Domain config in NW2004s NWDI component

Hi,
We are trying to create a domain within the Landscape Configuratior. This is found under http://<server:port>/devinf ->Change managament service.
The guide tells you to enter the tranport directory for the system, and gives the ecample c:\usr\sap\Jtrans.
Our system is a Unix box and also the J2EE server is an add in installation using the standard SAP transport directory.
Are we supposed to add /usr/sap/trans or the full path of /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in as the value.
I have been through the guide at: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/0e/84b3406161bf13e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
But this does not make it clear.

Role Config Key when testing component using BSPWD_CMP_TEST?

I have component view for which we have done some configuration change and saved with some Config Key. This key has been already assigned to the business role. Now when testing this component how can I force the component to load the view based on this Config. Key?
Any help on this would be really appreciated.

Vasu,
You don't need the Business Role assignment via Org. Model to accomplish this.
For the Business Role >> assign a PFCG Authorization Role>> assign the right Role Config Key that you used for changes on the front-end.
Now assign the user to this PFCG Authorization Role in (Transaction PFCG) or can be done from SU01 for the user. (*Optional: see that you assign the same Business Role to the Parameter CRM_UI_PROFILE-this is not required).
It's only the PFCG role that controls the authorizations for what is displayed and config changes relating to the role config key and the business role.
And this should work without errors.

Cluster domain config - newbie question

Hi,
I need to configure a clustered domain on Host1 and Host2 with one managed_server1 on Host1 and one managed_server2 on Host2.
I followed the steps outlined below but ended up with both managed servers running on Host1 rather then managed_server1 running on Host1 and managed_server2 running on Host2. Can someone please clarify the right procedure for me.
1. I installed the software on both Host1 and Host2.
2. From Host1 ran the config.sh to create a domain.
3. While creating a domain I created an admin server to run at Host1:7001 and one managed_server1 to run at Host1:7003.
At the same time I also did create a cluster with cluster address as Host1:7003,Host2:7003.
Also created machines Host1, Host2. Assigned admin server and managed_server1 to machine Host1.
Finished with the domain.
4. Started node managers on both servers, started the admin server, then from the admin server console
I created another managed_server2 which I assigned to Host2 and the cluster that I created in step 3,
started both managed servers from the console.
My question is - now both my managed servers are running on Host1 and on Host2 I only have the node manager process.
Is this correct? Because my domain directory under user_projects is located on Host1, nothing on Host2,
in fact I even don't have user_projects directory on Host2. Should I copy the directory structure (user_projects/domains/<my_domain>) to Host2 manually?

Hi Anatolly
There are some discrepencies in the way you created cluster for the Env you want. Here are brief outline steps. Will give the full link at the bottom.
1. Install SAME version of Weblogic Server on both the machines Machine1 and Machine2. Note that it should be the same version absolutely.
2. On Machine1, Create a Cluster Domain. At the time of creation select customize option. Create 2 Managed Servers MS1 and MS2. Give the machine IP adddress or dns names for each ms1 and ms2 where they are gonna run. You can use the same port, since they are running on different machines. Ofcourse you will have one Admin Server assuming its on Machine1 itself. Create only ONE cluster and in next screen add both ms1 and ms2 to this cluster. You can have any number of clusters. Bur for your usecase, you need only one cluster with 2 managedservers. Admin server is NOT part of cluster.
3. Now you have a Clustered domain with AdminServer and MS1 on Machine1 and MS2 that should run on Machine2. MS1 and MS2 are part of cluster
4. Within Machine1, run a command called pack (see below link for details). This will create a .jar file with the name you specify during pack command.
5. copy the above .jar file to other Machine2. Run unpack command on this other machine. Now you will have MS2 created on other machine.
You can always start adminserver and ms1 (first managed server) on machine1 using normal startweblogic and startmanagedweblogic commands. On other machine run startmanagedweblogic and give that server name which is ms2.
You do not need Node manager by default. Incase if you want to start/stop ms2 server running on other machine from main master machine MS1, then you need to configure node manager etc.

Weblogic Domain overwriting a different Domains config location

Okay so here is the issue. I have two Weblogic Domains, lets say Domain1 and Domain2. For some reason recently Domain2 has decided that it is going to write to bea/domains/Domain1. This includes the config.xml, /jdbc and /nodemanager. Now I have verified that the startWeblogic.sh is setting the correct Domain2 locations however could this possibly be something with the Node Manager that is over riding these properties? Thanks for the help.
My current machine is a Sun Solaris 10 box running Weblogic 10g.

the binaries available for download are all packaged with 32bit JVM. Please have a look at the link below
WebLogic Server 12c (12.1.1), WebLogic Server 11g (10.3.6) and Previous Releases
It also has binaries for linux available. I am quoting from the site verbatim for your reference:
The following provides links to WebLogic Server 12.1.1 installers with 32-bit JVMs for Windows and
Linux, the generic installer that can be used on any supported platform, and the zip distribution. The
generic installer and the zip distribution do not include a JVM/JDK. For instructions on using the
generic installer, see this document.
In case you want to use your own latest version of JDK which can be a 32/64 bit version, you need to use the generic installer.
The error which you are getting is due to permissions. Make sure you have a dedicated user for installing weblogic and the necessary permissions are granted to the user(linux) to the installation directories. May be the script is trying to install java at a particular location on your machine and failing. Hence the above error is displayed.
Please have a look at the docs, you will find steps for weblogic installation on linux.

Help CFGFWK-60814 error when creating weblogic domain(Config.cmd)

I've installed soa suite 11gR2 without problem on windows 7 Turkish platform and Oracle XE DB. But, when I create domain based (run config.cmd) on templates it gives CFGFWK-60814 error; it says template can't be applied because it can't find dependencies although required files are already in correct directories.
I found similar error on google, but I couldnt find solution.

There is no silent mode of domain configuration. There is silent mode of wls installation.

Webcenter Installation Linux : domain config : not giving suite components

I have downloaded the webcenter suite with UCM ( under additional components ) and installed on linux, everything ran properly, Webcenter suite installed with proper success message and UCM also but when I am running the configuration wizard to create WCS domain it's not giving me the WC suite applications as expected normally, it's just giving me the prompts as normally we get during weblogic domain configuration, Does anybody have same kind of experience and reason ?

I followed the CCM 2.0 cookbook instructions but obviously I made a mistake or I missed something. Ive configured both MasterDataInclusionInCatalogOnWAS700 and CatalogeUploadWAS700 scenarios. Im a little unsure whether the MasterDataInclusionInCatalogOnWAS700 is defined correctly as the instructions were very vague and assumed ones XI knowledge is grater than mine.
Also, can someone please explain to me which scenario (the CatalogeUpload or MasterDataInclusion) is required when you execute program BBP_CCM_TRANSFER_CATALOG?

CCM2.0 Config in NW2004S (PI7.0) - Error with assigning pw to xiapplccm

I've run into a situation that I don't understand while I was trying to activate CCM 2.0 XI settings.
While activating my changes, the activation failed due to a missing password entry in the GeneratedReceiverChannel_RFC communication channel. The logon user id 'XIAPPLCCM' is a service type id which aren't supposed to need a password.
Is this correct?

Hi ,
You are most likely getting this error becasue the Integration Server is not created correctly in the SLD.
Check the following in the SLD:
1. The technical system for the Integration Server should contain the appropriate product SAP EXCHANGEINFRASTRUCTURE with all installed software components
2. The business system for the Integration Server should also include the product and the components. Check this according to the Post Installation Activities in the XI installation guide.
After the change, delete the SLD temporary storage in the directory, refresh the cache and retry your step.
I have also noted that in your error message, the source element is named 'SAP_XIIntegrartionServer'. Is this spelling correct? It could just be a typo that is causing this error.

CCM2.0 Config in NW2004S (PI7.0) - Configuring a second scenario problem

While trying to complete the CCM 2.0 configuration in our XI system Ive reached a problem that I dont know how to solve.
I had originally configured the CatalogeUploadOnWAS700 scenario and now Im trying to configure the MasterDataInclusionInCatalogeOnWAS700.
As Ive already defined and used the business system in the earlier definition, Im not able to configure the Configure Connections for the second scenario in the Configuration Steps. When I try to select the check box the entry is not open for editing.
Then if I leave that section and choose Generate, the communication channel isnt created for the new scenario.
What should I be doing differently?

Hi Jerry,
Rather than creating a new service button for the Business System add in the existing service you used in the Uplaod scenario. This should allow you to Configure the Connections.

I think the key message is
com.sap.tc.cbs.server.rt.cache.src.verifier.impl.LogCacheInconsistency
all other messages after this seem to inply clean up and death.
So it looks like a cache inconsistency inside CBS..... I have scanned everywhere for you with no luck so the approach I would recommend now is to
1. Double check te CBS log and defult.trc for times just beforfe this event.
2. Raise a call with SAP
3. It depends on the frequency of error since update if only a couple of times over months then perhaps this is not so dangerous....
4. see what activity was happening at the times it happened for any correlation.
I would imagine it is a problem with the CBS application rather than the objects in workspaces/buildspaces.
I guess you could initialize compartments in desperation also just to make sure CBS has the bast data possible and highlight any issues that may be lurking that should not be.

NWDI in NW2004s- how to start.!!!

I have installed NWDI component in NW2004s with usage type EP.
Now I am implementing ESS in EP. What are the steps to be carried out to get NWDI control the software life cycle.
For Example : setup cms,cbs and dtr?
setup tracks in SLD.
how do I do these things...

Ideally you need course ADM225.
You need to install an NWDI system - Usage type DI.
This cannot be on your EP system as it will probably cause CMS lockouts amongst other things... SAP does not recommend it.
The full information on setup is in the online help in the J2EE Developers manual although this is a Basis task!
There is an install guide but it does not give enough to understand what you need to do. There are some important decisions to make first.
Embarking on NWDI is quite time consuming and expensive so make sure you need it.
The DI system is quite resource hungry and will be veeeery slow is RAM is short so size it right.
Developer config is a big decision point. They all want to have a local J2EE for testing om which is quite sensible but in reality that means 2 CPU's and 2GB RAM or more ofr each developer.
SLD / Namespace location is important
User roles and track configuration are also very important decisions.

EPM 11.1.2: Foundation Services config fails on Windows 2008 SP1 server.

Hi,
I installed EPM 11.1.2 on Windows 2008 SP1, 32-bit. The installation succeeded (no errors in logs). However, when I run EPM Configurator to configure Foundation Services, it fails.
Environment:
EPM Server: Windows 2008 SP1 32-bit
RDBMS: Oracle Enterprise Edition 10.2.0.4 (running on remote AIX 5.3 TL 8 server)
Oracle Client: 10.2.0.4 (full client install)
The configtool.log (see below) indicates that the program cannot find the reg.properties file. I checked the server and this file does not exist. The log file also reports non-existing classpath entries (not sure if this is related). The registry.log file (see below) reports a jdbc driver error: java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-00917: missing comma.
I submitted a service request with Oracle Support, but the support engineer said that installation and configuration errors are outside the scope of technical support.
Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. I downloaded and extracted the additional components. I have also dropped and recreated the HSS repository. Each time I have tried to reinstall, I have uninstalled all EPM/Oracle components, removed registry keys, removed EPM environment variables and removed references to oracle in the PATH environment variable.
I have tried installing/configuring HSS 11.1.2 on both Windows 2008 SP1 64-bit and Windows 2008 SP1 32-bit. The configuration error is the same.
I was able to get my SR reassigned to a different support analyst, and we are working on troubleshooting now.
If you can think of anything else to try, let me know.
BTW...on the 32-bit server, the page file maximum is 16GB (should be enough)?

Domain Agents and E6900 with multiple NICs.

I have some issues configuring Sun management Center 3.6 (and 3.6.1) on a network with this characteristics:
2 x E6900 (with 2 Domains each one)
1 x v210
The Server Component of Sun Management Center is installed on the v210. In this machine are installed the Platform Agents of the 2 System Controllers of the 2 E6900.
Each domain has installed de Sun Management Center Agent.
The network configuration of the Domains is this:
Each domain has 3 NIC on 3 different network interfaces, and each NIC has its own hostname. One of this NIC is destinated to the administration network to be used for the Sun Management Center. This nic, as I said before, has its own hostname but it its different of the nodename (the node name is the same as the public interface of the domain, not the administration interface).
The Domains does not use DNS, and the information included on the /etc/hosts is related to local NICs and the NICs of the other Domains, but anyone contains the NIC of the admin interface of other domain nor the NIC of the v210.
The v210 does not has DNS neither, and has only their own information on /etc/hosts.
All Domains has Solaris 9, and v210 has Solaris 10.
Basically the problem is:
"The Domain Agents cannot communicate with SunMC Server", when I manually add each agent. The discovery process doesn't work neither.
I checked the domain-config.x of one domain and it shows:

interface; and no success neither.If you just change the hostname or IP, but don't do anything else, it won't work as the Agent has already created security keys for that old entry and needs to be reseeded. Change the entry to the IP that's on the same network as your SunMC Server, then run this command on the Agent while it's turned off:
/opt/SUNWsymon/sbin/es-run base-usm-seed.sh -s <SEED> -c agent
..replacing <SEED> with the same seed/password you used on your SunMC Server. Then start the Agent back up, wait for it a couple minutes, and try to make an icon for it again.

specific Icon.If the icon is incorrect then your SunMC Server is missing some files (or you've found a bug). You'll want all these addons installed on your Server:

Sun Fire Midrange Systems Domain Administration
If you think you may be missing some (look in /var/opt/SUNWsymon/install/install.[timestamp] to see how you answered questions during your last install) you can run /opt/SUNWsymon/sbin/es-inst again and point it to your distribution media and it will only ask about packages that may be missing. If you do end up adding in some of the Midrange addons then a simple Console restart should refresh your Platform icons.
