Domain Integration

Hi,
We have three tier architecture (ECC 5.0) with Oracle database. As the merger of the group of companies we are doing a Domain Integration and which helps all the group of companies will come under one domain.
On this regards will have to move all our SAP systems to new domain.
We require information as
What are the adverse effects?
What are the key things needs to consider?
How smoothly we can incorporate the domain integration?
In case if you have any information or any SAP notes then please reply us.
Regards,
JP.

Hello Thava
The XI components have not successfully registered in the SLD. Apply note #764176 Error in XI due to inconsistent SLD contents. If you stil have issues, search the forum for similar cases of "XI sld register" e.g. Adapter Engine no register in SLD..

  • NT Domain integration

Has anyone integrated the iFS security with NT Domain security? For example when a user is created on the NT side this needs to be reflected on the iFS side. I know I could write a Java interface to do this but am interested if anyone has already done this.
    Thanks

Has anyone managed to do this, surely I'm not the first?
    Thanks in advance

  • Composite domain integrity check

    Hello
I'm researching if it is possible to validate a composite domain based on a calculated check digit, where the check digit is obtained by performing some calculations on the other fields of the composite domain. A domain is considered valid if the calculated
digit is equal to the given one.
Is this possible at all in SQL Server 2014?
    Thanks,

  • PEAP authentication for domain & non-domain computers

    Hello Everyone,
Some of our users have laptops that are not in the domain and are unable to connect to the wireless network. Although their computers aren't in the domain, the users do have an AD account and are currently a part of the security group attached to the Wireless NPS policy. The only remedy I have for this problem is to manually add the SSID to their computer which defeats the purpose of this wireless network. The ultimate goal is to allow the user to connect to the wireless network by entering their domain credentials and moving on.
We have a WLC 2504 running 7.4.110.0 with 15 1602i APs. The SSID is configured to pass 802.1x EAP authentication to NPS running on windows 2008 R2. With mobile phones and tablets, the authentication is successful without a hitch so I don't understand why a non-domain computer is unable to connect without manually entering the SSID. In the WLC log, I will see entries such as:
"AAA Authentication Failure for UserName:host/LastNameFirstInitial-LT.mydomain.Local User Type: WLAN USER".
By examining this log entry, to me it says the domain profile on the computer is being sent to the NPS for authentication instead of the username and password. We have a  3rd party SSL certificate installed on the NPS server.
Taking it one step further - We have a second SSID for guest users that is configured with the same setup except that the NPS is configured to accept authentication attempts from a single AD user called "mydomain\guest". We decided on this approach for the guest wireless network so that we can rotate the password automatically every week with a vbscript that manipulates the password via LDAP. Users with laptops in different domains are unable to connect to the guest wireless network and I'm starting to think the machine authentication is a problem.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ali.

    Hi Ali,
That’s all part of the wonderful world of wireless on Windows.
When a connection to a WLAN is made on a windows machine, by selecting it from available Wireless Networks list (Passive RF Scan), and Windows as parsed the 802.11 AP Beacon to contain the WPA2, 802.1X element, by default it will attempt to connect with known or active session credentials.
Typically it will be Machine account (they all have them whether on a Domain or not) and then /Or User. This order and preference may change depending on version of Windows (Vista to Windows 8) and service pack level.
Regardless the only thing you can count of for sure is that the first authentication attempt from a windows client will not involve the user entering information. Once the first attempt fails the Windows supplicant will prompt the user for login information via a notification in the system tray, which may or may be noticed by the user. May or may not stay for more than 5 seconds.
Windows XP and Vista were the worst for this. Windows 7 and Windows 8 this process and recovery and user prompt mechanism is greatly improved but not infallible.
The only way to avoid this would be to manually configure the WLAN profile on the windows machine as you are currently doing.
Mobile phones and tablets don’t have this issue as they don’t have issue because software coding in their supplicants. Besides the only “system” credentials on iOS or Android phone are typically your Play Store and App Store accounts, and both vendors know those won’t be accepted for network access by default anywhere.
There isn’t an easy way to support non-domain windows systems on a domain integrated one.
You might want to try adding another SSID.
You could have a corporate SSID, Guest Portal and a third that is PSK + Guest Portal. ON NPS you could filter for RADIUS attribute called-station-id (includes SSID) to allow all domain ID’s access instead of the just that WLAN.
Or you could look at swapping out NPS for a Cisco ISE VM/appliance with the new Plus licenses add lower cost for onboarding devices and Windows XP and up are supported for supplicant configuration via ISE.

  • What is the most appropriate way to generate a static IPv6 for a domain controller?

DNS Role Best practives is giving errors. Looks like I need to assign ONE static IPv6 to each domain controller and use IT in DNS and DHCP. There are two routers on the network, each assigning a 2002: IP, plus a link local FE80: IP is also assigned.
Is there a way to generate a static IPv6 for domain controllers that will not change even if the network cards or routers are changed?
What is the best practice so that domain integrated DNS and DHCP with Exchange 2010 in the domain, will continue to function?
There is ambiguous information as to whether DC's should have static or dynamic IPv6 IPs. I have tried variations such as IPv4 compatible. IPv4 mapped, ISATAP, etc. but over time have gotten different errors from different sources.
It is one thing for Microsoft to give error messages about IPv6 but I cannot find any definitive recommednations on this.
Thanks if anyone finds a universal answer.
    Bob.

Excellent and valid points, Bob. Your outlook explains in an easy way how the challenges setting up Windows Server are in a sense, self-generated, and in every sense fully avoidable.
No changes have been made to the warnings or errors in 2013 R2 despite improvements in other areas. This release mainly brought improvements to the setup in areas that were truly broken like automatic account generation for ADFS. Since that's a decade old
feature it's probably best not to wait for Microsoft to clarify, and I appreciate your recommendations.
I'm bumping this thread since it's the first result for 192.168.1.1 on ipv6 on Google right now, and since there's no way to see how often it's being referenced I wanted to add some additional information.
Multiple NIC's can be specified by using the scope ID parameter supported since Vista, that appears as a percent-sign at the end of IPv6 addresses. It uniquely identifies the network adapter even when that adapter shares the same host portion of the IPv6
address space (i.e. essentially, has the same IP, which in IPv4 is invalid.) I'll give some examples at the end of the post.
Following the recommendation to deprecate the fec0 prefix while maintaining a link-local addressing scheme is possible through the prefix length at the beginning of the IPv6 address. As
this reference at IBM explains, fe80:: maps to a link-local prefix length of 64 equivalent to the IPv4 version of 24, and anything else before the double-colon refers to the network portion of the IPv6 address.
The host portion of the IP address then _could_ be ::20, ::21, etc., as you said, but to follow
this MSDN recommendation, it would be more appropriate to use the same host portion and add a suffix for the scope ID documented on that page. The suffix may be specific to Windows
and may not work in an equivalent way in heterogeneous platform deployments. But since the effect is limited to the local machine it should help anything past XP differentiate NICs when assigned the same host portion.
The approach taken in the random IPv6 generator linked elsewhere on this page leaves open the possibility, however unlikely, that the generated IP can route to some other host on an open network that happens to have generated the same network portion of
the address (the other host would be sharing the same network.) If any part should be random, it's the host portion after the double-colon, not the network portion at the beginning, so that the possibility does not exist.
Additionally, the host portion doesn't have to be random, it's just done that way because it's usually automatically generated; a random number is safer for a computer than relying on a sequence that may not fully cover all the numbers used so far. If you're
doing a manual deployment you can combine the above information with the inline 0-supression in IPv6 to assign numbers in the following way:
fe80::1:1%1 (first computer is 1:1, first interface is %1)
    fe80::1:1%2 (second interface)
    fe80::1:2%1 (second computer, first interface)
Effectively here we're swapping "192.168.1" for "fe80::1" which is roughly the same length (taking into account variations like 10.0.0). The only gotcha is that _either_ the string after the double-colon can't be 1 by itself since that's
reserved for local machine loopback, _or_ that the second-to-last number after the double-colons can't be 0, since that's equivalent due to inline supression.
Other combinations are fine, like fe80::2%1 and fe80::2%2 for the first computer, then ::3 for the second, etc. I thought having a 2-index for the first machine is too uncommon to look familiar so I chose the alternative, but even something like fe80::fe%80
    is perfectly fine.
If you don't need to identify individual NICs then omitting the part after the percent sign makes fe80::10, fe80::11 a valid sequence for 2 computers. For over 255 computers just add another number before the last, so that it looks like fe80::1:10, fe80::1:11,
etc. That should be easier to remember than the randomly generated numbers.
There is also another way if the preference is to use IPv4-lookalike addresses. The mapped address spec is defined in RFC 4291 and it goes along the lines of "::ffff:192.168.1.1" for a valid IPv6 address to the gateway, for example. That is a newer
recommendation than the RFC which the random-number generated linked elsewhere on this page relies on.

  • Weblogic Integration failed to build Cluster ENV

    Dear buddies,
I have used WL for months, WLS works pretty good with cluster support. but I failed to create WLI cluster.could you guys give me a hand and tell me how to create an WLI cluster? Thanks a lot!!!
Here is the process how I created WLI cluster:
    ENV:RedHat9+ WL8.1_SP4
Machine: 172.16.4.238(adminServer), 172.16.4.237/236(236/237 are in the same physical machine, one Network interface card listen to two ip address)
    BEA_HOME=/opt/bea/
    1.executed /opt/bea/weblogic81/common/bin/config.sh on 172.16.4.238 and create an admin server(cgServer,172.16.4.238:7001) and a cluster(TestCluster) inclued two managedServers(mServer1/172.16.4.236:7001,mServer2/172.16.4.237:7001)
and I didn't create extra JDBC POOL except the standard one.
    2. I exectued same command on 172.16.4.236,create an admin Server(mServer1) and a cluster(TestCluster)with mServer2 included. and the other settings are just same as step1.
Now I am having following problem.
1.admin Server(cgServer) can startup without any problem
2.mServers (mServer1 and mServer2)can't start up(detail output pasted later) it seems pointbase didn't start up correctly on port 9093
3.so I start up point base on mServers machine with command "/opt/bea/weblogic81/common/eval/pointbase/tools/startPointBase.sh"
but seems the pointbase only listen 9092!!
4.I can't even startup adminserver and pointbase DB with Jrockit, but Sun's JVM seems works.
below are detailed output when I startManagedServers:
    command:

Since a couple of days we see the same in our project. Same release. It started when we added versioning to our ~140 processes. A hint would be great. We too didn't find anything helpful on the web.

  • CC&B and Meter Data Management Integration Usage Requests

    Hello.
We investigating the following issue: Trying to create a Bill in CC&B with getting usage data from Meter Data Management using Usage Requests engine. Help pages of CC&B describe the big picture of Usage Requests and configuration overview. So this information is not enough for correct and complete adjustments. There is no any information about outbound and inbound XML messages formats.
CC&B help contains link to the document: Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing - Meter Data Management Integration Implementation Guide, but our attempts of searching of this document was ineffectual.
It's interesting to get any information about Usage Requests from CC&B to Meter Data Management or link to the document mentioned above.
    Thanks in advance!
P.S. Our current setup of Usage Request gives the next log during bill segment generation (we are using jms queues and xsl transformation of outbound and inbound messages. So MDM sends a response, but something wrong in further processing on CC&B side). As a result we get a bill segment in Error state with remark "Usage Request for Bill Segment is not found.".

  • Integration Safeword with Cisco ISE

    Hi,
we have a Domain Integrated Safeword application, which was installed on our Domain Controller. Safeword requests were send over the Radius Port to the NPS server, and from there over Port 5040 to the Safeword application. This works without any problems.
Now we would like to integrate the Cisco ISE to the Safeword. Because there is a checkbox "Safeword Server" at the Radius Token Identity Source, I thought that it is possible to communicate direct with the Safeword application, but it is not working.
    Anyone who already implemented this??
    T&R
    Frank

    Symptoms or Issue
•Unsuccessful RADIUS or AAA functions in Cisco ISE
•The NAD is unable to ping the Policy Service ISE node
    Conditions
This scenario is applicable in a system in which Cisco ISE is configured to perform user authentication via an external RADIUS server on the network.
    Possible Causes
The following are possible causes for losing connectivity with the RADIUS server:
    •Network connectivity issue or issues
    •Bad server IP address
    •Bad server port
    Resolution
If you are unable to ping the Policy Service ISE node from the NAD, try any or all of these possible solutions:
    •Verify the NAD IP address
•Try using Traceroute and other appropriate "sniffer"-type tools to isolate the source of disconnection. (In a production environment, be cautious of overusing debug functions, because they commonly consume large amounts of available bandwidth and CPU, which can impact normal network operation.)
Check the Cisco ISE "TCP Dump" report for the given Policy Service ISE node to see if there are any indications.

  • Xi domain

What is XI domain? out of these which one comes as XI domain
    •     Integration Server;
    •     ABAP Proxy System;
    •     Decentralized Adapter Engine;
    •     Tools;
    thanks
    kumar

    Hi Kumar,
In simple terms XI domain is the combination of all the related componens of XI such as IR,ID,RWB,SLD.
Integration Server, Decentralized Adapter Engine are falls under XI. However ABAP proxy is also used in XI. There are concepts of ABAP and JAVA proxy that is used in XI.
Check the Overview of XI. All the terms in architecture page onwards comes under XI domain:
    http://help.sap.com/bp_bpmv130/Documentation/XI_30_Overview_02_2005.pdf
Sometimes we refer Dev,Test,Prod environment as XI Domain:

  • SLD Technical System Process Integration

    Hi XI Gurus,
I have a question regarding the 5th type of Technical Systems, Process Integration. Is it automatically generated once XI is restarted? In Note 764176, it's telling me to remove the PI technical systems. How can I recreate them? Will they be generated automatically or will we input them manually? Thanks!

    Hi,
Ideally, you need to have 2 Technical System entries for your PI system and 6 entries for Technical System Type 'Exchange Infrastructure'.
the first category (i.e 2 systems) suppose to get deployed automatically using RZ70 (ABAP) and SLD Data Supplier (java).
And the 2nd catergory (i.e 6 entries) suppose to also get deployed automatically but in case, If you do not find them all here is the workaround to get them
    1. If XI Integration Directory  or XI Integration Repository not found then, Please start these tools from default tools page (http://<hostname>:<http port>/dir) upon starting these 2 components you will see them added in SLD
    2. If Adapter Engine not found then, logon NWA, stop & start XPI Service: AF Core & XPI facade: Adapter Framework (Navigation - Configuration Management->Infrastructure->Java System Properties); this should help you get Adapter Engine
    3. The other 3 entries, Domain, Integration Server and RWB should come and usually comes always with automatic installation.
    4. If you still do see after following above instructions, i suggest delete all of them both Technical specific & Exchange Infrastracture" related entries from SLD and then re-deploy RZ70, push 'Collect and Send data' option from 'SLD Data Supplier'  from NWA.
ofcourse, you can always follow the instructions provided in the note that you were refering.
    Regards

  • DHCP creating DNS entries in domain root.

    Hello,
I have a Windows DHCP server in a child domain that serves leases to Windows and Linux clients.  It also create DNS records for all current leases as well.  Recently I noticed it it was creating the DNS records for a few Linux machines in the domain
root DNS and not the client domain DNS.
Is there a way to prevent the dynamic account from creating dns records in the domain root dns?
    Thanks!
    Shawn

Can we get some more info on your config?
    - Is this only affecting non Windows boxes?
    - Are your DNS zones forest integrated or just domain integrated?
    - Are the DNS servers configured for the scope in the child domain and only hosting the child DNS zones?
    - Is the DHCP in the child or root domain?
When dynamic DNS registration happens, it sends the DNS update to the DNS server.  What I'm looking for right now in the technical manual is whether the DHCP server sends it to the scope's DNS servers or if it's using it's own DNS servers.  If
the DNS server is in the root domain, maybe that could be an issue.
    - If you find my posts to be helpful (or the answer), please mark them appropriately.

  • PI 7.11 sp6 system copy Exchange Profile error code: 399

    Experts,
We have a PI 7.1 (EHP1, sp6) PI system based on AIX 6.1 OS and Oracle 11g.
I recently did the standard PI system copy from a prod source (PIP) to a training target (PIT).
I used the most recenty PI system copy guide that is specific for PI 7.1 EHP1
I did not run into any major problems doing the steps of the copy itself.
I did the usual "post" steps, documented in the guide that really are done on any NW system.
Then I got into the specific "PI" post steps and that's where I now have a problem.
I followed all the steps, fixing my RFCs, JCos, Destinations, cleaning up SLD, SLDAPICUST, creating new business systems...etc.
My big problem is with the exchange profile. Yes, it's easy to change all the SIDs and hostnames using the search tool for all the parameters in the exchange profile, but the one I COULD NOT CHANGE was the "ABAP Connection". In there right after the copy was the hostname of the prod system, the client, and the user PILDUSER. I attempted to put the hostname of my target (PIT) system, but I would get the error:
com.sap.rprof.dbprofiles.DBException: RFC call returned an error code: 399
I'm certain the user is NOT locked and the password is correct for PILDUSER. It'll give me a different error if I put the wrong password in, so I know it's hitting my system.
Worse yet, If I left the hostname in there that was set to "prod", then when I changed all the other values in the "parameters" section of the XI profile, then it actually changed my PROD system!!
If I keep the ABAP connection to PIT, then the entire exchange profile disappears for PIT.
I see these errors in the default trace and application log:
    Caused by: com.sap.lcr.api.cimclient.LcrException: CIM_ERR_NOT_FOUND:

+There is problem reading the hostname from the ClusterManager. This could lead to improper wsdl links.#
    SLDCHECK shows this:
Function call returned exception code     3
Access to the XI Profile is currently disrupted.
I can't be the first person to run into this.
SO strange that I can actually plug in either my dev/QA or PROD hostname in the "ABAP connection" box and it WILL ACCEPT IT...but then, it registered my training system as a "non central adapter engine".  I don't want that.
    Any ideas?
Another issue is that the SLD PI information from the PIT system is missing the "Integration Directory".  It has the other 5 entries...Adapter Engine, Domain, Integration Repository, Integration Server,  RWB.
    Thanks for reading this,
    NICK

  • SSO to non-SAP java running on Websphere

    Hi,
I have an EP6 SP2 P5 and another java b2b app running on websphere app server and they are on different domains. I'm trying to figure out how to make sso to that app. There is  a guide on SDN written by Tim Mullé, Stephan Boecker "Enabling Single Sign-On from SAP J2EE Engine/EP to Non-SAP Java Applications" . I'm wondering if can make it work if I follow that guide and also the cross domain integration guide for sending cookies across domains?
    Regards
    Ahmet

The process described in the cross-domain document will be necessary in order to get the MYSAPSSO2 cookies to your non-SAP application. You cannot get your browser to send domain1.com cookies to a domain2.com server. Therefro it is necessary to provide an alternate pathway - in this case using http POST. Then the target of the POST on domain2 can handle the data and return a cookie in its own domain. At that point you can either create your own cookie for websphere to use, or you can simply re-issue the cookie in domain2.com. SAP provides some libraries that will enable the other application to validate the cookie.

  • Outlook Anywhere Loosing connection : Outlook Event id 26 and Exchange IIS HTTPERR Log : Connection_Dropped_List_Full at the same time

    Hi,
I have a Windows 2008R2 Updated / Exchange 2010 SP3 Rollup 7 (Role CAS,HUB,MBX) with only external users connection : ActiveSync, EWS, OWA, Outlook Anywhere.
4 processors and 24Go of memory are allocated to the Exchange server VM (VMWare).
Netscaller is used as reverse proxy in DMZ.
There is around 500 users connecting with Outlook Anywhere to Exchange. Users are using Outlook 2010 or 2013 with last updates and cache mode enabled (owner mailbox and delegations). Users are location all around the world (around 50 sites). So no users
    is domain integrated.
Users are complaining about disconnection, and Outlook freeze (Outlook is not responding). This happened at any point of time during the day, and for different kind of actions (Outlook is just open, Try to press Send button, try to press Transfer button).
The freeze happened randomly for users. I have seen the problem, and Outlook sometimes freeze during few seconds, sometimes during 5 minutes without any reason. (no file copy, no action asked...)
I noticed that freeze are matching with the Outlook event id 26  on the workstation (Connection to the Microsoft Exchange Server has been lost. Outlook will restore the connection when possible). Also, at the same time, I can see around 200 lines in
the IIS HTTPERR Log (Exchange Server : C:\Windows\System32\LogFiles\HTTPERR) the following lines:

What has been already checked :
Check IOPS: seems to be normal
Check Processor consumption: seems to be normal
    Netscaller TimeOut = 8h
Bandwidth where the server is hosted : more than enough
Bandwidth of client internet connection : Traffic do not increase when the problem happen
Firewall TimeOut : seems to be ok
Firewall Protocol Filter : seem to be ok
    Workstation MTU : Ok : ping -l -f 1472 = Ok, so best MTU = 1500 (1472+28)
Outlook Profile : Clean Up OST, sync of all folders, download address book.
wireshark on workstation : nothing seems to be wrong but difficult to analyse, so I maybe missed something.
    Configuration change on Exchange :
    HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\RPC\MinimumConnectionTimeout = 120
    Disable throttling Policy
Adsiedit, change Max Memory alloc for ESE : msExchESEParamCacheSizeMax = 327680 (around 10GB) msExchESEParamCacheSizeMin = 131072 (around 4GB
Adsiedit, change Min Memory alloc for ESE : msExchESEParamCacheSizeMin = 131072 (around 4GB)
Host file : add hostname and FQDN of Exchange Server
    Disable IPV6 : HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\services\TCPIP6\Parameters\DisabledComponents = HEX 0xffffffff

Uninstall All agents (except Backup Agent)
    Uninstall Antivirus
    Will be done tonight :
    Exchange and DCs : HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Netlogon\Parameters\MaxConcurrentAPI = 100
Exchange IIS : Increase AppPool MSExchangeOutlookAnyWhere Queue Length to 40000
    Exchange : decrease HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\KeepAliveTime to 60000
You're welcome if you have any idea.
    Thanks.
    Jo.

    Hi,
Thanks for your answer. Here are my comments :
    1. Disable IPv6 then restart your Exchange server
Already done since the install of Exchange.
    2. Confirm if there is any NLB device in your environment, please remove NLB firm client server
There is only one Exchange server in the Org. So no NLB installed on the server (NLB is used on the Netscaller used as a reverse proxy). In Addition, the article apply for Windows 2008, or the server is installed with Windows 2008 R2.
    3. If there is a proxy server configured in IE, please uncheck it
I guess you are talking on the client side. There is no proxy on the client side, Outlook Anywhere connect directly to the internet.
    4. Collect more error logs in Event Viewer in Exchange and collect the IIS logs in
    folder “c:\inetpub\logs\logfiles\W3SVC1”
the error I reported in the description is from IIS, and always appear when end users report a problem. In W3SVC1 file, there is also errors, but those one appear even if Outlook clients are working fine. So I cannot isolate any specific
error. The most common from W3SVC1 log are :
