Domain Splitting and iDisk issues

First, my apologies if my question has been answered previously. I did search the forums, but didn't find anything promising.
I have split my large domain.sites file into four separate domain.sites file, following the guidance of folks on this forum. Each domain.sites file contains two sites; a one-page "index" site with links to all my sites and one of my "real" sites. (the index site has a slightly different name in each domain.sites file so I don't ovewrite).
But now I'm having a dickens of a time keeping all the sites online at the same time. I did some searching in these forums and discovered that I have to do two rounds of "publish all." Since these were existing files, the first time I told one domain file to "publish all," it erased the sites I had deleted from that file. After the second round of publishing, the sites have all come back (except for my biggest one, which I haven't published a second time; I'll do that overnight).
It looked like I have everything working...until I synced my iDisk. Then one of my sites disappeared again! Plus, some of my sites that I can access on-line don't show up on my iDisk.
I typically leave my iDisk mounted on my desktop. Do I need to change this if I'm working with multiple domain.sites files?

Thanks to both of you for your help. I after one last publish last night, I got all my sites on line.
Syncing my iDisk didn't work as well, though. Somehow I ended up with two copies of my iDisk on my desktop: one with the typical globe icon and another with a generic "drive" icon. The globe one was supposedly the current one, saying it had sinced this morning, but it only had some of my sites on it. (Oddly enough, it had each of the index sites, from all four domain.sites files, but not all the "real" sites from those files) The plain "drive" icon idisk had all the files on it. I couldn't get rid of either of them without restarting. But restarting seemed to set things to rights.
I've taken Varkgirl's advice and don't have my iDisk on my desktop. I didn't really access it much anyway.
Would it be of benefit to others for me to spell out the steps I took to split my domains and have a site index always show up as the site for the short url? I'd adjust it with some of the things I've learned in the process. I know there are good instructions for domain splitting in this forum already, but I don't know that my approach to a sites index with multiple domains has appeared on the forums before.

Message Split and CopyValue issue

I am having a problem with a message mapping.
I am trying to split an idoc into multiple idocs based on the content of the idoc. My idoc is CREMAS and I need to create a separate idoc for each company code which is in the segment E1LFB1M-BUKRS. I am able to split the idoc based on the company code successfully.
However, my issue is with copying the other segments underneath the segment E1LFB1M that have 0..9999 occurrences in each idoc.
For example, I use copyvalue for segments EDI_DC40 and E1FLA1M which worked great for all the idocs created since they have a single occurrence, however the copyvalue does not work for segment E1FLM1M (purchase orgs) which has 0..9999 occurrences. The copyvalue for E1FLM1M only copies 1 segment per idoc message instead of the 6 E1FLM1M segments for each idoc that I have in my example.
Any suggestions on how this can be solved?

You can use CopyValue() to copy the value of a position in the source structure and assign it to a target field for a frequently occurring source structure element. The value is copied each time the target field occurs in the target structure.
It will work for the segments which are occuring once in seource, Not for the multiple segments.

Domain sites on idisk

I consider myself an apple addict. Love Apple.
For the last year I have known that apple was moving from the .mac to icloud. I thought our data/mail would be moved from idisk to icloud. I know, silly me. Now, I can't access my files, photos and domain files for the many websites I have made the last decade. This move is like me telling my husband that I am going shopping next June without letting him know I am going to wipe out his bank account at the same time.
Please give me suggestions on how I can access my iweb domain files and idisk files to save to another location.
In the future I will not put so much trust in Apple. Am pretty sure that if I put all of my files in the iCloud, that one day soon it too will just disappear for the next great thing. Anyone heard of the word MIGRATION? AND to think.....I paid good money for a service I did not receive.

If you migrated your MobileMe account and have Lion, your Mail, Contacts and Calendars would be migrated. You signature says you have 10.5.2 - is this correct? You cannot do anything with iCloud on Leopard except access your email, for which you will need to set Mail up manually:

As announced in various emails and notices on the site, the iDisk was not transferred to iCloud, which does not provide an equivalent service, and it is now closed and the contents deleted. You had over a year's warning to download your files - but you have not been charged for MobileMe since your last renewal date: it was extended for free until the closure.
Any files which were on your iDisk and not also on your computer are irretrievably lost, I'm afraid. However your sites should still be visibile in iWeb as long as you have not lost the Domain file which lives in (user)/Library/Application Support/iWeb. iWeb should open that automatically. (The Domain file was never stored on the iDisk unless you put it there yourself, and downloading your site's pages wouldn't do you any good because iWeb cannot open html pages.)
You will need to find another hosting service - there are plenty to choose from - and you can publish your iWeb site to that, using the FTP option in the Publish pane on iWeb '09 and above, or with earlier versions you will need to publish to a local folder and upload that using an FTP program such as Cyberduck.

Import issue - split and compressed dump

I received 15GB export dump file from site as below, they are splited and compressed
1. xaa 4gb
2. xab 4gb
3. xac 4gb
4. xad 3gb
i have import these dump file here in Unix server. i found some document to import the split and compressed dump
i follow the below steps
1. copy all 4 files into a directory
2. then i used commands
rm -f import_pipe
mknod import_pipe p
chmod 666 import_pipe
(import_pipe file created in the current diriecty)
nohup cat xaa xab xac xad | uncompress - > import_pipe & ( Process number created like 23901. we need to wait till complete the backgroud process before giving IMPORT command?)
then i give
imp userid=<connection string> file=import_pipe full=yes ignore=yes log=dumplog.txt
then it shows the imp-0009 error...
pls help me resolve this issue.

Pl post details of OS and database versions of the source and target. You will have to contact the source to determine how these files were created. It is quite possible that they were created using the FILESIZE parameter (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e22490/original_export.htm#autoId25), in which case the import process can read from these multiple files without you having to further manipulate them.

1x Exchange 2010 on-premises hosts 2 domains/companies, they've now split and will be hosted at separate locations.. autocomplete & NDR's

Per the subject. CompanyA and CompanyB shared the same Exchange 2010 Server. They have close ties but have outgrown the shared offices so CompanyB has moved 2 miles down the road. There is no link between the offices.
CompanyA is keeping the original server, CompanyB has moved to new premises with their own Forest/Domain/DC and a shiny new Exchange 2010 Server.
I'll be using new-mailboxexportrequest / new-mailboximportrequest to move all e-mail data to CompanyB and then creating x500 proxy addresses so that at least at CompanyB they can all reply to CompanyB mails. That helps CompanyB continue to be able to respond
to old CompanyB e-mails/meeting requests.
But CompanyA and CompanyB will still want to e-mail each other regularly, I haven't done the move yet but past experience suggests that due to auto-completes (and how Outlook/Exchange functions internally) they're likely to experience a lot of bounce-backs
e-mailing each other, especially responding to pre-split mail.
I'm likely to use NK2Edit and a login script to automatically remove the other company from the autocompletes so new e-mails should go through okay but are there any other solutions for CompanyA responding to old CompanyB mails and meeting requests
(and vica versa?) Special Send Connector with the old X400 addresses? Anything?

Agree with Jon.Knight. If there is no direct route between company A and company B, they will have to route over the internet.
When you move company B' users to a new forest, the email address will not exist on both sides at the same time then a shared SMTP namespace would work. You can create an SMTP connector on both sides with the local domain defined in the address space.
With this the Exchange server checks locally for the email address and if it does not find it defined locally, it will route the email to the other Exchange server which will in turn deliver it to a local mailbox. Make sure both sides have this shared
SMTP address space defined in the accepted domains. The address space needs to be listed as an Internal Relay.

Audio and video issue after Win 10 Upgrade - Split X2 laptop 64-bit

Any solution to the Audio and Video issues on Split X2 13" laptop after Windows 10 FREE Upgrade?? - Intel Core i5 processor- 4GB memory I'm sure others are have the same Audio/video problems: - there is Sound and video playback but the sound and video is repeated slowly forward....impossible to understand the audio. The video is clear but also being played in repeated frames as it moves slowly forward!- sounds coming out of the speakers ok - everything was working great on Windows 8.1 (before upgrading to Windows 10). there must be some kind of driver upgrade for IDT High Definition CODEC BEATS audio... is there a work-around until a real fix is provided?? I have downloaded and installed the HP recommended IDT Audio Driver using the HP Assistant. The current installed IDT High Definition Audio CODEC driver is: STWRT64.sys 6.10.6498.0 The laptop was rebooted but the problem still the same.....Audio is garbeled and impossible to understand the words...video seems ok when playing Youtube videos. My Split 13 X2 product id is: E2S66AV BIOS F.27

.local domain and autodiscover issues

I want to preface this by saying I am a new administrator.
Our SSL cert recently expired, and since .local domains can no longer be on certs, were registered a CA cert with autodiscover.domain.com and mail.domain.com. This new cert was successfully applied, but whenever someones opens their e-mail they get a warning
about the name on the server not matching the cert. I

So what you are saying is that his current DNS for company.com (which his internal users use for external access) needs to be duplicated internally, then modified to support his internal email access? I've set up many systems where internal DNS and
external DNS hosted the same name, and it is far from simple as "a new zone takes less than a minute to create". How do you handle internal access to external sites (which is currently working just fine with his external DNS)?
To answer your question, my recommendation is that his internal clients use AutoDiscover to gain their internal settings. Keep in mind that while the Exchange server may be in the .local domain, the SMTP domain they host is a .com domain. And since his servers
are in a domain, any domain-attached Outlook client will be able to access the mailbox successfully.
Just create a new DNS record pointing to the external host. Or get a new domain name that doesn't have external websites, then create a new DNS zone for that.
Alright, so with your recommendation - he updates his clients to use Autodiscover, which they are likely already using, to gain internal settings. And then what do you configure the internal URLs as?
For example - Autodiscover.
You set the AutoDiscoverServiceInternalURI to servername.domain.local -> he still gets a cert prompt every time he opens Outlook.
You set the AutoDiscoverServiceInternalURI to mail.domain.com to match the certificate -> Now ALL autodiscover requests from all clients are going out to the internet, then back into the Public VIP.
Same with EWS. And this is assuming he's using RPC/TCP rather than HTTP. So then he's either going to get prompts for cert every time he opens outlook and checks OOF or mailtips, or all internal clients are going to use the external VIP for Autodiscover
and EWS.

Issue:
Cisco firewalls require only one level of password i.e. the domain username and password are used for both logging in as well as reaching global configuration mode.
Background:
We have multiple Cisco network devices set up which authenticate to our Windows domain controller using NPS (Windows 2008 R2). The switches we have set up all function exactly as we would hope as they require your domain username and password to login to the device. They then require a separate password when you use the enable command, this is stored in Active Directory:

With the firewalls however, they require your domain username and password first, and then your domain password again when using the enable command. Cisco ASA works that way by design. You could remove "aaa authentication enable" and then you could use the "enable password" command to set your enable password.
But if you do that, then ASA would change your username to "enable_15". That would break Authorization and Accounting if you're using them. Let me clarify with an example
Firewalls :

Current privilege level : 1
Current Mode/s : P_UNPR

If you're using Authorization and Accounting it's recommended to stick with your current behavior.

Split x2 - Touchpad issue after upgrading to Windows 8.1

Hello,
I bought this Split x 2 a week ago and it came with WIndows 8. Everything was working fine until I upgraded to WIndows 8.1. Now my Touchpad will freeze some times and I have to log out and log back in to my profile to unfreeze the touchpad other times I can get it to unfreeze by resetting the release touch screen buttom.
I called HP customer service and they said it was a Microsoft issue and transfer me to them. Microsoft said it was a hardware (HP) Issue and that i needed to go back to the store where I bought it
(BestBuy). I took it back yesterday to BestBuy and they gave me a knew one. I did the same thing and upgraded to Windows 8.1 and touchpad issues is back. So pretty sure is not a hardware issue.
All windows updates are completed
I checked the Touchpad's Driver and it is up to date.
NOTE: I plugged a wireless mouse to my laptop and when the touchpad freezes the wireless mouse still works.
Does anyone know a fix for this issue? Everything else works great on the laptop is just very inconvenient when you are working and you have to log out to get your touchpat to work again.
Any help would be appreaciate it.

Well you gave me a great idea. So the same thing happened to me, the install failed due to the driver signature. I uninstalled the current driver, then turned off the feature that requires signed drivers and installed the driver. Everything is working so far.... the only odd thing is it doesn't show the driver any where. I am going to try a few other things BUT the mouse hasn't stopped working for a good half hour.

Domain Controller cannot access \\domain\netlogon causing Auth issues

Hi everyone, I have been spent all day trying to figure out what is going on here, I have a Domain controller (only DC in the environment) that is acting funny
I first noticed when I was attempting to RDP into a server in my domain I was getting "access denied" (but I could log in as a local admin). So when I looked at the Domain Controller, I ran a DCDiag DNS test and got some an AUTH error, but am not
able to figure out how to fix this.
Another thing I notice is when I am signed into the domain Controller (GP2010-a), I cannot browse to
\\contoso.com\netlogon or any similar share.
Here is the kicker, other servers on this domain, server3, server4, server5 etc... THEY CAN access
\\contoso.com\netlogon It is ONLY the Domain controller and Server2 that CANNOT access this share. The other servers also allow me to RDP into them fine, it is only 1 server that is affected by this strange behavior.
I have checked for no IP conflicts and as far as I can tell all the DNS records are correct.
Regarding the DYNAMIC ip warning, we have a reservation that assigns the IP

Thanks, there is only 1 nic card. It is getting a dhcp address because this is an AZURE Hyper-v machine and I have set an IP reservation for it. I have no way to hardcode the IP because it gets shut off/on all the time

Domain name and session

Hi ,
We have deployed our application on tomcat server built on struts framework.
We have also set the domain name and are redirecting the domain name to Static Ip
where our application is deployed with URL Masking option enabled.
Everything is working fine in Firefox.But in IE6 and IE7 we are facing issues related to sessions.
Example:
it works when we access directly
http://156.78.78.89:8000/myapp/login.do?method=display
     when i redirect this with a domain name(with URL masking enabled) like
     http://www.mydomain.com It does not work.
     I am not able to login into application(using sessions of this) or use shopping cart(using cookies)
Cookies are getting disabled and there is no session maintainance.
Is it problem with struts config or tomcat server?
I am unable to take my application live because of this issue.

Autodiscover, domain controllers, and certificate errors

I have just deployed and Exchange 2013 server in one of my sites. I'm having tons of issues with it, but one issue I'm having trouble thinking through goes like this:
All users have email addresses that are [email protected] Domain.com is our internal domain name and also a public domain. Now, in a Windows environment, if you were to nslookup domain.com within our network it
will resolve to any one of the domain controllers. On our infrastructure master DC there is an IIS website, with SSL, that handles certificate services for our internal CA.
Here's my problem: When a user opens Outlook and autodiscover attempts to find their Exchange connection info it first tries to reach the site
https://domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml. If that PC happens to resolve domain.com to the DC that has our certificate services website on it then the Outlook client sends a certificate error.
If the client is prior to Outlook 2013, the mailbox configuration just halts and throws an error.
What do I do to prevent this?

Unicode export:Table-splitting and package splitting

Hi SAP experts,
I know there are lot of forums related to this topic, but I have some new questions and hence posting a new thread.
We are in the process of doing unicode conversion in our landscape(CRM 7.0 system based on NW 7.01) and we are running on AIX 6.1 and DB2 9.5. The database size is around 1.5 TB and hence, we want to go in for optimization for export and import in order to reduce the downtime.As a part of the process, we have tried to do table-splitting and parallel export-import to reduce the downtime.
However, we are having some doubts whether this table-splitting has actually worked in our scenario,as the export has exeucted for nearly 28 hours.
The steps followed by us :
1.) Doing the export preparation using SAPINST
2.) Doing table splitting preparation, by creating a table input file having entries in the format <tablename>%<No.of splits>.Also, we have used the latest R3ta file and the dbdb6slib.o(belonging to version 7.20 even though our system is on 7.01) using SAPINST.
3.) Starting with the export using SAPINST.
some observations and questions:
1.) After completion of tablesplitting preparation, there were .WHR files that were generated for each of the tables in DATA directory of export location. However, how many .WHR files should be created and on what basis are they created?
2.) I will take an example of a table PRCD_CLUST(cluster table) in our environment, which we had split. We had 29 *.WHR files that were created for this particular table. The number of splits given for this table was 36 and the table size is around 72 GB.Also, we noticed that the first 28 .WHR files for this table, had lots of records but the last 29th .WHR file, had only 1 record. But we also noticed that, the packages/splits for the 1st 28 splits were created quite fast but the last one,29th one took a long time(serveral hours) to get completed.Also,lots of packages were generated(around 56) of size 1 GB each for this 29th split. Also, there was only one R3load which was running for this 29th split, and was generating packages one by one.
3.) Also,Our question here is that is there any thumb rule for deciding on the number of splits for a table.Also, during the export, are there any things that need to be specified, while giving the inputs when we use table splitting,in the screen?
4.) Also, what exactly is the difference between table-splitting and package-splitting? Are they both effective together?
If you have any questions and or need any clarifications and further inputs, please let me know.
It would be great, if we could get any insights on this whole procedure, as we know a lot of things are taken care by SAPINST itself in the background, but we just want to be certain that we have done the right thing and this is the way it should work.

Now coming you your questions...

Package splitting and table splitting works together, because both serve a different purpose
My way of doing is ...
When i do package split i choose packageLimit 1000 and also split out the tables (which i selected for table split) into seperate package (one package per table). I do it because that helps me to track those table.
Once the above is done i follow it up with the R3ta and wheresplitter for those tables.
Followed by manual migration monitor to do export/import , as mentioned in the previous reply above you need to ensure you sequenced you package properly ... large tables are exported first , use sections in the package list file , etc

Well i would say run R3ta (it will create multiple select queries) followed by wheresplitter (which will just split each of the select into multiple WHR files) ...

Rule is use executable of the kernel version supported by your system version. I am not well versed with 7.01 and 7.2 support ... to give you an example i should not use 700 R3ta on 640 system , although it works.

If you ask for 10 split .... you will get 10 splits or in some case 11 also, the reason might be the field it is using to split the table (the where clause). But not 100% sure about it.

Not sure why you got 29 split when you asked for 36, one reason might be the field (key) used for split didn't have more than 28 unique records. I dont know how is PRCD_CLUST split , you need to check the hints file for "key". One example can be suppose my table is split using company code, i have 10 company codes so even if i ask for 20 splits i will get only 10 splits (WHR's).
Yes the 29th file will always have less records, if you open the 29th WHR you will see that it has the "greater than clause". The 1st and the last WHR file has the "less than" and "greater than" clause , kind of a safety which allows you to prepare for the split even before you have downtime has started. This 2 WHR's ensures that no record gets missed, though you might have prepared your WHR files week before the actual migration.

Not aware any thumb rule. First iteration you might choose something like 10 for 50 GB , 20 for 100 GB. If any of the tables overshoots the window. They you can give a try by increase or decrease the number of splits for the table. For me couple of times the total export/import time have improved by reducing the splits of some tables (i suppose i was oversplitting those tables).

DIP can't contact OID after OIM domain extension and configuration

After extending our domain for OIM, configuring and propagating the domain, we are having issues with DIP contacting OID.
When starting the managed server, wls_ods1, the following error is reported in the .out file:
<Error> <oracle.dip> <DIP-10013> <Exception
javax.naming.CommunicationException: simple bind failed: oid.company.com:3131 [Root exception is javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target.
In Enterprise Manager the components Quartz Scheduler and MBeans as down, and under the DIP server properties, when testing the connection, we receive the following error: The connection test could not be performed.The test aborted with the message : Unable to locate the DIP Sync profile mbean - :oracle.idm.integration.sync.config:*:Unable to locate the DIP Sync profile mbean - :oracle.idm.integration.sync.config:*:
OID is running before attempting to start the managed server. The certs have not changed during this process.

Check the compatibility matrix. I don't believe you are supposed to run OIM and OID in the same domain.

Hello,
Suddenly the working CRM is being stopped for some group of users.
I drilled down to the issue and have checked that the users from Domain in which CRM is installed are having CRM access.
But for other domain user having problem to access CRM.
I tried to add a user from a domain which is not of CRM domain then it gives following error.
"Business Management Error: You are attempting to create a user with a domain logon that does not exist. Select another domain logon and try again.
<Message>LookupAccountNameW failed with error</Message> "
The change is made - AD group have upgraded Activer Directory server to 2012 R2
Please help as the Production CRM is not working for other domain user.

We have Activer Directory Structure like below.
One Root Domain says A
and there are multiple child domain like B,C,D etc...
B,C and D are all in same level,they are child of A domain.
There are two way transitive trusts between A and all the child Domain.
But there is no trust in between B and C and so on.
Our CRM server is in B domain and B domain's user can access CRM but users of Domain C,D and so on can not access CRM.
