Dolby Home Theater v4 not working on Thinkpad Edge E531

After updating to Windows 10, Dolby Home Theater V4 stopped working on my E531 Thinkpad laptop. I tried uninstalling the old version and reinstalling the latest version. No improvement. The sound is not as good as before now. Please fix this asap.

  • Dolby Home Theater v4 not working after upgrading to Windows 10

Hi there, I just upgraded to Wndows 10 Home from Windows 8.1; everything went smoothly except for the fact that Dolby Home Theater v4 does not work. I had to reinstall it using the .msi file found in the Realtek Audi folders. I chose v4 over any of the other versions because I like how I can tune the equalizer to my liking and different uses. Anyways, the regular audio works and Dolby is turned on but there is no activity appearing on the equalizer and my music does not change once adjusted. Had this problem when doing an optional audio driver update in the past when I was running 8.1. I do not have the option to rollback the driver after upgrading to Windows 10. Does anyone have a solution to this issue or know what the correct Realtek driver is to make Dolby work? This is one of my favorite features of my laptop and I really want it up and running again! Thank you in advance! JakeStiebs My unit: Lenovo Ideapad Z580 running Windows 10 Home with Realtek Audio Driver 6.0.1.7535

one more thing. I was not able to download cleanup tool/online scanner too. but may be it has something to do with my internet bandwidth. and other strange thing i observed is that before restart i was not even able to turn off all security features. but after restart that problem seems to be corrected.

  • Dolby Home Theater v4 Not Working on Windows 10

Hi. Can you help me what to do to make my Dolby operational again after upgrading my Ideapad U310 to Windows 10? I had done several troubleshootings alreay like restarting my PC, uninstalling Dolby and install again but still it is not working. Thank you

    Hi all
Could you try out DAA or DHTLightweight from my link and just install the Dolby software without overriding your Realtek Driver? I am not sure whether would it work, but worth a try. I have tried on Y460, W520 and G560 with great experience.
If the older Dolby software does not work with your existing Realtek driver, you could install the DAA or DHTLightweight with their driver to overwrite and see how it goes.
    Thank You

  • Dolby Home Theater v4 Not Found

I am having problems with Dolby Home Theater v4 when I installed the Windows 8.1 update. The program can run, but it doesn't give any response. When I am playing music or do any other thing with sound, it makes no difference. What should I do?
    Specifications:
    Windows 8.1 64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor
    Lenovo Ideapad U530
    Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4500U CPU @ .80 GHz
    RAM: 8.00 GB
Above the Intelligent equalizer, there is supposed to be a 20 bands spectral modifier and visualiser.
    How do I fix this?

More often than not when a device isn't working it is because the driver has become corrupted. Re-installing a fresh copy should help

  • Dolby Home Theatre v4 not working with windows 8.1

    Hello,
I have recently downloaded and updated my laptop to windows 8.1 and suddenly dolby home theatre v4 has stopped working. Battlefield 3 has also begun to crash randomly. Could you please help me?
    I have a Lenovo ideapad U410 intel core i5 3337U 1.8GHz Processor, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD.
    thank you
    Adam

    hi Adam,
    Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
    Can you try the following:
    1. Uninstall Conexant HD Audio and Dolby Advanced Audio v2 (if applicable) under the Control Panel > Programs
    2. Reboot the PC and re-install the Conexant Audio Driver for Windows 8.1 (this contains the sound driver+dolby)
    Conexant Audio Driver
          Windows 8.1  (32-bit, 64-bit)
          Version 8.65.3.53
After installing, reboot the PC and observe.
As for Battlefield 3, have you tried running the game in compatibility mode? If you're getting Direct-X errors, check this thread.

  • Dolby Home Theater/Dolby Digital Plus not working

Update: Issue gone today. Dolby working properly. Still using same drivers. (Win 10 64-bit). How? I don't even know. edit: I think turning off "Hey Cortana" fixed it for me.

    MattSharp ha escrito:
Dolby Digital Plus has miraculously started working, though it looks very different to the last time I used it (it used to be a lot smaller and said Home Theater rather than Digital Plus) but its better than nothing.Hi, DDP is not DHT, dolby provides a separate software for each and thats why it does not look the same.I read on the net that DDP was not as good as DHT, but I don't know... Anyway I´m on a V5-552G and I have had these problems before with a clean install of 8.1 and again this week with the upgrade to W10. Let me tell you what worked for me but before we begin just let me say that Dolby Home Theater has always given me problems and will sometimes just turn off and other times the icon in the taskbar would go away or just not respond. I´m hoping it's more consistant on W10 though I dont see why it would be. The only driver that ever worked properly with Dolby was the driver for windows 8 (not 8.1). the new driver on the Acer site for winodws 10 did not work either. So the one I´m using and I´m listening music to with DHT while writing this is: Audio_Realtek_6.0.1.6878_W8x64_A To get dolby to work: 1. Uninstall the current driver, and any software related to it (the dolby software) 2. restart 3. Install the driver for windows 8 (in my case it never installs dolby automatically, I´ll explain how to do it manually below) 4. Restart twice (yes, I always had to restart twice after the install otherwise manually installing dolby would not work and I got an error when trying to run the install) 5. In the driver folders you downloaded and unzipped go to the folder "PCEE4" and run "DolbyHomeTheater.msi" 6.If you dont get the "Install PCEE" error, restart and you should be able to enjoy dolby (when its not acting up). If you get the error then you may have not followed the instructions properly. Go back to step 1 Good luck guys

  • Dolby Home Theater for ThinkPad W530

So I had to restore my Windows 8, and I had to reinstall all the drivers. However, I couldn't find the Dolby Home Theater driver in the drivers page under ThinkPad W530. In another post on the forum, I found the link to Dolby Home Theater driver for another ThinkPad (S series). When I try to install this, it gives an error saying PCEE needs to be installed.
Could someone help me find the driver for ThinkPad W530 or resolve the PCEE error?

I have tried multiple times to reinstall the realtech driver with no luck.
Here is the error that I get when I start Dolby home theater software
From the control pannel add & remove I can see that i have "dolby Home theater V4" installed with version number 7.2.7000.11 and i have the "Realtek high definition audio driver" version 6.0.1.6914 installed which I got from the lenovo drivers website for the w530.
Please let me know if you have a solution to this problem as I have already searched the web and cannot find any reliable place where I can find the original software drivers that came with the computer.
    Thanks,
    Marc

  • Dolby Home Theater V4 changed to Dolby Digital Plus after Realtek Audio Driver update Windows 8.1

Hi,I'm now using Ideapad Z510. After upgraded to Windows 8.1. I'd went to the Lenovo website searching for new driver update.
But, after i install the "Realtek Audio Driver 6.0.1.7023", the "Dolby Home Theater V4" is not running(audio sound not playing through). And, the "Dolby Digital Plus" is running instead of "Dolby Home Theater V4".
Then, when I try to reinstall the older version "Realtek Audio Driver 6.0.1.6954" from Lenovo website, the "Dolby Home Theater V4" is running again.
Truly, the "Dolby Digital Plus"'s sound is crisper and louder than "Dolby Home Theater V4". But the sound of "Dolby Home Theater V4" has more bass and more function (like Graphic Equalizer, more Intelligent Equalizer etc.).
Is this an update or what?
What should I choose? The newer driver (for Windows 8.1) or older driver (for Dolby Home Theater V4)?  Thanks. (confused now) @@

  • Dolby Home Theater v4

    http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS029566
I ran across the above link in my "travels".   It is a Lenovo download link for
Dolby Home Theater v4 for Win. 7 x32 and x64 for ThinkPad S430 and
    Twist S230u.
My question is can I use this link to upgrade from my currently installed
Dolby Home Theater v2 to Dolby Home Theater v4?  If so, any caveats?

    Hi Altoid666
Just click on the 1st link - Dolby and download the pdf guide.
Dolby Home Theater v4 provided is a sound driver itself. Dolby Home Theater v2 is just an add-on for manufacturer driver. It is not an upgrade, but a different set of solution.

  • Can't install Dolby Home Theater after upgrading to windows 10

HI, I have an Acer v3 572g.  I upgraded from win 8.1 to win 10. Everything is working fine except that the upgrading process completely removed the Dolby Home Theatre application and its drivers and automatically installed the Realtek high definition drivers, after I found out about it, I tried some tips I found online , this is what I did: Downloaded the audio drivers from the Acer website, uninstalled the default audio drivers then, I installed the acer drivers followed the installation process restarted my computer after that, I try to run the DolbyHomeTheater installer found in the PCEE4 folder but after I open the setup file it says: DHT cannot be installed. it doesn't explain why it cannot be installed whatsoever. I can't get this app installed no matter what I do, I've tried different things like installing and uninstalling multiple times, running the setup in compability mode... I don't know what to do now Any help will be very appreciated.

Hi! Thanks for your reply, I did exactly what you suggested but it didn't work for me. I'm able to install the audio drivers but when I try to run the Dolby Home Theater setup, it gives the same error "DHT cannot be installed" I now tried running the setup in troubleshoot compability mode it says: "Settings applied: Windows compability mode: Skip version check. Then, I click on test program but get the "DHT cannot be installed" error. After that, Windows compabilty troubleshoot asks me whether the problem is fixed or not, I click "no" then it says: "issues found: Incompatible program: DolbyHomeTheater is incompatible." But the odd thing is I'm able to install Dolby Advanced Audio v2 and not DHT v4,
I don't know if this is an issue with Windows 10 and Dolby, Acer or both are working on it or something went wrong during the upgrading process...

  • Dolby Home Theater

I was wondering if anyone has any idea on how to get the same sound quality in Linux as I do in windows. I have an Acer Aspire 3830TG TimelineX laptop, everything is working, including sound. The main annoyance I have is that if I am in windows, the sound out of the integrated speakers are 100x better than what works with ALSA in Linux. I know there are a lot of laptops that have the "Professionally Tuned" Dolby Home theater speakers ingratiating now, and was wondering if anyone has gotten the sound quality better than what ALSA will provide.

For ALSA, see if this helps:
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Al … r_clipping
    Also consider using an equalizer:
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Al … _Equalizer
And lastly you can consider switching to OSS instead; however, I don't know if it will necessarily give better quality.

  • V5-552P Windows 10 audio driver got rid of Dolby Home Theater

A few days ago I upgraded my laptop to Windows 10 and everything worked fine, including Dolby Home Theater. However, today I decided to install the Windows 10 audio drivers for my laptop on Acer's website just to make sure they were fully updated, but now Dolby Home Theater is completely gone from my system. Why does the Windows 10 audio driver get rid of Dolby Home Theater and how can I get it back?

try to install this drivers:http://station-drivers.com/index.php/downloads/func-startdown/1591/ 100% trustable websitedouble click on exe, on the extracted folder look for setup.exe file and run it.

  • Home sharing does not work with new mountain lion update.

home sharing does not work with new mountain lion update. Does anyone else have the same issue. Updated all computers in my home, deauthorized and reauthorized each computer. turn off home sharing and turned it back on. don't know what else to do..please help...

Our Apple TVs continue to lose connection ever since installing Mountain Lion on the host computer. The only thing that fixes them is to quit and relaunch iTunes, which only works unti the ATV goes to sleep. If a movie is paused for more than a few minutes and the ATV goes to sleep, pressing play again on the remote is greeted with "There are no movies on this computer" or "Turn on Home Sharing."
If we stop a video on one ATV and attempt to resume it in another room, the error begins again. The other ATV can't connect until iTunes is relaunched.
My guess is that it has something to do with the new [annoying] security settings. But I still haven't found a fix other than restarting iTunes everytime we want to watch something from our downloads. Fail.

  • Home Sharing does not work. It's time for Apple to act.

My specific question: Does anyone from Apple read these discussions *and* use the information to fix iTunes?
My issue (and I've given up on this): Home Sharing does not work and it needs to be fixed. I use a Windows 7 based PC and can successfully access my iTunes library from my iPad, meaning all network requirements are met. However many artists and albums do not appear. I know this is not about the tagging/data for the albums.
I found recommendations in these forums regarding the iTunes database (.itl), that this is a sign that the database is corrupted, and how to re-create it from the xml version. I used this technique and it did fix the problem - all albums and artists appeared. But within a day or so, they disappear again, meaning the .itl file is corrupted again and has to be re-created again. Also - if the .itl file is corrupted, then why does everything appear fine in iTunes? Somewhere, somehow the data are good enough to make iTunes work properly.
Bottom line: If you can't get the basics right, then Home Sharing does not work. Some very helpful forum commenters said it could have something to do with the anti-virus software, but that is just passing the buck.  I should not have to know how to do all this. I should be able to turn on Home Sharing and enjoy the music from my iPads, iPhone, etc. Imagine you have to know how fuel injection works and be able to fix it every two days just to use your car - you should be able to turn the key and drive.
There are more problems - I won't even get into how the album won't display properly on the iPad and other annoyances.
Apple? Are you listening? Home Sharing does not work. It is the opposite of the image projected of easy-to-use, people-friendly products.
I suggest you either make it work or turn off the feature.
    Joe

If your database is constantly becoming corrupt, you have a problem on your computer, it is nothing to do with homesharing. The corrupt database does not affect iTunes because that uses another file. It's not passing the buck, by considering whether anti-virus software might be causing this, this is the sort of stuff anti-virus software does (although I'm not saying that's what it is in your case-I don't know at this stage), you can't hold Apple accountable for badly written software that you have put on your computer yourself.
If you can't correctly identify what is causing your problem, you are never going to fix it.
