratualtions! Itunes was successfully installed but when I try to open it, "No Application Support found. Please uninstall and reinstall itunes."

  • Can't download itunes successfully

I recently prchased a new PC with Windows as the operating system.  I downloaded iTunes from firefox and the d/l was successful but when I tried to open iTunes I received an error message saying, " Apple Aplication Suport was not found.  Apple Application Support is required to run iTunes. Please uninstall iTunes, then install iTunes again.   Error 2 (Windows error 2)"  So I uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled it using Firefox again.  Same problem so I thought maybe it had something to do with the browser so I tried downloading from Google Chrome and once again, same error message.  Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • Can you redirect the audio output of iTunes via Apple TV?

I currently have iTunes running on Windows XP with an Airport Express connected to my home stereo. I toggle the iTunes audio between my PC and the Airport Express via the iTunes speaker setting. With Apple TV, will I be able to toggle the audio output from the Apple TV interface?
    Thanks,
    Chaaad

No, you can use AppleTV like an Express to have audio playing in iTunes relayed to it, but you can't play something on AppleTV and direct the output to the Express.

  • Using procedure output parameter in success message

I have a page process which calls a database procedure with 2 output parameters.
The source for my page process looks like this:
    DECLARE
       --variables to hold output parameters
       matched_count NUMBER;
       unmatched_count NUMBER;
    BEGIN
       USP_MATCH_PROCESS (matched_count, unmatched_count);
END;I'd like to be able to display the value of the 2 output parameters in the Process Success Message for the process.
Is there a simple way to do this or do I have to create hidden page items and populate these from the source code, then reference these? Or even better, can I reference the variables in the source directly from the Process Success Message?

    Hi,
You can use something like this :-
    apex_application.g_print_success_message := matched_count||' '|| unmatched_count;

  • Loss of sound output and iTunes

had a power cut yesterday and not sure if its a conincidence but can no longer get iTunes to work.  hitting the play button has no affect.  Looking at the sound system preferences it shows no output devices and the mute button is ticked and greyed out.  I can do nothing to reverse this.  It's as though the system cannot detect the inbuilt speakers of the iMac.

  • Setting default audio output in itunes

When I open iTunes 7.0.1, it changes my audio output preferences to a USB headset I have plugged into my computer (and which I prefer to keep plugged in at all times for using Skype). Is there any way to make iTunes default to the regular line out, built in audio, without disconnecting my headset? Every time I open iTunes now, I have to reset the system audio preferences to line out.
    Thanks for any advice

I figured out my problem. I have a plug-in called iWow installed in iTunes, and it was opening defaulted to headset sounds. Back to normal
