Hi Team,
I have gone through some docs related to Domain naming master. I could see that Domain naming master controlls the additional / removal of domain in the forest.
My query is that 1) if i want to remove an additional domain controller
whether domain master holder to be live ?
2 ) if i need to remove a child domain controller which is the last domain controller in the child domain whether domain naming master to be live ? Please suggest me.

Domain naming master role is a forest-wide FSMO role which is not invoked frequently but for domain creation/deletion and application partition creation/deletion.
No it does not need. Because you are not creating / removing a domain. Your local RID needs to be accessible in this case.
Yes it is. By demoting the last domain controller in a domain, you are removing the domain also. So because removing a domain from a forest needs to contact the domain naming master tole, it needs to be accessible.

Root Domain Naming

I’m in a customer’s site , a new site – I would like to set up their domain. That would be the first root domain in a new forest.
Now the question is – Does anyone have concerns in naming a domain .LOCAL?
What domain naming is the best practice MYCOMPANY.COM or MYCOMPANY.LOCAL
Any pros and cons ?

The RFC 2606 doesn’t reserve any custom TLD. So nothing prevents .local (or .global or anything like that) to become one day valid top level domain extensions. We cannot know what way the industry will go the next years (even though they might probably
not go that way...). We do have some examples where .local is an issue: You No More local names in the certificate starting November 2015

Modbus Ethernet Slave seems to fail when the Master query information simultaneously for more than 16 Coils or Discrete Inputs.

I'm developing an control application by using the Modbus TCP/IP for communicating with the host computer.
I'm using the Modbus Library for LabVIEW

The LabVIEW MB Ethernet Slave seems to fail when the MB Ethernet Master
query information simultaneously for more than 16 Coils or Discrete
Inputs.
The Modbus Application Protocol Specification (http://www.Modbus-IDA.org) state that:
1- The function code 0x01 'Read Coilsis' is designed to read from 1 to 2000 contiguous status of coils in a remote device.
2- The function code 0x02 'Read Discrete Inputs' is designed to read
from 1 to 2000 contiguous status of discrete inputs in a remote device.
To test the behaviour of the LabVIEW MB Ethernet Slave I have modified
the 'MB Ethernet Example Slave.vi' by adding more Coils and Discrete
Inputs. I have added up ONLY to 20 Coils and 20 Discrete Inputs.
By using the 'MB Ethernet Example Master.vi' the answer to the MB query
is correct for the first 16 Coils or Discrete Inputs. Starting from the
17th Coil or Discrete Input the MB Ethernet Slave doesn't give any
answer.
By shifting the start point address the answer remain correct for the first 16 Coils or Discrete Inputs.
I have tested the slave by using also a third part MB Ethernet Master and the behaviour is the same.
1) There is a reason for this behaviour?
2) There is a Modbus Library for LabVIEW that satisfy the 'Modbus
Application Protocol Specification' managing from 1 to 2000 contiguous
status of Coils or Discrete Inputs?

I have the same problem with the MB Ethernet.
I need 40 Outputs.
The first 16 work perfectly. The next 8 coils do not work, The next 8 work, The next 16 do not work,The next 8 work,The next 24 do not work And work for the last 8. Conclusion, to activate the 40 outputs, I needed 88 coils.
Because 48 coil, do nothing Can someone help me and i cant implemet the jim solution

If you select characteristics value with replacement path then it uses the results from previous query; for example let us assume that you have query Q1 whivh displays the top 10 customers; we have query Q2 which gets the top 10 customers for info object 0CUSTOMER with as a variable with replacement path and displays detailed report on the customers list passed from Q1

Customer master Query report doesnt pick all the customer account groups

Hello experts
We have a custom Query report created using customer master tables KNA1,KNVV,KNB1 etc. We have customers maintained under 5 customer account groups. One of the selection fields in the query is account group. But it displays customers only in 4 of the 5 account groups for some reason, even though we have customers maintained in that group(prospective customers).
Any reason why this could occur? How do i ensure that customers from all account groups are visible?

In SAP query if you join
KNA1 - KNB1- KNVV
General - Sasles data - company data
May be your 5th Account type is created without company code data.
The query will display only if the data is linked in all tables.
In case if you don't have company code data but you want the details of the account group customer
In the query join screen.
Right click on the joining line between KNB1 and KNVV and select Left outer join.
Now run the report , it will show all the account group data.

Generally there are no configuration steps for SAP query. It is a reporting tool. Using these tool, you can create reports.

NAMED SQL QUERY PROBLEM

I am trying to run a named read all query, which requires me to use the "AS" keyword for tables to eliminate ambiguity. This does not appear to populate my vector of object, as I assume the field names end up being different ie. FIELD1 gets T.FIELD1.
Any help with this will be greatly appreciated

Named Native Query Problem

I am running JDev 11g patch 2 (11...3) on a windows 7 machine. JDK 1.6_18

I have entered the above code in to a entity bean - but all I get back when I run is invalid SQL statement - it works fine in a sql window.
I tried to use just "SELECT * FROM menu_folders " and get the same problem. Many of the examples show the same format as in the namedQuery ("select o from menuFolders o") but I thought the principle of native querys was to use standard SQL - just for this reason - not everything can be done in sql expression language.
Two things 1) mf_id is self referencing and there is no definition for the column in the regular EJB code. 2) userfoldervw is outside the bean (and yes it is a view)
There is a secondary issue - this is a master for another table which holds the actual items (forms).
I want to build a menu tree - normally I would do this in a backing bean and problematically build the tree menu - however - with JDeveloper this does not appear to be an option.
I have the system working fine in the Netbeans IDE using the backing bean.
I was looking for the adfMenuTree (the adfTree does not have the folder/node concept. I cannot find sufficient info on the adfTree to understand how it manages levels to make any sense out of it.)
Can someone give me a hand on this (either a backing bean solution with the adfTree or a view object - or just the sql)?

I have been developing with NetBeans and find it a much simpler IDE to work with but it is not time to move on.
The project I have been working on has a basic splash screen -> Login -> Menu structure.
The menu is based on a workflow and role concept. In the login I capture the users roles and the location code. These are stored in a session bean.
The username and the location code then govern the items in the menu and a to do list that is in a split panel (menu on left and to dos on the right with a button that takes them to the appropriate page based on workflow)
The issue I had with ADF was the lack of a data control in the page - I was using pure JSF. When I looked at the backing bean in the debugger - the input text was not being passed to the backing bean.
I was able to solve this by a bit of editing in the jsp and some movement in the locations. What I found interesting was that the methods in the backing bean worked fine (with the NPE due to the lack of the binding of the input text to the backing bean).
I am trying to move my skills into ADF/JDeveloper - and finding that it is a very obtuse IDE. The focus seems to be on technology rather than application development.
I came from the Oracle Forms/Reports environment and used the Designer2000 extensively - the focus was only on the business logic - the rest was generated for you.
With NetBeans - I found a similar focus. JDeveloper however is a different animal - I have spent hours and read tons of material - and still cannot find answers to very simple things.
I have a good example - I have a view object that takes a parameter - it looks to me like I will have to write over 100 lines of code to get this to work and I an still not sure how I will manage it in a backing bean.
I have no control - other than a button to execute a method (Netbeans had an abstract page bean that exposed parts of the life cycle (init, prerender, etc ...) that allowed me to execute code at specific life cycle stages - I have not found anything at all in the ADF that would guide me in doing the same.
According to all the documentation I have read (considerable) I will have to defeat ADF and do everything programatically - what a waste of good technology and my time.
I may be wrong - I hope I am - maybe some one can point me into a direction that can help me with this (everything in the tutorials misses these simple issues that we use every day).

AD DS New Forest Domain Naming Problem

Hey everyone,
I'm having a bit of a conundrum about the new forest domain name and what possible implications it can have if I chose the wrong name convention...
Current Setup
The current issue is that the company I work for was bought out by another company and atm, where using a 2-way forest trust.
The company also has another site in Africa which is using a different forest domain but doesn't have any forest trust to either of the other 2 domains.
The current forest domains are:-
1. Company1.local (my old company)
2. Company2.com.au (main company)
3. internal.company2direct.com.ke (Africa site)
To make it worse, all three sites have their own Exchange environment and there's all types of file share/application authentication issues between sites.
Therefore, the company has decided that they want to get rid of all the exchange environments/file shares and so forth and move everything to
Office365, including SharePoint and Lync
New Solution
They have also decided that they want a new forest with a single domain and that the locations and security will be delegated by using different OU structures/GPO's as it's all going to administered by 2 people at the main company site. This is non-negotiable
as they don't want sub/child domains or different forests, just a single entity.
They're using a third party to do the Office365 design and implementation. However I have been assigned to setup the new initial ADDS server for the new forest.
After some reading I've found that we really shouldn't be using '.local' or '.internal' for the forest root domain. I suggested that we use 'internal.thecompanynamethatisreallylong.com.au' and a NetBIOS of 'CNF' (which is actually that long,
and I feel that if we have to use a FQDN for anything then it will cause an issue)
They want me use the following for the forest root domain ' au.cnf' with a NetBIOS of 'CNF'
Is that really such a good idea or is there any situation whereby using 'au.cnf' as the
prefix.suffix could cause any issues?
I would of like to use 'internal.cnf.com.au' however the domain name 'cnf.com.au' is already registered by another company..

Personally I would NOT use the "CNF" as NetBIOS domain name. "CNF" in AD stands for "Conflicting object" and this will be shown in dcdiag or repadmin outputs when conflicts are listed as doubled names for example.
For the internal naming I would always use short domain names. Top level domain names to avoid for WAAD and Office365 I would also check with the experts in http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/azure/en-US/home?forum=WindowsAzureAD
and http://community.office365.com/en-us/f/default.aspx
You could use public TLDs but keep in mind that you have to configure split DNS that way.

** How to show the master query group for once in Report??

I've developed a master-detail groups at a report
The master one has it's repeating frame and the detail one has another repeating frame and put at another page at the layout.
The porblem is that the master one is shown (the same record) in pages for times equal to the number of the detail records which is own for that master record!
Example:
if the master record has got three details then the master data will be show for three times (three pages) at run time and then the page number 4 will show the three detail records.
How to make the master data to be shown only for once (page number 1 only) and then show the detail three records at the next page (page number 2) at run time???

the question back is, what you've done for this. At default the master record is only shown once. Could it be, that the master-fields are inside the repeating frame for the details?

New 2012 Active Directory Domain - Naming Convention

Hi Guys,
I am working for a start-up company, who currently use Office 365 (Mid-Size Business) for their email and for the use of SharePoint.
I have been tasked with designing and building a fresh new 2012 Active Directory, but I am a little unsure of how to name the new domain with Server 2012, previously I would have used a ".local" name, but I have read a lot of articles that say
this should not be done anymore, rather we use the external domain name of the company with a sub-domain prefixed.
Whilst I have read quite a bit about this method, there doesn't seem to be a clear right or wrong answer, can someone advise what would be best practice in my situation?
