Domain change

Hi,
I have an installation of SAP BusinessObejcts BI Platform on a server and i already have a few universes and WEBI reports working, but we will change the domain (for i.e. domainnet to domain.local) so i think we will loose our reports like they are working like now.
What i need to do to make sure that we won't have any problem?
A step-by-step guide would be a help. I try to find anything on the web but was usefully.

Service Account - What i need to change in the SIA properties? Do we have an SAP Note to know? i can't find anything on the SIA properties that i need to change...

Importance of Certification for Domain Change

Hi,
I have two years experience in development in .Net technologies in a reputed MNC. After that I took a break for personal reasons and now am planning to get back into the industry. During that period of work, i had taken part in a "boot camp" carried out by my company itself in SAP PI/XI 7.1, which perked a lot of interest in me towards SAP. Domain change, unfortunately, was not encouraged in my company, at least at my level.
I am now looking forward to doing Certification in a SAP module. I have a few questions.
1. Even though I have coding experience, will I be counted as a fresher, since it is not in SAP technologies? I think Certification is important towards improving my chances in improving my chances in securing a job as a SAP consultant?
2. I am leaning more towards functional modules than technical. My work exposed me more towards communications end, especially mobile app development, can any one suggest a good module i should look into? I liked SAP PI/XI since including a bit of coding as well, which i though would be good for me since i have experience in that domain, but some consider it as an advanced module, so I'm really not sure.

Hi Arnab,
1. As far as SAP is concerned, you would be considered as a fresher. However, your .net experience would be some handy. SAP Certification may help to market your CV being a fresher. At the end of day, whether you have Certification or not, you need to show case and prove your abilities in the interview.
2. Particularly, mobile technologies have good demand. You should follow the mobile technology space on SCN. There are some wonder people in this area, I am sure, they would be able to advise you in more details.

Oracle Enteprise manager 11g has stopped working after domain change

We are currently running Oracle 11g on our environment. It was working fine until the domain change. how can i reconfigure oracle such that it can work on the new domain without uninstalling. Oracle runs on morethan eight production VM Windows 20008 R2 servers.

System Domain Change

We will soon be going through a Domain change from "NTDP" to "GOVT".
There is a fair amount of shall we say...hesitation (trying to be nice)...regarding what types of changes, if any, are required for the Business Objects Enterprise XI R2 system. Is anyone aware of any existing documentation regarding such a change?
For example, the configuration tab on all of the crystal servers tell me that the "CMS belongs to cluster 'WIT157.NTDP.Henrico". However, we don't really "cluster" the CMS. In other words, there is only 1 CMS server, not multiple. Regardless, will that cluster name need to change to GOVT? Or this name just a name.
Any other recommendations on things to look into regarding a Domain change like this?
It's been a while since BO XI was installed. Years. I'm not sure anyone's really paid it a lot of attention in this whole domain change things. Trying to make sure this app doesn't slip through the cracks.

The domain change will appear as a server name change in releases prior to XI 3.x. You may need to recreate the server/services. There are SAP notes on this in the SMP.
If you have any services running under AD accounts you must insure they can still run in the new domain (or if the old domain is going away) you will need to create their accounts in the new domain. You will need a domain account for various reasons(like sending reports to a network location or to enabling kerberos).
If you use AD or NT authentication enabled then you may need a lot more planning depending on what's happening to the old domain.

Domain change / Spiceworks pings a nonexistent domain

My company is in the process of switches email providers, moving from johnstown.k12.oh.us to jmk12.org. The email I signed up with is a jmk12.org email, and so Spiceworks keeps attempting to ping jmk12.org — a nonexistent domain. How would I go about changing the ping alert to ping my original domain? I already changed my user settings to use the original email.
Sorry if this is a really stupid question, but I'm new and can't for the life of me figure it out, if it's even possible.

Command to Open "Computer Name/Domain Changes" window

Running the commands SystemPropertiesComputerName or "sysdm.cpl" in command line will open the System Properties window. I still have to click on the "Change" button to
get to the Computer Name/Domain Changes window. Is there a command to get to the
Computer Name/Domain Changes window directly? I have been searching the internet for several days. I've also tried using SendKeys (batch file, VBScript, and in PowerShell) and to send two TABS
and an ENTER key but I can't get it to work. The command doesn't seem to work on the
System Properties window.

OS domain change

Hi ,
We are going to change our DOMAIN in sever, Is that we need to take any pre-requisites in SAP level for the Domain change. We are going to stop the application server before changing the domain.

The system will not work/come up after you switched the domain. You will need to adapt the permissions on the filesystem for the new users (in the new domain), registry permission, OPS$-Users (in case of Oracle) and various other things.
I suggest you do a system copy instead (backup the system, delete it, switch domain and reinstall).

Remote distribution Servers Domain Change

We have around 500 remote distribution point servers. We are going through a domain change for the company. I have read that domain change is not supported officially, so does anyone know the best way we can move all the content library and data from
1.abc.com server to 1.xyz.com server?
Is there is other way we can change the domain of the existing server, and not go through a process of building 500 more servers and move the data?

Personal Domain changed but iWeb still remains with the old one

Hi,
recently I changed my Personal Domain on MobileMe. Unfortunately iWeb still remains with the old one: Even if I create a new iWeb-Domain the problem occurs. I also checked whether this is a local iMac problem or not but it isn´t unless I have the same issue with my MacBook Air using the same MobileMe Account. Every time I open iWeb the 'Settings Page' shows the old personal domain name (displayed in brackets behind the MobilMe Account information). At MobilMe the new Personal Domain name displayed as the active one.
Any Ideas?

Data element and domain change problem

Hi Gurus!
I changed a Key figure's domain in our system.
The users would like the Key figure with 5 decimal places, but there was only 3 decimal places.
I did the changes based on this document:

Everything is fine in our develop system.
But when I transport the changes to our test system, there are some error messages after the transport.
The transport's return code is 8.
The error messages are:
InfoObject ZIND (or ref.) used in InfoProvider with data managmnt.-> Error:
InfoObject ZIND: Decimal places was changed from 000003 to 000005
InfoObject ZIND being used in InfoCube ZPCA_R01 (contains data)
I don't want to delete any datas from the cube (this will be critical in our productive system).
I tried to activate the Key figure and the cube, I tried "Activate and adjust database" option in trn. SE14, but nothing helped.
Do you have any alternate ideas?

Dbconsole does not work after windows domain change

I have change windows domain of a oracle 10g server when it was already installed. After that, I can not install dbconsole in a new instance. The service starts but the login screen does not appear.
Does anyone have any idea ?

Have you tried to start directly with the emctl command directly on the command line?
What's the error message displayed.
When you change your domain the asociated configuration file is not matched, and emctl is unable to find it.
You should try to locate a directory named like this: FullyQualifiedHostName_InstanceName
Once you have changed the domain, oracle is unable to find a configuration with the domain previously stated. You'll have to reconfigure and may be recreate your repository.
Commands follow:
set oracle_sid=YourInstanceName
emctl stop dbconsole
emca -repos recreate
emca -deconfig dbcontrol db
emca -config dbcontrol db

CUPS proxy domain change

I'm planning to change the domain of my cups cluster used by the CUPS clients. I mean just the domain part in [email protected]
I'm wondering if by changing the domain name under cluster topology, settings I'm changing the domain name found in os admin. I don't think so.
I don't want to change all the domains since if I change cups domain I'll need to change also the domain of my CUCM cluster. I want to avoid an unnecessary overhead such as itl problems, and so on

BAM Host /Domain Change issue

HI ,
I got to re-install my standalone XE DB where BAM is there. Paralelly my domain and machine pwd got changed. Prob here is rest of services are running fine except ADC.
I have same port for both XE and db which came along with BAM .i.e 1522
appreciate if any one can provide ans for this .
Do i have to re-install XE DB with diff port or wat .

There is a small section in the docs about changing passwords. It has effect on some <xxx>.exe.config files, and you have to reset the password there. You have to reset the passwords on windows services panel also for BAM services under login tab,

IWeb domain change

If I "Remove Domain' from MobileMe on an existing web site and add another domain, does all the info on the original site become deleted? If I choose to Add a Domain and work on it for a while, then revert back to my original domain ( of course only one can be hosted at a time) will I retain the info that was left there before I changed domains ? Kind of a confusing question perhaps

No - you need to understand that MobileMe and iWeb are absolutely separate - iWeb is just the package that you use to create your website and MobileMe is where you host it/publish it to - the two do not affect each other at all.
You can have two domain name with MobileMe quite happily - keep one filled in on your MobileMe account and use CNAME forwarding at your domain name registrar and then for the other domain you can then use masked or unmasked web forwarding where you select web forwarding for the relevant domain name and then forward it to web.me.com/username/sitename, so this saves you having to keep changing the domain names all the time.

Domain change for Win2000 servers

I have several Win2000 servers that I am setting up to send to state offices. I will be setting them up in our national office domain then they will be shipped out to the states and will reside in their state domains.
I have been told by one of our Oracle gurus here that when he's seen this done in the past, there always seems to be issues. He suggested setting them up in the state domains to start (which we found would not be easy for many reasons).
Has anyone had issues moving oracle servers into different domains? Will I need to change any network/IP info in Oracle? If so, where?

Generally you should use the dns names instead of Absolute IP and leave the
responsibility of resolving the alias to IP for DNS server. That way you can be
safe if you plan to change your old server to new one too. IP address will change
when you move the server. If the domain also will change with this move:
1. For the server: Reflect the change in the listener.ora as well as tnsnames.ora (in case of loopback, etc).
2. For the Client (which may not be your case): only hostnames in tnsnames.ora file needs to be changed.
